Cottage holiday rentals in Bay Of Islands

Beautiful place with amazing views of the bay across the swimming pool. Pool is a great bonus, and a very good size. Andy was the perfect host, there if needed, but we felt we had the place to ourselves. I read the comments about pool pump noise, but it really isn't an issue, coming on after we were up and around and switching off in the afternoon. A very special place.

We loved our time at Bruce’s - it was a last minute choice to stay in Omapere and I would have stayed longer! Sweet town and Bruce’s place is in a great location from beach and restaurants. Thank you!

We had a fantastic two week holiday, 2 minute walk to gorgeous beach. Came back home recharged, from the swimming and peaceful location. House had everything and Pete was extremely responsive and helpful.

THE BEST AIR BNB I HAVE EVER STAYED IN!!! Absolutely amazing thank you so much for your hospitality. All of the amazing extra chocolates and fruit and baked goods to make you feel at home. The best banana bread we’ve ever had. This is the best air bnb I have ever stayed in. Great spot walkable to Russell Main Street. I hope I get to stay again!

Amazing little kiwi back in a private Rocky bay. Awesome for quality family time or a group of friends. Will definitely be staying here again!

All the extra costs such as taxes and Air BnB cost seem a little excessive.

River Cottage was such a gem! The surroundings were like a jungle, the grounds were beautiful and there was fun activities like board games and kayaks. We were even able to borrow a fishing pole and caught a fish! I enjoyed walking around the farm property and river area. My favorite part was access to a lookout tower off the deck. I made my latte each morning and climbed up there to enjoy it while watching and listening to all the birds. Book this place, it's magical!

We had a lovely 5 night stay here. A very cute kiwi Bach, with superb views. A short walk down easy stairs to the beach was an added bonus. The Bach is set back from the road so was very quiet and peaceful. 😊

We absolutely loved our stay here, we had a large group staying across the two houses. The setting is very peaceful, the view was incredible and the lawn was perfect for games. We highly recommend this property and will definitely be staying again!

From the moment we arrived, Trish and Al made us feel incredibly welcome and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. The hosts were truly exceptional – friendly, thoughtful, and incredibly generous. The lodgings were extremely comfortable and well-equipped, providing everything we could possibly need and more. It was clear that Trish and Al have put a lot of thought into the space, with every detail meticulously planned. We especially loved spending time in the beautiful courtyard, which had comfortable chairs, a table, and a large umbrella – a perfect spot for relaxing and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. A special highlight was the delicious homemade sourdough, biscuits, and brownies that Trish and Al baked for us – it was such a thoughtful touch and made our stay feel even more special. I truly didn’t want to leave and can’t wait to return! I would highly recommend.

We have immensely enjoyed our stay here. There is plenty of room for the kids to play and of course a beautiful beach very close to the bach. A lovely place to enjoy the outdoors and spend time together. Also a good location to explore the Far North and come back to a tranquil place at the end of the day.

From the beginning till end, I felt right at home and was warmly welcomed by Chris, the owner. She gave me really helpful info about the Mangawhai Art Trail on that weekend which was awesome. The 'Cosy Cove Cottage was easy to find & just so lovely. I got to feed the alpacas & meet Charlie (wee dog) & Lewis (girl cat) one morning. I was also lucky to see inside Chris' cool Art Studio too 💗 Thanks so much for an awesome stay Chris & I can highly recommend your gorgeous place. Looking forward to coming back soon.

The description and pictures don’t do Josie and Graeme’s place justice. From the colourful and eclectic decor, to the thoughtful little touches, to the sweet welcome baking and sweets, this place is a treat! Our family of 4 (two adults, toddler and dog) had a terrific stay. We loved the character of the bach, the amazing location and were grateful for our thoughtful hosts. We are already planning our return.

Possibly the perfect beach stay. It’s peaceful, not fussy, relaxed but so, so beautiful. Close enough to the beach to be convenient, but far enough away to be quiet and private. The surrounding area is wonderfully tropical. The house is perfectly relaxed. Why go to the islands when you can come here?

This Air BnB is fabulous. Full of character and Kiwis! Beds are very comfortable. Perfect location and great view from the top garden. A very warm welcome from the host, James, with personalised messages and suggestions. Would recommend!

What a wonderful space to have time out. Nested in privacy, intimately situated in Pēwhairangi (Bay of Islands), embraced by beautiful gardens with astonishing views. Just a short drive to Russell and handy to Waitangi, this is a great place to rejuvenate in the peacefulness of Bay life. Sparkling days and best sleeps; thoughtful and well designed amenities. Very copacetic hosts. Truly outstanding place to stay.

Lovely quirky place, loved the personal touches… fresh flowers, notes and the bar manager sign 😊 deck was fantastic and fishing was entertaining. Young daughter was in love with it! Handy to the car ferry for more exploration around the area. Definitely will recommend for sure, great spot for relaxation and the history behind kohukohu. Loved the book! Thanks Carol

Linda’s place is beautifully organised and very clean. Lovely starry nights there. I didn’t explore the surrounds as I was too busy helping set up for my sons wedding, etc. next time I’m in Rangitane I’ll visit her studio 🩵

What a pleasant "mishap" that we ended up staying in Opua! We originally intended to stay on the Treaty Grounds, but due to Waitangi Day it was full. I stumbled onto this wonderful waterfront home, and am so glad I did! Opua is the cutest waterfront town - not much in terms of dining or shopping (none!), but we took the ferry to Russell directly from here, and did the lovely Opua/Pahia waterfront walk. Also, a 10 minute drive to Pahia for all kinds of grocery stores and restaurants. We made sure to just spend one evening eating a simple meal on the deck, overlooking the beautiful bay and passing boats. The place is well-stocked, clean, and cute, with a bonus washer/dryer. As others have stated, the driveway is tricky but not un-doable. And there are many steps up to the front door. Didn't take away from our wonderful stay here, ON the water!!! Loved it!
