Romantic new cottage with veranda on the waterfront and spacious private garden, in the middle of nature and bird area between Alkmaar and Hoorn. Enjoy the peace, the view, spacious bathroom with shower and bathtub or go on an adventure with the canoe into the polder. The Meadow Cottage feels like a secluded private paradise, but is surprisingly centrally located in North Holland. Whether you want to cycle, hike, fish, birdwatch, explore villages or just do nothing at all. This is the place where you catch your breath.

The Little Retreat

A bright and cosy guesthouse in a quiet, green setting. Village and shops within walking distance (800 m) and beach within driving distance. The perfect place to unwind and explore the area. PLEASE NOTE: The bedroom is located in the attic, and the ceiling is 1.80 m at its highest point. So, there isn't much room to move around in the room. There's a wardrobe downstairs. The kitchenette has a combination oven, a fridge and a hotplate. Airfryer available upon request. Bus stop 400 m away, train station 1.3 km away.

There are also beautiful cycling routes. From Castricum train station (5 km), you can reach Amsterdam Central Station in just 30 minutes. Alkmaar and Haarlem are also nearby. Located next to the nature reserve 't Twiske, ideal place for boating, paddle boarding, hiking, biking. Cycle in 10 minutes to Amsterdam Noord or in 30 minutes to Centraal Station. By public transport, it is also only 20 minutes to Central Station and within 30 minutes to the RAI, or the atmospheric Pijp with its many terraces and the museum square.

Cozy and peaceful, the garden suite is a perfect place to relax after a long day of walking and sightseeing.

Bicycles is also available on site at your own risk.

The cottage is located on the river Amstel, only 15 minutes by car and 20 minutes by bike from the vibrant center of Amsterdam. The cottage overlooks meadows on all sides. It is next to the owners house, but offers a lot of privacy. The cottage has a nice terrace that overflows into the garden.
