Atcot Cottage has been our own special sanctuary for years but is now available for holidays and short breaks. A Grade II Listed, 18th Century smugglers cottage retaining lots of original features, it has been lovingly restored to provide luxury accommodation for 4 people. Compact and cosy, tucked away down a little alleyway, it is a perfect holiday location for getting away from it all. Only 200 yards to the harbour and beach and well placed for exploring the lovely North Yorkshire Coast.
“Have just spent a couple of nights at Atcot cottage with my two children. It was a gem of a cottage, tucked away in the middle of Staithes and met our needs perfectly for our stay. House is clean, cosy and has everything you need, if not more for a stay! The locals are really friendly and helpful. My children decided to complete the Old Jack’s trail as the weather was not particularly kind to go out for the longer trail of finding house plaques. This was a good way of still exploring the area. The Cod & Lobster was a great pub for meals-food very tasty. We hope to be back in the not so distant future! Thanks for a lovely visit!”
Seaholme is a two bedroom Grade II* listed former Harbourmasters cottage in the tranquil village of Staithes. Built in 1850 and fully renovated to accommodate you with all the amenities you require. The cottage is literally a few paces from the beach. Please note there is no parking at this property - cars can unload outside the cottage but need to be parked at the top of the village.
“David’s communication RE check in etc was great, as was communication from the lady who looks after his place who seems lovely. Everything was easy- the house had absolutely everything we needed and is right next to the sea and you can hear the sea at night from the top bedroom. It’s also next to a great pub- the Cod and Lobster, which has amazing food and service. Biggest positive point is the master bedroom which has great views and the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in!! Also the shower is fab as are the kitchen facilities and the sky package is a nice touch for rainy days finding something to watch when relaxing in the evening. Can’t say enough good things really- highly recommend! If you have mobility issues it might be worth considering that you have to walk up a hill to the car park and that the house is on 4 floors.”
Romantic, cosy little getaway cottage. Beck View is tucked away down Abram Lane but is just a metre or two to the High Street.
“What an amazing place. Staithes is an old fishing port and all the buildings are quaint cottages. Amanda has made a small cottage feel much bigger and it is so comfortable. From a log burner for the cooler nights to the softest bed I've slept in and a fab bathroom, I couldn't fault the place, in fact I really hope to get up again soon. You have a view of the beck from the downstairs/bedroom window and the cottage is close to the tea room and pubs in the village, and Whitby is only a short drive away. If you're a runner (or hiker) like me, the Cleveland Way trail is also very close (I recommend heading up for some amazing sunset pictures). Amanda was on hand via phone and replied instantly, always nice to know you can contact the host if you need to and know you get a response quickly too Thanks Amanda, I've loved all my time in your cottage and Staithes, I'll be back.”
