An unexpectedly amazing airbnb find! John and Ana are very friendly and make you feel part of their family rather than a guest. Although the cottage and the empty coconut-lined beachfront offer plenty of calm and privacy too! Better than any resort: amazing views of Apo island, waves singing you to sleep, cute bamboo cottage, new comfortable bathroom with warm shower, decent wifi... What else do you need :) Easily accessible location especially as John picks up the guests in Dumaguete whenever he can. No wonder most people end up extending their stay... Awesome place, just go for it!

Staying with John and Anna has definitely been the best part of our travels so far. We have stayed at many places, but none as beautiful or where we have been made so welcome. The sound & sight of the sea is something you never want to leave. Even helping the local fishermen with their nets has been amazing. The highlight was being invited to Anna's family in the mountains for their annual festival. Lovely company, delicious food & even some tuba. Definitely a great place to stay.

The friendliness of John and Anna is beyond words! They couldn't have done anything more for us. Our stay was mixture of joint dinners, shared life stories and relaxation by the sea. The location is great, close to apo island wich is beautiful snorkeling spot. Far enough from the noisy Dumaguete but still has restaurants and little street shops around. It is a single-family house, just 15 meters away from the sea, a beautiful environment, the room clean! They are super awesome landlord, john pick us up from Dumaguete hotel and took me to the pharmacy to buy anti-fever medicine, the next day to take us to the pier to see the sea turtles, only 3 km away, take back their own yellow or 10p bus ride jeepniy only able to reach the intersection at night anna get BBQ, we do Chinese food, we get together for dinner, the atmosphere is very good, very happy that they like to eat sweet and sour fish we did. And their lovely dogs, swimming at the beach playing with us, in the yard the sun! A foreign country, fell in love with the B & B john @ anna provided, such as at home as we enjoy! This is a wonderful experience you should not miss!

John and Anna are the most welcoming and friendly hosts that we have ever had. We were planning to stay only two nights, but we kept extending because we enjoyed it so much. We did a bunch of stuff together, for instance; we scuba dived several times with john at the reef in front of his house and Anna cooked amazing meals so we had several times dinner together. In terms of the cottage it's very comfortable, clean and has a great ocean view. Everything about our stay was perfect and exceeded our expectations. John and Anna were amazing! John and Anna help us in many ways, their knowledge of the area and things to do, we swam with the Whale Sharks,went to the Island of Apple and many more Adventures. The cottage was so peaceful, you're about ten meters off the ocean, the waves would put sleep. Very nice bathroom, Hot water! Wi-Fi good too! Beautiful view of the Island of Apple! I was very surprised how reasonable the restaurants were to eat at and good food too! For two of us including our drinks, it would usually average $8 to $10 (US) for the meals. You can't go wrong staying with John and Anna.

Heather (Hans' assistant) was a great host as she provided good directions to the house, answered all our questions, and arranged a boater to pick us up from the house directly to Apo Island and arrange our dive with a dive shop. The house was spacious and well kept. The beach in front of the house is rocky, but was fine for us since we went to Apo Island. Heather can suggest a beach near by. Towels and linen provided, but toiletries are not. You will need to either eat out our buy food at the local market, which is what we did. We cooked some great meals in their common kitchen. Lots of places to lounge around and enjoy the view. Great for big groups of divers.

Our party of 10 people, including three children, are very fond of this building a big house. Sea from only 20 meters from the house, the second floor of the scenery beautiful. There are two toilets between three bath, 10 enough for personal use. The staff was warm and friendly, especially Lora, my daughter liked her. If you go to Apo Island, the staff can help book, but also to meet in front of the beach, very convenient.

Hans was very accomodating and friendly, to the point of helping me with a minor accident that i had. Regarding the house, it is very well placed if you want to be aways from the crowded city and traffic, plus it isnear Malatapay, which may be of interest if you plan to visit Apo Island. I would not hesitate to be back in the future.

