We had such a great weekend in the shepherd’s hut Pip! In early April, there were lots of little lambs in the small paddock around the huts, leaping around and sleeping curled up on the grass - so cute! The view from the hut is beautiful down over the field to the tree line. Peter was very welcoming, helpful and responsive to messages - he found us somewhere to store our bikes on the farm, brought extra pillows for us and gave us two eggs, even though the chickens were new and weren’t producing many yet. We cooked breakfasts and one dinner in the hut, and used the fire pit on the second night to keep us warm as the sun set. It was magical! The hut is beautiful inside and practical/functional. We were warm all night even though we didn’t use the wood burner - there is automatic heating. The hut is over the road from Sissinghurst garden, so we walked there. We were travelling on bikes and it was just a 4 min cycle into town, where the pub and local shop are. We would like to return!

Great place to stay. Perfectly located for the village and the wider area, The Old Fire Station was clean, comfortable and provided more than enough space for a young family of four. The hosts were very friendly and communicated all the details we needed for our stay. Would highly recommend!

We stayed for a month while work was being done on our own house. It was a real home from home, with everything we needed - the kitchen was very well-equipped. A lovely, characterful property, right in the centre of town! Beds were very comfortable and the living space was very generous. Highly recommended!
