Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Yancey County

Holy fireflies! Went to this spot to propose to my girlfriend, and the amount of fireflies added a magical touch. Couple that with a beautiful sunset, great view of the stars, and lightning storm over the mountains, I couldn't have planned for a better spot. You could easily view the big dipper and scorpio constellations from this spot. Very clean and a fun drive to get there! Only downside was the fire pit not working, but I attribute that to the previous night's rainstorm. Would recommend bringing a lighter just in case. Otherwise such a magical spot that we'll always remember. Obviously she said yes, but thank you for all the extras! Even used the chess set pieces as props for my proposal, thank you! Everyone should scope this pad.

This place is very secluded in the woods, very scenic! I saw a bunch of deer! It was very clean, WiFi was in and out, not a great signal downstairs where the bedroom is. Place was very clean, great for my short stay. One thing, which Michele did warn beforehand, there is no cell service for a mile or 2 when coming in. Waze took me up Howell Rd, which is not correct! If you are coming from the south on Rebels Creek Rd go past Howell and then a left on Castanea St. Very easy once I figured that out. Also make sure to get groceries beforehand. Your only real option is the Walmart in Spruce Pine, the Ingles has been closed since the hurricane. Overall a great stay! All brand new appliances and very pleasant! A+ Will definitely stay here again!

We were welcomed by 4 beautiful deers, loved the scenery and peaceful atmosphere. The home was equipped with everything you need and was very clean and organized. Highly recommend it!

We had an incredible stay – the house was cozy and the creek was beautiful. Fantastic host. We would definitely come back!

The house was perfect for our weekend getaway. It was close to everywhere we wanted to be and yet it still felt private. We look forward to booking this place again. Hopefully next month again in the fall and anytime one of our favorite artists comes to town for a concert.

We loved staying at the Burley Stick Farm House. It was a perfect home base for exploring the local area for some first time visitors to the region. It was super close in proximity to the venue of the wedding we attended. We loved observing the wildlife - turkeys and cicadas - and felt very welcomed and at home. The house is super cute and comfortable - perfect and exactly what we needed for a weekend getaway.

Great find … We loved it! The place was very comfortable and cozy. It’s literally right across from the pool which we loved! There were a few things that were missing but Kristina and her husband were immediately responsive and showed up within an hour to provide us with the missing things! We would definitely go back in a heartbeat!! Recommend highly!

An absolute gem, tucked in hills of green, with morning mist, birdsong and twinkling fireflies. I will miss coffee under the wisteria arbor, listening to Sam’s Branch burbling past, Whiskers the cat curling up in my lap. Deep peace lives here.

It is very cozy for a short stay. It is about 14 minutes to Grandfather Mountain. Great communicating with Amy prior arrival, she greeted us at the entrance.

A great place to stay in asheville! Rom and Dawn were incredibly welcoming and the place had all we needed to have a great weekend! Highly recommend.

The place was great, even though it was a very quick stay. The mattresses were very comfortable, place was clean & inviting. My wife really admired their garden and has now decided we are adding a butterfly garden to our farmstead. We would def stay again.

This is my second stay here, which I rebooked on the spot during my 1-night stay last year. I stayed 5 nights this time to attend a dance weekend at nearby Warren Wilson College, a mere 7-minute drive. The space was very clean and well equipped abd felt very private, despite actually being attached to the main house. The hosts were attentive and responsive to my needs and were friendly, helpful, abd informative when we happened to run into each other outside. Wildlife was abundant, and I really enjoyed watching whatever might happen along from my own front porch. Fireflies at night, birds galore, roosters crowing nearby, chipmunks, butterflies, and yes! I actually saw 2 bears one day, each at a separate time, wandering on different sides of the yard. One of hosts alerted me the day before that there were 2 in the yard, but I missed seeing that (he did send me photos), and the day I saw the bears, I sent him video and he sent me a photo of a coyote that had been out there earlier.

Paul’s place was the perfect base for some hiking in the area. Paul was a great host. We had everything we needed especially a quiet spot to unwind and rest.

This place was just right for two people on a quick trip to Asheville. So thankful for the stock of spices and oil to cook with. The Body wash and the shampoo & conditioner was a nice extra. We had everything we needed.

Beautiful and peaceful place to relax and get away from everything but close to Asheville and other areas I wanted to visit. Very well put together and thought out. I enjoyed the swing on the back porch in the mornings. The spa like bathroom is also very relaxing. For this trip, I was on my own and appreciated that there was a secluded feeling but the owners were above and available if needed. Everything I needed for a peaceful get away was provided. I would definitely stay here again if in the area.

We stayed at Lynn’s place for a few days while visiting family nearby. We appreciated the clear instructions and easy check-in. The Airbnb was very clean and comfortable- we were able to find everything we needed with ease. There are a lot of thoughtful touches that make this place special (we loved the towel warmer in the bathroom). Lynn was very friendly and accommodating and provided a comfy high chair for our 10 month old baby. Thank you!

What a gorgeous condo! Tina was kind, helpful, and responsive. The condo was beautifully furnished, spotless, quiet, peaceful. Each night we’d listen to the spring peepers while we watched the sunset from the patio or living room windows—both of which had incredibly amazing views of the mountains. We appreciated as well that this was relatively convenient for a multitude of hikes in the area.

Beautiful condominium with gorgeous views! The location was in a lovely mountain community but with stores and eating nearby. The condominium was lovely, very clean, had a very nicely equipped kitchen, and again the view from the windows and deck area were beautiful!

That view sure doesn't disappoint! The location was outstanding and the condo a perfect spot for a ski vacation at Hatley Pointe. I recommend visiting the resort or at least eat at Smoke & Timber. Sabrina was super responsive to all the messages to troubleshoot issues with appliances and what not. Love how they remodeled the condo. I actually kinda wished it was on the 2nd floor as the upstairs folks were pretty noisy coming in and out. Sounded as if they walked in wearing their ski boots, but was quiet other than that. So many deer in the neighborhood wearing their cute, fuzzy winter coats but easy to get in and out from the interstate. Will definitely return for family get-togethers in the area as the Appalachian trail is one of my bucket list items. What a great area.

We had a lovely stay and Eliber was fantastic to work with. We needed last minute accommodations when the location we were scheduled to stay at was turned into a mud field from the heavy rains. We were in NC volunteering with an organization working Disaster rebuild from Hurricane Helene. When we found the listing, we were exhausted from a 9hr work day, filthy, hungry and cranky. We were seriously contemplating sleeping in our truck in a Walmart parking lot! Within minutes of our request, Eliber responded and starting giving us instructions and details AND went over to make sure the loft apartment was ready for guests. Totally worth the $.

This condo is nestled in a beautiful location, surrounded by a cool breeze from the trees, and a gorgeous peek at the mountains through the trees. The condo is well equipped, spacious, and cozy. The beds are firm for those who like a firm mattress. The deck is relaxing and inviting, and the nearby walking areas are peaceful, but mountainous for our love for exercise. Parking is great, and Burnsville has a lot to offer.

Lovely well-equipped condo in a beautiful area of the North Carolina mountains. The three levels were perfect for the four adults and two children in our party. Very quiet and peaceful with great scenery.

This condo is very cozy and welcoming. We have visited twice now and each time we’ve found it to be very clean and stocked with everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. The mountain views from the living room and porch are wonderful!