We had a great stay at the beach house. Nice and peaceful spot and the house was very spacious. And I nice place to swim right out front. Hans was very helpful and accommodating. Would defiantly go back.

The biggest problem is bed bugs. I got bug bites everywhere on my arms and legs. It is so itchy that almost ruined the rest of my journey. The furniture is old and not well remained. Once we entered the house, it does fell fresh because the doors and windows were closed for a long time.

Jack demonstrated responsiveness and promptness. The house is clean large and pleasant. A paradise where rest is required. We recommend strongly.

We were in need of a peaceful break & Jacks cottage was perfect. You can hear the sea from the bedroom. The photos really don't do the property justice. It was nice to have a proper shower with good pressure for a change. We miss our pets when we are away from home so loved Jacks two dogs. They followed us on to beach during the day & kept us company in the evenings. We were fully recharged when we left. The madness of the city makes me want to be back there now. Toto the house manage always had a smile for us & was kind & helpful. Just along the beach is the tasteful & reasonable Thalatta Beach Resort/Dive Centre that allows you to pay & use the pool. We never did but we ate there two evenings & it was a refreshing & healthy menu, half French & half local. I recommend the big salad & the kinilaw (like a fish cerviche). Thank you Jack & Toto. Joy & her sister welcomed us warmly. They drove us to Greenland, the residence was actually larger than we'd expected--the cottage pix made it seem a bit more compressed. Clean, well-located (90 seconds to water, five minutes walk on beach to nearest dive operation, Apo Island directly across from beach), quiet.

Leonor's place is great although it's quite far from Dumaguete City. It's a shame we only got to stay for one night. We hope to come back again and relax, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Thanks again for your warm hospitality!

Beautiful home at the foot of Negros Mountains We had a wonderful stay at Leonor's place. The rooms are spacious and clean, and there is big shared kitchen, very inviting and well equipped for cooking. The place used to be a wellness center and is now a guesthouse. Ate Leonor is very friendly, welcoming and helpful, and made us feel at home. The location is in the mountains above Valencia and is a beautiful get away from the city. It is perfect as a base camp for motorbike and hiking trips into the fantastic mountains of Negros. We will definitely be back!

Our time spent at Leonor's place has been a very memorable one. House in the mountains, is made of bamboo, as well as swimming pool. The boss is very warm, give us a lot of help. Thank you very much, very satisfied with the first stay. But unfortunately we did not have a driver's license to rent a motorcycle. See babies to remember to bring a driver's license.

Amazing place to stay! The room is very nice and clean, our first plan was to spend here only one night but we decide to stay longer, because of people around.Leonor is very friendly and she help us with everything! She also picked up us and help us with transfer down to the city! We can recommend her!!

We were greeted by Leonor in the airport soon after we landed and she is warm and easy going. She was also gracious to drive us in the motorcycle rental place as the location of her place is up in the mountains. Location is not far from Valencia but also not easy to get around by foot.

The landlord is very nice, invite you to his house to visit with and coffee, Butler also take us to a place to live, take the time to send us early in the morning. A very pleasant stay, next will come back.

One of the Duma airport to see who the landlord to arrange airport pick us up, for those of us who do not speak English super warm heart, then took us to the supermarket to buy food with urban use, very warm, even made time to go free to send us to Sumi Long Wharf, very intimate, villa large, can live more than 8 people is no problem, very clean, though not in the urban areas, but also very convenient to go downtown, tutu car can go to, and Villa Really very beautiful, very worth to stay!

This is the best house we have ever rent, we had a very pleasant time there, Cinsy is helpful and Alan is really patient, he offered very good service to us and we spent a great afternoon in Arjan's garden. We also had a great talk with the hostess Evy,you can't find a better host.

