We were very appreciative of all the help we were given by Stephen so that we could could continue the Coleridge Way, which is very close by. Comfy bed, quiet location, off road parking in a very quiet road. Private outside seating in garden. Warm radiator in shower room. Good WiFi signal. Best welcome goodies we have ever received! Although no cooker, we were offered the opportunity to use the hosts' if needed. Three Electric Charging points at the nearby Pub Rest and Be Thankful. We would highly recommend.

Fairytale cottage by stream - Exmoor National Park

CharlotteRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Beautiful, quirky cottage in a great spot with lovely garden and stream. We had an amazing 3 night stay with 11yr old, 8yr old and our dog in this lovely cottage. Great walks from the door, an easy walk to the pub and lovely beaches a bit further afield. It's so peaceful and surpassed expectations, shame kids had to go back to school as we would have loved to stay longer. Hosts are super responsive and really helpful. Worth noting there are a lot of ticks on the moor so worth bringing spray and tick removers. Thanks and we hope to come back.

Stonecrackers Wood Cabin

MartinRating, 5 stars1 week ago
A lovely stay in gorgeous surrounds! The scenery is beautiful, and the silence at night makes for a truly restorative experience. For future visitors, it’s helpful to keep in mind that "off-grid" means limited refrigeration space—we initially brought more food than the mini fridge could accommodate. Since this is a working farm, there may be interactions with livestock, as we experienced when the neighboring sheep wandered into the meadow. For those with dogs unfamiliar with farm life, this might require some flexibility. However, Hadyn and Caroline went above and beyond to ensure our dog could enjoy the space—at one point even rounding up the sheep themselves! Their dedication made all the difference and added to the charm of this truly special retreat.

1 Lower Spire - A secluded cottage getaway

MylesRating, 5 stars2 months ago
Neither James nor the house can take responsibility for the weather, but what we had was unendingly spectacular. 7 straight days of sunshine while, apparently, it rained in Spain. This is VERY unusual for the area, but really made the moore and farmland surrounding the cottage shine. Even if it had rained and been blustery, the cottage is fitted with an excellent heating system and a wood fire in the living room. Hotwater for the kitchen and bathrooms is prompt and plentiful. Recently renovated with good (rather than cheap) furniture choices made, the house is in great shape. The kitchen was well stocked and while the oven was a bit mysterious to operate, everything worked well. Pastoral by day, truly dark sky by night, and a strong selection of both gastro-pubs and wonderful footpaths on which to reach them right out the door from the property.
