Location Opened in May 2024. Located in the heart of Takayama's historic district, Makoto-ya Ojin is a stylish inn in 1-chome, Ojin-cho, Takayama City, where the good old Japanese landscape remains. In front of our house, which is sandwiched between the Hida-Buri Highway that connects the former Toyama and Takayama, there are the Nissho-bu Mingei Kan and the Yoshima residence, which are important cultural properties that show the rich cultural assets of Japan, and this area is designated as a preservation district for traditional buildings. You can enjoy the old town and beautiful scenery while experiencing historic buildings. It is a 2-minute walk to Miyagawa Morning Market and a 5-minute walk to Sakurayama Hachimangu Shrine, the site of the autumn Takayama Festival. The festival stall in this area is called Hōmeita, and it has a variety of decorations such as a palanquin and sculptures (1-minute walk to the stall). Enjoy Takayama's history to the fullest in an excellent location. <Building and Hida master carpenters> Built 145 years ago by a master craftsman from Hida, this building has been revived here by modern craftsmen. Originally a construction company office, this renovated building has an impressive, rugged and modern design with a 'factory' theme.The lines of the steel frame and the texture of the concrete create a calm and warmth that soothes the fatigue of travel. It can accommodate up to 4 people, and is perfect for a bike trip with friends or family island time.The illuminated Tatara Bridge from the window is a beautiful view that symbolizes the night. Enjoy a serene garden view and relax in the semi-open-air bath with a Shigaraki ceramic tub. Upstairs includes a tatami room and bedroom with refined design details.
