“Had a great stay at Carin's place in Brännö. It is perfect to get away from busy life for a few days and just live into the day. Great kitchen - perfect for cooking a nice dinner after a day of exploring the island. As we were partly working during our stay, we were super happy that the internet was fast and reliable. Communication with Carin was great and Check-In was super easy! Thank you :)”
Experience the calm at the small island Brännö, located in Gothenburg's south archipelago. In only 40 minutes from the city center and you can reach this beautiful place by bus, tram and boat (costs about 30 SEK). This is the perfect place for someone who likes nature, taking a swim and relax in a quiet enviroment. The island offers two restaurants (one on low season), a small market and sometimes live music. A small, cozy and quiet house that suits one person, couples or families with kids.
“We had a wonderful time on Branno this August. We were blessed by amazing weather and the only downside was that the weather brought mosquitoes and jellyfish but that didn't ruin our experience. Branno is very easy to reach and travel around from. Just note though it's a good 25 minute walk from port to cottage and with 2 kids and bags we regretted not ordering the taxi to take us round!...we did on way home...best 130 sek we spent! The cottage or rather cottages face the woods away from Marie's house so very private. We didn't meet Marie but she left us clear instructions how to get in. Kitchen/sitting area was very lovely with everything you would need and large fridge freezer. Big double doors open to the woods. The second cottage has the 2 rooms and great shower room. Only thing if you have small kids or a disability...or bad knees like me...the bunk bed (in bottom room) doesn't have a safety lip/rail and the ladder to loft room is quite tricky. However its Scandi living at it's best! The rest of the island is beautiful to walk around. The bikes still need Swedish phone which is a shame as we would have enjoyed that. The shop (good opening hours..shorter on weekend) is well stocked...remember to buy your wine before coming to the island as you have to get that from special liquor stores. There are 2 lovely places to swim with diving boards and 2 restaurants. We only sampled on by the dock which had a bbq party on Saturday night. I believe there is a dance down by the other port on the island but we didn't get to that. The restaurant by port closes early September. We also explored the archipelago with a local friend on his boat. If you can take the ferries or sightseeing tour as its really a stunning area. Overall loved the cottage and our stay. Would absolutely come again and recommend.”
Stay in a room by the salty sea. Enjoy the beautiful beach, a glass of wine on the porch, quiet and peaceful atmosphere on the car free island in the southern archipelago. Shops, restaurant and outdoor dancing on Saturdays within walking distance. Ferry to the mainland takes 20 min.
“The room was nice and clean and the bed was comfortable. Lotti and her daughter are really friendly, helpful and hospitable and we had nice and long talks. The breakfast also was very nice, even if you have some special needs :-) Her place is really cool and the location is really nice to relax and to be in the nature while still having the city close by. I would (and hopefully will) definitely come back again.”
