  • It was a beautiful cottage. So tastefully decorated. Lots of special touches. Ros was helpful and flexible. Perfect stay.

  • As everyone else has said, the location is fantastic. The Coach House is only around five minutes walk to everywhere you could need or want for a weekend away: historic buildings, lovely shops, places to eat and drink. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly everywhere we went. The accommodation was warm, cosy, kitchen really easy to use, comfortable living room. Even in the bad weather, it was nice to look out into the courtyard. Staircase was very easy to climb. Lovely bathroom with easy-to-use shower, and really comfortable beds with plenty of space in the bedrooms for luggage and clothes. There was a hairdryer, ironing board and iron on the landing too, so you didn't have to hunt for them. The hosts were very thoughtful, greeted us when we arrived and made it clear we could contact them at any time if we needed anything, but they'd already thought of everything! Thank you again for a wonderful stay.

  • Great space with a great location. A minute walk from the Cathedral and local amenities. Clean house and comfy beds. Good space for my big dog to sleep after a long day in the hills. Nice proximity (20mins) from Cheddar Gorge and even Bath. Thanks for a great stay Ros.

  • Ros's place is ideally situated for visiting Wells and surrounding areas. The beautiful coach house was clean and comfortable and Ros's extra touches were very thoughtful. We had a lovely, albeit short stay.

  • Great location in the centre of Wells. Accommodation was clean and comfortable with everything you will need

    Charlie2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The Coach House is warm and comfortable, with everything you could need in place. It is only a five minute walk from the cathedral and shopping centre of Wells yet is very quiet. The hosts live just next door and immediately answer any email queries you have before you arrive. I throughly recommend staying here.

    Jill2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Ros for a great one night stay in the coach house. Perfectly situated and having a car parking space was so useful - more so than we thought it would be after visiting! Thanks

Beautiful house and cottages in the heart of Somerset Countryside, stunning views of Mendip Hills & Cheddar. 6 bed home and two, 2 bed cottages, with 7 bathrooms altogether, sleeps 26 in total. The cottages are just a few yards from the main farmhouse, linked by a large patio. 11 acres of space, large play area.
We offer a large, secure farmhouse and two, 2 bedroomed cottages with grounds , totalling approx. 11 acres, that are accessed through an electric wooden gate, making it totally safe and private. The house and cottages are part of the total booking. The farmhouse sleeps 18 and has six bedrooms, each of the cottages have 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, sleeping four guests each. Bedrooms 5 and 6 are what we call secret rooms and are behind small doors and have very steep stairs (not suitable for young children or people with mobility issues). There is a huge parking area and two large fields. We have a helicopter pad, should this be your preferred method of transport!! Please note that price quoted is for large house and 2, two bedroomed cottages.
Tranquility is the word that best describes Box Farm. the moment the electric gates open and the view is there in front of you, it dawns on you that you have entered into a rural ideal.
  • Box Farm is the perfect place for a reunion! We had a fantastic weekend celebrating a surprise 25th birthday, the house and cottages were perfect and had literally everything we needed - we particularly loved the snug with the warm fire! Supermarkets and the train station (highbridge) were only a short 20minute drive away with lots of direct trains from London and Bristol making it easy for many of the group! We had a warm welcome from Eve's friend Martin who kindly recommended we visit lands end (wilkies) farm for cider tasting - its was the highlight of the weekend for us all! Only a 25min walk along the country road to plenty of delicious cider, Apple juice and cheese for just £10 a head! And Roger Wilkins kept us all entertained with his many stories - including how he got a Banksy on his farm. We all can't wait to plan our next reunion and hope to return to Box Farm together again soon!

  • This house is brilliant! Huge living room for everyone to congregate in, two separate cottages for people who want to have a early night. Really affordable price, great directions to find the place, it’s quirky and has lots of character and is super clean.

    Emma2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Box Farm is incredible. We had it for a combined 30th birthday and New Years celebration, and we couldn’t have had a better place. 24 of us were super comfortable in the space, perfect for a mix of couples in double rooms and singles in the group rooms. Lounge and kitchen were fantastic, dining room had room for us all, the Sonos and Soundsystem were excellent. Nothing was missing. Eve was fantastic with communicating, helped us out with finding the local clay shooting ground and more. Martin checked us in, took me for a whole guided tour and we had his number in case we needed anything. Honestly cannot rate this place highly enough - just the most fantastic time had by all.

    Jamie2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house and two excellent modern cottages. The pictures don’t do it justice. We had a big group who had a lovely time exploring the house and local area. WiFi, stereo and sonos system were useful. Kitchen is well set up. The heating is effective. Great check in with Martin who was a real gent. There’s so many little things to discover in the house from the art, to the train carriage. It was a special stay.

    Adam2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • The house was great, the cottages were awesome, they were kitted out to such a high standard, both with kitchen and living space. We loved all the quirky features and the hidden rooms in the main house. The weather held for us and we managed to use the space outside, including the sheltered fire pit. The group are already arranging to meet again next year and this house was the catalyst for that. Thanks!

    Nick2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Eve’s property was perfect for our large gathering to celebrate a 90th birthday. There were things of interest to see and do for young and old. The field was perfect for football etc., the fire pit ideal for playing games of Werewolf around, the house quirky and full of interesting artifacts and the barbecue great for outside dining. We had a wonderful weekend.