Arjan is a wonderful host, he met us at the airport and took us to get our rental car. The accomodations in Valencia are top notch, a very spacious 3 bdrm house and we were very comfortable. When we had internet problems, Arjan worked quickly to resolve the situation. The management and service crew made sure we were comfortable and there was even a welcome basket with snacks. Arjan even provided all the toiletries you need, toothpaste, soap, shampoo and conditioner. Arjan and his wife even invited us to dinner at their house, our kids were sick so we could not attend but the offer was very much appreciated. I cant say enough about this place, if you come to Dumaguete absolutely have to stay at Hassaram Residences, you will not be disappointed.

The place is very clean and nice. Arjan is a great host. It's very easy to communicate with him and his staff. Although it's a short drive from the city its best to stay there if you have your own car. It's away from the hustle and bustle of the city and very near tejeros, casaroro etc

It's a great place for family to stay. It's quiet and have nice swimming pool if you like quiet vacation. The place is very clean and all the details are taken care very good. Found tables and bathroom have flowers everyday. Have fridge wash machine to use, very convenient. The host is very kind! It's only problem is hard to get taxi/bikes to city, a bit expensive transfer from city to house.

The description applies to 100% at the accommodation. The photos are correct. The apartment is nice, as was the well-kept garden with pool. In particular, we were pleased to be able to conveniently rent a moped at Maria. For pharmacy, hospital, post office, immigration office, etc. are in Dumaguete (approx 20min drive), just the Robinsons Supermarket (milk, meat, etc.). Fresh and relatively low-priced fruits and vegetables, there are however on Sundays directly in Valencia (2 min) at the farmers market. As located at the mountainside, it is near Maria always a bit cooler (pleasant) than directly down the coast, it is relatively quiet. Another plus: Good Internet and proximity to Casaroro Falls. Maria is friendly and accommodating. As locals she knows to be one or the other good advice. Conclusion: We have felt very comfortable and would definitely come back.

Excellent, five stars experience, great place to stay with sea view, comfortable apartment, delicious coffee and food. Staying at Roland's place is like staying with good friends who have lots to offer beyond just an accommodation. Roland provided transportation to and from the boat terminal, and was our guide and navigator to the country and its culture. Good place and nice host. If you have no car there, it's a little far away from city not only shopping but also doing sth for fun.But the host can drive for you and you just pay for it.

This is a great place, especially if you enjoy the beach. Roland also offers excursions and has a restaurant on site if your hungry.

Roland is a great host, very friendly and helpful at all times. He is not, however, on the spot, however, there is no help with problems. so is eg 4 days without internet at all. I can not help it if other guests abuse the volume limit mercilessly because a better solution should be found. otherwise our stay met my expectations not too high, the importance of calm and reasonably comfortable room, even if the apartment is located far enough away from dumaguete.

Ocean view property

Roland went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. He lives right there on the premises with his beautiful wife and child. The first night after a long day of travel I almost left the accommodations to find something in town. On the Tricycle ride out from town I realized how far out of town it was. Roland bent over backwards to get me fed and comfortable. He even lent me his wife's motor scooter to go back and forth to town and a very reasonable rate. He also took me on an excursion to the Hot Springs which were great.

I would like to thank Danny & Elena for opening their home on such short notice. While I did not personally make the trip to Dumaguete, the kids had a great time. I received incredible feedback regarding the property and how wonderful everyone was. If there is any need for improvement, it would be with the strength of the wireless internet signal but that's not an uncommon problem. Otherwise, a great place to stay and everyone would like to go back again. Next time, I will go with them!

it was a good break for the kids and myself. we wanted to spend time outside the city proper and take on a different experience of dumaguete read the unfamiliar and new. somehow staying with Danny and Elena was a good decision their place is just 15 minutes from town center, it's secluded and quite if not for weekend guests who would use their pool. what helped was that it rained heavily during our stay and the electricity and Internet connection fluctuated. that truly gave us a break from the usual, sort a bonding time by force. we are grateful to our hosts for treating us like family, we felt most welcomed and they went out of their way to make our stay comfortable.

