Holiday rentals with beach access in East Devon District

Haidees little homely family gem is so relaxing, tranquil and hidden away, with little touches that make your stay so welcoming. My husband & myself had a peaceful relaxing short break here, in an ideal location right by the beach, few pubs, little boutiques, shops & plenty of eateries everything you could think of nearby. We parked up with the permit provided, and walked everywhere with beautiful surroundings & sceneries. We sat outside on little bench provided chatting to lovely people and watching the world go by. This has to be the best ever beachfront apartment we have stayed in. Spectacular views, spacious balcony, superbly equipped and everything worked without any hassle. The Leisure Club is an added bonus for me - brilliant pool, fitness equipment and the jacuzzi plus the outdoor terrace and restaurant with great meals, especially the (takeaway available too) fish and chips. The purpose of this trip was a holiday for my 94 year old Mother - above all the apartment was very safe/secure, accessible, the few steps to the 1st floor are manageable and the lift means getting into the apartment is easy. Totally recommend this apartment!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The apartment was spotlessly clean upon arrival, bright and comfortable. Quiet at night. Nice views from the living area over the harbor and looking over the town from the large bedroom. As Suzanne had noted in the listing, there is no assigned parking space which could be an issue. We had to pay to park the day of arrival. It’s free after 6pm until 8am. One item we’d suggest adding would be a clothes hanger for drying as the machine didn’t seem to actually dry anything. We’d highly recommend Seagulls restaurant (book in advance). Unassuming place but food was excellent. We also liked Platform for a Sunday roast and Rise for breakfast. The George was decent. If we’re back in West Bay, we’d definitely stay again.

What a truly wonderful stay, and the photos REALLY do not do this beautiful place justice!! We had the most lovely welcome from Chris and Sally when we arrived, were given lots of tasty treats to keep us going until we were able to shop the next day, and loved every second of our stay with them. They really did think of everything we could possibly need, and nothing was too much trouble for them. The location is excellent as we were able to park right outside the property. There is also a bus stop directly outside so we jumped on the bus to Exeter, which only took half an hour. The drive to Starcross is only about 10 minutes and we parked up and got the lovely foot-passenger ferry over to Exmouth (definitely worth the trip and very cheap.) We will DEFINITELY be returning and are already missing the sound of the ocean.

My husband, 10-year-old daughter and myself have just returned from a truly amazing week, the property is beautiful, with facilities that far exceeded expectations. We had such a relaxing time; the beds are super comfy; led in bed looking out to sea with a coffee in the morning was a true highlight. The gardens are beautifully kept and being gated and private we had no worries with our daughter playing out. The walk down to Watcombe Beach, albeit steep on the way back up but 100% worth it; we took our paddleboard down and went swimming on a number of occasions, the water is very calm, on 2 occasions we were in the water and within 20ft off us were 2 seals! The hot tub was perfect, lovely fluffy robes provided to keep off the chill. We used the BBQ each evening and ate out on the patio. Susan is an incredible host, nothing is too much trouble, very informative and exceedingly helpful, she really did enhance our stay and made us feel as if we were staying in a home from home.

Great stay at The Aspect, lovely views, good location, everything we needed. Good communication from Finbarr. Would stay there again.

5☆ we had a great 4 day break, Julie & Chris are excellent hosts & the apartment exceeded all our expectations & is in fact much bigger than it appears in the pics. The apartment has everything you need, is super clean & the view is amazing. Everything in the apartment is top quality, from the bed linen & towels to the shower gels provided. Can't wait to come back. Thank you Julie & Chris for being so accommodating & welcoming.

Had an amazing stay here, the property is lovely and in a perfect location The waterbed was a shock but actually pretty comfy and slept really well. Had an internet issue which Ali resolved even though she was in Spain, great host and would definitely recommend this property

Having basics left for us, salt + pepper, teabags, shower gel etc was so helpful. We walked everywhere but when we did drive we knew we didn’t have to search for a parking spot as Stephen left a permit so we had our own space (would be difficult to find at busy times). The property was within the centre of the village.

Amy's cottage is just as advertised , location is perfect, right on the river beach, its easy to find, and just a short walk from train station. The shops and several little cafes , bakeries and pubs, are all within a short stroll , many are dog friendly. Amy's cottage has everything you could need and its all very clean cosy and comfortable .Amy was quick to answer my queries and gave me good directions for getting there. Thank you for a lovely seaside break , me and my little dog would love to stay again .

