“Nicola was a great host, communication was very prompt when we first made contact to book and my daughter and I were made to feel welcome the moment the front door was opened. The accommodation was very homely and we love quirkinesses and that was what we found. The rooms were clean and comfortable and Nicola catered for our dietary needs. We love animals and it was lovely to meet Nicola’s dog who was very friendly and well behaved. Although the house is on a main road, the bedroom is at the back the house and we had a very good nights sleep, you could here the traffic passing if you were in the front room but that didn't bother us. If we visit Braintree again we would definitely stay with Nicola. Thank you Nicola you are a five star host.”

“Amazing stay here at the lodge, some very nice touches around and perfect for a relaxed getaway Fantastic views for miles and with the lighting, blankets and fire pit on it made a brilliant night. The lodge was equipped with everything we needed, didn'tmake use of the sauna but if was staying longer could see us spending some chill time in there overlooking the local countryside Clean and tidy throughout with some nice touches with the vinyl collection and CDs. Just really cemented the idea of relaxing and switching off from the daily grind. Thanks for a great stay”

“We were simply looking for a dog friendly stop over to break up the journey from West Wales to Colchester and back while taking our son back to uni. What we found when we arrived was a little cottage oozing with character and charm. Everything was spotlessly clean and well considered. The welcome basket of coffee, tea, hot chocolate, jam, marmalade, butter, eggs, bread and milk meant that we were sorted for breakfast. Carrie-Anne really had thought of everything. There is a communal barn serving the 2 properties with a log burner, chairs, tea and coffee facilities and games - a really unexpected bonus. Our dog was really at home here. There are walks from the cottage and across the fields. I’m so glad we found this place - definitely 5 star!”
