Medieval Fort, Sud Ardèche stunning loft with pool

Formally a fortified castle “Fort de La Bastide “ was constructed on the site of a Roman military station. The earliest historical mention is 1417 and it's long history includes an invasion in 1584 by Protestants during the period of the Huguenot wars. The fort has maintained many original features including the old stone staircase at the front door leading up to a 4 bedroomed loft apartment . There is full access to the large garden including an 10mx4m in-ground heated swimming pool .

We renovated our old stone home to create a peaceful bedroom and large bathroom for our parents, but now it's perfect for guests. You'll have your own garden entrance, comfortable bed (choose king or twins), double sinks, shower and tub, indoor & outdoor seating, a Senseo coffee maker, hot water pot, mini-fridge, and microwave, but no hot plate. Central heating, outdoor lighting and ample parking including a covered area for bikes/motorcycles. Non-smokers only and no pets, please.

It is located upstairs, for four adults, adjoining the owners' farmhouse. 48 m2 living room, with fully equipped open kitchen, relaxation area with 127 cm TV, air conditioning. 35 m2 master suite with walk-in shower, double sinks, separate toilet, air conditioning. 30 m2 mezzanine. The 45 m2 cottage where you will stay is attached to our main vacation home (which we will be absent from when you come to leave you all the outdoor terrace space). It is located close to the Ardèche River. The village of Lanas is very pleasant to stay in and we never tire of coming here as the setting is soothing and there are many activities (swimming, canoeing, hiking, remarkable natural sites, labeled villages...) No doubt you will feel good there!
