Fab stay and break from reality. The breakfast and the views were better than expected and we would not hesitate to come back and recommend highly.

I booked this little stay as a present for my husband's birthday and it didn't disappoint! We had such a relaxing time away. Mark and Suzanne's little touches were great, they have really thought of everything. The breakfast hamper delivered in the morning was a lovely treat for 2 working parents. We've already booked for Easter but will be bringing our toddler. Great stay!

A great stay in the heart of Yorkshire! If you want to spend a night lost in the middle of Yorkshire’s countryside this is the right place! Mark built the cabins by himself and they look lovely, cosy and warm. Breakfast is delicious and I am sure you will have a great time if you decide to visit. We first stayed here in 2017 and we loved our stay. Our kids remembered coming here and wanted to stay again. We’ve just returned from a wonderful nights stay. It’s a fab space with an amazing view that is so peaceful. The area is perfect for exploring but far enough away for some peace and quiet!

Peaceful stay with amazing views to wake to . In the morning you just hear the birds and the sheep! Only 5 min walk to 2 pubs . Very nice host nothing too much trouble . We would recommend

What a fantastic use of space in a superb location. Our hosts were so welcoming to the family and, although we only stayed for one night, we know the children will remember it far more vividly than a faceless corporate hotel. Would recommend the cow shed to anyone looking for a unique stay.

This is a very cozy ´cow shed in a quiet place. It has a nice terrace where you can sit, staring at the sheep and beautiful view while listening to old time music cassettes. We loved it.

We can totally recommend staying at The Cow Shed. The owners have built and maintained the space themselves and you can tell it is a real labour of love. The views from the decking area of the rolling fields are spectacular. It is the perfect place to relax and get away from the pressures of modern life and get "off the grid". There are some lovely touches such as the saddle bar stools and the mannequins. There are some great CDs available to play and also cassette tapes if you feel particularly nostalgic. We had never stayed at a place with cummunual showers before, but this wasn't an issue as the facilities are clean, spacious and warm. We will definitely go back. The hosts are welcoming and friendly. Also, Scalby village has a number of great amenities which are a short walk away.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Shrove Cottage! Judith was able to have the cottage ready for us an hour early which was really handy! The cottage is perfect for 2 people, cosy and comfortable. Milk, orange juice, and bread was left for us which was very nice! The cottage was only a 20/25 minute walk to the beach which was a nice easy walk and we had no problems parking outside the property. Would definitely recommend this place and will probably come back in the future!

The pictures do not do Shrove cottage justice! This place was the perfect little getaway cottage. The hosts have done so well at making the most of the space and have decorated the cottage beautifully. I will definitely be back as soon as I can!

This was our first time booking through Air bnb and I think this will be the yardstick we measure all future bookings with. From the start, Judiths communication was excellent as was the property information we were given in advance. On arrival to this stunning cottage, we were met with such thoughtful little touches such as bread and milk, robes to wear, candles for the outdoor area and many more that it instantly felt like a wonderful and cosy place to be. It’s the perfect size for a couple, has everything you need and is located in a nice area that’s not too near the bustle of the sea front. I fell in love with it instantly and we would love to return one day. It’s cosy, clean and has everything you need for an enjoyable stay. Thank you Judith for making our stay so memorable.

The accommodation is tastefully designer and provides a beautiful backdrop to a peaceful stay. The thoughtful touches left by Mark and Suzanne really enhanced the amazing stay. Breakfast was truly wonderful and had something to suit everyone!! I can’t recommend this place highly enough!!

A beautiful shepherd hut in a lovely setting. So cosy and warm, even on a cold winter’s evening. Everything you could want and need for a relaxing break including breakfast delivered to your door in the morning!

You can expect a ‘true’ countryside experience in this place. We really had a good time enjoying the stunningly beautiful scenery around the accommodation (field and the farm). A place is a bit far remote so be mentally prepared to drive up the hill but not really too challenging in my opinion. Should be there before dark as roads could be tricky. Also ensure you take care your dinner before getting there - just an advice!

An excellent flat which was excellent for our stay.

