Bottom floor of duplex located on Donner Summit. A hidden gem for outdoor enthusiasts. Like a home on a golf course except up here the golf course is Royal Gorge Cross Country Ski Resort and Soda Springs downhill ski resort. Sugar Bowl and Donner Ski Ranch ski resorts are only two miles down the road. Boreal is just one exit away on highway 80. Small condo at base of Tahoe Donner ski hill. Its really ideal for 2 people. However, there is a couch that folds down can becomes a bed (suitable for someone under 5.8). Deck overlooks the ski hill and has a killer view. There is a full size fridge, coffee maker, microwave, toaster oven and induction hot plate. Full bathroom. The unit has a table / work station. There are two chars and there are two black side tables that can act as extra seats so 4 people can sit at the table.

The Cozy Cabin - Your Home for Mountain Adventures

We made an early April visit with our 5 year-old for one more swing at snow play and sledding. Fortunately, the approach was clear but seeing a snow plow parked and ready to go near the property makes me think that help will always be available. There was a mountain of snow to ourselves in the back of the property which we enjoyed. The home was quiet, clean and well stocked. The wood-burning fireplace was easy to use with plenty of firewood available. We loaded it up around 7 p.m. and followed the video instructions to keep the home warm till the morning. The radiator and the ceiling fan helped maintain the temp during the day, but the room doors need to be left open for the heat to waft in. We used the full kitchen regularly, all the appliances are newer and they worked well. Beds were comfy and the bathroom was clean with plenty of fresh towels. We appreciated the new instant water heater and how quickly it provided hot water. Nyack Snow Park was outstanding at $30/day total.

Place worked well for us! Great proximity to Soda Springs Ski Resort. Only complaint is that the floor was freezing (lots of heat loss through the floor) and that the kid’s twins room had a strange sound and vibration coming from the locked closet. They slept fine though. Kitchen was well stocked! Fire heater worked well!

It's a beautiful place in a great location--a 5 mintue walk from Boreal, and a very short drive to other ski resorts, such as Royal Gorge, where we went. the layout of the condo is nice, with the public spaces on a separate floor from the two bedrooms. The amenities were all very nice; in addition, Lisa and Jason were very responsive when we had questions about miscellaneous things. The whole complex was very quiet as well.

Donner Lake is a gem, and the access, views, and ammenities in this spot couldnt be better. We swam, paddle boarded, and rented a pontoon boat right on site. Great, newly done kitchen. And did I mention the VIEWS?

Cozy Cabin Dreams | Tahoe Donner Cabin

As a family of 4, we rely on rental homes when we travel. We've endured some duds, but this place stood out as a gem - our favorite so far. Really spacious and well appointed. Great central heat meant no need to use the wood stove, which would've been tough with a toddler. Location is really close to the Donner ski areas and Truckee is about a 15 minute drive away. Lots of parking in the driveway when it snows. Tons of stuff to help make family meals (e.g. salt, garlic, oregano, tons of cooking stuff). Really clean place and the couch is incredibly comfy. A bit away from a proper grocery store, but there are general stores nearby for basics forgotten at home. The pizza place nearby was great for takeout the night of our arrival to get food on the table quickly after some travel delays (it closes at 8 pm and we just made it). A great home away from home. We hope to come back often next year!

Serene Lakes Cabin Near Sugar Bowl & Steps to Lake

We took our child to Tahoe to see snow for the first time and Randy and Mona’s place was just perfect for the occasion! It’s super close to the Soda Springs ski resort and makes it easier to manage the kid’s nap time. There was ton of snow around the house to build (little) snowmen. Randy and Mona were also incredibly responsive to messages, sent us restaurant recommendations ahead of time, and even heated up the place prior to our arrival. They even helped to ship us some headphones that we forgot at their place. Highly recommended for parents who want a bit of peace and quiet and the proximity to nearby kid-friendly ski resorts!
