Places to stay in Westenhanger
This newly renovated barn is nestled within the grounds of the listed Evegate Manor.
Situated in the heart of the Kentish countryside it offers easy access to London via Ashford international station, is just 10 mins drive from the Channel Tunnel and 25 mins from Dover. Canterbury is just 20 min away and offers a great nightlife with bars and restaurants. The barn has one double bedroom but also has a double bed settee within the living area. This would not be particularly comfortable for adults but would be fine for children or one adult. Guests have the opportunity to be completely independent within this property. There is a fully working modern kitchen within the barn with a convection hot plate, oven, microwave, dishwasher, and a large American fridge freezer, breakfast is not provided. Unfortunately there is no washing machine or tumble dryer within the barn but there are facilities in another area that are available for use at a small additional cost. We are a very friendly and accommodating family and are happy to make our guests part of the family. Any help or advice whilst you are here is no problem to us. The area we live in is very rural but is still within easy reach of towns and city's. London is just 37 mins away if you chose to use he high speed rail like from Ashford.

  • Couldn't recommend this place any more if I tried. We went here for my partners 21st for a quiet night away, prior to my visit I messaged Larissa asking of she could decorate the place and j would transfer the money. It was as if nothing was a problem for them, we arrived to a beautifully clean and decorated cottage with a bottle of prosecco and a cake! Everything we could have needed was there aside from dinner! Even down to the last bit of cotton buds and razors! Breakfast was provided as was a s small snack hamper. Hosts are very attentive and answer messages and are so helpful so quickly. Honestly, a fantastic experience and would happily return!

  • Awesome property and location, friendly owner with various farm animals and cats. Brilliant it’s dog friendly but they must be kept on lead when outside for obvious reasons. An amazing stay.

  • This place is exactly as it is in the listing; stylish, comfortable, welcoming, a quiet location making it a really relaxing stay. There were some lovely touches on arrival; fresh flowers, fruit, milk, juice, eggs, bread, butter, jams & cereals. There was a welcome folder with all the information you could need also lots of leaflets for suggestions of things to do in the area and if that’s not enough the hosts are happily available if there is anything you should need.

A stunning room with lots of natural light, this is a lovely hideaway tucked up close to the centre of the village, in easy walking distance of the castle, bistro and pub. The room has been completely refurbished to a high standard with you very much in mind. An ensuite wet room completes this beautiful space.
Please come and go as you please. We are happy to provide pots of tea and in the process of adding a Nespresso machine within the room (suggest you bring your favourite pods if you are a coffee expert!).
The village is blessed with a fantastic bistro plus a friendly pub. Lots of people visit this immediate area due to the castle being an incredible wedding venue (including our own). Port Lympne Zoo is 5 minutes drive; is a fabulous place to visit plus another favourite for weddings. We are extremely accessible to the Eurotunnel (one junction away) so if you have an early morning train, we are very conveniently placed. At the base of Lympne Hill is The Hatch, selling craft beers including local Hop Fuzz Brewery. Very popular on a summer's evening.
  • A great place to stay, with lovely people who were very welcoming and easy to be with.

Ruffyneshill Cartshed has recently been converted to provide modern style accommodation in the backdrop of the medieval Manor House. Situated on the outskirts of Aldington village, which boasts a freshfoods butcher-cum-fishmonger, post office and pub, it is well placed for visiting East Kent and beyond and is only 8 miles (15 minutes) from the Channel Tunnel. Canterbury and Rochester are within easy reach by car and the property is on the edge of Romney Marsh where time seems to stand still.
Ruffyneshill Cartshed is available for holiday or short-term let. The property has a designated area in the adjoining medieval walled garden for guests to enjoy outdoor meals. It overlooks the beautiful 16th century Ruffynes Barn. The accommodation comprises a living room with dining area and TV, a separate small but fully equipped kitchen with a small combi-microwave oven, washing-up & washing machines, bedroom with a further TV and shower room. Whilst ideal for two people, there is a sofa bed in the living area which could accommodate another adult or 2 small children and there is the king-sized (5foot) double bed with memory foam/coil sprung mattress in the main bedroom.
Aldington is 10 minutes away from Ashford, itself on the main M20 route between Folkestone and London. Ruffyneshill Cartshed is located away from the road, set in the courtyard of the former farm.