    Nick2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous property in the countryside whilst still close to the beach. Easily enough space for all 26 people and was clean and well equipped. Lots of interesting features to the house including some of the bedrooms! Thanks to Eve and Martin for all their help.

    Stephen2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place full of character, characters, artefacts, collectibles and humour. Fantastic outside space nd facilities. More than enough beds and the cottages are fantastic. Super host, with very fast responses and excellent staff working for the property. Thanks very much indeed.

  • We had a delightful time ... and it was my first ever Air B&B! ... it was all fabulous... Beautiful home in a stunning location... Kim has created a much appreciated wee slice of heaven...

    Angela2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Communication with Kim was first class from start to finish. Finding the farmhouse was very simple indeed, is nice and secluded, and lovely setting. White Hart Farm has a lovely country farmhouse feel to it, is exceptionally clean and tidy, and has all the amenities you need. Bedrooms are nice and beds comfy, nice big TV in the living room area, with plenty of DVD's to choose from. Personal touches were most appreciated, with fresh flowers around the house, gorgeous fresh eggs, butter, jam, and a great array of teas and coffees. Local pub, 10/15mins walk down the road is The Sheppy Inn, does great food, and a superb selection of wines, craft beers, and of course, lots of ciders. Top place to visit. Thanks for a great stay Kim, we all absolutely felt at home. Cheers.

    Roy2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely secluded cottage in amazing countryside. Kim was a fantastic host and there was absolutely everything you'd need to hand at the cottage!

  • A wonderful stay in the countryside just a stone’s throw away from the lovely city of Wells with all its local attractions. Property is well presented with modern amenities and a very comfy sofa and large tv for relaxing at the end of the day. Good selection of dvds and board games to keep you entertained on rainy days and a well stocked selection of teas and coffee. Host was always available to answer any questions and was super flexible around our young family requirements. Thank you for a lovely relaxing break, just what we needed!

Small, self contained flat in peaceful location which is great for a staycation, work-from-home alternative. Short walking distance to historic centre of Wells, England's smallest city. Home from home facilities, to make your stay easy and comfortable. Good WiFi. Fully equipped kitchen with local supermarkets within walking distance. Owner lives very locally to offer good contact, support and information.
A studio apartment which is compact, freshly decorated and cosy with all you need for a short stay.
Wells, the smallest city in England, is set on the western slopes of the Mendip Hills of North Somerset which provide a beautiful backdrop to this historical city. It's compactness allows visitors to enjoy the medieval streets and architecture of foot; visit the stunning cathedral (with reputedly the finest West facade in the country); the beautiful Bishop's Palace Gardens and moat; and enjoy the twice a week famous Wells market which offers fine local foods and produce, arts and crafts. Heading out of the city, there are public footpaths leading to the East and West Mendip ways, without even needing to use a car. The top of Ebbor Gorge provides stunning views of Glastonbury Tor, the Levels and the coast beyond. There are over 9000 rights of way in Somerset, and 72 nature reserves. Large flocks of pintail, teal, widgeon and lapwing are a common sight and visits from patrolling raptors such as peregrine falcon and marsh harrier are common. Pintail duck travel from as far as Russia to spend winter in the this area: and murmurations of starlings are a common sight in the Levels around Glastonbury. Visitors with more time to spare, there are many other places to visit within the area such as stately Bath, spiritual Glastonbury, the market towns of Somerton and Dunster, and of course the shopping experiences of Clark's Village at Street are a must!

It is extremely well located, being close to the bus station (handy if like me you arrive by public transport), close to a couple of big supermarkets and 2 minutes' walk into the centre of town. It is nicely furnished and has a beautiful kitchen. The shower worked well and the bed was warm and comfy. It was a real home away from home and I loved staying here.

On the hilltops there are hundreds of ancient monuments, whilst on steeper slopes flower rich grasslands and wooded combes offer varied habitats for a wide variety of wildlife. In recognition of its special qualities the area has been designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). One of 46 AONBs in England, Wales and Northern Ireland these nationally protected landscapes managed through local Partnerships on behalf of the nation. Source: Mendip Hills AONB Unit

Thanks so much for a wonderful stay! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone who is after a quiet & relaxing break away.

    Juliet2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a long weekend at the barn and in all honesty this was the best Airbnb we've ever seen! The barn has literally everything you could imagine and you might need for your stay. We particularly enjoyed the beautiful terrace and the flowery garden to have dinner. Helen was the perfect host, the breakfast and cake were delicious and her recommendations for trips and food were great too. The house was spotlessly clean and we loved that it is so quiet in the village. The region is great if you like nature. We will certainly be back!

  • Wonderful restful weekend. Glastonbury, Wells and Cheddar are very accessible. The local pub is just next door and we had a lovely dinner there. Steve thought of absolutely everything ... it’s the small personal touches that make this place special.

    Alfia2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Steve’s place was sparkling clean on arrival and the cottage has everything you could need. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely return. Steve gave us the warmest welcome and helped us very quickly when I needed anything! We had our two dogs with us and they very much enjoyed the private garden which is opposite the cottage. Overall, I can’t speak highly enough of Steve’s services and the cottage, we had such a great time and it felt like a home from home. Thanks again for being such a fantastic host and we hope to see you again in the future!

