Converted Shepherds Cottage in Traditional Cork Forest, with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, kitchen & private terrace and a family shared swimming pool is available. Situated in beautiful countryside of cork trees, olive groves and vineyards, on the foothills of the Serra D’ Ossa 20 km south of Estremoz. Ideal for sight seeing in a scenic and historic part of Portugal and within easy reach by motorway of Lisbon (2 hours) and Spain (1 hour). There are a myriad of activities to enjoy on the farm. For the walkers or mountain bikers there are kilometers of footpaths around the 540 hectare farm for you to explore and for those wishing to venture further afield, the nearby peaks offer unrivalled views of the surrounding countryside. Serra d’Ossa lies at 500 metres above sea level and boasting one of the driest climates in Europe. The absence of light pollution makes this an astronomers’ paradise. Twitchers can enjoy seeking out over 70 species of birds in the unique habitat provided by the cork forest, several of our past guests are members of the RSPB and have made lists of the birds they have seen / heard. Here is a list of a few: White Stork, Booted Eagle, Red Kite, Kestrel, Cuckoo, Tawny Owl, Hoopoe, Red-Rumped Swallow, Great Bustard, Little Bustard and Bee Eater. Visitors to the local damn include black winged stilts and the occasional avocet. Very occasionally, bustards can be seen in the lower plains. Within a one-hour drive from the farm, you can also explore nearby towns including Evora (a UNESCO World Heritage site), Estremoz famed for its Saturday morning market, Vila Viçosa with its two royal palaces, Reguengos and even neighbouring Spain. Historical tours of Evora can also be arranged through a private guide. Vineyards : While predominantly a hilly cork forest , a vineyard has recently been planted in an open valley producing Alicante Bouschet, Aragonêz, Touriga Nactional and Syrah quality grapes. Most of the grapes are sold; however a selection of the best quality grapes are retained for the production of a high quality red wine sold in Portugal under the Cem Reis label, and in the Netherlands under the Het Tientje name. This wine has been awarded silver medals in Wine Masters Challenge (Portugal), Mundus Vini (Germany), and Challenge Du Vin (France). Next year a white wine will also be produced from viognier grapes. Our wine and some products are available for purchase onsite.

Start the day with a lazy breakfast on the patio at this hip duplex with an open layout. This peaceful hilltop spot in a restored historic villa boasts a light-filled mezzanine bedroom, exposed ceiling beams, and deep skylights for an airy ambiance. Keeping the original architectural layout of the facade, the interior of Duque's Villa was carefully refurbished to maintain the original wooden floors and window coverings, the high ceilings and the impressive staircase, as well as some furniture elements that tell us little secrets about the past. All suites are designed to enjoy a privileged view of the Tagus River and the spacious garden that surrounds the property. With a comfortable seating area, a kitchenette and a private bathroom, each of the suites features an unique and exclusive interior design, which includes typical details but with a modern Portuguese touch. The result is an elegant, distinctive and certainly royal atmosphere that will make you feel like a Duke. All guests have acces to the property's garden, parking, 1st floor balcony and reception area. Usually you will find someone at our reception on working hours, but besides that we are always available for an emergency. If you need help contact us to our mobile number, we never turn it off. This is a residential area very close to the city center, but removed just enough to guarantee a tranquil, village-like feel. This eastern, industrial part of the city sits between Lisbon’s historic heart and Nations Park, constructed for Expo '98. Within a short walk, you can reach the Nacional Tile Museum or the Fado Museum, and typical quarters like Alfama or Graça. You can also opt for the beautiful bicycle path along the river or public transports which are also nearby. This area is getting one of the trendiest places in town (you will not find many tourists here... yet!), and there are a number of different shops, cafes, bars, and restaurants nearby that are worth knowing - we would be happy to make recommendations and can help you book an appointment or reservation on your behalf. The house was recently refurbished and enlarged with a modern and design construction enjoying the view and surroundings . You can see it from the top of the Serra de Sintra, to Guincho to Cabo Espichel. A stone's throw from the pedestrian paths of the Serra de Sintra and its monuments and next to good restaurants , cafes with good atmosphere , the small village has a supermarket and pharmacy for your tranquility. Guests have at their disposal a house with 2 bedrooms, living room and kitchen, totally private and access to a large garden with an infinite pool where they can enjoy the wonderful view. I live on the property and am available to share stories and information about the region. I love cycling and know the Serra like the back of my hand. I can share the secrets of the mountains and advise the best restaurants in the region. Malveira da Serra, picturesque village next to Cascais and Lisbon (20 min), with hiking trails in Serra de Sintra and its monuments. Guincho Beach and its wild dunes with their unique beauty are a paradise for surfing/kite-surfing/windsurfing. I advise you to use your own car.