  • I have been living in Airbnb fulltime since august 2018 and travelled far and wide too. This has been by far the best experience. The hosts Janna and her partner Patrick did everything and more to make my stay as good as possible I was treated like a member of their family and included in Sunday roast meals, quiz night at the local pub, trips out (they offered me lifts in their car), walks in the most beautiful countryside with Roona their beautiful and friendly dog, and they even checked I was ok and helped me through some days when I didnt feel very well which was exceptional. The house and room is big and beautiful. Much bigger than shown in the photos and the bed is wonderfully confortable too. The location is great and only 40 minutes to Canterbuty and even quicker to get to the coast (Folkestone) and to Ashford train station (40 minutes into London) . Writing this review has been so hard alfor me as there are so many things that are exceptional - did I forget to mention a wonderful farm shop Close by that sells lovely locally produced organic food (with an 'honesty box" to pay). This is a special place with very special hosts and comes with my highest recommendation.

    Nigel2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • I loved my stay at Janna and Patrick's beautiful home in the charming village of Lyminge. The communication prior to arrival was prompt and clear and I received a warm welcome. The house and room was really comfortable, clean and well-appointed. They have two living rooms plus a conservatory so it was easy for me to find a quiet spot to relax with a book. Janna and Patrick shared some great tips about the area including suggestions of local restaurants and walks. I enjoyed my escape from the city and had a pleasant day exploring Canterbury, which is only a short bus ride away. Thank you, Janna and Patrick!

A little cottage, that's very deceiving , it's much bigger than it looks it's also a little quirky which is my style and suits the property that's nearly 200 years old. I will consider a dog staying but need to discuss this first before booking due to my male dog being intact so only castrated males and spayed females. Unfortunately due to a guest I can’t have instant booking on , sorry for any inconvenience
Close to Dover , channel tunnel, fast train link 52mins to London and 5mins for sea.
Marks and Spencer's garage, best fish and chip shop in town . Five mins to tunnel

  • Nice place to stay - very handy for tunnel

    Amanda2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Julie's place is just so convenient, straight off the M20 and a great stopover for us on our way to Dover the next day for the ferry. Julie was a lovely host, helped us find a car parking space, and left us a lovely breakfast the next morning. The room was fine, comfy bed, no traffic noise to speak of due to double glazing. And great value too, so would stay here again without hesitation.

    John2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Julie's place is perfect for a stopover if you are traveling to or from Dover or Felixstowe. The room is lovely and Julie is a very welcoming host. There's a fantastic Indian restaurant nearby and parking. Julie's is very reasonable as well.

A choice of two double bedrooms with your own bathroom opposite. In the Tudor part of the house overlooking the garden and field. Feel free to use the 15th century sitting room or relax in the magnificent 40 foot music room where once Noel Coward and The duMauriers rehearsed plays.

  • We were in the area for a family party, and to stay in this most beautiful historic house added to the magic of the weekend. We walked from the cold weather into a cosy warmth everywhere inside, and received a lovely welcome from Juliet. Everywhere was spotlessly clean, and the large bathroom with its view over the garden was a treat. We had a great sleep in our comfortable bedroom. We loved our stay!

  • A unique, thoughtful, stay in a historic landmark, far from the maddening crowd... and a step back to a mediaeval landscape when humans walked and strove to accomplish living in beauty.

  • My partner and I had a lovely nights stay at Ben & Juliets place. It really is a stunning home, very welcoming and comfortable. It is in a great location; quiet and picturesque. We found a stunning pub about 25 mins away (well worth the drive!), The Woolpack in Warehorne, for dinner on Saturday night and enjoyed a stroll around Hythe high street and along the beach the next day. Thanks again!

