We had a wonderful stay despite the weather being a bit against us. The accommodation is complete and equipped with all comforts. Good bed, complete kitchen, lovely shower. Location in nature. Great for walking and cycling. Contact with host was very pleasant. Repeatable. Petri and René

Gite corresponding to the photos, even better ( we didn't expect an entrance spacious enough to shelter our bikes). Frootje is very responsive to messages and his mom met us on arrival. Absolute calm, clear environment, very pleasant living space, very good bedding. In the listing, we talk about 3 bedrooms, there are 4( 2 with double beds, separable if needed), and 2 with single beds. One of the double bedrooms is on the ground floor, it's good for people with difficulty with the fairly steep stairs. Just to know, the hangings could be obscuring( in the bedrooms)for those who like the darkness to sleep. And the toilet is with the shower, a little annoying when you want to get ready in the morning. In short, a place to remember. Thank you for everything. Nadine

Wonderful weekend in Dwarsgracht, despite the rain We had a fantastic weekend in the cottage on the Dwarsgracht, despite the weather not always cooperating. The cottage was comfortable and cozy, and the location is beautiful — even with rain it is enjoyable in this area. What really made the stay special was Eva's hospitality. She was incredibly relaxed and open, even with our animal gang. We immediately felt welcome and comfortable. It's so nice when you come somewhere and find that you are not only tolerated, but really seen and appreciated. Thank you Eva, for your warmth and hospitality! We'd love to come back — hopefully with some more sun next time. 🌦️🐾

This was the most beautiful spot we have stayed at. The location and surrounding were so peaceful. Everything was exactly as shown in the photos.

The house is in a great location, along the street that leads to the beach and a few minutes walk from the village and shops; it is bright and tastefully furnished; the interior spaces are very spacious, we have stayed there in three but it is suitable for more people; comfortable beds and good cleanliness; very large and well equipped kitchen; large manicured garden; a house full of charm and well inserted in the atmosphere of the island

My family and I had a lovely 2 night stay at Janke's place. The house was as described and the village was beautiful. we visited Schiermonnikoog Island which is a little gem! Thank you Janke for the stress free stay.

This place is ideal in every way: the warm welcome by the hostess, the lovely complete house, also very suitable for my mother of 87 years (ground floor, amenities), conveniently located with a lovely garden. Thanks for all the tips, Miranda. We have enjoyed it! See you again!

We were with a group of friends of 10 and had a lovely stay at Aleida and Rick's AirBnB. It had enough space, plenty of showers and toilets and each room had its own sink. The place was large yet homely. Highly recommended if you want to explore Friesland with a group! Very nice host too, smooth contact and very nice thinking along. Despite the changeable weather, we really had a great weekend here!

Petra is a very nice and accommodating host. Everything matched the descriptions. She couldn't help the very mixed weather. Nevertheless, guests who arrive with bicycles and possibly with a child trailer should know that there is no storage space. Otherwise, everything was really great!

It was just great! One of the most beautiful accommodations we have visited so far. With so much attention to detail, Janet and Auke have created a feel-good oasis that leaves nothing to be desired. A wonderful place to relax, recharge your batteries and enjoy both the beautiful home and the surroundings to the fullest. The Blue House is really something very special. Mieke and Arnold have decorated it very nicely and it is perfectly equipped! I immediately felt very comfortable and enjoyed my stay very much! If I ever come back to Giethoorn, I will definitely want to stay here again 🥰

What a great place, to stay at. I would recommend it to anybody visiting the area. Also the home is very pleasant to stay, very clean, lovely views from th living room, over the pond and the fields. Very quiet location for sleeping. The breakfast is very complete with fresly baked breads and croissants. And Cathie was so kind to let us pet her horses and goats. Thank you for a very nice stay, Cathie!

We felt very comfortable at Ympkje. The apartment was as shown in the pictures and very nicely decorated. As a welcome greeting, there was even cake and fresh flowers. The location was very quiet, easy to find and only 10 minutes from the sea. Ympkje was very helpful and always easy to reach. The apartment has everything you need for a stay. The only drawback is that the bedroom is not separated from the rest of the apartment by a door. We were there with our little son, can highly recommend the accommodation and would travel there again at any time.

Niko’s Garden house is a very special place to stay in the residential area close to centre of Groningen. It is surrounded by blocks of houses, still provides an island of peace and real retreat after heavy day of sightseeing, walking… Niko was very helpful and supportive during our visit, and we would highly recommend his house to travelers who prefer an authentic accommodation experience as an alternative to hotel room. Great books available, inspiring. And the choice of music is also interesting and original. The house has everything you need, well maintained, but not superfluous or confusing. Atmospherically decorated, candles and beautiful light. It is as neat as if it were a private household. We are fans of the island cottage!

A warm welcome to an idyllic spot in Workum. I was with my daughter of almost 7. Baukje had even bought nice things for her! Close to everything, such as the sea, shops and restaurants. We had bicycles with us but it was also fine to do on foot. Boating is also fun, if you can do it a little. Diederick and son saved us 😅 We had a very successful weekend and certainly worth repeating. Thank you!

The place was/is very lovingly decorated. The surrounding area as well! It is a very functional place to stay and my personal taste is small and cozy. Yfke was present and accommodating when needed. She just has a knack for creating a nice and friendly atmosphere. All in all, recommended if you want to treat yourself.

Jannie and Arnold were great hosts, Arnold met us when we drove in and showed us the house. They gave us tips for restaurants in the area and supplied is with everything we needed for our night stay. The place is beautiful and peaceful, 10 minutes drive from Groningen. Would recommend for a peaceful weekend away.

It was super nice. The accommodation is beautifully located with a unique view of the IJsselmeer. This also means constant fresh air, wind, and the sound of the water. We loved that. There is also a beach on the dike for swimming. Good beds, great kitchen and shower, nice living room to relax. Everything you need for a relaxing holiday is there. We have also thought of the dog. We'd love to come back.

Arianne’s apartment is excellent. Perfectly placed, equipped with all that you need for a short stay and utterly tranquil. Also Arianne was so helpful and accommodating. Big thank you. We loved our time there and we would highly recommend a visit.

I absolutely enjoyed my stay in Lily’s place. Tastefully decorated in blue and white, new bathroom, well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, good welcome and instruction leaflet in several languages, great balcony and view of the IJsselmeer and your own parking spot in the back. If you don’t have children I wouldn’t stay in this area during the school holidays as it will be busy and noisy. Now it was perfect, quiet and peaceful and would definetely recommend staying in this lovely apartment.

Had a great stay! Great location within walking distance of central Groningen. Very clean and cosy. Loved the little patio. We hope we can come back soon.

We spent a weekend with two families including four children. Location is beautiful, quiet yet close to all amenities. The accommodation is very complete and equipped with all comforts. The children have enjoyed the space with table tennis table, pool table and shuffleboard for hours. Ideal when it was raining outside. The horses outside were also very popular with the children. The sauna and plunge pool for the parents made the house complete. Mieke is very hospitable and gave us good tips for the area. We had a fantastic weekend. The kids can't wait to go again. Beautiful location and really nice, we were allowed to use two bicycles and a canoe, which was great. We were in Groningen in about 45 minutes by bike.
