It has been gradually renovated and revitalised (currently in the process of revitalisation), with whitewashed clay walls, natural Kenji-ji bamboo fences, and more.Originally an old house opened as an almost 100% inbound accommodation.We are conducting a semi open-air bath in the interior of the warehouse and renovation work centered around the water. ■ Soothing moss garden ■ There are three moss gardens: the front garden, the middle garden, and the back garden. Well water flows everywhere, including through a fountain, a basin, a stone basin, a stream between stepping stones, and a pond. There is a separate indoor bath from the Hinoki bath, but the view of Setouchi and the starry sky from the Goemon bath, heated with firewood, is the best. If you're lucky, you'll see artificial satellites and meteors. The water heated by firewood never gets cold. It warms you from the core of your body. The bedding is specially ordered from a long-established bedding manufacturer in Kyoto, and the bath invites you to relax your body and mind and sleep soundly. Most guests say they sleep well. During the day, you might want to spend some time in the lounge filled with houseplants. Enjoy the sunlight shining through the trees from the skylight. Here, the right answer is to do nothing and just be. How about emptying your mind? If you request at least a week before your stay, we can prepare local food from Oshima Island and seasonal food that we can get through a special route. KAIWA NO SATO This old house is an indigo mansion built in the first year of the Bunsei era (1804) during the heyday of indigo. The main house and the sleeping area (a barn where indigo was stored) have been demolished due to aging, but the historic living room and garden have been preserved to allow guests to experience a little bit of that time, and it is used as a farmhouse inn. In the old days, "Indigofera" grew on the fertile land of the Yoshino River basin in Tokushima Prefecture, bringing great wealth to Tokushima Prefecture (Awa Province). Ancient documents on indigo, including cultural properties, are also available for viewing. This house is built on the quiet seaside in Shodoshima Town. The house was built just for dusk watching the sea and the sunset.Therefore, I apologize for the large number of stairs on the terrace, but I can never call it barrier-free.(I will do my best to help with my luggage, etc.) However, at the end of the high terrace, there is a glittering, calm and beautiful sea in Setouchi, and a kane-colored sunset that changes faces every day. Forget your time and enjoy the extraordinary. *We are currently not allowing pets to stay. If you'd like some, please contact us before booking. The interior is accessed by climbing the terrace stairs.It is not handicap accessible. Please be sure to accompany small children or adults when climbing up and down the stairs. Also, on rainy days, there are many stairs, so it may be inconvenient. The road in front of the accommodation is not paved. Please note that this may be an inconvenience. There is a lot of nature around the inn, so there are definitely insects.Sometimes insects come in together when opening and closing windows and doors.(Especially at night, insects gather in the light of the inn) We are very sorry, but please refrain from staying if you are not good with insects.