  • Such a lovely little spot for a relaxing break. Although the lodge is small the layout is well designed to give you plenty of space. In the evening the lodge is very warm and cosy, we could hear owls from the little porch and even saw shooting stars! In the morning we heard nothing but birds, so peaceful. Dianne was very quick to respond to all messages and very accommodating. We hope to go back soon.

Come and share a Kentish oast house, close to the North Downs Way, next to a 13thC church, and ideal for anyone wanting to enjoy the Kent countryside for walks, cycling, picturesque views, beaches and local attractions. Visit the historic town of Canterbury (25 mins), Dover Castle (30 mins) or local vineyards (23 mins). Local pubs offer excellent food. 20 mins from Channel Tunnel; 30 mins from Dover. I love having people from all backgrounds to stay, and look forward to meeting you!
The house is an old oast, used in years gone by for drying hops for making beer. The sitting room is an old cart lodge, and the bedrooms used to be the grain store. So the house is deeply-rooted in English countryside tradition, and situated down narrow country lanes (typical of this part of Kent) in a beautiful valley in an Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Court Lodge Oast is part of Court Lodge Farm. Farming stopped in the 1980's and, since then, the buildings have been turned into houses. It is situated in a valley in the North Downs, down pretty, narrow country lanes so you need a car if you want to visit attractions. If you are just here for walking, just open the door and take your choice of the numerous tracks and by-ways that surround the house!
  • Selina was lovely. She offered freshly made scones, was flexible with the check-in time and the place looked great. I spent some time talking to Selina and her son who were both very welcoming and accommodating.

  • Selina made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. She had a lot of information about the area and she even gave us maps to go for a walk. The room was clean and had everything we could need. When we left, she gave us some delicious rock buns, which was a nice touch. Definitely recommended.

  • We stayed with Selina for one night at the end of our trip before taking the ferry back to Calais and it felt like saving the best for last. Selina lives in an amazing home with Dougal, her adorable dog. The hole house and especially our room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and very beautiful. We slept great on the comfy bed and enjoyed our breakfast. The best thing was Selina herself - she was an amazing host and talking to her was a true inspiration. We hope to be back one day! All the best to you, Selina!

  • An absolutely stunning b&b and a wonderful host. We highly recommend this place. In the morning we had a lovely fresh made breakfast. We'll certainly come back!

    Fokke2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Tucked away in a Kent hamlet, Selina’s place was idyllic. It was a shared bathroom but it was two steps across the hall and we had it to ourselves anyway. Selina was welcoming but unobtrusive and made us feel very at home. We were en route to the Channel Tunnel and this is the perfect stop off. Far from the madding crowd but at the same time in the middle of everywhere! Would highly recommend.

In our family home, the room you’ll be staying in is light & airy with one double bed. It is at the top of our terraced house so there are TWO FLIGHTS OF STAIRS. The shower room, one floor down, will be solely for your use during your stay. In your room there is a breakfast tray, small fridge, toaster & kettle. Tea & coffee are available. Breakfast in your room consists of cereal, bread for toast, marmalade/jam, fruit, cheese & biscuits & orange juice. This will be refreshed daily if required.
Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate dogs or any other pets. Guests arrival after 2pm & on departure by 11am would be appreciated.
From Hythe to the Eurotunnel Terminal, Folkestone is just 3 miles. To Dover docks we are 12.7 miles away. Stay here overnight before heading to Europe or stay here before you explore the UK. In Hythe we have the delightful Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway. A miniature railway that can take you all the way to Dungeness. St Leonards Church has an ossuary containing over 2,000 skulls & 8,000 thigh bones dating from the medieval period, stored to make way for new graves.....Probably! Port Lympne animal park is close by & you can feel like you are on safari there, one of my favourite places. Brockhill Park is also a glorious place to take a walk. From The Royal Military Canal is a canal running for 28 miles between Seabrook, nr Hythe & Rye. The canal route in Hythe is easily accessible for all abilities. It’s really quite beautiful. Rick & I can give you more information. Hythe also has quaint independent shops & an array of smart cafes, restaurants & pubs. Five minutes walk from our house to the right is the canal. Five minutes walk from our house to the left is the sea & promenade.