  • We Stayed at "The Boot" for a long weekend, even though we arrived late due traffic and horrendous weather We were still greeted by the host Steve who lets us in and showed us what's what then left us to our own devices. The Boot is perfectly situated to explore the surrounding area and was very comfortable and well equipped with the nice touches of milk in the fridge tea and coffee and some biscuits which my boys devoured, would definitely stay there again

    Stuart2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at "The BOOT." The cottage is cosy and comfortable and has everything you need. The secure garden and dog goodies (treats, bowls, blanket) made travelling with our dog more convenient. The location is great for a relaxing break, there are a range of walks from the door and we found it a convenient base to explore the Cheddar Gorge area.

    Christine2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage that is very comfortable and clean. It is well equipped with all things that you would need. It is in a great location, only a few miles from Wells, Wookey Hole and Cheddar Gorge. Steve is a great host and provides extras for your dog like treats, bowls and towels. There was milk and a tin of biscuits provided for us as well. The local pub which is only a few yards walk away allows dogs in the bar and does very good food.

    Sally2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely cottage around the corner from the pub in a pretty village.

    Lawrie2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • We very much enjoyed our stay at The Boot. Would recommend.

    Chris2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect little cottage for a family of 4. Everything you need for a comfortable stay. We didn’t spend too much time indoors but the smart tv was enjoyed by the children, as was the WiFi! Great location, some lovely walks right on the doorstep and a most excellent pub just 20m away. We ate there twice! Steve is a very helpful host, offer advise when asked but not pushy. I’m sure he would have done a lot more for us had we asked, thanks Steve.

Who would’ve thought that a humble, disused barn could be reimagined into such an uber cool pad? The perfect hideout for two, the Bolt can be found off the beaten track in a wild and rustic countryside setting; for the most part undiscovered and yet within only four minute’s-drive from the town of Wells. Designed around its original features there’s a distinctly urban feel to the space, with split-level resin flooring and steel beams contrasting the interior’s plush retro styling. A contemporary wood burning stove and chic furnishings add to the luxury of the open plan living area, and a modern kitchen complete with a cooker, fridge, and dishwasher means guests get to enjoy their time alone in complete comfort. A large folding door makes the most of the beautiful setting and rural views, flooding the home with natural light and inviting the fresh country air inside, and the deliberately darker colour palette that adorns the walls creates a romantic, sultry mood throughout. Carefully positioned lighting brings a unique atmosphere to every area within the space, and a gorgeous master bedroom featuring a king size bed and bespoke cowry shell chandelier; fashions a sumptuous retreat that’s perfectly suited to lazy mornings and breakfasts in bed. Outdoors there’s plenty more on offer with a spacious slate patio being the perfect place to enjoy the sunshine. Grab a throw and relax on a sun-lounger with a good book, or spend hours soaking in your own private hot tub without a care in the world.

  • The Bolt is such a beautiful and well thought out property, inside and out. Our hosts were helpful, communicative and made us feel so welcome and really like it was our home away from home for the weekend. Everything was flawless, such great attention to detail - everything you could want and incredibly clean. It really made a special weekend perfect. We can't wait to go back. Thank you!

    Chloe2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful hideaway with stunning views. The lambs would come up to the wall from the neighbouring field providing a great backdrop whilst drinking coffee and planning the day ahead.

    Oliver2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful, quiet and relaxing location. Decor was stylish but cosy, and it had all the amenities youd expect. The hot tub is an amazing addition. As the name suggests, it's a feels like a great hideaway. My friend and I wanted somewhere to escape our busy lives for a long weekend, and this was the perfect setting. The hosts were really friendly when we arrived and departed, but also allowed us our privacy during the stay. I would recommend and hope to go back!

  • Carols place was beyond perfect. The pictures do not do the place justice. Very clean and cosey place to take a break to. She even left some delicious scones and great tips for the surrounding areas. The place is a 5 minute drive to Wookey Hole and very close drive to wells town centre. I would definitley recommend a stay here, she was great communicating too. I would give 10 stars if i could :)

    Christy2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Carol's appartment was a very nice place to stay. It was clean, comfortable and I felt at home there. Being able to see sheep in the fields outside was nice. There was a good sized private terrace, which I didn't use as it was winter, but would be lovely in the spring/ summer. It is in a quiet and rural spot, but only a 10 min drive to Wells, which is a historic market town with a cathedral and some nice shops and cafes (and a few large supermarkets). I asked to check-in a bit early and Carol was very accommodating which I appreciated.

    Cat2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • It is a lovely, relaxing place. We spent Christmas at Swallow's Nest so probably spent more time there than we usually would for a weekend away. It was cosy and well-furnished. Perfect for chilling out. There are some nice pubs nearby at the end of a country walk. I would recommend it.

The neighbourhood is peaceful and the house situated in a small cul de sac. At the top of the road there is a green space and a children's play area. • Helena is an amazing host. She is so attentive and caring, you feel immediately good as soon as you arrive at her house. The house is lovely, the bedroom was very comfortable, I felt safe and in a soft cocoon there. The cats are also so cute ! Everything is clean, and the bedroom has an addictive smell of clean sheets that I personally loved.

  • Helena is absolutely lovely , perfect host 100%, not intrusive but really helpful , the house is only 5 minutes walking to the town centre. Will definitely book with her again! Highly recommend

  • Very good location, kind host, easy walk (downhill) to town main street and a direct (uphill) walk back. Comfortable room and access to bathroom and kitchen.

