Beachfront holiday rental in Chalkwell Beach

Jason’s place was wonderful for our little family and super close to old town and new town. Sara’s was great for brunch Sunday morning and the Library playground and library were great for my little one on Saturday.

This place is great. Fiona was friendly, helpful and informative from the start. She gave us advice and guidance about her place unlike some people who are over the top with their rules. Her place is very clean and comfortable. It is also very stylish with high quality fittings. I don’t think I’ve stayed in a place that is more equipped; the kitchen has so much. Fiona has really thought about the place and what is needed as a guest. Parking in the local area was straightforward and the neighbourhood is quiet and safe. We walked to the Old Neptune, Tapas and the newish pizza place also on Harbour Street. Very good coffee from Grain and Hearth and Blueprint. This was a perfect place for us as 4 adults- us two in our 50s and our daughter and her partner (18/19 year olds). Excellent.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Slip Cottage. Great communication from Steve throughout and perfect location for beach, restaurants, etc. Literally just off the main street but still quiet. Lovely touches like providing handwash and bubble bath! Lots of towels and toilet roll also. Highly recommend staying here.

Such a fabulous cottage in Old Leigh, nice interior, comfy beds, little sitting out area, close to shops. We would definitely return.

Tara was absolutely incredible. She was so responsive, helpful and accommodating before I had even arrived, and this continued long after my stay when I had left an item behind. The Thai Retreat was idyllic and looked exactly like the photos - a beautiful tiny home surrounded by lush gardens, creating the perfect private and quiet escape. Only a short 5-10 minute walk from the centre, and 20 minute walk from Tankerton. The location was perfect, and the amenities will not disappoint. I highly recommend this stay and look forward to visiting again for another weekend escape. Thank you so much for having us, Tara.

Perfect location a stone throw from the shore, near Neptune Pub (right on beach) and Wheelers Restaurant on the high street. Interesting independent shops, quirky coffee shops and pubs tucked in back streets. Wonderful beer garden and restaurants. A lovely get away just an hour away for me.

Pristinely clean bungalow right next to the seafront. Fully accessible for those who need it, with wider walkways and doorways for wheelchair users. Little garden out the back for the dog, and space for two cars on the front drive. A stone’s throw from the promenade and beach, this place is a must for well behaved dog owners. Fiona was a great host, friendly and responsive, and the bungalow has been set up so it’s super easy to get in and use the facilities.

We have stayed at Cooper's Beach before, but never in such a lovely motorhome. The motorhome was spotlessly clean, well appointed and modern - it felt quite luxurious! And that is before we factor in the location. It is perfectly positioned near all the amenities: the clubhouse, the pool, the playground and the beach. Rohan responded quickly to our queries and was an informative host. It was a great place to stay and we had a wonderful trip.

It’s a really clean caravan, looks exactly like the pictures. It had everything we needed, it was a great base to be able to visit family nearby. Communication was great as well. We will be booking again next time we are down.

We had a wonderful stay at Gills caravan. It was spotlessly clean and had a well equipped kitchen. ( we like cooking) The rooms were very comfy and the outside space was a plus in the sunshine. Gill was extremely helpful and friendly and the area was very dog friendly with loads of lovely walks straight from the site. It was our first time In The area and we will definitely be back. ThAnkyou gill for your hospitality.

Had the best two nights at Tracy’s home from home. Was everything she had described, very comfortable I had the best two nights sleep. Close to the beach and you can see the sea from the van. Thank you I will be back 😊

Hazel’s place is a fantastic place, right on the beach front and short walk to the facilities in this lovely holiday park. Had everything that we needed, all clean and well equipped. 100% recommend!

Nick is a great host and very proactive. he helped us with whatever we asked for. good caravan to stay.we had a great holiday with this stay.

Exactly what it says on the tin, as they say. Friendly people, a nice little grass dog walking area next to a nature reserve. Pub opposite served lovely food as does the clubhouse I’m sure, although we didn’t get to eat there it served a lovely Guinness and provided great entertainment from bingo to cabaret. Walking to local shops and beach. Canterbury cathedral is a bus ride. Great shopping area there too. Thirty nine restaurant is absolutely lovely. Catering was easy for vegetarian by the owner. Most of all Sarah was an amazing host. Responded to queries immediately. I’ll definitely come back here.

We needed a day by the sea and hiring a beach hut in February was the perfect way to do it. We brought a picnic, books and board games and set about a relaxing day sitting on the balcony under blankets, gazing at the sea - just what we had hoped for. The deserted beach in front of the hut was like having a private garden. Our children found buckets and spades for building sandcastles and happily played while we watched on - idyllic.

Comfortable home in peaceful location but near to the beach, very pet friendly. Mersea island is a lovely location. Plenty of lovely pubs within 10min walking distance. Mel is a fantastic host, very friendly and goes out of her way to make your holiday special.

Felt immediately at home in this gorgeous cottage by the sea. Loved staring out to sea from the comfort of the king bed in the main bedroom. The living room is cosy, the kitchen is fully equipped and bright and sunny in the morning. The bathroom is also bright with a good shower and cute bath. The lookout room and attic room with velux windows are all about the sea view too. Everything is walking distance. The car park space is ideal. I would definitely stay here again. It feels like home from home to me, but by the sea. Everything functions really well and has its own place. It feels like the owners may have lived here as it’s truly set up that way and not just a rental. Really happy I found this place! We’ll probably be back :)

The place is gorgeous old house, the location is fantastic, close to a park, the shops and the seafront/pubs. The rooms are spacious and the shower and kitchen really nice. Parking in the area is a bit of a nightmare and the stairs in the house are quite steep but no problem for us.

spotlessly clean and very comfortable. would definitely stay again. the only slight disappointment was that the description referred to views of the harbour and beach and they are named harbour view but there was no view. it didn't spoil the trip though.

It was a beautiful house and Jessica was the best host - she was so kind and we couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Our kids were in floods of tears because they didn’t want to leave! It’s a perfect location and so lovely to be so close to the beach. We look forward to staying again, thank you Jess!