  • Beautiful room with two very kind and generous hosts! Rick and Lynne had some really good advice what to do in the area. Although it is "just a private room" and not a flat, you have enough privacy, as well as great communication. Would totally come here again (if there are more roasted potatoes) :)

    Andreas2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • During the time I spent in England this was by far the best place I've stayed. The room and especially the bathroom are beautiful. The breakfast was very good. Lynne and Rick are very friendly, polite and helpful people.

  • Probably one of the nicest AirBnBs we’ve ever visited. Super friendly hosts, beautifully decorated, very clean and comfortable. No thing left to wish for. Would go back any time. 10 out of 10

    Dominik2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect in every way. If you get the opportunity to stay here DO NOT miss it. Angie really is "the hostess with the mostess". Her and her husband were never intrusive in any way but always available and as attentive and helpful as you needed/wanted them to be. You have a separate entrance to your airbnb area. The space is excellent, tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean with generous extras such as tea, coffee and "get you in" bits such as bread and milk. The panoramic view from your room is of the beautiful Kent countryside. In the spring and summer the patio doors open onto a large well furnished decking area where you can sit with a nice drink and admire the view, or you might be more fortunate than us and have weather conducive to taking a swim in the pool or relaxing in the hot tub. My wife and I can also recommend the Dukes Head pub and restaurant which is only a 5 minute walk away. The food is great and the friendly service is second to none. I think this accommodation is ideal for a romantic getaway, couples of any age wanting a quiet break away to relax or a couple with up to two childred able to share the large and sturdy bed setee. I could wax lyrical about our lovely time spent at Angie's place, suffice to say go and find out for yourself.

    Brian2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful little gem. A beautifully presented room with everything you need to make for a relaxed and comfortable stay. A double bed and a great sized bathroom, with a bath and a shower to choose from. A lovely welcome surprise was the wine and chocolates! It is quiet which was very much appreciated coming from the hustle and bustle of the city. I woke up to a lovely view which I enjoyed while eating breakfast. There is a separate door to enter and exit so you have your own privacy but the hosts are close by if needed. Would definitely stay again and am already looking forward to a return trip to try out the hot tub!

    Mandy2019-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home. Both Angie and Paul were great hosts, warm, friendly and helpful while also respecting our privacy. The room was spacious for us two, sparking clean and tastefully decorated and the bed was very comfortable. We loved the little touches like a bottle of wine on arrival, chocolates, bread and milk. We didn’t try out the hot tub but we did enjoy a delicious, hearty meal at the Dukes Head, a very short walk along the road, which also included a 15% discount as we were guests at Orchard End. We will wholeheartedly recommend this place to our friends and family. We also recommend a visit to Angie’s wonderful gift shop, Hobbs & Hearts, which is just the other side of the road.

1 Bedroom self contained studio, with private entrance(and includes self check in) , which is situated along a beautiful quiet lane, it also has it's own private parking on driveway.
This is located in a beautiful village, with a nearby popular Chinese and Indian restaurant, together with a village shop, coffee shop and local pub.
  • Emma was a great host - communication was clear and quick, and she was flexible about our arrival time. The accommodation is self-contained and while not exactly spacious, it's clean, comfortable and more than adequate for a few days. The bed is very comfortable and the setting is incredibly quiet and restful. The village is generally very quiet - it's not one of those places that's got a constant stream of traffic through, so it's pleasant to walk around, and easy to find footpaths that lead into the countryside nearby. The Gatehouse pub in the nearby village of Etchinghill has excellent food, and there's a good farm shop a 12 minute walk from Emma's. All in all, we had a great short break in Lyminge!