    Raphael2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • I enjoyed my stay at Helena, her sense of ease make me felt at home. I also enjoyed our conversation, as Helena is quite knowledgeable about Glastonbury area. The space is very tidy, clean and simple. I also loves her friendly cats!

    Shanni2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • I had been given some last minute time off work and when looking on AirBnB came across Helena’s place. It seemed perfect for a solo trip for a couple of says away, and it definitely was! Helena was quick at responding and great with all of my questions before I booked (including reassurance of car parking spots!). When I arrived, she gave me a warm welcome after driving 5 hours to get there - letting me in, offering me a drink and to sit down/chat before showing me my room and leaving me to settle for the evening. The room itself was lovely, perfect for a couple of days stay - clean, comfortable bed, a lamp for evening reading, drawers should you need them (I tend to travel light). The shower was clean and simple to use. Helena also offered me to keep my milk in the fridge and have use of cutlery, should I need it. The house is only a short walk from the town and right across the road from a local corner shop (which is open late if you need anything!). The only thing I’d say is that it IS uphill so maybe not suitable for those who will be in + out a lot during the days. Helena was lovely and friendly - giving me tips and recommendations for what to see in the town and where I could get good veggie food. But she was also very respectful of giving privacy. There are two cats in the house too, but I am an animal lover so was happy to make friends with them 😸 Will no likely be back to explore some more in the future!

    Vee2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Helena's space is a true oasis away from the hustle and bustle of Glastonbury High Street. Beautifully located on a hill with view of the Tor from a nearby sweet parc. Helena is highly knowledgeable of the area and has many a useful advice. Would surely stay again if my path leads me to Avalon once more.

    Simona2019-07-23T00:00:00Z

  • My stay in the Apple House was a very pleasant one! The House is perfect for one or two persons, a confortable bedroom and a nice room for relaxing after a busy day around Somerset or Wiltshire. Very well located as for the sea side than for countryside walks or culture in Bath! Linda and Malcolm are very friendly hosts, very reactive and Billy the dog also is a good boy!

    Martine2019-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • This a real Gem of a place. Everything we needed was in the cottage. Good location and great pub opposite. Linda made us very welcome.

Beaconsfield Farm apartments nestle in a peaceful, rural location on the edge of the village of Easton, only 2 miles from Wells, at the foot of the Mendip Hills and in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Garden Suite 1 boasts views of the Mendip Hills to the North and the Somerset Levels to the South. Perfectly located to enjoy the area's must see locations, stunning architecture and wealth of history, picturesque scenery and stunning walks on the doorstep or within easy reach.
Garden Suite 1 is one of two identical apartments, adjacent to each other, in the grounds of Beaconsfield Farm (non working farm). It makes a perfect base to explore the City of Wells (England's smallest city) with it's moated Bishops Palace, magnificent Cathedral, and historic Market Place - a hub of bars, cafes and restaurants. Glastonbury with it's legend of King Arthur and of course the Tor and Abbey ruins is a short drive away. Cheddar and Cheddar Gorge, and of course sampling some Cheddar Cheese is a must on the itinerary, plus Wookey Hole, Bath, Longleat and Weston Super Mare are only a short drive. There are numerous walks, national trust trails through the woods at Ebbor Gorge, and public footpaths, literally on the doorstep. At the heart of the West Country, Somerset is a destination of dramatic coastline, seaside resorts, epic English countryside, and historic places. Described by the ancient Welsh Celts and the Saxons as the Land of the Summer People, Somerset is a county of captivating contrasts. Its coast takes in long sweeping sandy beaches, seaside resorts, harbours and marinas, and the dramatic Exmoor coastline. Venture inland to an epic countryside of protected landscapes, rolling hills, wild moorlands, ancient woodlands and wetland habitats, dotted with historic towns and villages. At the heart of what makes Somerset tick is its's distinctive culture and history that includes willow and cider making, great local food and drink, the legends of Kings Arthur and Alfred and much more.
  • We had a wonderful time here! From the comfy bed to the stylish wooden decor and thoughtful touches like scones with cream and jam, every part of Carol's place made it easy for us to relax. We used the stove, oven, microwave, and dishwasher, which made cooking and cleaning extra easy and enjoyable. Another plus was that we discovered a slot for DVDs at the back of the TV – so we even got to watch a film we had brought just in case. We did hear whenever the people next door went to have a shower, but this didn't disturb us much. We only stayed for a weekend but ended up doing a nice 3-hour walk just a short drive away, after which we explored the beautiful city of Wells. All in all, we couldn't have asked for more!

  • Enjoyed a fantastic short break in this amazingly relaxing suite, full of great amenities and comfort. A great central location with easy uncongested roads to get out and about to Wells, Chedder, Bath and Bristol. After a long day out this was the perfect accommodation to return to and relax in peace and quiet with everything you could ask for should you want to cook for yourself. Plenty of great country pubs all around serving great value meals. I would definitely return to this 5 star amenity.

