Family-friendly holiday rentals in Shizuoka

This stay is absolutely perfect. A perfect, beautiful home that’s a literal skip away from the Mt Fuji Welcome Area. The home was perfect and as described and our host was amazing at what he does. He came and picked us up from Fujikawa station and then drove us back when it was time to leave. Please let him come get you if he offers, you’ll need it! He then provided us a tour of the home, perfectly explained all amenities and how to properly use them. Please respect the home, it is very old and he worked very hard on it. We will be booking this home every time we visit Mt. Fuji in the future!

My husband and I had 3 great nights at Hill Top house. It was certainly dramatic excentuated by our arrival in the dark on the first night and waking in the morning to glorious sunshine and stunning views out to the Pacific, not to mention the monkey troop walking along the tree line behind the house. The house is as described and is a modernist gem. We would not hesitate to stay again. We only wished we had booked it for longer.

Place was small and cozy but able to accommodate large group. About 15 minute walk to train station. Location is nice for Hakone.

I live nearby.My son and his wife came with a baby. On the day of fireworks, accommodation costs for nearby ryokans are soaring, but this time, it was a weekday price even on holidays, and it felt like a great deal. Originally, when I booked by mistake for a month, they responded by rescheduling, and they were willing to handle forgotten items, and communication was very smooth.Thank you very much.

The weather was forecast, but it was sunny and we had a relaxing time. There was also a barbecue while overlooking Hatsushima.We enjoyed our stay as per the information in advance. Thank you!

The sauna, water bath, and natural hot spring were all pleasant to use!The description of the facility was also easy to understand, and we had a comfortable stay.

We very much enjoyed our stay here ! The house is very large with 4 bedrooms, well equipped kitchen, bath tubs both indoors and outdoors and everything you need for a fantastic holiday. It is located in a peaceful forest area away from the crowds. If you have a dog, there are also plenty of facilities for your pet. Very easy to get from the house to Lake Kawaguchi and Chureito Pegoda, the 7 seas of Oshino, many temples, gardens, museums and also the F1 racetrack. If you have a car, this home is a perfect base to get everywhere. We really felt at home and enjoyed that everyone had their own bedroom with comfortable beds.

The location is close to the main road, there are many restaurants around, there is also a supermarket. This house have 2 floors is quite comfortable for 13 of us, 6 adults and also 7 children. All bedrooms are on the 2nd floor. There are 4 rooms here, we only use 3 rooms is enough, there is still 1 room with a tent to play. And 1 toilet near stairs. On the 1st floor there is a kitchen, dining room, bathroom, toilet, and a large playroom. Outside the house there is a large yard, suitable for children to play Unfortunately we arrived here at night and only slept overnight, the next morning we had to continue our journey so we couldn't enjoy the facilities

We had an amazing time during our 3 day weekend ! Place was exactly as per the pictures and we had the feeling of being in another country ! Beach really close by (walkable distance but with hill to get back to the house), convenient store and grocery shopping near by if you have a car. Would happily come back for holidays !

Michael has a wonderful house, it is very beautiful and you can find a lot of cute details in the house. Michael is also a great host, very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

spacious apartment with strong heater

We stayed in this lovely home just outside of town, nestled in nature, for one month and felt right at home. Abhi is a most generous and considerate host, he helped us out from start to finish and made sure we had the best time in the Shimoda area. You do not need a car if staying here as the beach and a couple of restaurants are only about a 10 min walk from the house and convenience store about 20 minutes and a couple more good restaurants / bars about 35 minutes. But if you want to visit more sites in the area or go to the grocery store we'd recommend a car. The main reason we were visiting the area was to dive with the huge schools of Hammerhead sharks just off the coast here. Without a car the dive center can pick you up. We highly recommend Abhi's place. good wifi good AC big TV well equipped kitchen washing machine

When I asked questions in the message, they responded kindly and quickly.　 I was able to stay with children with peace of mind.

The view is amazing with clear sky, you can see mount Fuji from the property. Large place can hold a lot of people. There are every thing we need (kitchen, washer-dryer etc.). The futon was already prepared for us, it was comfortable. There are 2 rooms for bathing but we travel as a family so the bath does not bother us. The check in / check out is easy, just followed Gen's instruction.

They responded quickly despite the sudden stay on the day. Communication and accommodations were excellent

There were various things such as bedding and kitchenware, and I stayed without any inconvenience.We stayed with 10 people, but the room was spacious and we had a pleasant stay without feeling cramped.

In the middle of nature, I enjoyed plenty of meals on the terrace while watching the flowers in the garden.It felt open and private at the same time, and it was a special getaway with a hot spring and a great view to ourselves.There is a polite guide in the house, so I didn't get lost in how to use the facilities, and I felt the host's hospitality everywhere, such as decoration and clean bedding. I will stay there again. Thank you!

The beach is right there, you can see the sea even if you are sitting in the dining room, the stars are beautiful, the location was great!It was a family trip for three generations, but I would like to come back again. There is no microwave, so I thought that if you have small children, you need to be creative with your belongings.

My family and I stayed here for three days and two nights, and we definitely had amazing experiences here. We reached quite late around 7pm but Kyoko-san patiently waited for us, greeted us and gave nice tour around the house. Even the home owner and the other co-hosts were very attentive and made sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. For the next two mornings, we were blessed; greeted by the lovely Mount Fuji and the view from the house was spectacular ❤️ We came here during the Eid month, so we even had family Eid photos here! Such memorable experiences, and we would definitely recommend this place to others :)

It was an environment that everyone from children to adults can enjoy.It's a special time to connect with the host and feel like a local.We will come back to visit again.

8 years on, we returned to stay in this magnificent place. how far its come in 8 years, there is a whole amazingly curated experience now for the guests (no spoilers), interior has changed, garden, Bon fire, in floor Japanese fire pit for cooking. we went to the local grocer and bought everything to make yakitori. What an amazing time again.

A great stay, the house was perfect and had everything I needed, the host was super helpful and responsive, the location was great near the station, I'd be happy to go back!

6 adults and 3 children stayed for 1 night. We went to the field to pick the vegetables we would use for the evening BBQ. The kids had fun putting okra in baskets and getting umbrellas with leaves like Totoro had! There was water nearby, and we watched the dragonflies. It looked like you could enjoy looking for creatures and playing in the water. Most importantly, the organic rice grown here was delicious✨, and both adults and children ate their fill of rice!! When my children are a little older, I'd love to come during the autumn harvest season and the rice planting season. At night, there were few street lights, so it was very dark, and the stars and fireworks were very beautiful. There was no⭐️ air conditioning, only a fan, so it was hard at first (mid-August), but I sweated a lot, and I felt the comfort of the breeze and cold water, and the taste of beer, and I thought this might be the best part of the countryside experience. The host was a very nice person, and when we called out to him, he taught us a lot of things, brought us rice and vegetables, doted on the children like they were his grandchildren, and watched over us from a good distance!
