Cottage holiday rentals in Aberdeen

My husband and I and our 20 year old daughter had a wonderful stay at Butler Cottage. The estate grounds are amazing with a mix of woodland and farm fields scattered over the hills. We enjoyed daily walks done and along the river. If your animal lovers like we are it was extra special. The Highland cows and sheep add beauty to the scenery, but the deer, hares, pheasants and other birds of prey really add the wow factor. The cottage is full of charm with an old world feel. It’s been very smartly renovated and decorated and is in great condition. We loved the farmhouse style kitchen which is open to a comfortable living room with high ceilings. The built in beds are beautifully done and although on the small side we enjoyed the authentic touch. The wood stoves on each end of the cottage work well to add extra warmth in the evenings. Ross was a gracious host. The place was with fresh flowers and a basket of fresh goods from the farm. He even had the fire started for the hot tub.

Our extended family have just had the pleasure of staying here for a long weekend. It provided a peaceful location for us all to unwind without any disturbance. The property was lovely and it is nice to see hosts invest in their property. Having stayed in many Airbnb's around the world, they are often lacking basic implements or only buying cheap crockery. If you are after a relaxing get away for your family then place this location on your wish list.

We had the most incredible stay at Mayen Estate! From the moment we arrived, Ross and Valerie made us feel so welcome. Ross was always helpful, polite, and attentive to every detail, ensuring we had everything we needed. Their hospitality truly made the experience unforgettable. I honestly don’t think I will ever forget the house and the stay at Mayen estate. The estate itself is beyond magical. Even in the depths of winter, when outdoor activities were limited, the sheer beauty and charm of the place were more than enough. The highlight for us was the hot tub—it was such a treat to relax in after a chilly day, adding a perfect touch of luxury to our stay. Every moment spent here felt like a dream. If you’re looking for a serene, magnificent escape where you’ll be cared for by amazing hosts, Mayen Estate is the place to be. We can’t recommend it enough and look forward to returning someday!

Our stay was flawless! From great food to an amazing, helpful host we had a great time. The Cottage was clean and welcoming and the host Alan spend time giving us food recommendations. Edzell is a lovely, quiet village with amazing restaurants and friendly people. Will definitely be back!

The best Airbnb we have ever stayed in. Beautiful location, cozy, relaxing and peaceful. Property had everything we needed. Stunning views from the Hot Tub. Host recommend booking a meal at local hotel and it was fantastic. Would highly recommend Brae Cottage.

Bailies cottage is situated amongst the picturesque scenery of the Mayen estate , a beautiful tranquil place to stay within the Deveron Valley close to stunning beaches . Our stay was made special by our host Ross who was amazing and very thoughtful throughout ,with attention to detail, clear communication and his friendly manner at all times ….. what a gem , thank you!!! We will definitely be returning .

We’re normally ready to go home after a trip away but this time we did not want to leave! It’s a wonderfully peaceful place with all the amenities you could need and an array of thoughtful extras supplied by the host. Our dog Nellie settled in so fast and loved the garden. Crowmallie cottage was absolutely beautiful! It is set in the most beautiful peaceful location, hidden amongst stunning trees that looked to be 100’s of years old. When we arrived there was a lovely hand written note from Sue and Jim, such a nice touch. The cottage was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. It had everything you needed and more! Sue and Jim messaged to make sure we had settled in and then popped over the next day to introduce themselves and check if we needed anything. Such a nice place, we will definitely be back! Our second stay in this fantastic cottage situated in a beautiful setting; the view is stunning. The interior is modern and very well appointed with two shower rooms. Located at the end of a long (beautiful) drive it is not far to farm shop for supplies, meals and much more! Banchory village is about 15 minutes drive away. On this stay we visited NT Crathes Castle, Haddo House and Pitmedden - all with amazing gardens. Catriona was again a great host and communicator - Thankyou

Fabulous stay at Myrtle Cottage which was very well equipped for all our needs and immaculate. We especially loved the wood burning stove and both front and back gardens for views and sunshine well into the evening. The cottage is in a quaint fishing village with beautiful scenery, a well stocked local shop and friendly pub with an extensive menu of local food. Very central for touring, favourite places were St Cyrus beach, Stonehaven harbour & Dunnoter Castle with plenty nice beaches and cafes all up the east coast. Steve was the perfect host responding very quickly to any little queries.

Debbie was very accomodating to our needs during our stay and provided a cosy, peaceful cottage to rest in throughout our busy days. Very friendly and attentive. Thank you!

This is a very spacious, calm and relaxing space, perfect for even up to six people to chill and not be on top of each other. Incredibly clean and welcoming, a true 'home from home', it has everything you need to enjoy any type of holiday (we stayed in, as my parents are elderly, but I would go back for a walking/exploring holiday too). It would be lovely in the summer months as well, with a great backyard decking area. We loved watching the sunrise in the kitchen; it felt little a little Christmas bubble! And I have to mention the wonderful cake Marion made for us - everyone enjoyed it, just perfect with a cup of tea! Thanks again, and have a great New Year's eve and 2025. Willison and Myra were very welcoming hosts, who showed us round the house when we arrived. What a lovely cottage it was, with spacious rooms and beautiful views across the countryside. The rooms were well equipped and immaculately clean. There were little extras in the kitchen, which were very much appreciated. All four of us agreed that we would love to return here in the future. It would be wonderful to visit in the summer, to enjoy the large conservatory and to further explore the surrounding countryside.

Stayed here with my husband and daughter, who is considering attending the university. We wanted to be close to the uni, and this cottage is literally across the street! We loved the proximity to the historic buildings, the cobblestone streets, and the proximity to the bus routes. The cottage itself is very charming and comfortable. Decor is so fun and unique, the beds were so soft and comfortable, the shower was great—overall very clean and cozy! The owners were also very attentive, kind and responsive. Highly recommend!

We stayed here over Christmas while visiting family in the area and it was the perfect place to stay! We definitely plan to be back next time we are in the area. The house was lovely and comfortable to stay in - I wish we had been staying longer!

Had a really lovely stay with my partner and children. Was a great location for attending comic con, brilliant access to main A road and parking. Only 1 issue is the fridge alarm was going off with a high pitch sound and control panel not working to switch off but we shut the door to the kitchen and could no longer hear it. Many thanks for allowing us to stay.