My home is a bungalow with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, perched midway up a hill with lovely views across the Somerset Levels and beyond. It is a rural location. Some areas of the property need updating.
This room has a double bed, 2 " bedside cabinets" , 1 double wardrobe and 1 small TV. A desk with office chair.
The views are amazing from the lounge and Dining area. The village has a friendly pub that serves food most nights. If you like walking there are some fab walks just 5 minutes from my door.
  • A wonderful stay. We enjoyed the breakfasts looking out over the breathtaking landscape and enjoyed our discussions about the area. Debbie also has a wealth of knowledge of the area and is most helpful, for example looking up things for us, booking in a table at a pub nearby, etc. We hope to return some time soon.

Ian's Cottage was a simple brick barn that has been lovingly renovated and converted into a beautiful little holiday cottage set in its own garden with breathtaking views across the fields to the Mendip Hills - not a road in sight! It is the perfect retreat for couples and a great place to unwind. Although it is small we believe it has all the comforts that are essential for a relaxing break and the location is rural but only a few minutes walk to the shops and pubs of Wedmore.
Sleeps 2 comfortably. Open plan living/dining room with log burner and electric heating to keep you cosy in the winter months. The first basket of logs and kindling is included, thereafter it can usually be purchased on site. Enjoy catching up your favourite programmes or films on the Smart TV. Well equipped compact kitchen. Bathroom with shower over bath and plenty of fluffy bath towels. Underfloor heating in the kitchen and bathroom. Please note that the doorways in the kitchen and bathroom are slightly lower than normal as it is an old building. Narrow wooden stairs lead to light and airy beamed A frame bedroom with king size sleigh bed with memory foam topper for extra comfort and dressed with crisp cotton bed linen. Dressing gowns and slippers are provided. There are stunning views to the Mendips.
The cottage is on the edge of the Somerset Levels, renowned for it's National Nature Reserves which attract birdwatchers from all over the world. Whether it's the amazing aerial acrobatics of vast murmurations of starlings in the winter months or performances of the musical variety at Glastonbury festival there is something for everyone to enjoy. This is an excellent area for cycling, golf at the local and very friendly club, cider drinking, fishing, clay pigeon shooting, walking and even retail therapy at our local designer outlet shopping - Kilver Court in nearby Shepton Mallet and Clarks village in Street. Ian's Cottage is within a 5 minute walk of the village of Wedmore with a good selection of shops selling local produce and three village pubs all selling good food. • This is truely a gem! Looking for a cosy remote cottage located in the nature and walking distance to a cute village? YOU HAVD FOUND IT!! Fiona’s cottage is located very remotely on their property overseeing the fields and with a small private backyard. The cottage itself is take out of “the holiday” movie. It’s small and cosy and you really feel at home. We wanted to stay for much longer and will definitely be back. We really enjoyed sitting infront of the fireplace with a glass of wine.. George’s inn in the village has great lunch/dinners. We also got fresh fish from the fishmonger one day as cooked at home. Fiona also left great advice for places to visit both in terms of nature and food.

    Kristine2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • If you are reading this review wondering whether to book Ian’s cottage - BOOK! It was above and beyond our expectations. The attention to detail, comfort and coziness was faultless. The fresh bread, eggs, cookies and milk were all so tasty and I loved the fact the produce was from the local village shop. Such a cosy cottage away from the hustle and bustle and so private. We cannot wait to return - best air bnb we have been too!!

Compact two-person apartment in a lovely rural setting with a fabulous view. Very comfortable and well equipped. Off-road parking. Easy access to many famous cultural sites. On two floors, so unsuitable for people who cannot manage stairs.
Entrance: via stable door into Kitchen: Very well equipped. Electric hob and oven. Microwave. Fridge. Washing machine. Stairs to Sitting room: 2-person sofa. Converts to bed which can accommodate 1 small adult or 2 small children. As a bed it takes up most of the sitting room, so only suitable for brief visits, not your whole stay. £10 extra per night, payable direct to owners. Wood-burning stove. Electric heater. TV and DVD player. Wi-Fi. Large south-facing windows and door to Balcony (a real suntrap): Wooden decking, glass sides. Wrought iron table and chairs. Superb views to Glastonbury Tor and even Exmoor on a clear day. In summer, sit here to watch one of the iconic sights of this area – the cows coming up the lane for milking. Bedroom: Kingsize double bed. Bedside tables and lights. 2 large Velux windows with blackout blinds. Ample cupboard space – hanging and shelving. Electric heater. Ensuite bathroom: Bath with shower. Basin with shaver/light. Cupboard under. WC Heated towel rail. Velux with blind. This property was once the stable. It is at the end of the main house (dating back to Tudor times) which is occupied by the owners. It is on the edge of the village, about ½ mile from the main road, a very rural setting. NB: We are next to a working dairy farm, so some noise from machinery etc must be expected.
Coxley is in the centre of Somerset, 20 – 25 miles from Bristol, Bath, Frome, Yeovil, Taunton and Weston-super-Mare, all of which are major tourist or cultural attractions. Being close to the Mendip Hills it is an excellent centre for walking, riding, cycling, golf… Near to us are: Wells (3 miles) – the smallest cathedral city in the country. The Cathedral is considered by many to be the most beautiful of all England’s cathedrals. For a truly unforgettable experience, go to weekday Evensong and hear one of the best choirs in the world in a tradition which is older than the Cathedral itself. Everyone is welcome – you don’t have to be a Christian. Ask us for details. The Bishop’s Palace – fabulous mediaeval buildings and beautiful gardens containing the springs, or ‘wells’, after which the city is named, and which feed the moat surrounding the Palace, where the famous swans are, which ring a bell when they want to be fed. Vicars’ Close – the oldest (c700 years) continuously-occupied street in Europe. Built to house the men of the Cathedral Choir who still live there today. Market on Wednesdays and Saturdays throughout the year – a huge range of locally produced artisan and ‘ordinary’ foods, as well as books, antiques, clothes etc. Glastonbury (4 miles) – famous for: the Tor (perfect view of it from here); the Abbey, a ruin since the time of Henry VIII; and the Festival (most years in June). This is a perfect place to stay for that if you don’t fancy camping and mud! Street (6 miles) – where the famous Clarks Village is – factory outlets of over 90 stores at discount prices. Also nearby: Wookey Hole Caves, Cheddar Gorge, Longleat Safari Park, National Trust properties - Stourhead, Montacute, Dyrham Park, Lytes Cary, Tyntesfield. Very convenient for Millfield and Wells Cathedral Schools.
  • We really enjoyed our weekend staying here, it's a good distance to both Wells and Glastonbury. The place was very clean throughout and felt very homely, especially with the log fire. Thanks again!

