Beachfront holiday rental in Halifax

Our stay at Terence Bay was incredible. The location is stunning—right on the beach with beautiful views of a lighthouse. My kids loved being able to climb on the rocks, go hiking along the seashore and even find sea glass right in the backyard! We couldn’t have asked for more and my family didn’t want our time to end! The property was spotless and even better than the pictures. Our two kids especially loved the bunk bed room. Falling asleep to the sound of the ocean was pure bliss. Danielle, our host, was fantastic—always helpful and attentive. You could tell that she genuinely cared about us having a great trip. She offered us tips and help when needed. We’ll definitely be recommending this spot to our friends and family.

From the moment we arrived at this charming cottage, we were blown away by the breathtaking view. It made every sunrise and sunset feel magical. The amenities were equally impressive. The cottage was clean, and beautifully decorated, and stocked with everything we needed - from a fully stocked kitchen to linens and even games for a rainy day. The location was fantastic, as we were just minutes away from local grocery stores and a mix of eateries - perfect for grabbing a quick bite or enjoying a leisurely dinner. Plus, the area is packed with sightseeing adventures and historic landmarks to hidden gems we discovered along the way. This place felt like home away from home and we can’t wait to go back again!

I booked Wilson Coastal Club 5 for 3 nights, and it was absolutely perfect. The room was beautifully set up clean, cozy, and with an incredible water view right from the window. Waking up to that every morning was such a treat! The entire property has a peaceful, inviting atmosphere. One of our favorite moments was spending a relaxing evening in the wood-fired hot tub and sauna with a private ocean view. It was such a cozy and intimate way to unwind. We also enjoyed quiet walks along the shore and soaking in the calm surroundings. The staff and the host were so friendly and helpful always available to answer any questions and made sure we had everything we needed. The host even checked in during our stay to make sure we were doing okay, which was very thoughtful. The location is great close to the highway, so it’s easy to get to Halifax. There’s also a nearby supermarket and gas station. Plus, Peggy’s Cove and Lunenburg are just a short drive away. Thank you, for hosting us :)

This was a perfect getaway home. Very comfortable and relaxing. A great view of the ocean. The front windows let in so much of the morning light ; I absolutely loved hanging out in front of the window in a big comfy chair or sitting on the front porch drinking coffee in the mornings and wine in the evenings. One does have to drive to get anywhere but the drives are relaxing and the scenery is beautiful. Grocery stores only a few miles away. A great beach also a few miles away. We weren’t able to experience any local restaurants unless there was outdoor seating as we had our dog, a Great Dane, with us. But that was completely okay with us as we just really wanted to get away from the craziness of the world for a week! The host was very responsive when we had questions and very friendly. Highly recommend this little charm!

This was the most amazing place. We spent a week here and Everything you needed or wanted was right in this place. The surroundings were peaceful, very inviting. Gillian checked in with us halfway through our stay to see if we needed anything. The beds were very comfy. The firepit is beautiful there was a fully stacked wood pile to use for the fire. There were lots of chairs all around to sit outside or out by the the dock. We would stay again in a heartbeat. Thank you Gillian and Scott for your hospitality.

We had a wonderful stay at this property - 8 family members on a girls weekend! The house was beautiful, better than the pictures. The kitchen/living room/dining room space was ideal for games, cooking and lots of fun. Everything was so clean and ready to use. Kim was super responsive with any questions I had and everything was really smooth. I would stay here again! It's useful to note for prospective guests - there is a 1-bedroom guesthouse directly behind the main house which does lie between the house and the yard/view, so it didn't feel quite as private as I thought it would be. But - we were there on a rainy weekend, so our group and the guesthouse renters stayed inside all weekend and it was like they weren't even there! I would suggest if you are renting this space for outdoor space, it might not suit those needs. Overall a lovely place to stay and we had a fabulous weekend.

Our group of four had a fantastic experience staying at Quinpool. From the moment we booked, the host was incredibly proactive and kind, making sure every detail was taken care of in advance. Communication was clear and timely, which made our entire trip smooth and completely stress-free. The property itself was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described—ideal for a relaxing stay. We had our daughter and her family with us and we all enjoyed the cottage. The view is spectacular, the home is comfortable and our grandsons loved beach combing on the private beach every day! I highly recommend this place for families or even a group of friends.

We had a girls weekend at Cheryl’s, and it was the perfect spot for it. Very clean and spacious with a great view! Great property with lots of activities to do. Would definitely stay there again!

This was our daughters first vacation out of the province so we were unsure of how it would go as she had just turned 4. We had such a lovely stay at Sarah's cozy lakefront cottage! It was peaceful and quiet — the perfect spot to relax and recharge. The location was great, with easy access to nearby attractions and some beautiful beaches close by as well as some others 1-2 hrs drive away. The host was friendly and made us feel right at home. The beds were really comfortable, which made for a great night’s sleep after days spent exploring. Our daughter was thrilled with all the toys available, and we really enjoyed the selection of board games for some fun family evenings. We’d absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a calm, family-friendly getaway. We’d love to come back some day - our daughter did not want to come home.