Perfect location in the town centre so easy to walk to the beach, town during the day and night. Given its proximity I wondered if it would be noisy at night but no noise from street at all. Flat was spotlessly clean, all the amenities of home. Permit for parking was provided, took us a little while to find a space on arrival but after that no issues. We are regular visitors to Scarborough and will definitely seek to stay at Lynn's flat again, perfect!

Lynn's flat is in an excellent location, right in the heart of Scarborough so within walking distance of the shops, seaside, Peasholm Park, etc. It meant we could leave the car parked up all weekend, although unfortunately we were unable to use the parking permits Lynn had kindly provided for us as we couldn't make sense of where to park! The flat is clearly Lynn's home, as there are personal items, clothes, shoes, food and even toiletries throughout, but, whilst this is not something we have experienced in other Airbnb accommodation, it did not detract from the stay or feel uncomfortable. Lynn is an lovely host with excellent communication before and during our stay. Many thanks Lynn.

We had a lovely weekend here in beautiful surroundings. Whitby, Scarborough and Robin Hood's Bay are all within easy driving distance and there are plenty of suggestions at the cottage for local walks. The cottage was extremely clean and comfortable and we really appreciated the tea/coffee/milk and homemade cake!

We had a lovely time. Was really pleased there was an enclosed patio area to let Bella in. Everything was lovely and clean and there was everything we needed.

Great and timely communication from Jacqui including succinct instructions on how to find the cottage. We were met on arrival by Jacqui who showed us around the property and gave us some tips on local restaurants and attractions to visit. The property is rural but close enough to visit Scarborough and Whitby. We were visited most mornings by pheasants, woodpeckers and other birds which were feeding on the food left out for them. The property itself is cosy but was big enough for 2 adults and our dog. It was spotless upon arrival and had everything we needed. A lovely touch was the delicious homemade lemon drizzle cake baked by Jacqui presented to us on our arrival. This is a great base to explore the local area or if you wanted, you could easily stay at the property and enjoy the tranquility & superb views. Both Jacqui and her husband David were very welcoming and great hosts. We had a lovely few days at this property and would highly recommend this property if you fancied a break in Yorkshire. Lovely weekend away in a quiet remote location. Just what we needed! We were able to visit many places from here and it was located well for this. Personally I loved being surrounded by horses because it's what feels right for me . My husband liked the sound of the birds and there were plenty around. The cottage was compact and cosy and had everything we needed. We were made to feel very welcome.

This is a lovely cottage with amazing views all round. Everything was clean, comfortable and welcoming - there was even a homemade cake ready in the kitchen! I highly recommend this as a brilliant place to stay.

Great location generating a strong feeling or remoteness yet only a ten minute drive from services and beaches - you can see the sea from the front patio. We loved being amidst the horses in the next door paddocks, and the birds feeding a few yards from our door. The cottage is small but ideal for two people - and we had a puppy with us. We only met Jacqui but she was very friendly, and helped us as we required. She also rescued the puppy when he went AWOL with the horses.

Stayed at woodpeckers cottage February 2020. Had an amazing stay with my boyfriend and our 10 month old puppy. Super clean and warm (good for the time of year) Every morning there was plenty of birds to see at the feeder and we even saw the woodpecker himself!! I would 100% stay here again, jacqui was perfect with communication and was there if we needed any help.

Great location in a small village and in easy driving distance of many places. It was warm and clean.

Beautiful barn conversion for a quiet getaway with lovely walks and very close to the coast. Bob was kind enough to prepare the area early for an earlier check in for us due to previous guests leaving early. Lots of lovely touches added such as maps for a walk along the coast and to Hayburne Wyke pub, little chocolates and board games (Scrabble and jigsaws).

The space was lovely, well thought-out and bigger than expected. The location was absolutely perfect and just the right combination of remote but also close to pubs and shops. I recommend the Blacksmiths Arms in Cloughton itself and alongside the walk to Hyburn Wyke, there is a great walk a half hour drive away at Saltergate too.

Hosts are helpful, friendly and lovely - without being intrusive. Perfect mix - they even helped us in with our luggage. The accommodation is exactly as described, and comfortable. We stayed over Christmas and they even put a Christmas tree up for us, and lights. Delightful!

A lovely flat, very cosy and pretty.

