This is a private guesthouse nestled in nature in the quiet southern part of Yakushima Island. Right before your eyes, a river flows, and you can enjoy a special time surrounded by the forest and the starry sky. The standout features are the open-air bath and the sauna. You can enjoy a unique experience of reconnecting with nature in the forest while listening to the babbling of the river—an experience you can only have here. Let the greenery soothe you during the day, and at night, unwind your mind and body under a sky full of stars. The accommodation fee includes all of the following. ・Open-air bath and sauna (please use by 10 pm) ・Sauna poncho & sauna hat ・ Towels (additional towels can also be provided) This is a stay unique to Yakushima, where you can enjoy the 'luxury of doing nothing' and 'me time' in the midst of nature. It is right next to the river, so you can swim. There is also a deck by the river, so please use it for breakfast or coffee. Relax in a place surrounded by nature and water, typical of Yakushima. On the opposite side of the river, diagonally, there is a neighbour's garden, so it is not a completely private space.We recommend bringing your own swimwear. This sauna stove is a Japanese-made dry sauna stove.You can enjoy a high-temperature sauna.

Entire cottage, Onuma Snapper Lock, private forest, glamping

Snapper Lock is a private cottage at the foot of Mt. Mocchomu in Onana, southern Yakushima. The nearest bus stop is a 6-minute walk. It is a quiet place surrounded by nature. The large living room of about 32 ㎡ can accommodate up to 5 people. (One is a sofa bed) The deck has an outdoor table and hammock, and a completely private forest spreads out. You can relax while taking a forest bath. Parking is also available for 2-3 vehicles. There is also a fire pit on the premises. The building was self-built by the owner. The building materials used are Japanese cedar and local cedar. The walls are plastered with lacquer, and the kitchen is made from recycled waste materials. We aim to be an inn that is friendly to both people and the environment, by not providing disposable amenities and keeping equipment to a minimum. There are insects and wild animals on Yakushima, so be careful to keep them out by closing the screens when you open the windows. Note: Several times a year, from 8 am to 9 am during the rainy season, large numbers of "feather ants" will appear on the island. They are attracted to lights, so we ask that you close the windows and turn off the lights in the room. Thank you for your understanding.

Holiday House Nagata/200m walk to the beach

200 metres from Nagata beach. Private and fully self holiday contained house. 2 bedrooms with seperate bathroom and toilet. Full kitchen and clothes washing and drying machine. Holiday House Nagata is located in the western part of Yakushima Island, close to Inaka beach, the best sea turtle spawning beach in Japan, and you can walk to Maehama beach from home.The sunset view from the beach is beautiful, and there are Yokogawa Gorge, Yakushima Lighthouse, and Seibu Forest Road nearby.Since it is far from the trailhead, it is highly recommended to rent a car.If you only come to Jomon Cedar climbing, Nagata is far away, so please look at the map to consider it.The May-July 2021 Sea Turtle Watch was canceled due to COVID-19.Please note that you will not be able to get off the beach after 8pm.If you go to the beach at 5:00 in the morning, it is recommended because it is possible to meet sea turtles.

Fisherman〜ペシュール　大自然と共に暮らす家

The owner was a fisherman, so we named it pêcheur (fisherman). Following his will to avoid creating an environment where people gathering at the house would cause the fish to flee, we use environmentally friendly detergents as much as possible. What you can enjoy during your stay at this house is the quietness. 360 degrees, the green jumps into your eyes. Come and be healed from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, surrounded by nature. The starry sky at night is also a must-see. It is our wish that you will be embraced by the stars and remember the original landscape. Hachimanju Tea Garden and Jomon Farm are within walking distance. Relatively close to Miyanoura, Awa, and the airport, the location is excellent for sightseeing, shopping, and bus travel.

South Coast House Entire self contained home/貸切別荘

South Coast House is a traditional Japanese style home located on the very south coast of the island. It is very private, surrounded by nature with great sea and mountain views. Two natural outdoor hot spring Onsens - Harauchi and Yudomari are just a few minutes drive away. There is also some hiking, swimming and snorkelling spots close by. It is best to have a rental car as we are quite far from from the main towns, restaurants and most popular hiking trails. サウスコーストハウスは屋久島の地杉で建てられた日本家屋です。

Fisherman's living experience inn: Fuku no Ki

Yakushima is famous for mountains, but the sea, fish are also attractive. This inn is a bit inconvenient, but we treat you like family. And you can eat delicious fresh fish. The building is a converted fisherman's barn. We will cook fish together, heat Goemon bath with firewood, and provide you with a stay as if you were living with us. One cooking experience is included during your stay. On other days, you will stay without meals. Optional fishing boat tour (extra charge) is also available.

Miyanoura Port Convenience: Riverside Entire home

We chose our accommodation's location carefully to make it as convenient as possible. Yakushima is quite remote and doesn't have many transportation options. Yakushima is relatively large, covering about 100 kilometers. There are restaurants and supermarkets scattered around, but it can be challenging to find rental cars or taxis. →You can walk to popular restaurants in just 3 minutes, so you can have a great meal and easily return. Additionally, a supermarket is only a 7-minute walk away.

Ocean view guest house Yakushima - Cottage

This location is very quiet & secret place for vacation home. There is a small Tatami room like a tea celemony room that you can use as yoga, meditation etc. for your private time. However, no kitchen facility. We provide an electric pot,cups,small dishies, refrigerater, microwave and oven grills toaster, so you can bring some food etc. There is sea and forest view from the guest cottage. Cottage is made in Japanese style with aromatic local cedar wood , open beams, and Shoji screens.

Winner of the 2024 IDA Design award and the 2025 NY Architectural Design Award, the Nest was designed by architect Tsukasa Ono using only local materials. It sits on six acres of wild forest and garden, and is a sublime base to explore Yakushima. We are walking distance to a supermarket, restaurants, cafes, and bakeries, a ten minute drive to world-famous Hirauchi Kaichu onsen, and a twenty minute walk to Onoiada Onsen. Shimayado Yakushima is 10 minutes from popular hot springs and a large supermarket! A guest house that is rented out as a whole.

This guesthouse was renovated from a villa into a modern one and opened in 2022. We have everything I, the owner, feel you need, so you can have a comfortable stay. It is close to popular hot springs such as the famous Onoaida Onsen and Kaichu Onsen, and Senhiro Falls and Toroki Falls are within 10 minutes. In addition, it is about 5 minutes by car to one of the few large supermarkets on Yakushima, so it is very convenient for shopping.