    Emma2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location that is perfect for recharging. Jen and Richard were thoughtful, considerate and allowed us to be private whilst we cosied up with their beautiful fire. Looking forward to visiting again. Diolch yn fawr!

  • The Old Stable is the perfect place for a getaway to the countryside, whilst also being close to civilisation. We loved having the fire which made it really cosy in the evenings and great cooking facilities for breakfast and dinner. Wells is close and we also went to Cheddar Gorge. There are a few nearby pubs that do good food and drink. Jenny and Richard were friendly and welcoming, showed us around and made sure we had everything we needed. We forgot some cheese we bought from Cheddar Gorge and they are posting it to us - going above and beyond! Highly recommend, won’t disappoint.

Nestling under the Mendip Hills Wells is a pretty little city, Folly cottage with low ceilings on a quiet one-way street that leads to the moat around the Bishops Palace, opposite a farm but only a stone's throw from the High Street. Wells is 20 miles from the beautiful city of Bath and the same distance from Bristol with its maritime history. In the area are many NT properties and gardens which are open to the public, the caves at Wookey Hole and Cheddar are nearby as is the lake at Blagdon.
The front door leads through a lobby into the living room and through double doors into the long dining/kitchen upstairs on the first floor are my bedroom and the bathroom. On the second floor is the guest room with plenty of wardrobe space and drawer space. Outside is a long sheltered garden which I hope guests will enjoy weather permitting.
In Wells, we have many coffee shops and several fine dining restaurants, also many of the cafe's serve excellent food.
  • Lovely cottage, very comfortable room and kind host. Just be aware of steep, narrow stairs up to the room.

There was a bit of an issue with getting in with our key one night but Lynda was luckily still up and was able to let us in right away. The attic space is really cozy and quiet. The bed is very comfy too! As others have mentioned, the stairs are no joke. The second staircase is near vertical so if you've got alot of luggage it might be a challenge. We just had carry on sized luggage so it was no problem! We had a lovely visit!

    Jennifer2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great location - on a quiet side street but walkable to everywhere in Wells. Clean and comfortable room though up a steep, tight spiral staircase. Lynda is an entirely pleasant and gracious host.

    John2019-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • My first time staying with the Airbnb host is definitely the most memorable and happy experience. Lucky me to have Lynda as my host. She is truly a great host. What she’s done to me is more than I expected. I have so much to learn from Lynda to be a better host. Words cannot express my gratitude. Thank you Lynda for the drive and lift and the rich breakfast. I did enjoy the sharing we had. I will definitely come back if I visit Wells again. Your apartment is my dream house. Highly recommended to all tourists traveling to Wells!

    Clem2019-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • My third stay at Lynda's lovely Cottage in the heart of Wells..as I've come to expect Lynda was her usual helpful and friendly self..and my stay was very comfortable.

    Patrick2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • Folly Cottage is tucked away in picturesque Silver Street, about a ten minute walk from the centre of Wells. You could not find a cosier place. The guest room is in the attic, so take care on the narrow winding stairs. We loved the breakfast of muesli or cereal, yogurt, fruit juice and coffee.

Tiny Grade II Listed Cottage, full of original features and charm. Dating back to the 16th century it was originally three very small, modest stone cottages nestled right in the hustle and bustle of the Gorge's natural beauty. Finch Cottage is directly below the famous Lions Rock, with immediate access to the footpaths to The Cliffs, caves, cafes, pubs and restaurants. Perfect location for walkers, cyclists, climbers, photographers, anyone visiting Cheddar Gorge.. Bristol airport 20 minutes.
Keep in mind that this cottage is modest and the rooms are not huge, it is quirky and homely, rather than large and lavish. But what it lacks in grandeur it makes up for in irregularities and personality. Most people are fine, but if you are particularly big built or tall you may want to consider a different property, This is not a 'Premier Inn', but the use of our home by appreciative guests is welcomed. Sorry to repeat myself here, but surprisingly the odd person complains about things that are clearly explained and mess with host ratings. When you arrive at check-in (4pm onwards unless otherwise discussed) come in either of the wraught iron gates (mind the steps) and ring the cockerell bell loudly! We will be here to welcome you unless we have arranged self check-in via your private entrance.
Many restaurants and cafes are nestled amongst the majestic cliffs of Cheddar Gorge. And of course there are caves to visit, the Cheddar Cheese to eat, and the local Cider and Strawberries to enjoy too after a walk along the Cliff tops or around the local artisan shops. Cheddar Reservoir or the neighbouring Medieval Village Axbridge, to name just one.
  • Sonia was very welcoming and the room very comfortable and cosy! A fab place to stay.