The Barn was such a great place to stay for a nice, quiet getaway. The loft itself was ideal, just the right amount of space, and it had everything we needed. The space was snug and homely, we didn’t want to leave! The location was also ideal, being only a few minutes away from the Cleveland Way, and an easy drive to Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay and Staithes. We would definitely like to come back, potentially next summer! We would recommend this place to anyone either on their own or a couple for a nice break.

Nigel is a great host and his cottage is lovely. Quick replies, cosy cottage, spotlessly clean with lots of towels, and a good location for Scarborough. Scarborough is only a 20 - 30 minute drive. The off road parking at the cottage is very useful. For food or drinks I'd recommend going to the Coachman Inn (10 minute walk) rather than the nearer place. It's in a different world for ambience, comfort and service. The food is stunning and excellent value for the quality and quantity. Also the nearer place no longer does food anyway, despite the sign saying different. We'd love to stay at Nigel's again sometime.

A stunning little cottage, with separate kitchen and living room. Lovely decor throughout loved the wooden beams on the ceiling in the bedroom. Easy check in and out system. Parking just outside the cottage so on a rainy afternoon it’s not far to run in with our bags. Would definitely stay here again.

A beautiful and clean cottage, plenty of space, with the added luxury of a pool! Also gorgeous gardens.

We found that Pear cottage was a charming little one night weekend escape. The hosts were fantastic and very helpful, very quick in responding to any questions we had. Upon arrival we were given a tour of the swimming pool and cottage. (which sadly we couldn’t use as had very limited time) The location of the property is great, close to where we wanted to be. We spent the day at flamingo land which was just a twenty minute drive. We booked in for an evening meal at The Grapes inn. It was a very short walk away from the cottage. My partner and I had the most wonderful meal. (one of the best meals we have ever eaten in a pub!) The following morning check out was easy and simple. We found a charming little village called Thornton le dale is on the doorstep. We visited here for breakfast, all the locals were so friendly and helpful. We then went on to visit Dalby forest, again just a short drive away. Would recommend this highly to anybody who wants a lovely little country break away.

Me and my friend went to stay over for a concert, from the moment we checked in and to the moment we checked out it was fantastic. We had our own space to chill out, used the swimming pool and relaxed. Didn't feel like we were having to be extra carful or felt like we were walking on egg shells. Was super relaxed and had an amazing time. Would definitly recomened it to others for a relaxing weekend away. Most of all we got our own space and met our standareds.

This was our first experience with glamping and we loved it! The High Oaks pod was lovely and clean, and very well equipped, with some nice little touches like a pint of milk and teabags, toiletries and washing up liquid. Staff were friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again, either in a pod or one of the larger accomodations, which seemed lovely. We had a lovely relaxing short break.

Our stay here was very pleasant, the owners welcomed us very well, with little touches, the cottage was very clean, comfortable and with lots of amenities, the cottage is well located near the coast, quiet, in the countryside. ? we highly recommend this lodging, besides we keep the address to come back very soon.

The flat is really well laid out with a practical kitchen and a cosy sitting/dining room. It is great to have a private parking space just in front. The location is ideal with a supermarket round the corner and Malton town centre only a short walk away. Beverley made us feel welcome and was on hand if needed.

We’ve just enjoyed a three night stay at Emma’s place, it was spotlessly clean and within walking distance of the beach and town centre. Thank you for the little treats you left for us they were much appreciated. Hopefully we’ll be back one day.

Emma made sure we had a fantastic break in Scarborough. We were allowed to check in later due to delay with travel and were welcomed with the most glorious welcome basket containing lots of treats and even for my dog. The space is so clean and peaceful and it really is an ‘escape’. Emma is there on hand if you need anything otherwise she leaves you to enjoy your time away and there’s lots to enjoy both inside the Escape and out and about in Scarborough. Lots of options to cook in with microwave and stove. For watching tv there’s full Sky which is a real bonus and the place leaves a lasting, happy impression for both humans and pets alike. Look forward to returning

Emma' s place is beautifully decorated, clean and a short walk away from the beach. My children and I had a wonderful time exploring the town, and even more fun indoors playing the board games Emma has left for guests. Would definitely recommend Emma's place.

James and Janine were the perfect hosts. We arrived late and soaking through from a long day's walking but they quickly made us feel at home. We missed the fish and chip shop which closed at 7pm but they helped us find local a takeaway which was exactly what we needed! The private room was spotless, comfortable and spacious as indeed was the living space. Thank you James, Janine and Carlos for hosting us.