Great hideout near the city proper. The place has other things to offer aside from the usual accommodation for they do have a mini zoo that kids will surely love.

Overall really loved staying here. We were cozy and made at home by the owners and their nice staff. The place, pool and nature are one of the nicest in Dumaguete. We had a lot of fun swimming and relaxing. Beds were modest and comfortable. No AC and a slow drain were the only drawbacks. Would love to visit here again. We rented a self drive van (P2500/day) for our family of five. Close To movies at robinsons, went to Valencia, and massage near Siliman. Roads a bit rough.

This is a charming cottage in a large scenic garden and of course next to the pool. The area is very quiet. The staff were friendly and helpful. The only thing that was a surprise was that there was no aircon. This was my fault as no aircon was listed. The cottage was cool anyway as we were on the ground floor and it's native style nippa roof and thick walls. Internet signal is not very good

The location was not too difficult to locate as there was Waze, it's only few minutes away from Dumaguete City proper. We arrived past 2 in the afternoon and we were unlucky because there was no water then but the staff (Irene and the rest) were too prompt in telling us ahead and offered a quick solution of filling in drums for us. The accommodation got us all in and we never fell short of beddings considering we were a big group of 11. Though the kitchen is bare but they lend us all the necessary cooking must haves we need. There's a ref and tv though not functioning when we were there but we don't mind. i was also able to borrow a heater for my valuable coffee - i really appreciate that part. At night time we were the only ones occupying the place that includes the big pool all to ourselves. Our stay was indeed relaxing as all noise was just from us. Elena was very prompt in replying to emails and I have relayed to Irene (since Elena is out of the country) what was being discussed in details. Thank you for accommodating us. Cheers!

We stayed here for three nights, with two kids. First of all: Very special thanks to Danny - our host - who was downright friendly and welcoming. Anything we would ask for, was handled in our favour, nicely, fast and smooth. The "Swim Houz" is a very beautiful and well-kept site with lots of attractions around the pool - one can easily see that the owners are very much committed to this project. While the guest house is not like kind of "Marriott"-standard :-) we still slept nicely there. Be aware that there is only one room, no separation. The pool is just like as shown in the photos and - of course - the main attraction. It is a like a public bath, where everyone can get in for a fee. At the weekends it can get a little bit crowded, but not too much :-)

The place is great if you are looking for peace and quiet for a few days. We had the pool to ourselves and were able to use the barbecue for cooking, Danny and his people were very helpful during the stay, helping with the barbecue and giving us information as needed. We will be returning to stay.

We enjoyed our stay at Mona's house, it had four rooms, and there was enough space for our group of 8. The place is clean, quiet, and it's description here at Airbnb is accurate. The location was convenient for us, since we brought our cars from Cebu, so even if it was outside the city, we had an easy time to commute anywhere. Traffic around this area is very light, so going to Dumaguete city is less than 15 mins. There was hot water, 3 of the rooms has air con unit, and the living room as well. Internet was surprisingly fast, though we had a bit of challenge getting the password to work (hint: it's zero's and not an 'o'), but we finally managed to crack it. It also has the needed amenities to feel right at home, such as a refrigerator, a gas range, and utensils for eating. Mona, her brother Freddie, and his family, were very pleasant, and we had a nice experience communicating with them. If we travel again as a group to Dumaguete (which we often do every year), we will definitely consider this place again.

Our second house three times to manage the drinking water requirements of people were asked to pay twenty-five Philippine currency, do not feel too good. Because the house did not provide any commodity, but care about this little money, I am afraid, runs the risk.

Mona is a wonderful host and her brother who is the caretaker in the compound is very reliable and helpful. The property is beautiful, the homes are very modern, and the location is a great spot to either go north into the city or south to many resorts.