Beautiful location and home. We stayed 3 nights. We were in the Hubbards area for a family wedding. It was so great to have the beach house as a little escape retreat from the the rest of the hustle and bustle of the wedding preparations when needed. We were a group of 6 and two from our group both had mobility issues. The 2 bedrooms on the main floor were perfect for them. Beautiful patio and lots of fresh sea air!

The home was cozy and beautiful. The host was very accommodating and let us do an early check-in and late check-out. The view from the dining room was spectacular. This home is uniquely placed for the best view of this waterfront. There are little signs in the home of things to do in the neighbourhood, places to eat at, and clear instructions on how to look after the home. The home is tastefully decorated and has nice artwork everywhere. I particularly liked the black and white florals in the living room, the lighthouse painted on wood and the Maud Lewis print.

Our stay was very comfortable and enjoyable. It is situated right next to the ocean and the sound of the waves was relaxing. Perfect place to escape to.

We enjoyed a very comfortable 5 night stay at Adam's place. The beds were comfy and the kitchen, pantry and laundry were well stocked. East Petpeswick is a beautiful, quiet, natural area but there's lots to do if you're into outdoor living. The tiny house provided all the comforts we needed to relax at the end of our days. We loved sitting on the back deck to watch the night sky and hear the surf (while our steaks were on the BBQ) and appreciated the wifi and TV when it was time to come in. Adam's spot is within easy access to gorgeous Martinique Beach (strolling and surfing), the wonderful Musquodoboit Trailhead (hiking), and all the other treasures Nova Scotia offers. For sure, we would stay here again.

Above and Beyond Booked this trip for a group of 7 guys in our early 30s, and it couldn’t have worked out better. Everyone had their own bed, and the space was the perfect size for us with all the facilities we needed. The views were stunning. I knew it was on the ocean, but wow - photos really don’t do it justice. While we were there, some of us spotted seals and even saw a whale — a pretty exciting wildlife moment. Not sure how common that is, but it was a highlight for us, being from out of province . Uber does reach the property, which made a night out in Halifax easy, though we also rented a car to get around — both options worked well. Huge thanks to the hosts. We’d love to come back

We had a family gathering here. The place was clean, big, lots of things to do (inside and out) and we felt right at home. Deborah was very responsive and accommodating. The view and dock were amazing and the deck outside was plenty big for us all. When the weather turned we went under the deck. The place is perfect for getting everyone together. Would definitely book again.

Great location on a very clean and peaceful lake. Swimming , kayaks and paddleboards are available right off the private dock. My son and I enjoyed paddling around the lake with islands, walking trails and a natural area with diving board to explore. The house is on a peninsula so while it’s very private , you also get pretty views on 3 sides. The house is stocked with everything you need for meals, movie watching , games (indoor & outdoor) as wells as a fire pit area. Very rustic feel but everything clean and air conditioned so we were comfortable when we did spend time in the house. Lastly , we were able to get to the Halifax waterfront for a very enjoyable meal in only 35 mins. Closer options in Sackville & Dartmouth as well. We also appreciated having a large Sobey’s grocery store only 10 min drive away.

We stayed at Fox Point for our corporate retreat, and it was the PERFECT spot for this. There were lots of spaces to accommodate the team, and tons of things to do. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could ever need. Not to mention the serenity of the waves from the private beach. I would highly recommend this spot for corporate getaways or family vacations!

Jeff’s place was amazing. Extremely spacious and clean, we felt right at home.

This house is extraordinary. The history, the decor, the comfort. The best stocked kitchen we have ever seen (plus an additional half kitchen). This may be minor, but they had lots of extras towels, face cloths and toilet paper. And the views - unbelievable! Alan's support as host was impeccable - as friendly and he was efficient. We will definitely return!

Raquel’s place, “Vista Del Mar,” is absolutely gorgeous!! The open concept of the main level allows for guests to dine and intermingle while enjoying the picturesque view of St. Margaret’s Bay. Raquel was quick to respond to messages and was a pleasure to talk to! A short scenic drive to Peggy’s Cove and Halifax. Would definitely recommend this spot to anyone travelling to Nova Scotia. Thank you Raquel for having our group at your place!

Another Great Stay at The Land Yacht! This was our second time staying at The Land Yacht, and it was just as wonderful as we remembered. They have everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable getaway. The indoor pool was amazing, and the views of the ocean are absolutely breathtaking. One of our favorite moments was reading a book in the solarium while listening to the rain—pure bliss. The peaceful atmosphere, thoughtful amenities, and beautiful setting make this a truly special place. We can’t wait to return again!
