MOST AMAZING CABIN!! Can't possibly say enough about how fantastic the hosts and property are. We would have been happy spending our entire vacation here. So close to the parks and "Mount Doom" and other LOTR locations -- the entire back side of the cabin is a view of "Mt Doom" and there's a LOTR Risk game!! Pool table was so fun to use. Bed was super comfy. Used the washer/dryer (laundry detergent, no dryer sheets) and dishwasher, bathrooms (remember to bring your own toiletries), kitchen -- all very well stocked with cooking utensils and basics (salt pepper oil - I think there was sugar/flour too?). There's plunger coffee maker. Appreciated the OJ and crumpets and scrumptious home made raspberry preserves. Hot tub on the back deck fantastic too. Deb and Dave so friendly and flexible with our schedule. You won't believe how private and secluded the cabin feels - perched up on top of the hill. We really hope to stay here again one day - LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE!!! BEST HOSTS!

Beautiful cabin with stunning views of Mt Ruapehu. This cabin is absolutely gorgeous with special features throughout. A very well appointed kitchen and stunning bathroom complete the cabin. There is a lovely outside bath in which to star gaze! Will come back when I can stay longer - just lovely!

My stay at this little cabin was absolutely delightful. The place is as clean and comfortable as described on paper, and the only difference is that it has even more charm in person. Can't recommend enough.

We had a lovely, relaxing stay. Was very pleased to find a fridge and freezer as we weren’t sure if there would be one. Lovely clean area and comfortable bedding. Looks small but is spacious and homely. Amazing outdoor bath which was perfect for the cold weather we had. Awesome communication from James. Thanks so much. Great little cabin right on the riverside. very peaceful and private. Loved the outdoor firepit and outdoor bath. Very cosy cabin! Gr4eat communication from the start. Will definitely be back

We stayed at the kiwi cabin and it was a fun experience during winter. The thermal pool certainly made it fun. The kitchen is well equipped.

Comfortable and cosy. Lovely spa pool and fire with firewood and kindling ready to go. Only complaint was the dim lighting in the living area which made reading and board games hard to see. Other than that, we loved it and would recommend to others.

Very friendly, kind hosts. Thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor hot pool and peaceful surroundings. Enjoyed our stay immensely!

Our stay was fantastic, comfortable, and exactly what we needed before the long drive back home. The volunteers were enthusiastic and made us feel right at home. It was a little hot inside the room but that was easily solved by leaving the door open while we were inside.

We had a great time in Ohakune -- the cabin is a holiday property so is a little rustic, but had all the facilities we needed, including a clothes dryer, and is quite close to town. We enjoyed the views toward the mountain, though couldn't see too much of the mountain itself because of the low cloud. The cabin is an ideal place to stay for a few days in winter or summer, though the two bedrooms are closely connected (the only exit from one bedroom is through the other) and there is only one double / queen bed, so is probably more suitable for a family with young kids.

Such a welcoming place to stay and I felt very looked after. Lisa and her team are exceptional cooks which added to the experience!

The communication from the start has been great. We have a baby and they allowed us a late check out just to help us out. They were easy to contact and communicate with. The place itself is beautiful especially with the river flowing. Everything we needed was there. The outdoor bbq is a nice feature to have. Overall very happy with this place and enjoyed our time there. Would come back and stay there again.

Lovely, clean premises, nice and warm as well, would highly recommend staying here as it is as close to town and the mountain/ Turoa sky field. You wont be disappointed.

Very nice off-grid cabins on a permaculture farm. Lisa is super friendly and has interesting stories to share. We met other campers and volunteers, and really enjoyed it. The cabins are small and cute and clean. Only for people who are not put-off by (clean and relatively smell-free) composting toilets and solar heated showers though, we go camping a lot so it was not a problem for us.

We loved our stay. Great place for extended whanau holiday, plenty of space to accomodate. Many amenities and felt like being at home with anything you could need and more. Serena's soaps were beautiful and such a lovely additional treat Nga mihi nui

Very comfortable and clean stay right by our hiking location. Straight-forward check-in with clear instructions to was super helpful. The site has a lot more amenities than we were expecting, including a large communal kitchen, games room and dining area as well as extra bathrooms.
