Farm stay in Tomales
5 out of 5 average rating, 169 reviews

Applegarden Cottage B&B near Point Reyes and Tomales Bay

Enjoy a peaceful visit to the farm in this cozy and comfortable bed-and-breakfast retreat. Wake up with breakfast brought to your door, then spend the morning leisurely exploring the surrounding apple orchards and gardens. Located on a working farm/cidery, you can learn about apple culture and even stroll through the orchards tasting different varieties of apples during the harvest season. The farm's chickens provide very tasty eggs which you'll enjoy for breakfast; there are cows and lots of wild-life just outside your door! The cottage is set up comfortably for two people with all the spa amenities. Guests have stayed here for the last several years; you can read reviews online by following the review link on our website after searching for our name (AppleGarden Cottage) on the web. Breakfast is brought to the cottage each morning with all organic and home-made items. Fresh eggs from our pasture-raised chickens, local dairy items, and our own hard cider is stocked in the fridge. Guests can enjoy touring the apple orchard and cidery, and visiting with the resident chickens. They have complete privacy inside the cottage. Free EV charger for guest use. We live full-time on the farm in the main house and are always on-site when our guests are present. We enjoy visiting with folks if they want to tour the farm or need suggestions for activities. Tomales is 68 miles from both San Franciso (SFO) and Oakland (OAK) airports. There are many hiking opportunities just a short distance from the farm: Point Reyes National Seashore has wonderful trails to explore. There are local cheesemakers who have educational tours; Tomales Bay is perfect for kayaking, and of course there are several oyster farm choices for the bivalve lover! Spectacular beaches are just an easy drive away. If the weather's nice, bring your bikes! EVC available for your car. There is no public transportation. We are located about an hour from San Francisco (traffic depending) and about 20 minutes from Petaluma. Fee includes breakfast for two each morning. Free wi-fi, satellite TV with premium channels, land-line phone with free calls (cell phone coverage is difficult), internet radio The weather is quite changeable; dressing in layers is the best idea since the morning can start out foggy, lots of sunshine during the day, and a brisk breeze in the afternoons. No animals - no exceptions, no matter how well behaved you may think they are, so please don't ask. On rainy days, enjoy the cozy comfort of reading next to the fireplace, or venture out to watch to storm at Bodega Head. Plan to bring snacks or other things you'd enjoy eating; we provide breakfast (of course!) and there are restaurants fairly close by, but no stores or places to just run out and get a quick treat!

A Frame with Mountain Views, Walk to National Forest Trails

This modern rustic cabin provides an escape from city life. Hike the nearby trails through the National Forest, a 5-minute walk from our front door. Inside, the floor-to-ceiling windows and exposed beams frame a long distance view out over the forest - it feels like no one else is around for miles. And if you must work remotely, you can count on fast Wi-Fi (>50mbps). Our cabin is perfect for design minded travelers who want an escape to the woods. The floor to ceiling windows and exposed beams frame a long distance view out over the forest. It truly feels like no one else is around for miles. There is a bedroom on the main level and a loft upstairs (each has a full size bed). The kitchen is fully equipped (including a Keurig coffee machine stocked with coffee and cider), and all bathroom necessities are included. The entire cabin is available for the exclusive use of guests during their stay. Guests will self check in/out via electronic lock and keypad. My wife and I will always be available by cell phone if you have questions, and we have a lovely neighbor on the mountain who's available to assist on site when needed. We visit the cabin about once a month to unwind from city life ourselves, and we make it available to guests when we aren't around. We fell in love with the place and hope you do too. Halfway between Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear Lake, Arrowbear is a serene hamlet in the mountains. This is a quiet neighborhood, not a tourist trap. You can walk from the cabin to hiking trails, a diner, and a park with playground. A short drive will get you to lake activities, local shops, and restaurants. Very close to Snow Valley Ski Area. Parking is available on site. Personal car is recommended to get around the mountain, although there is a Mountain Transit bus stop near the cabin. If you come up in winter, please be prepared with tire chains and/or four wheel drive, and be sure to check weather conditions before you depart.

Take it easy on the porch in a Hollywood hideaway

Our guests like to call The Porch House a 'tree house'. We think it's because the 40 foot long porch walks into the canopy of a massive rubber tree that stands alongside it. Or maybe because with the french doors open in the bedroom you feel like you're sleeping in a king size nest. But our 'nest' has creature comforts as well... private bedroom, shower, full size fridge/freezer, toaster oven, hot plate, coffee maker, tea pot, wifi, and Netflix. The main room has vaulted ceilings, a skylight and 2 ceiling fans to keep you cool. Simple but cozy decor make it a great place to relax. 3 sets of french doors along the porch side open up to make the place feel twice as big... Sunset is the perfect time to open up all the the doors, listen to the birds and let the light and breeze go throughout the house. You don't feel like you are in the center of Hollywood. You get the entire back house to yourself with private entrance and private porch. We are always ready to answer any questions and help with traveling suggestions but also respect your privacy so if you don't contact us we will not be bothering you. This property is located in central Hollywood—a few minutes away from Griffith Park, the Hollywood sign, and Universal Studios but nestled in a neighborhood that's walking distance to different restaurants and markets. 10 minute walk to the metro that connects to LAX, Chinese theatre, Santa Monica beach. Many bus stops on every corner. We love our neighborhood even though we are located in a central Hollywood it doesn't feel touristic or fake. We have many different ethnicities in our neighborhood which makes it so unique with different delicious authentic cousins and cultures.