Nice room with private bathroom and a wonderful bed, good breakfast in the room, coffee and tea facilities, water and fruit. Vivian is very helpful and caring and has helped us on our way. A cozy pub within walking distance where you can eat well. We went golfing at Etchinghill and at Leeds castle golf club, great to do without a reservation, we were there on Monday and Wednesday. The train station to London Charing Cross is a 2-minute walk from the Airbnb for a day trip to London. The DFDS ferry (outward) and the Euro tunnel shuttle (back) are very close (less than 20 minutes). Canterbury is a must to visit.

  • Vivian is a lovely host who is very eager to make sure you have a great stay. We have stayed here on several occasions and will certainly be back again next year. The house has a good pub in easy walking distance and is also only about 10 minutes from channel tunnel.

  • Highly recommend Vivian’s place. Lovely lady where nothing was too much trouble! Thank you x

    Georgie2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • A very nice room with an eye for details. The possibility to make your own tea and coffee is available. A very attentive, determined hostess who would be happy to advise you, for example, when looking for a place to eat. She provided a delicious breakfast for us! We stayed there for a very short time, arrived in the late afternoon and left early. As the last night for a crossing by boat in Dover or Folkstone it is a perfect place!

  • We have stayed with Vivian several times and she is a lovely host. Room is very clean and Vivian could not be more welcoming. There is a good pub for evening meal only 20 minutes walk. Accommodation is only 10 minutes from channel tunnel. We will be staying again in August.

  • Alison was a great host, super friendly and welcoming. We checked in earlier at her request but actually this worked well for us. The house is lovely and was in the perfect location for us as we were at an event 100 metres down the road. Comfy bed and cute cat!

  • Lovely cottage and an ideal location to explore Kent

  • We had a lovely weekend at Old Manor Cottage. Alison is an amazing host who made us feel so welcome. The bedroom was spacious with a very comfortable bed. It's a wonderful place to stay, spotlessly clean too and we cannot recommend it highly enough.

    David2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location if visiting Lympne Castle or going into Hythe, Alisons home was very cozy and full of character, bed very comfortable and everything was spotless. She also gave great advice about a lovely seafood restaurant by the sea in Hythe which was only 10 minutes drive away, much enjoyed.

    Kayleigh2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely room in a beautifully situated house, excellent views. Very nice bathroom opposite the room and comfortable bed. The host offered us breakfast and coffee in the morning and was very welcoming. She also was fine about us coming back from a party very late at night! Great host and room overall.

  • I recently took part in a film and needed accommodation near to where we were shooting. This visit was perfect, being praceful, spacious and comfortable, and benefiting from the host's excellent hospitality and thoughtful touches. The hosts' communications and help were excellent, and they gave very prompt replies to my queries. The rooms were immaculate and had many thoughtful touches. Highly recommended!

  • Very friendly and always insidertips, special wishes - special services - no problems for Wonka and Richard!

    Gudrun2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • My partner stayed at Wonka and Richards place the night before a Dover ferry crossing. He said he had a really comfortable stay. Beautiful setting and nice and quiet. He slept really well. Wonka and Richard were lovely hosts with nice touches like homemade cake in the room for him. He chose the option to have a cooked breakfast for a small payment and he said it was really good. It was easy for him to get to Dover from there. Wonka was really good with contact and directions and my partner would be happy to stay there again and I would choose to too if I was going to be in that area. Thanks so much Wonka and Richard.

    Carol2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Nice surrounding. Should take a look the food in fridge, we had an expired juice and bad milk. Many spiders and spider nets hanging on the ceiling in the bedroom. Maybe it's normal in countryside but a bit scary for a city girl like me.

    Lu2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Although ideal for our trip though the tunnel, it's a lovely stay for every trip, fantastichost and lovely clean accommodation, highly recommended

    Shaa2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Wow. What a place. It was so tasteful and decadent. And a little quirky. The decor was lovely and comfortable. The record player was an excellent touch and even with the extreme weather conditions it was really peaceful watching the sea and listening to some music. No TV which was an excellent decision. It meant we could enjoy all the beauty and have some valuable time together. We would love a return. Every day of our lives.

