Cabin holiday rentals in Iceland

Two adults and one child vacationing in this valley of paradise not far from Reykjavik! The setup was ideal and we all felt right at home. It was so comfortable, warm and we loved the added bonus of the hot tub!! We had a car rental and did our own touring of the southwest including the golden circle of our own. Highly recommend this lovely cabin!!

Great accommodation located a 20 min drive from Reykjavik. The surrounds were beautiful and very quiet. We were able to see the Northern Lights from the cabin. We had an issue with the hot tub on our first day which the host was able to resolve quickly.

Everything about the place worked for me. I liked the location, the seclusion, the amenities of the cabin. The kitchen was very well equipped. Having use of an air fryer and the barbecue very much enhanced my self-catering. And at the end of the day the hot tub was a joy. I shall definitely endeavor to stay here again.

A lovely cabin in a quiet area. It’s a pretty small space, but it has everything you need or a 1-2 night stay. The hot tub was great to have and enjoy the peacefulness of the area.

I’m so grateful that I booked this apartment. Maria was outstanding, very attentive, responded always quickly and she even bake us a delish dessert. Cabin is exactly as described. Bed is good, space is beautiful and I was able to see the auroras from the cabin. Cabin is near the restaurant area of the city and lots of the amazing waterfalls that Iceland has to offer. This was a once in a lifetime experience. Thanks for everything!

We had a wonderful holiday at Sara's house. The house is warm, cosy and spacious, and the view and surroundings are spectacular. Sara was very communicative and helpful throughout.

Highly recommend this place. You can take a rest after long trip or escape from the city in peace and quiet place! There is everything what you need to spend the best time. The owners are amazing people friendly, nice, and they take good care of this house. This makes this place so unique. We gonna back there again for sure :)

We loved our stay! The cabin is a perfect spot for a few days in the golden circle. Hot tub was a great addition. Frederikke is extremely kind, helpful and responsive to any questions.

Elín’s “house of happiness” is nothing short of a dream come true! My husband and I loved every single second at this incredible secluded cabin outside of Selfoss and already dreaming of our next trip back. Elín is a warm and accommodating host, you won’t find a lovelier and more thoughtful host out there. And don’t get us started on the outdoor shower! It has the perfect temperature and pressure! A lovely cabin in peaceful surroundings — the perfect place to recharge and enjoy a relaxing holiday. Highly recommended!

Our group of three enjoyed our stay at Pall’s place. It was as described and met our expectations. He was very pleasant to deal with and the surroundings were remote, very beautiful and peaceful. Google maps sent to the wrong place but thankfully he had his street and house marked. Bird watchers will definitely enjoy his place.

Be sure to stay for a few more days, it is very peaceful and very well equipped.We spent our last night here before leaving Iceland, making our own meals, watching the sunset, the most exciting is the aurora, it's already the end of April, and it's so lucky to see the aurora.The only thing to note here traffic should be suitable for arriving by car only.

We really enjoyed our stay here in this one of a kind, unique accommodation! The cabin had what we needed for our stay and we were able to rest easily. We had clear skies both night and saw amazing northern lights from our window and just outside. Amazing!!!

A beautiful little cabin in a gorgeous area with stunning views. I used this as my home base from which to explore the Golden Circle. The cabin was clean and tidy, the kitchen had all the basics, and there were some lovely touches including chocolate bars, some seltzer, a full carton of milk and cereal. And the heated towel rack was an incredible luxury that I used every day! Sylvia was not there and did not respond to my message telling her what time I would arrive, but her very nice and helpful husband Gylfi greeted me when I arrived and gave me a tour. He also came out to say goodbye when I left and we had a nice chat. I would like to have used the hot tub but it wasn't especially clean. I ended up at the nearby hot pot Secret Lagoon anyway, which was great, so it was not a big loss.

This place is fantastic and idyllic, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. After a long drive from Akureyri to the south, we simply landed in a paradise - that's how the place affected us! Hidden among trees and lots of flowers, beautifully equipped and with a great terrace in front ! We will remember these three nights for a long time! Eidur is very nice and helpful and responded immediately and gave some good tips on what else we can see. We were very satisfied and can only be grateful and recommend it! Really a paradise!

We got to pet the horses and see the northern lights in a cozy cabin all to ourselves.

We had an incredible stay at this cabin! The views were absolutely stunning—like something out of a postcard. The host was super helpful and gave us some great local recommendations, including horseback riding at Laxnes Horse Farm and a visit to Hvammsvík Hot Springs, which was just a 30-minute drive away. We also went snorkeling at the Silfra Fissure, another unforgettable experience not too far from the cabin. The location is very peaceful and secluded, so we’d definitely recommend picking up groceries ahead of time and enjoying meals at the house. The hot tub was a huge highlight—perfect for soaking under the stars! A couple things to note: there isn’t a microwave, which would’ve been a helpful addition, and the hot water had that classic Icelandic sulfur smell, which took some getting used to. Still, this place was an easy 5/5. We’d absolutely stay here again!

Here you get that as it was described. Perfect for 2 people, also possible for 3 adults. Road traffic very low. The neighboring lake is not so easy to walk to. The landlord is very friendly.

Wonderful cabin- it was a cozy place to stay between Vik and Höfn. The hosts were lovely and told us everything we needed to know! We couldn't get the wifi to work because of high winds but they were so responsive in trying to help out. We found this place so charming and obviously well loved by the family who built it. It was very personal. Thank you!

Great Airbnb for families or multiple friends. Has all you need and even more. Location was great to explore the region. We definitely recommend!

If you find yourself lucky enough to be on Westman island, this is a great place to stay for a short visit. I would highly recommend if you simply need a clean, comfortable and peaceful place to stay. The space is as described.....make sure you are aware that it is truly a "tiny house". It has everything a person needs for a short visit. I would definitely stay again if I found myself in the area. The accommodations are best suited for three people who know each other as it is a smaller space and privacy is limited.