    Tom2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Sonia's place is right in the heart of the Gorge, I would highly recommend this place for its location. The room was small (as expected) however accommodated the two of us well. Sonia is ever so welcoming and went out her way to speak with us which was a lovely touch

    Olivia2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Sonia's place was right in the center of things in Cheddar gorge. It was also clean, warm, and full of character. The bed was comfortable and Sonia was a very accommodating hostess. We would stay here again.

    Gregory2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • Sonia was a great host, her cottage couldn't be in a better location. The room was cosy, warm and full of character, it was a great experience to stay there. Thank you Sonia!

    Edyta2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • A charming and cosy stay, in an idyllic location, perfectly placed for exploring! Sonia was a wonderful host, who couldn’t have made us feel more welcome, and really made us feel at home. We absolutely loved our stay and would 100% come again!

    Sara2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Sonia was really friendly and the place had everything we needed. The location was exceptional as it is as close to Cheddar Gorge as you can get. Due to it being November it felt like we had most of the area/attractions to ourselves, which was great. Make sure if you want to go climbing or visit the caves, etc., book in advance as it makes it cheaper.

A rural converted Shepherd's barn deep in to the Somerset countryside in a remote location in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with fabulous views of the Somerset Levels and Glastonbury Tor.
The barn offers comfortable rustic off grid accommodation for 2 people and has plenty of things that make it a special place: wood-burning stove, amazing views, real bed with fresh bedding, seclusion, candle-lit evenings and plenty of countryside space to explore, play or relax in. The barn has a toilet, sink, shower room and basic kitchen facilities (double gas ring, sink, cooking and eating utensils). 2 extra guests or children can be accommodated sleeping on the sofa bed or a travel cot is available. Extra £10 ppn. Camping is also available in conjunction with booking the barn for extra guests, at a cost of £10 per person per night. We have a large 5m diameter Bell tent available for hire at £35 per night. Please contact for more information.
The Cathedral City of Wells, Glastonbury and Cheddar Gorge are all a short drive from the barn. On Saturday and Wednesday Wells has an excellent market with lots of local produce on offer. The Westbury Inn and Queen Victoria pub in Priddy are in walking distance of the barn.
  • This barn needs to be published in a magazine it is that lovely! The photos do not do it justice. The views were just amazing, the location is stunning and it was just so nice to be off grid and away in such a beautiful cosy and rustic barn! Communication from Mark and Bridget was great! Mark greeted us at 8 o'clock at night and was very friendly. Gave great tips on where to go and explained how to use everything and there were plenty of amenities. We stayed in March and made use of the wood burner and nights in, lovely touches left for us and the bed was very comfy. Would highly recommend 5* rating from us! Carly2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect location, away from it all. The barn gives you the chance to really go "offline" and spend quality time in the outdoors, cooking, playing board games or just getting cosy by the fire. The only noise you hear is the odd moo or bleat from your nearby neighbours, and the view is breathtakingly unobstructed. Civilisation is only a few minutes away by car, but also easily accessible by foot (take walking boots/wellies!). We stayed in mid-December, but it wasn't as cold as expected, so long as you kept the fire going and wore slippers (the thermals were not needed). A very comfortable bed and a well equipped kitchen. When you're doing a food shop, just bear in mind that there is no oven nor fridge, but there is a gas hob with 2 rings and a big cooler box - both worked perfectly well for our needs. Try to be energy conscious - no charging of phones etc overnight, as you could run the (solar powered) battery down. But there is a back-up generator so you're never left without power/hot water. Mark and Bridget are very friendly and accommodating hosts, we will be highly recommending you - thank you for a brilliant stay!

  • Gorgeous cosy barn in the heart of the Mendips, perfect for curling up on the sofa on dark winters nights.

    Sophie2019-12-12T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely wonderful place!! We loved every moment here and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to get away from it all. We're already planning a trip back. Amazing hosts and an amazing place. What more could you want!!

  • This barn is the perfect way to get away from it all. Put your phones aside and enjoy being off grid for a while. Amazing host met us at nearly 8 o’clock at night and even had the fire already roaring in preparation for a winter weekend stay.

  • We were met by our very friendly hosts and they showed us all through the accommodation and explained everything. It was a great welcome. The fittings and decoration were superb and we wanted for nothing. The location suited us as it was yards from Waitrose and a 5 to 10 minute walk to the centre of town with the attractions of the cathedral, bishop's palace and museum. We also enjoyed a small family run three screen cinema. The market was also excellent, with an attending town crier.

    Margrit2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • We were so pleased that we chose Louise’s accommodation in Bath. The location could not be better and the annexe is warm and quiet. The quality of the fixtures and fittings is both high and stylish. Louise has been very thoughtful in making sure that guests have everything they might need on arrival available in the facility. We were extremely happy with our weekend away in Wells.