Julia’s place was fantastic space well thought out. As close as you can get to the amenities yet set in a quiet crescent. The flat is bright and well maintained.

We had a lovely weekend stay in Scarborough in Julia's apartment. The location was perfect, 30 seconds and you're into town and not far at all from the sea front. The apartment was very spacious and clean, with very comfy bed. The only issue was parking at times can be difficult, but this wouldn't put us off staying again. Would 100% recommend. Thanks Julia

A truly magical place. Super clean, fabulous hosts, very relaxing, in the middle of nowhere, so great for star gazing. Quiet and peaceful place. With great feeling of being off grid with candlelight and fresh spring water. Plus the best welcome pack I have ever had.

The wagons are very unique and cozy inside, everything is well kept and the surrounding area is beautiful for walks out in the countryside.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The wagon has spectacular views over the valley and is situated in a quiet location with lots of pleasant walks nearby. The interior was very well thought out and the quirky decor brought a lovely homely feel. Bruce was an amazing host and made us feel very welcome. We loved it so much we are already planning a return in summer! Definitely would recommend.

Such a different and unique place to stay. Very cosy and very warm in the winter with the gas fire inside. Space for a campfire outside which was lovely to sit under the stars. Wagons are quite spacious inside and have everything you need. A lovely surprise to have eggs and bacon and bread left for breakfast! Thank you!

I had high expectations of the Shepard’s hut from reading reviews from previous guests and I was not disappointed. The shepherds hut was very clean and easy to find, the hut is in a perfect location to get to nearby beaches and the moors and has a lovely pub around the corner. Pauline was very helpful during our stay when we needed some help getting the hot tub up to temperature. Would definitely like to return at some point in the future :)

A lovely little cabin, with a beautiful view to fields and greenery along with stars at night and sunrises at day. The hot tub takes a while to heat up, but once its at the right temperature its very relaxing.

Jim’s place is welcoming and the room is cosy. The is parking outside the house and it’s a lovely quiet area. Comfy bed and thoughtful touches (kettle in room so you can have a cuppa along with cutlery and glasses for your own food. ) the bathroom is next door and there was ample hot water. Simple accommodation that ticks the boxes.

Really good location if visiting Scarborough - far enough out of the town to feel in the north yorkshire countryside but still only a few minutes drive or a decent walk along the coastal path away. Jim is a very good host. He has a few simple house rules, keeps the whole process easy, and is very accomodating.

A warm, clean and charming place to stay in a beautiful, quiet but well connected spot! Well placed for walking and cycling or just enjoying amazing views, beaches and seaside towns and villages. Jim is a great host and is happy to share his good knowledge of the local area as well as a local map. I will hopefully return for another stay in the not too distant future.

Jim made us feel very welcome and the place was perfect for our needs. Lovely, peaceful location. Bedroom warm and comfortable with bathroom adjoining. Self-serve breakfasts were good and warm croissants were a nice touch.

Coastguards Lodge was a warm and comfortable place to stay, ideal for the Cleveland Way and other places to visit north of Scarborough. Jim, the host, was kind, helpful and easy going, which made the stay relaxing. The breakfast was very good: cereals, toast, tea and 'proper' coffee, an excellent way to start the day for the walk my son and I did along the Cleveland Way.

Jim is an excellent host and welcoming. The room is big with great views to open countryside. The double bed is better than my own at home and very comfy. Close enough to Scarborough for trips in and for decent walks along the coast. Although my stay was for a brief trip to a local business I would happily stay again for a short stay.

Spacious room/bed in a decent location for a reasonable price. I will certainly stay there again.

I was working at Severfield and the accommodation was ideal for me. The room I stayed in, was large, TV was good, en suite great, internet was very slow in the room. If you book for over a week it's £18/night you won't find better value for money.

A gem of a find - super quiet location, very comfortable house, excellent value for money and we’d highly recommend it.

