Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Tanzania

I have been visiting Zanzibar for years. This place is a great. I highly recommend. I hang out pretty late. So have your transportation arranged. Place is a great location, not far from the beach or local night life. In the daytime I had not problem walking to the main road (<5mins) hailing a Boda Boda (Motobike taxi). But it can be an hit or miss.

My family had a wonderful 4 nights staying at Margo’s property - very private, very large functional bedrooms with fans, air conditioning and private ensuites, plus a separate fully self contained 3rd bedroom. A beautiful pool, 24 hour security onsite, daily house cleaning by Ester. And the dogs were super friendly and great company. If you like football, pack your boots and enjoy a game with the locals on the pitch next door. If you like tapas or just really good food - recommend having dinner at “ To Be” which is approx 1km from Margo’s. Couldn’t find fault with the accommodation or the lovely Margo as a wonderful host, who was available, responsive but also gave us total privacy.

Christina and her staff mama Fau and Edwin were super hosts during my five weeks stay. I felt like a member of Mama Christima family, she made me feel right at home. her warmth friendliness created a friendly atmosphere,her responsiveness made my stay seamless and enjoyable. She recommended many places to visit.Highly recommend the place. I will definitely comeback to her beautiful home 🏡 🙏❤️

Amazing place to stay! The beds are incredibly comfortable. The host is super responsive and proactive. The gardener during daytime and the night guard are really kind and welcoming. The fact that we are able to do our own washing in the laundry room is definitely a plus! We had a little water issue which was solved super quickly. The host came to check within a couple of minutes and even refunded some amount for the inconvenience, which was really appreciated. We will stay here again! For sure!

Dolphin House is a truly unique place and experience. The position directly on the beach is priceless - I could never get sick of the view! There's a good balance of home comforts and the privacy of the house with still feeling connected with the outside, the community and just generally being in Zanzibar. We spent all of our time in the outside space - rotating between the sofas, the loungers on the beach, the table and the pool. It's incredibly well thought out and comfy! Rudy and his local team were always on hand. The chefs, in particular, are exceptional - while you are handy for plenty of restaurants and bars, we enjoyed every breakfast and most of our dinners at the villa. When you have the best spot on the beach, there was very little reason to leave!

I really liked Prosper's place. Me and my family enjoyed staying at the place the whole two weeks of our vacation. It is a quiet place with beautiful surroundings and at a secured location. The place was clean with nice furnitures, enough kitchen equipments and very comfortable to be in. It is within walking distance to Uzunguni meat carnival that offers delicious meals. I highly recommend Prosper's place for anyone going to Arusha. I will stay again at the house when I go to Arusha.

Sarah’s place was perfect. It was comfortable plenty of room for the two of us easy to get to local restaurants and swimming at the yacht club. Am so thankful for the opportunity to stay there. Can’t wait to return.

I stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment upstairs in one of the houses on the compound. The garden is beautiful, it is a quiet and safe area. It was fun to go across to the football field in the evenings and watch the local games. A local farmer sells fresh delicious yogurt across the lane.. There is lovely choir music on Saturday aft / Sunday mornings. The apartment was comfortable and all services as described in the posting were provided. The balcony was lovely to use in the evenings to catch the cool breeze. The on-site staff were wonderful and were quick to respond to all questions and requests. Grace also responded quickly to any questions. The small road leading to the apartment is a bit rough but okay to walk/drive slowly. It is good to have transport if you want to access the larger supermarkets and restaurants, but there are plenty of local shops within walking distance. Local transport is also available close by. I would recommend Grace and Bengt's place.

I recently stayed at this lovely apartment near Stone Town, and it was an incredible experience! The location is perfect—close enough to explore the historic Stone Town but situated in a quiet and peaceful area, which made for a relaxing stay. The apartment itself was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with plenty of room to unwind after a day of exploring. It had everything I needed for a enjoyable trip. The host was absolutely wonderful! They were very responsive, friendly, and went out of their way to ensure I had a great stay. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone visiting Zanzibar. The combination of a great location, spacious and comfortable accommodations, and an exceptional host made my stay unforgettable. I’ll definitely be returning in the future!

The place was neat and quiet and had all the mentioned amenities and a few more! The neighborhood is lovely and has access to plenty of important places. Leah’s an exceptional host!! She was very helpful before and after checking in. She always made sure that we are comfortable and felt welcomed.

I had an amazing stay at this Airbnb! It’s very spacious! The host (Allan) was incredibly friendly and went out of his way to ensure we had everything we needed. Allan is very accommodating and always responsive to any questions or requests. A special mention to the cleaning lady, who did an excellent job each time we asked for the house to be cleaned and even took care of our laundry(you just have to ask a day ahead). I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend!

My 3 week stay at Wanja's place was peaceful and I felt at home. Wanja and the Aura Space Team were always responsive to my inquires and accommodating to my needs during my stay. This was my first visit to East Africa and to Zanzibar so I appreciated each of the dining and sightseeing suggestions Wanja provided. The area was very walkable and I met many friendly locals who helped to make my stay enjoyable. I would stay at Wanja's place again.

Perfect accommodation if you’re looking for a place in Stone town. The location is great, right in the center of town but still very peaceful and quiet. The room and bathroom were very clean, AC was working and a great addition to the room. All in all i can highly recommend Abdulla’s place, especially since he was very kind, quick responses and available for any questions. Great value for the price!

Nancy's place is wonderful. It was easy to locate. All amenities were available. My colleagues and I had a wonderful time there. I would definately book this apartment again whenever I come to Dar Es Salam. The assistance at the building was quick. Wonderful place.

I can't say enough great things about this place, and if we're ever lucky enough to return to Paje we will absolutely stay here again! The place is an apartment in what is really more like a gated community but it's also super close to everything so it's the best of the both worlds - We loved having the pool, communal working space, cafe, parking for our rented scooter, and laundry available and felt super safe because of the security. It was also really nice having a real space to make our own for the week, with a living room + tv, kitchen, and extra bedroom. The beach is a short walk away and there are tons of restaurants on the main the street that are actually better and cheaper then the beach restaurants. If you're only in Paje for a night or two and want to stay steps away from the beach or be right in the middle of the party scene, this might not be the place for you, but we saw a friends room at one of the beach clubs/hotels and were so happy we were staying here instead :)

The staff was the best part of the stay. They were amazing, especially Dan. The property is next to the beach and in the middle of a village. Seeing the African culture and way of living mixed with paradisiac views…was riveting. Several descent restaurants in the area as well. Will definitely book again.