Christopher accommodated us despite us booking at the last minute. Everything we needed was provided to us; towels and toiletries. We were given access to the kitchen where we were able to use the dishes for our dinner as well as cook egg for our breakfast. Staying at Christopher's place is even better than staying at a hotel. Highly recommended

My family stayed there just for one night, not expecting much and that was my mistake not to book the Pethouse for the duration of our stay here in Dumaguete. The house/room lives up to its value; it is clean with all the amenities. Christopher was really helpful and kind to my whole family; it was easy to talk with him and we felt welcome there. The dogs there top the rest of our stay there. The next time we come to Dumaguete we will be sure to stay at the Pethouse.

This place and Christopher's family is more than just a thumb's up - it's a hands down and up rating!!! The place is super nice, safe, comfortable, clean, uber-modern and convenient especially we are attending a wedding at Tierra Alta - a mere 15 min drive to the Mountain Resort. Kudos to Christopher, to his sister and mom for being such a great host to 4 ladies exploring Dumaguete. No sweat going Dumaguete City as it is just 10-15 minutes tricycle ride (everything in Dumaguete is near btw) and main road from the house is just stone throw away. Robinson's mall is just less than 10-min trike ride for mere 8 pesos fare per head. Going to Apo Island in Dauin is also convenient through Ceres terminal which is very near Robinson's mall (bus to Apo Island is only 28 pesos per head). Going to Boulevard in Dumaguete city is 40 pesos special ride. Thank you for allowing our friends to come over as well to prepare for the wedding last saturday. Much appreciated for your generosity in allowing all of us to camp there first and prepare. This place is definitely worth every penny spent, actually way better than staying at a hotel.

Christopher's Pethouse was quiet and ideally located from the Dumaguete mall, restaurants and Valencia. It was a nice, quiet and private setting.

This place and Christopher's family is more than just a thumb's up - it's a hands down and up rating!!! The place is super nice, safe, comfortable, clean, uber-modern and convenient especially we are attending a wedding at Tierra Alta - a mere 15 min drive to the Mountain Resort. Kudos to Christopher, to his sister and mom for being such a great host to 4 ladies exploring Dumaguete. No sweat going Dumaguete City as it is just 10-15 minutes tricycle ride (everything in Dumaguete is near btw) and main road from the house is just stone throw away. Thank you for allowing our friends to come over as well to prepare for the wedding last saturday. Much appreciated for your generosity in allowing all of us to camp and prepare. This place is worth every penny spent, actually way better than staying at a hotel.

This is my first time booking with Airbnb and Chris just made me want to delete all my hotel-booking apps. Everything was perfect from check-in to check-out. Did not encounter a single problem with my stay. It was spectacular. Would recommend this to anyone who's looking for a place to stay in Dumaguete. If only I could stay here for a month, oh how lovely would that be. Saneth's place is truly a home away from home, away from the busy streets of the city but still accessible by commute. The amenities are superb! My boyfriend and I also love her cooking. We will definitely be back. Saneth is such an inspirational host.

Really nice apartment with all the comforts, especially the lovely soft bed. There are two private rooms in apartment but we had the shared space to ourselves as no one else there. Saneth was a kind welcoming host who was very helpful at organising our onward travel. The breakfast is very good if you want to spend a little extra. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting dumaguete. One caution, electricity usage is charged but not stated as additional fees which did drive up the overall cost of the stay.

Best apartment we rented so far. The apartment is in a quite area close to the city centre. Its very clean and looks good and has good wifi. The hosts are great and wil help with everything you need.

Usually the room like photos, clean comfortable, although Yafang, public spaces are shared with others, but no other tenants during our stay, so the whole space is ours! Saneth very friendly, the question asked before the stay will be very quick reply to answer very detailed, and even help you plan your trip, because of available housing in the depths of a small alley in the village, if Saneth happen to go out, or if you need ride to the dive shop set up early, just keep up Saneth say a word, she will charge you a reasonable price chauffeuring her something, then asks what you mean, if you need help call tutu, we must ask Saneth recommend food! Her recommendations are super delicious! Saneth a lot of trouble during their stay, really sorry! There can be any need for an opening with Saneth short Saneth we come across the most enthusiastic of the most enthusiastic landlord, this is a great stay, next time will come again and recommend it to everyone!

