Our vacation home is a farmhouse under historical protection in idyllic Kirchdaun, situated between the hills of the Ahrtal and the Rhein not far from Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler. The house is available for weeklong or day booking and is perfect for families, cyclists, hikers or people who just love to spend time in the country. The house is an ideal base for a wealth of activities. Located in the Cologne/Bonn – Rhein – Mosel – Eifel – Ahr regions, the area offers a variety of free time activities throughout the year. Settle down and relax in the tranquil countryside, enjoy the fresh vegetables, herbs and over 60 kinds of tomatoes in our garden, and simply leave your cares behind. We ourselves are avid hikers and are happy to provide you with tips and information for some great trails, and when we have time, we may even tag along! You’ll be staying in an old, picturesque farmhouse (140m2) in the Ahr und Rhein wine regions. The house is over 300 years old, very recently renovated, and unbelievably cozy with its low ceilings and antique wood furniture. It offers comfort and furnishing that shows a certain love of detail, so that you’ll feel right at home. There are a total of three bedrooms, one with a double bed (200 x 200cm), and the other with a beautiful old wooden bed frames (140 cm). The large, well-lit bathroom has a shower and a bath rub. The living room offers a dining nook, sofa, bookshelf and satellite TV. For music lovers, there’s a piano. The generously sized and modern kitchen has everything you’ll need: stove, oven, dishwasher, microwave, a large fridge with a freezer and plenty of silverware and utensils. Our wine cellar is always well stocked and we’re more than happy to offer you the fitting wine for your food at cost. In our large, modern winter garden, you can enjoy an “outside feeling” regardless of weather and enjoy the idyllic view of the garden. There’s also a terrace next to the yard, where you can grill on sunny days and enjoy a glass of wine from local wineries. Welcome! We’re looking forward to your visit! The mild climate in the Ahr valley provides ideal conditions, whether you want to take a bike ride along the Ahr-bike trail, hike the Red Trail, spend an exciting afternoon in the forest-climbing park or enjoy a wine tasting at the many wineries in a comfortable restaurant: the Ahr Valley offers its visitors the right thing. Easily reached on foot is the beautifully landscaped Koehlerhof golf course. Or you can be pampered in the Wellness Welt at the new Ahr-Resort Bad Neuenahr with its bubbling thermal pools and sauna landscapes or enjoy a game in the local casino. Among the attractions in the Ahr valley is, of course, the Roman Villa Museum, where you can get a very detailed insight into Roman provincial life from nearly 2000 years ago. The excavation site is situated in Ahrweiler at the Red Wine Trail. History buffs can also visit since 2008 in Marienthal in the vineyards of the documentation site bunker. Here visitors to the underground world are shown the former government bunker, until recently the subject of absolute secrecy.