    Leigh2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Really beautiful place. Pleasantly bright and airy during the day, relaxing and luxurious feel during the night. Very well thought out space with lots of sweet touches. Log burner, record player and bluetooth speaker were winning additions for my boyfriend and I. Susanna is also very lovely, sent recommendations before our stay and was super pleasant in person. She even left breakfast out for us in the morning! Perfect for a little relaxing/romantic getaway.

    Phyllis2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Just WOW! Made to feel so at home and left fully recharged and refreshed. Couldn’t recommend it enough. Home from home but with the added glam! Absolutely loved it.

Guests have a private bathroom. A dining table is available in the kitchen for guest use but the kitchen isn't available for cooking. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided. • What a lovely home and wonderfully warm hosts. We have been to folkstone a number of times and booked last minute and Julie was so great that we were confirmed before we got off the train from london! Place is a 5 min £5 taxi ride from the center of town and there is an easy bus. The place is spotless (my own home is rarely that impeccable!) and the bedroom cozy and comfortable. Coffee and tea in the morning if you fancy. All in all a total winner of a space with mega-friendly hosts to boot!

Cosy, pet-friendly annex on our secluded free-hold in the beautiful countryside of Kent, located just 10 minutes from the Channel Tunnel and 20 minutes from Dover Ferry Port. Wake up to the sound of Bertie the rooster announcing a new day! Relax in the hammock watching Dudley the donkey or enjoy a brisk country walk along the many public footpaths in our area - perfect for dog walkers. If you fancy a day trip, you can be in London within an hour or Canterbury in 20 minutes.
You'll be staying in our newly established annex, furnished with all you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay including washing machine and drying racks, iron and ironing board and full kitchen facilities including fridge with freezer compartment, halogen hob, oven, dishwasher, toaster, kettle and, of course, tea and coffee making facilities. The sofa folds into a double bed so if you do bring a child, a friend, a parent he/she would be able to sleep in the living room. We don't think the annex is suitable for 4 adults. There is secure private parking on the property. Tepid-water out door dog shower by the main gate. If you do find that there is anything you think would improve the comfort of your stay please let us know and we'll see what we can do.
We love the peace and quiet. Plenty of good walks close by. Deceptively easy access to London as well as the continent so ideal not only for country lovers but also for business travellers looking for a quiet home away from home.
  • We had a lovely stay, the accommodation was very clean & had nice little touches which made it very homely. It slept 3 adults & 1 dog very comfortably. We heard the rooster but it wasn’t loud enough to keep us awake. Overall, a really lovely stay & great hosts - would highly recommend!

    Kayleigh2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect spot for a pre-Eurotunnel stopover - but so much more! The area is stunning, there’s space to walk the dog from the front door, and it’s a properly secluded little spot. Lovely place to stay, equipped with everything you could possibly need!

    Susannah2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • The Peacock Mews annex was a perfect place to stay for one night with our two dogs. The large garden is secure and dog proof. The annex was very well equipped. We liked all the helpful reading material such as maps and dog walk information. We had read reviews about the cockerel’s dawn alarm, but it didn’t bother us at all. The owners are lovely and very friendly and helpful. They suggested Dymchurch sandy beach (20/25 minute drive away) for a dog walk and wow it was stunning! The dogs had a fantastic time.

    Wendy2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay for departure or arrival via Eurotunnel. But make sure you do not use the postcode given for the Eurotunnel passenger departure location as it takes you to the personnel/services part. I stayed at Guy's with my dog and the place is spacious and practical, as well as quiet. Good walking from the doorstep, too. Kitchen is very well equipped for those who like to cook.

    Susanna2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed with our dog for just one night prior to taking the shuttle to Calais, and the annexe suited our needs perfectly. It is exactly as described and shown in the photos. Communication with the host was excellent and check in/out seamless. The location was perfect for our needs.

