From the "auction house", adjacent to the Beemster World Heritage Site, and the Mijzen nature reserve, you can enjoy beautiful walks and cycling. Or find peace on the water with our canoes, recommended! Our atmospheric cottage is located in the back of the garden, and is built from the old building materials from the old auction of Avenhorn. Conveniently located 10-40 km from: Hoorn-Enkhuizen-Medemblik, Edam-Volendam-Marken. But certainly also Alkmaar, the Zaanse schans, Amsterdam and not to forget, the coast of Noord Holland.

Description Bed and breakfast In a Glasshouse is located in Oostwoud, in the heart of Westfriesland. It is a cottage-style home located behind our glass studio, in the deep waterfront garden. It can be rented as a B&B but also as a vacation home for a longer period. There is, among other things, a Grand Cafe De Post around the corner where you can eat delicious food and a pizza eatery Giovanni Midwoud that also delivers. A motorboat is available for a fee. Enjoy a stylish experience at this centrally-located characteristic place. You are in the countryside, in a rural area. You can walk to the lake (Markermeer) and have a swim. There are some restaurants, the famous cheese-market and you can rent a boat to see Edam through te canals. You can visit beautiful old villages near by on our bikes. In twenty kilometers you are in Amsterdam city. There is a very good connection by bus, it takes twenty minutes. A comfortable chance to visit the museums.

Windmill close to Amsterdam!!

Our romantic windmill (1874) is just a few miles from Amsterdam in wide green fields and along a meandering river: "Gein". Easy access to the A'dam. by car, train or by bike. You have the entire windmill to yourself. Three floors, 3 bedrooms with double beds: it easily sleeps 6, a kitchen, living, 2 toilets and a bathroom with bath/shower. Bikes available + kayak. Just leave some extra money if you did use them. No need to reserve ahead. Great swimming water and small landing just in front.

B&B Wellness "De Bourgondische Lelie"

Our B&B is equipped with all modern facilities such as a modern kitchen, Philips Hue lighting, smart TV and Quooker. The cozy veranda is complete with a luxury Jacuzzi and wood stove. The B&B with large private garden and unobstructed view is completely shielded from the farmhouse by a fence and is only accessible to you as a guest. From the Finnish barrel sauna on the adjacent terrace, you can look out over the picturesque city meadows. A delicious breakfast of your choice is optional.

Room with a View

On the second floor of a rebuilt traditional Waterland house is this beautifully renovated apartment, once used as a hayloft. Located in the protected natural area of the Zeevang polder land (EU Natura 2000), famous for its birds like godwits, spoonbills, and lapwings. The view it offers is among the most beautiful in the Netherlands. Middelie is very near Amsterdam (25 km). Other historical places like Edam, Volendam, Marken, Hoorn, and Alkmaar are never far away (5–30 min. by car).

House on the waterfront

Comfortably and newly renovated farmhouse with two bedrooms in a small village directly located at the Markermeer. It's quiet and surrounded by nature with lots of water birds. There is a terrace at fishing and swimming water with great sunsets. The house caters for 4 people. There is a well equipped kitchen and smart TV with Netflix. Well suited for a long weekend or longer holidays for relaxing, cycling and visiting Noord Holland. Amsterdam as well is at half an hour by car or bus

Oosthuizen Studio, for short and longer stays.

The studio is the top floor of our back house, with its own entrance, small shower/toilet and kitchenette. The space is 10 by 6 meters, overlooking the Beemsterringvaart. It's a 10-minute walk to the bus stop. Bus 314 will take you one way to the historic city of Hoorn and the other way to Amsterdam Centraal. The bus takes 40 minutes to get there. It is best to buy tickets in advance of your visit to Amsterdam travel tickets so that you can use all public transport (26/33 euros)

Studio located on the canal in historic Edam. MAXIMUM 2 people! Wonderful hiking, rent an electric boat to sail through the canal, swimming in the IJsselmeer or with a bicycle to rent on the road. Special shops within walking distance. Not to mention the culinary offers of the in surrounding places such as Volendam, Monnickendam and a pancake in Broek. Cultural trip to Amsterdam? Reachable by bus in just half an hour. Quietly enjoy the waterfront, also an option.

It’s decorated with modern art and vintage details. From the studio you will step out on your private terrace. Studio offers free coffee and tea as well as free WiFi. Breakfast is available upon request (€12,50 per person). Situated 25 minutes from Amsterdam. Please note the studio is best accessible by car.
