The house is located about 5 km from Kirkjubæjarklaustur and is therefore halfway between The black sand beach in Vík and The national park Skaftafell and Jökulsárlón in the east. From the house there is a view of both Vatnajökull and Mýrdalsjökull.

The location gives opportunities to visit South Iceland such as Thorsmork and ferry to Vestmann islands.
