Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Stockholm archipelago

Our family had a wonderful weekend in the house in Ingarö. Johan and Linda welcomed us in person, they are wonderful hosts. The house is built with quality and love for details. Well equipped, we lacked nothing, clean and warm. We traveled by car, so we managed to visit several local natural treasures - Björnö nature reserve, Artipelag. 10 minutes walk from the house there is access to the water where you can relax and enjoy the local landscape. Stockholm is in about 30 minutes drive from the house.

Our stay at Hans and Lena's place was very pleasant. The house exactly matches the photographs and description, it is very welcoming and equipped with every comfort. It is easy to get around by public transport: a few minutes' walk from the house there is in fact the bus stop that takes 30/40 minutes to Stockholm. The surroundings of the house are quiet and the view of the canal is very evocative. Unfortunately, due to schedules, we didn't have the pleasure of meeting Hans and Lena in person, but we met the son, very helpful. In any case, hosts were always available via phone and provided us with all the necessary information.

We stayed at Sara‘s place for a couple of nights and enjoyed our time there a lot. The house (and especially the kitchen) is well-equipped and the surroundings are peaceful and quiet. There is a canoe that can be carried to the lake, the bikes are a bit rusty, the sauna works well and without problems. Thank you Sara for our time here!

What a gem in the Stockholm archipelago?! My friend and I stayed at Mikael and Anna-Viktoria’s cottage for a few days, and absolutely loved it!! The cottage is quite close to Stockholm, we took a 25 min taxi from Slussen, but you could easily get there with great bus connections. The living area is stunning, with beautiful views of the lake, natural light through the day, tasteful decor, and many spots to lounge both indoors and outdoors. We spent our days chilling, bbqing, cooking, walking … the hot tub with views of the lake was a definite highlight! Mikael and Anna-Viktoria are kind and responsive hosts. We would love to be back!

Karl was a great host and made our stay truly memorable. A beautiful spot in a great location. I would be happy to stay there again.

Cozy cottage on Yxlan. We were four adults and two small children, the cottage had everything we needed and it was very close to the sea.

We absolutely loved staying at Magdalena's place, it was impeccable clean and exactly like the photos. We were two young families visiting and enjoyed the living area and ofcourse the sauna. We took walks around the neighbourhood and cooked every day, the beds are very comfy and would love to come back. Also Magdalena is a superhost responding swiftly to all our questions and super accommodating. Thank you so much for having us.

We really loved our stay at Lilla Anna! :) The house was very clean and beautifully furnished. The kitchen was well equipped and the house had everything we needed :) Especially the garden by the water is a dream and perfect for a relaxing and quiet vacation :) Kajsa is a very friendly and helpful host and we always felt really welcome! 😊 We will definitely recommend Lilla Anna to our friends and family and we will come back on our next trip to Sweden ☺️

This apartment is brilliantly located with ease to local cafes, public transport, metro station and importantly walking distance to the main city areas. We loved our visit to Stockholm and would recommend this apartment to any traveller wanting to experience and stay locally in an authentic Swedish apartment.

We spontaneously went to a family event in Stockholm. The location is perfect because we could reach everything on foot. The beautiful old town is directly opposite and there are cafes and restaurants just around the corner. The apartment are beautiful and clean. We felt right at home. We were informed about the construction site in Slussen, but it did not bother us at all. The communication was very good. I enquired about a yoga studio and café and immediately received great suggestions. Thank you for this beautiful accommodation. I highly recommend it and would book it again.

By far the most fabulous airbnb I’ve ever stayed in – I can’t praise Matilda enough for her excellent service. The apt was beautiful, spacious, and clean. It had 3 separate rooms: a large bedroom with a comfortable bed; a living room with 2 couches and a TV; and a library with a shelfful of books and a dining room table. There was also a modern kitchen, a lovely bathroom, a washer and dryer, and 2 wide hallways. Plus, what a view! Three floors up and with windows on both sides we could see the river and harbor to the east and a giant chestnut tree to the west. The street was absolutely quiet, despite our proximity to the livelier parts of Gamla Stan. I should add that this small, historic island was itself wonderful, with its excellent restaurants, cafes, and buildings. Finally, Matilda let us in 4 hours before our check-in time so we could put our suitcases away. Later, she let us check in early, upgraded our room, and carried my heavy suitcase up the stairs. What a find!

We spent 3 nights at Axels. I would recommend a visit of 3 nights minimum if you are a tourist trying to explore and understand beautiful Stockholm. This apartment is very spacious and great for a family or 2 couples since it has 2 levels. The bathrooms are large and well laid out. The location is absolutely perfect! High quality restaurants offering diverse cuisine are nearby. If you like to walk, as we do, beautiful parks and impeccably maintained boulevards are found nearby in all directions. Thanks for a great experience!!

I stayed for a week in this delightful and unique apartment. Self-check in was straightforward. Annika's communication was excellent and the photos were accurate. Great location in Old Town with easy access to Central Station, commuter ferries and tourist buses

It’s my first time coming to Stockholm Sweden & I will highly recommend Dawood place as all you need for your stay is @ a walking distance. Dawood was very helpful & friendly throughout my stay. Great place to stay in a wonderful part of Stockholm. Uzi was a great host, easy to communicate with, and full of good recommendations to enjoy the best of Södermalm. The Coop next door was very convenient, and the apartment itself was comfortable and had everything we needed. Definitely recommend, and would gladly stay again!

William was a great host and was very responsive. There were no surprises and we had a good understanding of what to expect with the area. He even pulled the double bed out in advance for 2 people to sleep. The place is very neat and clean and had all of the necessary amenities.

AnnaMaria's home is a little way outside of town but easy to reach by multiple modes of easy to manuever public transportation. I really enjoyed being in a place that felt like home and allowed me to unwind after a long day of exploring the city. Another great aspect is the neighborhood. Her place is on a busy street but it doesn't feel like it at all. The community is laid back and just peaceful. I really enjoyed my time and am grateful AnnaMaria allowed me to stay in her place.

Perfect stay! The place is gorgeous and well kept, even better than the pictures, it’s spacious and has a lot of natural light. Perfect location in the heart of SoFo, a lot of bars and restaurants and an easy stroll to the other islands. Barbara was amazing, super nice and helpful, answered every question and gave us a lot of suggestions. We had the best time and would definitely come back

Nice studio, in a traditional building in the old city, well-equipped; perfect for a base to explore the sights, or as a stay for a business meeting in the city centre.

We had a grand stay in Tobias place. Location is great and being in a cul de sac, nice and quiet. Place is small (toilet is tough if you have long legs!), but a nice place with good fittings. Tobias was very responsive.

Hanna & Anita's place was the perfect, cozy stay for our one week stay in Stockholm. They thought of everything to make the place feel like home, from the extra towels to coffee and tea; towels to sit on in the sauna and a clothes line inside the sauna. Anita went above and beyond during our stay. One example: After a long day of travel, we couldn't wait to relax. When we arrived to the place, it was warm and nicely lit. The sauna quickly warmed us up. If you are looking for a peaceful and comfortable place that is away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but still close by, we recommend Anita and Hanna's place. Alejandro was always quick to respond to my questions and patient as I learned how to use various appliances. The location is convenient with easy access to two separate public transportation stations, delicious restaurants, two supermarkets, a beautiful nature preserve with trails and swimming from the dock in front of the building. The apartment is very comfortable with a lovely terrace and fully equipped kitchen. We were provided with early access which was helpful after an overnight flight to Stockholm. We would love to return some day!
