Great character place to stay. Cool and quirky decoration. Loved the trees. The fire was essential in winter in a cold snap. The fire burned too hot and went out. This meant that it burned more firewood than it should have and needed relighting in the mornings. But there was plenty of wood so not a major. Instructions to set the time on the stove would also be useful. Overall though we loved it. There is nowhere quite like Apiti and we had a great time at the pub meeting Aaron and his team.

We loved our stay with Hannah and Marcus, both so friendly. Beautiful surrounds, and enjoyed the calves and fellow deer in the paddock with the accommodation - bit of a novelty! Stunning countryside and had a lovely walk on the farm. Interesting history the building being an old gun club! Cold frosty mornings but we were nice and warm inside with heaters on. Cooked our meals in the kitchen. Very clean and tidy. Nicely decorated and peaceful. We had a wonderful stay!

Best Air BnB I've ever stayed in. The original fittings of the bank have been maintained, you can imagine just what it used to be like. But at the same time, it's a comfortable stay. And there's a bathroom in the vault. How cool is that? It's a really, really good bathroom too and super clean. The kitchen is like a ship's gallery - small, but very usable, with everything you need to make lunch or simple meals. The continental breakfast was nice. Annelies is a great host - clear communication, super friendly and had good suggestions for bush walks in the local area (I recommend Āpiti Scenic Reserve if you're into botany).

Debbie's Countryside Cottage in Taihape township delivered small town NZ comfort and hospitality+. Left feeling very spoilt. The cottage was warm and welcoming on arrival. Stayed 2 nights but wished it had been 4 nights. A real home away from home. No skimping on ammenities and utilities. Everything very neat and organised internally. Wifi strong, super comfortable bed, plenty hot water, huge heat pump, full sized fridge, oven, washing machine facilities if required. Spacious private bathroom. Well stocked pantry items and crockery/cooking utensils. Perfect......and guess what?......I'll be a return visitor soon. Taihape township.....gateway to the beautiful Rangitikei District. The general farming and inland areas between Taihape and Hunterville offer a huge range of things to explore and experience. Green paddocks and hillslopes present everywhere, beautiful farming landscapes .....a credit to the pioneers, present-day families and communities that have, and do, call this area home.