We are offering a cosy room in our lovely house in Glastonbury. We are a 20min walk from Glastonbury High Street, 30min walk from Chalice Wells and 40min walk from the top of the Glastonbury Tor. Also, the historic city of Wells with its magnificent cathedral and Clarks Village, an outlet shopping centre, in Street are just under 10min drive away from us. The house has huge parking in front of it so we can easily host guests who come in multiple cars.
The room is perfect for two people, however, it can fit another one or two people on the mattress on the floor, but then it might feel a bit crowded. We would provide a roll-up futon-type mattress, which could be rolled up during the day to have more space in the room.
  • Pearl and her partner are a lovely couple. There home is clean, comfortable an.d has a calm atmosphere and peaceful , which I loved. Use of their kitchen was great if you want to cook your own meals. The room was cosy and spacious, the bed was really comfy, had a great couple of nights sleep. The town is a easily reached on foot about a 10 to 15 minute walk.

  • I loved my time here. These are two of the most gracious, calm people I've met. Very helpful and friendly though never intrusive as they too are quiet people. Their home is super clean and has a minimal look I loved though very well equipped with all you need in the kitchen and room for a perfect stay. I was on a course and loved the walk into town in the morning and evening. I look forward to going back here again. Thank You both!!!!!!

A newly renovated space providing comfortable and modern accommodation. Come and enjoy Littlemead at Chapel Farm and enjoy our space, explore the surrounding RSPB nature reserves, Wells, Glastonbury and you must sample some local Scrumpy! A great little haven from which to explore Somerset.
Enjoy a little of rural Somerset life. Stay in an old barn newly renovated! Ask to see the photo album - it really was tough creating this space... Sample apples fresh from the orchard and take a stroll down the paddock to the River Brue where plenty of wildlife and waterfowl can be seen. Collect your own fresh eggs from our feathered friends.
Enjoy the peace and quiet of being in a rural Somerset village where the gardens and paddock lead to the Somerset Levels and panoramic views of the Mendip hills.
  • Absolutely perfect. I highly suggest staying here! The space was ideal, the hosts were delightful, and the land and evening walk was just what I needed. Fully self-contained but the hosts were nearby for anything needed. Beautiful stay. Thanks and will return!

  • Good, friendly host. Very clean and comfortable accommodation. Excellent directions with pictures makes it easy to find this lovely hideaway. Perfectly placed for access to RSPB and other reserves. We were rewarded with great sightings of the 1/2 million starling murmurations and 20 of the rare cranes. We will be back!

    Stephen2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • This was a real gem to find for us. Perfect for all the RSPB and nature reserves we wanted to see and everything we needed. The extra touches of bread, milk etc were really appreciated. The freshly laid eggs were delicious.

    Emma2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Wish we were there for more than one night! Lovely place to stay.

    Maisie2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • We can’t recommend Littlemead highly enough. Our only regret is that we had booked this for a one night stopover to break our (otherwise) tedious journey home. We were very tired and it was lovely to be in such a beautiful and peaceful location with everything that we needed to be exceptionally comfortable. We loved the eggs too. When we are next in the area we will be checking availability of Littlemead first as this will definitely be our preference! Thank you Martin & Sarah for such a lovely, clean and well appointed stay.

Dogs Welcome Ex park home refurbished available exclusively for holiday makers visiting Glastonbury and surrounding areas. Situated in the grounds of our country cottage on the very green and quiet outskirts of the famous and very spiritual town. Gorgeous nature reserves very close by, Natural England sites, public footpaths and cycle routes all close by. The town centre, Glastonbury Abbey & Glastonbury Tor are within a 35-55 minute walk or a very short drive. Suitable for all & lovely views.
We wanted to provide a very economic space for holiday makers to use and enjoy to enable you to enjoy the experiances that Glastonbury and the surrounding areas have to offer for less. The accommodation itself has a fully equipped and working kitchen, gas fired central heating, large open space dining room and living room with L shaped sofa, TV and dining table. Bathroom is fully working with toilet, basin, built in shower with enclosure and tray. Master bedroom contains King size bed with plenty of blankets, pillows and bedding. Spare bedroom 1 contains large wardrobe with full body length mirror suitable for unpacking and hanging clothes. 3rd bedroom ideal for storage. Large outside space perfect for dogs who will thoroughly enjoy the green fields, stunning nature reserves and public footpaths that are to offer around the property. Ample space for parking with a secure garden and electric gate. We are the only property for at least 0.5 miles and although located on a fairly busy country lane, the accommodation and grounds is very quiet. This is definitely a place to stay for some quiet, peaceful time away. Having the ability to drive or a keen cyclist/walker is necessary due to the remote location just outside of Glastonbury. Plenty of taxis operate in the area too.
We are surrounded by nature and in the heart of the Countryside. There are plenty of fields, nature reserves and foot paths that can be enjoyed with stunning views.
  • Very comfortable and good value. The caravan is well laid out with plenty of space to relax in the living room and prepare meals in the kitchen. Kate and her husband were very helpful and quick to respond. Would definitely stay again. A good location for Glastonbury and Street.

  • The mobile home was just great, cosy, warm and well-equipped for two. The heating is by a boiler in the home, so manageable by the guest. It was clean, comfy and enough space, not cramped at all. Bed very comfy though I hardly slept a wink as we had yet another storm, very windy! Great view of Glastonbury Tor across countryside, only few miles off.