We booked a 3 night stay in the week. Harry’s place was fantastic. He supplied enough breakfast items to feed a few people, which was such a bonus . The house was lovely, really homely and comfortable. Our pooch was catered for too. Some really beautiful walks from the house into the woods, which we all enjoyed. The coast was about 30mins drive, which we did visit. One thing to note, some of the local restaurants/takeaways were not open until midweek which wasn’t a deal breaker but good to know. The Pig at Combe was a great place to visit and eat, dogs allowed in the Folly, highly recommend. Communication from Harry was great and we did get to meet him as they only live next door. We would definitely like to visit again.

Had a lovely stay at the chapel. It was very clean and even more beautiful and spacious than the photos convey. Stephen was an excellent host and quick to help me out when I had a question.

We really enjoyed our stay - the lodge has great facilities and provides quiet privacy, while the local village and its shop and pub is only a 5 minute walk. The gardens surrounding the lodge are beautiful and we enjoyed seeing all the bird life. The private parking was convenient. Overall, a very relaxing few days.

Had a great time staying here with all the family, the house is so close to the beach it was perfect for us! Was such an easy and chill stay with a surprise hamper full of goodies when we arrived. Would love to stay here again and Tristan was super helpful with recommendations and extra info!

Perfect place for a couple. Centrally located for whole of South Hams area. Really quiet. The host was really welcoming. Accommodation was really well presented and spotlessly clean. Super bathroom and a really comfortable bed. We’d certainly stay there again!

Wow. What an absolute gem of a place. Lydia was fantastic, made us feel right at home and was super communicative. The apartment is gorgeous and very comfortable and clean. Everything we needed and a fab location Thanks so much for having us. We can highly recommend ❤️

The flat was light, spacious and clean and everything you would need was there. A delicious cream tea was waiting for us on arrival which was very much appreciated. The accommodation was literally a couple of minutes walk from the seafront and a short walk to the town centre and train station. When we went out on the first day we had problems getting back in as the front door was sticking, but the problem was quickly rectified and all was well afterwards.

Fabulous place, fantastic views from living room and master bedroom, perfect place. Such a great location just across the road from the beach and a few minutes walk from the harbour and town centre. The sound of the pebbles washing up the beach lulled us to sleep. Thank you Anna!

Just had 4 nights stay in this beautiful apartment with amazing views. It’s modern, clean, well equipped and very comfortable. We would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great stay in this area.

Beautiful location, cute loft. It's a lovely 50 min walk via a field and river walk into Lyme Regis. Definitely recommend this way rather than the road as that's hard work. Don't rely on buses or taxis unless you've booked. The facilities in the loft are plentiful and it was a lovely place to sit and read on the decked balcony. The mattress and pillows are the most comfortable I have ever experienced! Unfortunately, the bed was so low with my painful legs/knee surgery, I needed help to get out which was a bit of a nuisance for mid night bathroom trips. Sofa also lie but sat on a cushion and managed ok. lots of people mention the ceiling height, my husband is 6 foot and managed fine, yes it's a bent shuffle down the side of the bed but manageable. All in all a lovely peaceful weekend with some great nights sleep. Beware, if you are thinking of using the local pub (5 mins walk), lovely place to sit out the back bit they weren't doing food and also weren't open Sunday evening.

A very tasteful modern and pristine apartment with the most amazing views along the Jurassic Coast - what a place to relax. It is reasonably close to the beautiful town of Lyme Regis walking however the return journey is challenging and is not for everyone. It is so convenient though for the many walking routes in the area which we really enjoyed. Thanks Melanie and David for wonderful stay ( loved your new lawn mower David, we might have to get one too! )

The flat was in a perfect location for marina, beach and the strand with local bars, cafes and local places to eat. The kitchen super equipped with everything. Super comfy bed lovely towels and plenty of them. Could not have been more pleased when we arrived. Would definitely book again without hesitation if we returned to exmouth. I really should say something horrible to put people off... so that my wife and I can book it whenever we want to!! However.... it was a fantastic apartment, with great facilities, everything we needed and a few extra things we weren't expecting, which made it really special. Parking under cover was a real bonus. And the location was simply perfect. Close to the beach, the station, and the town. Can't wait to go again (if you don't all beat me to it!)