Frances has a delightful room available in a quaint semi-detached country cottage. For us, as we only had a single night en-route down from Edinburgh; it was a delightful. Easily found via her extra directions; of extra delight was an evening in the lounge with a small open fire-place going. Glass of wine/beer while we ate our evening meal [all brought with us, it's not included! That would make it even more amazing value!]. A good nights sleep upstairs in a clean, fresh room with a comfortable bed; followed by a self-serve breakfast eaten overlooking rolling fields. We had to self-checkin; and also left early so did not have the pleasure of actually meeting Frances; but all communication was professional, friendly and helpful. I recommend her place to any couple looking for great value in the area. Of course, being slightly remote; you will need transport....

France's house was great for our needs. Lovely quiet location but only a few miles from Scarborough. We utilised the sitting room and breakfast facilities. Check in was very flexible and we hope to stay again at some future time.

Nothing you could say that was negative about this lovely cottage in a beautiful setting. Great value, the bed was really comfortable and the place was really clean. Frances was very helpful and kind. Highly recommended.

Ideal location 10mins drive from Scarborough. Fantastic value for money, extremely comfy bed and spacious surroundings with lovely countryside views. Frances is very welcoming and laid back. Light breakfast left for us to help ourselves to in the morning was a generous extra touch.

The apartment is spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The staircase leading to and from the front door is very steep and would probably best suit people more agile on their feet. It's right in the town centre 15mins walk to to beach.

Hannah is a fabulous host - I didn’t meet her in person but she is very responsive to messages and her place is just brilliant. It’s a lovely central apartment but set back from the main street so that noise isn’t an issue. The self check-in was really easy and the space itself is just lovely - my particular favourite spot was sitting at the breakfast-bar style window and watching the sunrise over the sea with a coffee. It’s well-equipped with everything that you could possibly need, and there’s a handy A4 ring binder with local information and also the manuals for every single electrical item/appliance in the apartment so that there’s nothing you could possible struggle with. There are also really thoughtful little touches - a pint of milk in the fridge and a welcome pack of goodies. I will definitely stay again on future visits - thank you

What a cute attic style flat. Reminiscent of an artists refuge of old but with all the mod cons. Everything works and the position in Scarborough is so handy to all the shops and the ocean. Highly recommend for a romantic hide away.

It was a fantastic place with lovely views . It was clean and well equipped. It was handy for all shops and the sea. We had a great time and would definitely recommend it to others .

My stay at Hannah's was a delightful experience. I had to stay over for work, and to be able to return to a clean and homey flat at the end of the day made my week a lot more enjoyable. The flat was spacious with lovely furnishing, and our host was kind enough to provide us with some drinks and chocolate at our arrival. Overall, had a very positive and hassle-free experience and would love to return if work brought me to Scarborough again.

Dear Travellers, I must say the host are too good and their hospitality is great.. House is neat and clean.. Trust me you guys will have a wonderful stay at this place. Plus point is its near to North Beach and if you are a dog lover then you will get a friendly welcome from the pet inside the house.

Perfect location for exploring the North York Moors and coast. The room was very clean with a super comfy double bed. Tea/coffee and a kettle in the bedroom too with bottled water which was a nice touch. Very close to the town centre and beaches too, just a short drive. Would definitely stay here again.

Me and my boyfriend booked to stay here for the weekend and i am so glad we did. This cosy barn conversion is even nicer than the pictures! We decided to stay in for the weekend as it had everything we needed - the log fire, under floor heating and the bubble bath in the room were definitely my favourite things about the trip, not to mention all of the small but effective touches such as DVDs, games, tea, coffee and a small carton of eggs from the owners. We didn’t want the weekend to end and will definitely be back in the future ! Thanks so much for having us x

An amazing stay

Overall we had an amazing time staying in Lisa's barn. The place was immaculate and so cosy with the underfloor heating and log burner. Couldn't recommend enough!

Lovely property in pretty village Great for exploring the North Yotkshire coast area.

We stayed for four nights over Christmas in this cosy and stylish barn. Lisa had even gone to the trouble of decorating it for Christmas, so we soon felt at home. It's in a great location for the beaches and walks set in a peaceful & pretty hamlet plus all the locals were so friendly and welcoming, we were sad to leave! We would 100% book again.

Stayed here with our doggo for a few nights and it was a bit magical. It snowed out first night, log burner, bubble bath and Christmas decorations in such a fabulous little cottage decorated in wonderful decor. Clean and tidy with everything you need. Great walks and pubs around. Got ourselves some fresh eggs from behind the bus stop! Lisa’s communication was great throught.

