Our guesthouse is in a beautiful mountain village, near to it are pristine forests with beech trees and an ancient mountain path that was used to carry sea products from Japan sea to Kyoto in old days. In front of the guesthouse runs a stream that is a source of Lake Biwa and its water is crystal clear ; in early summer nights many fireflies fly over the stream. In winter, we have a lot of snow ; sometimes it reaches 2 meters from the ground! On clear nights you can enjoy the sky full of stars.

Tokuto is a newly renovated private mansion built in the 1940s on Teshima. It is conveniently located about 15mins walk from Ieura Port. This Taisho-era house, once a shop, home, and storehouse, is now a guesthouse. We can share its history if you are interested. Some original items remain. The storehouse is now a small sake bar. We offer free sake tasting, or tea and sweets. Local people also visit on weekends. Two major shrines are within walking distance. Tsurugi and Nomachi Stations are 30 minutes apart by train. Kanazawa Station is 40–50 minutes from Tsurugi, with a transfer.

Hakone Villa with Private Onsen, Ryokan Style

Authenic Japanese style mixed with modern comfort. The private onsen is the biggest feature of the house. Also it has a Japanese style garden where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery just sitting on the tatami. The house is 25 min bus ride from Hakone-Yumoto. From the nearest bus stop, Midorinomura-Iriguchi, it's about 2 min walk. It is also very close (3min bus ride) to Sounzan, the terminal of the Hakone rope way.