Saneth's place had been a haven for us during our stay in Dumaguete. At such a short notice, she was able to accommodate our group and ensured that the place we've stayed in would be comfortable and peaceful to wind up for the night after the day's itineraries. We've got a clean, good-smelling place, new sheets and towels all the time, a hot shower, laundry options and an adorable dog, Brix, welcoming us everytime. More than value for money, it's home-away-from-home.

Everything according to the description listed. Easy place to get to, amenities around. Good place to have an overnight stay before your flight. The hosts were kind and helpful.

Ellen is a super host. She will assist you to make sure you enjoy you stay in Dumaguete. Her place is conviniently located steps away from McDonalds and a gas station. It is also a half block away from the main transit. There you can get food and even a babershop. Robinskn mall is about 3 blocks away. You can also go up and down the venue for 20 pesos in a moto-taxy each way. I loved the location. A/C works and the room has a big closet. She provided towels and essentials. For the price I paid I couldn't ask for more.

Ellen has been very helpful in providing tips about going around in Dumaguete. She has contacts who could bring you around the tourist attractions. Very flexible with check in and out. Convenient Location - place is a few minutes walk from Ceres bus terminal. Great value for money!

My husband and I had a great stay in Ellen's place, we love the AC and the internet was very fast. Her place is near the bus terminal and a 24 hrs Mcdonalds around 3-5 mins walk. The place is very safe, quiet and easy to locate. Ellen was a great host and she even allowed us to have a very early check in coming from a 6 hour bus ride. We would love to stay again in her place someday.

This place is really in a very convenient location. Close to McDonald's, Robinson's plaza, Food Net, Ceres Bus Terminal and many other convenient stores. The bathroom was kept clean the whole time I was there and there was no problem getting in and out of the place anytime of the day. Nothing fancy like what they said but comfortable. I definitely would go back there whenever I'm in Dumaguete and need a place to stay.

Value for money! Walking distance to Robinsons mall and Ceres Bus Terminal. Recommending this place to backpackers!

A great place to stay if you're in Dumaguete. The rooms are really nice and the host(s) is really helping you with anything you need. The hosts did insist to clean at kind off odd hours, which led to us feeling a bit uncomfortable and less private. But that's no problem when everything else is on point. Would rate this 10/10!

1. the house very clearn and good, but on the morning (05:00am)have cock crow. sleep no good. 2.the house address no easy to find, you can search in (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) map is near "dumaguete memorial park". if you go outside shopping and back to house ,you can tell the tutu drive "POGO", he will know it. from dumaguete port to this house 50-60p/tutu. from this house to robinson 10p/person. 3. the house no on the road side , which in the alley inside. 4.landlord very nice. she is very warm and freindly!

We really had a great rest at this place. Saneth and Claud are such a gracious host to us. They made our stay so memorable. They surprise us with dinner at the rooftop and under the stars and the moonlight which was so perfect. Saneth's cooking is impeccable. Saneth arranged a massage therapy for us which added to the rest that we needed. This should be your first choice if you are looking for a place to stay in Dumaguete.

I had a perfect stay in this comfortable Appartement. Conveniently close to almost everything- it was a perfect base for exploring Dumaguete! And given the good WIFI it was also a very convenient spot to plan further travels! Plus Ellen is a wonderfull host, who provided tons of usefull advice on what to do and see in town. All in all a perfect stay and I would definetly recommend everyone to stay at Ellen's place.

The room is much better in person than in photos - the room was clean and cozy. We really really appreciated that the host allowed us to check in early and check out late, plus toured us around, and didn't even charge us extra fees. We got VALUE with such an affordable rate! Highly recommended!