I had wonderful two week stay at the Caspians Boutique Guesthouse, I loved the decor and Cait was a great host. The place is right across the street from the rail station as well as only a few min walk to the beach, definitely recommend.

This is such a beautiful room - really thoughtfully decorated and we had a lovely time staying here. The location and price also can't be beaten - terrific value for money! We particularly enjoyed the bathroom too - having such a lovely bath to use was the best way to end a long day of walking. Cait was also really friendly and accommodating - will definitely stay here again when we're next in Scarborough!

I would definitely stay here again when I’m next in Scarborough. The bed was the most comfortable bed we’ve ever slept on, the bath was incredibly relaxing, and the check-in information and communication was great!

Jackie’s caravan is fantastic. Spacious clean and placed really well for the bus into Scarborough and the beach just next to the campsite. I would totally recommend this to anybody. Great value. Fantastic caravan.

The hut was just as described, quaint and cosy with all amenities that you needed. John was a pleasure to deal with, showing us how the fire and hot work whilst advising on the local eateries.

Very nice little stay. John was very welcoming and helped us get set up just fine. The fire was really warm and kept the whole place toasty, though maintaining the right temperature was a little bit tricky (probably says more about our fire starting). He was a bit slow with texts so best to give him a bell if anything goes wrong. On the whole good value and well worth the visit.

This place is amazing for the price! It’s so relaxing and in such a nice place. Everything you expect from it is what you get. The hot tub was nice and clean and had a gazebo to protect us from the rain, was a bit windy which kept blowing the gazebo over but can’t be helped! The hut was so warm with the fire which was lit for when we got there and the pub at the end of the garden is lovely. Good price for amazing home cooked food! Only down point was that I wish we could stay for longer!! Definitely booking again some time soon, was a relaxing break that we needed!

I can really recommend staying here. It's warm and comfortable, very clean, has a lot of character and was in a handy location for town. Parking was easy too. I didn't meet Louize but all communication was quick and easy. I'd definitely use it again.

We were delighted with our stay. The property is in an excellent location, close to the station, beach and town centre so has plenty of amenities close by. The apartment was warm, clean and had everything we needed for our three day stay, including plenty of things to make self-catering easy. Louize was excellent to deal with, she gave us plenty of space but was on hand if we needed something. We would happily stay here again.

Louise's place is amazing, it's a lovely self contained apartment with excellent kitchen facilities, a great bathroom, and the living area is fantastic...ample parking close by on the street and a parking disc is supplied. Nice little touches such as tea, coffee, milk and some biscuits left as a lift welcome too. Louize and Mike are on hand should you need anything...other than that, they respect your privacy and you wont see them.

What a find - after deciding on an impromptu visit to the coast we came across Louize and Marks place and couldn’t be happier with what we found.... Great communication throughout and a real friendly welcome as they explained how to get the most out of our visit and showed us round The apartment itself was immaculate and really cosy - we cooked while we were there and the facilities were great...... the huge bed now means we are going home to look at getting something similar as we had the best nights sleep we have had in a long time !! Just a 5/10 minute walk to the beach and to the town centre it couldn’t be better positioned and we used it as a base for our walk along the Cleveland Way as well as for sampling at a few local real ale establishments We shall certainly be looking to return - thanks again

A very clean and well thought out location. 5 beds in 3 rooms which allowed for lots of space and a really great family sized cottage. Yes, there was a lack of phone access but this was explained well in advance and it was actually nice to escape the constant social media checking. Book here for a great place away from it all.

We had a fantastic stay at Beech Cottage. It's ideally located to explore York and Whitby - so nice to come back somewhere so comfortable and putting on the log burner after a day out was such a treat! Great swimming pool also.

House was lovely and clean, managed to get the open wood fire going which was great! Jo was very helpful too.

Fab cottage, our daughter particularly enjoyed the pool! We had a brilliant stay, close to the seaside, and cosy nights by the fire! Definitely recommend!

We stayed overnight in Beech Cottage to extend our trip to the coast. It was easy to find, spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The pool was a real bonus and our kids loved it! We also liked that we could have a real fire.