    Pat2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I stayed at Guy’s place for 1 night and absolutely loved it. He was very responsive and check in was a breeze. The space was lovely, comfortable and clean. It was a perfect getaway and close to the Cliffs of Dover as well as Canterbury. Highly recommend.

    Patrick & Ally2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed the night before an early start on the Shuttle and it was perfect - warm convenient and comfortable.

    Keith2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was spot-on!! Plus Guy was on-call with any queries and correspondence. The AirBnB is situated on the grounds with the main house off to the right as you exit it (so the main house overlooks the AirBnB) - this means it isn't totally private if you needed to know this. All information relative to our stay was transparent and appreciated. Guy was very polite and cooperative. We will definitely stay here again with our three small dogs. We were able to let them out, off the lead, due to its fenced enclosure and there's a large garden area for the dogs that is gated until you open it situated directly in front of you (this is also fenced off aka dog-proof). It really did tick all the boxes. Just a quickie note: the flooring is cold so bring slippers!

A welcoming, sunny room overlooking a beautiful garden with hills beyond, an area named as being of outstanding beauty. The little steam train runs near the back of the house and the station is 10 mins walk away. Railway runs alongside picturesque Hythe canal and coastline with various stops ending up at seaside station Dungeness. Hythe Cinque Ports town is historical, quaint and the high street has some great shops and places to eat. House is walking distance to town sea and attractions.
Free parking a few seconds walk from house. There is a large kitchen with a dining area and I'm happy for you to help yourself to hot drinks and the breakfast which I can provide for you. Please let me know if you have any dietary requirements before you come.
I love living here and the bedroom which you will be occupying is quiet and relaxing environment
  • It is a very cozy and friendly house. Sally is a great owner and very caring person. The house in a great place close to the railway station, bus stop and grocery shop. I will definitely recommend you to stay at this place and visit places around.

    Антон2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • I was so lucky to pick Sallys place from all the AirBnB's in Kent! I stayed for five nights and really felt at home. The room is small but very lovely with great views on a peaceful garden (and come on, the size doesn't matter here, no one wants to stay indoors the whole time if there is so much to explore in the area!), and I was welcomed to use the rest of the comfy house and I especially loved the kitchen. Sally and her family (with the most cuddly cat I ever met) are very open minded and helpful, we had great chats, lovely meals and fun together. I also loved Hythe, there are great walks and interesting places in the area to explore (if you visit, don't miss the crypt and a trip on the little steam train to Dungeness). All in all a wonderful AirBnB-experience. I will miss that place :)

  • Sally is a very warm and welcoming host. I had a lovely, albeit brief, stay in her home. The views from the bedroom were delightful and very peaceful. It was a pleasure to stay there and I hope to return in the future.

  • I stayed here for 2 nights. Sally is a very kind and welcoming host. The location is very good and the scenery around is the best. You can walk to the sea in about 10 minutes. It takes about 25 minutes by bus from Folkestone Station. It takes about an hour and a half from London. You can also get to Canterbury directly from the bus stop, which is a 3-minute walk from Canterbury. Since Canterbury itself is a small town, you can go sightseeing in one full day. I also regret that I wanted to spend another night personally for sightseeing in the surrounding area because my home area is wonderful. The breakfast served in the UK style is very delicious and dinner is a treat. I am very satisfied because the food is very good. There is a cute cat. As friendly as Wan Chang, I will come soon. A family can live with a junior high school son to see the feeling of a homey family. The room is very clean. There is no particular place of concern. The rooms are small and not big, but they are enough. There is a hanger, but there is no closet, so it is almost impossible to put on clothes. But there are baskets, tables and chairs in the room, so there is no problem if you use them. The only drawback is that there is no shower in the bath, so you have to wash your body with Callan in the bathtub. At first I struggled, but I'm fine if I get used to it. Japanese use is said to be the third in me. I love art and travel, so it's interesting to hear stories about it. Sally's English is quite easy to hear, so it might be good for those who are not confident in English. Anyway, this is a recommended hotel, so please take this opportunity! Thanks a lot, Sally. I reccomend her.

