Kawakawa Hut

A small but special little place tucked neatly between rolling hills. Kawakawa Hut provides a simple but comfy getaway for two in a beautiful countryside. Close by lies the vegetable garden, and friendly cows graze just over the fence. Further out over surrounding farmland you can see Tongariros snow capped mountains in the distance, so sit back and enjoy. An exceptional “John Scott” an architectural dream

We would love to welcome you to our unique John Scott home/apartment (with radiators!). The New Zealand Architect, John Scott, was an eccentric chap and was renowned for designing unique buildings. Our home doesn’t disappoint and we are excited to share it with the air bnb community. A self contained wing of our home is located in a tranquil spot. A five minute drive or a stroll along the lakefront will get you into town. We are a few minutes walk from the Botanical Gardens and the lakefront.

Sunny downstairs apartment with two queen bedrooms, both with private ensuites, a kitchenette/laundry (no stove or oven) and lounge/games room, with table tennis, and an outdoor BBQ with hotplate Own entrance & all separate to our main house upstairs. It is modern, light and spacious with quality fittings and linen and off street parking. Boating, fishing, golf courses, hiking and mountain biking are all nearby with amazing restaurants and cafes . Ideal for one or two couples and families.

One bedroom, one bathroom apartment with a kitchenette. Please note that there is no oven or cook top. The lounge has a heat pump for those brisk Taupo winters. Ideal year-round, it has outdoor areas with BBQ, large windows and a double-sided fireplace. Whakaipo Bay is 5 minutes away for swimming or walking, with plenty of bush tracks nearby. Not suitable for children. Washing machine, hairdryer, toiletries and iron not provided.
