"De Gulle pracht" Holiday home, Friesland

Our cozy vacation cottage was originally an old stable that we (Caroline and Jan) converted together, with lots of love and respect for the old details and materials, into this "Gulle Pracht." Through a private driveway with parking, you reach the terrace with the spacious garden, a lawn surrounded by tall trees, where you can enjoy yourself. Through the two French doors, you step into the bright and cozy living room with its white old beams and a fully equipped open kitchen. There is wireless internet available, TV and DVD. Because of the ceiling in the living room that has been removed, beautiful light falls in from the skylights and you have a view of the roof structure with the old round hoods. The beds are located on top of the two lofts. The comfortable double bed is accessed by an open staircase. In the other loft, there is a 160-cm-wide mattress on the floor. This bed is only accessible by flexible guests via a ladder. It is not suitable for small children because of the danger of falling, but older children find it exciting to sleep there. Please note, the two lofts share the same large open space. Under the old beams, you can sleep peacefully, where only the sound of rustling trees, whistling birds or your deliciously snoring bedmate will be heard. The room is heated by central heating, but also only the wood-fired stove can heat the cottage comfortably. We will provide you with some wood to start a cozy fire. If you wish, you can buy additional bags from us. Through an old stable door in the living room, you enter the bathroom, which has a beamed ceiling and underfloor heating. The bathroom has a good shower, double sink and toilet. With its inlaid mosaics and all kinds of funny and old details, this space is also a feast for the eyes. There are possibly two (old but good) bicycles available to ride to Harlingen. We, ourselves, live in the farmhouse which is in the same yard. We are available for help, information and advice for fun trips in our beautiful Friesland. Your cottage and our farmhouse are separated by our garden and the big old barn, so we both have our own space and privacy. If the door to Caroline's pottery studio is open, you are always welcome to take a look around. Kimswerd, located on the Eleven Cities Route, is a small, quiet, and beautiful village where our Frisian hero “de Grutte Pier” was born and lived. He still watches over us, in petrified form, at the beginning of our little street, next to the centuries-old Church, which is very much worth visiting as well. You can do your shopping in Harlingen, the supermarket is a fifteen minute bike ride away. The old port of Harlingen is 10 km from our cottage. Kimswerd is located just across the Afsluitdijk. From there, follow the signs N31 Harlingen/ Leeuwarden/Zurich and take the first exit at Kimswerd, 1st right at the traffic circle, 1st right again at the next traffic circle, straight ahead at the intersection, across the bridge and immediately take the first left (Jan Timmerstraat). At the beginning of this street, next to the church, stands the statue of the Grutte Pier. We live in the farmhouse behind the church, Jan Timmerstraat 6, first wide gravel path on the right.

House with stylish interior at the waterfront

The house is located in Woudsend. It is a luxourious house which is located between similar houses with a private jetty. The jetty is 7 meters long, where you can put your own boat in front of. The garden contains a sheltered tarrace which gives you a bit of privacy when you have your meal outside. The other terrace contains 2 loungers for some relaxing time. When entering the house at the ground floor you start in the hall, near the hall there is a separate toilet. When continuing your walk to the living room there is an open kitchenspace, which makes it comfortable to cook together. The kitchen is fully equipped and can be used as if it is your own kitchen at home. The kitchen has all cooking materials as well as a microwave, oven and dishwasher. The living room contains a fireplace, for the colder days. The living room contains a read and sitting area with a television. Via the hall you can enter also the bedroom with 2 single beds and a little bathroom. Upstairs there are 3 more bedrooms. Two bedrooms contain a double bed and one bedroom contains a single bed. Furthermore there is a second bathroom with 2 sinks, a shower, toilet and a bath. You can bring your own linen or you can rent a linen package including towels -25 euro PP Other facilities are a washing machine, a dryer and you can make use of two bikes. Two kids seats can be attached to the bikes if preferred. ***** One of the great advantages of this house is the fence which can be placed at the waterfront. As I have little grandkids I know the needs of this fence. The fence is placed within minutes and is safe (it is an official approved fence in France). ***** No entry for individuals under the age of 28 years.

In the water sports village of Terherne on the Sneekermeer. The Kameleon adventure park, cafe, restaurants and the most beautiful church/wedding venue of Friesland around the corner. You sleep on the ground floor (2 bedrooms + private bathroom + private kitchen + private large living room (50 m2) with high ceilings and fireplace. Private entrance. The 3rd bedroom is upstairs via the front house. Outside on the water your own terrace. Also suitable for group work with a large work table and large TV. Vintage so beautiful, old and cozy. But not spotless.

Here you are a farmer on an arable and livestock farm. The ultimate place for a few nights away from the hustle and bustle, where you have a cozy home at your disposal. You will experience the tranquility of the rural area, although you will hear and see the cows, chickens, pigs and machines. The 3 apartments at De Opper in Heeg are bright and fully furnished. In the cozy living room, there is also the open kitchen with fridge, dishwasher, induction cooktop and oven. Upstairs are 2 spacious double bedrooms and the bathroom with shower and toilet. There is floor heating. On the terrace, you can sunbathe and enjoy. If you do not come by boat, but want to get on the water, you can rent a sloop or sailboat. Ask the host about the possibilities.