  • Sally was such a wonderful host, incredibly welcoming and such a lovely family. The house is very central and only a few minutes walk from the center of town and the beach. There was always parking available outside the house but no car noise. I was there in the summer and all of the flowers in the garden were blooming and it was gorgeous! Thank you so much Sally for the great visit, will be back again <3

  • We loved our stay at Marion's place and enjoyed being so close to the sea for a morning and evening dip. Marion and Stuart were very helpful - offering us recommendations for the town and surroundings and offering us a delicious breakfast in the morning. • Nice place and quiet neighborhood. Comfortable beds and it was good to relax before crossing the channel. A little trouble finding the instructions but Claire quickly responded and we realized it was in the back of the comments book on the table. Also I had a little trouble with the handheld shower since I had a broken hand and I couldn't find the hair dryer but other than that it was very nice. Would recommend to anyone.

Fresh milk in the fridge, butter, fresh crumpets, tea and coffee, really helpful when we were leaving early for the tunnel in the morning to feed us something before we left. We would definitely stay here again.

  • Claire’s house was perfect for our needs, comfy, clean with space for the whole family and SO close to the tunnel. Claire was super helpful with communications, and all in all it made a fabulous start to our holiday!

Sit in the leafy garden looking out over the beautiful countryside outside this small cottage in peaceful, secluded Romney Marsh. Perfect for couples wanting to escape to enjoy some time together or solo travelers seeking refuge.
We offer a tiny cottage, warm in winter and cool in summer, as a perfect escape with no disturbances.
The cottage is in the countryside of Romney Marsh, offering views, birds, wildlife, and peace and quiet. Pubs and the beach are within walking distance. Dover, Tenterden, and Canterbury are all within easy reach.
  • A lovely, comfortable, clean and homely small cottage, ideal for a romantic getaway or much needed rest and relaxation. Our hosts, Jan and John, made us feel very welcome without being intrusive. If we had a query or issue, they were very quick to respond, helpfully and with patience (we had a challenge with the new electric hob!). The kitchen is well equipped if you prefer to cook your own meals. The cottage is well located, with good outside space and lovely views in a very peaceful setting, but within easy reach of the coastal towns of Hythe and Folkestone. We would definitely recommend this accommodation. Thank you Jan and John for a lovely relaxing stay.

  • It is a great feeling to visit Jan and John, most humble and down to earth beings. They made us feel very comfortable, went way beyond and dropped us to the station, gave us their fresh apples from the garden. Place is beautifully located, best hosts i have come across until now. Thank you so much for having us.

  • This is a beautiful retreat, quiet and thoughtfully prepared and equipped. Jan welcomed us in person and ensured we were comfortable and warm during a wet and windy weekend!

  • This is the most considered accommodation I've ever stayed in. Jan had personal touches that went above the average. I will definitely be visiting again.

  • A complete escape in a quiet location but not far from the beach and pubs etc. Enjoyed walking some of the Royal Military Canal and of course the Romney Hythe and Dymchurch railway is always worth a visit. A compact and pretty cottage with a comfortable bed and lovely host. Thank you Jan, we will be back.

  • Lovely little cottage. Very well equipped. It has everything you may need. Perfect for a short visit away from the noise of everyday life. Beautiful and quite surroundings. Absolutely most helpful and kind hosts. I recommend this this place to anyone seeking for a bit of home away from home with extra peace and quite included. Thank you Jan x

  • Had a super relaxing break away from the city. Jan was an amazing host who greeted us warmly and made our stay that bit more enjoyable and we both loved the little touches of welcome in the cottage. Views are stunning and the location is idyllic. Thank you again Jan.

  • What a warm welcome from Alice & Tony, and their lovely dogs. With a private staircase, private bathroom and spacious, luxurious bedroom, it was super comfortable and peaceful night’s sleep. We had a fantastic dinner at Kent’s 2019 pub of the year-the 5 Bells Pub Brabourne, and delicious breakfast at the Lympne Castle Bistro.
