On the way down to a nice swimming area, you can see and explore Southwest Norway's largest concentration of rock carving fields. Sheep and lamb can be experienced up close. Åmøy is also a good starting point if you want to visit famous places such as Utstein Abbey, Prekestolen, Sola beaches, Ørnhaug Visitor Farm, Kongeparken, etc.

At the lake there is a pavillion with a remarkable view where you can enjoy the sunset. A boat and canoe are available for free. It's a very private and quiet location, but still perfectly located in Ryfylke with all its breathtaking hikes nearby. In 2020 the bathroom and hall was totally refurbished, and a fiberoptic cable was installed with a fast wifi-connection.
