Sierraville is a gorgeous, sleepy town at the entrance of the Sierra Valley, the largest Alpine Valley in North America. From Sierraville, you are a 30-minute drive to some of Northern California's most beautiful mountain destinations: Lakes Basin Recreation Area, The Sierra Buttes, The Yuba River, Downieville and great mountain biking, Donner Lake/Truckee, Lake Tahoe and surrounding towns.
  • Beautiful space, thoughtfully put together in an idyllic setting. The views are spectacular in all directions, the air is clean and the accommodations enhance a relaxing experience.

  • Fabulous, well thought out place, super sunny and warm. Great for soaking at the hot springs and birding in the valley, with Sandhill Cranes and Golden Eagles! Will return!

  • I highly recommend Brendan's and Megan's place It is a beautiful unit with an old-world rustic charm. They place was impeccably clean, and had all the important amenities. They were also very clear with their communication and made check-in and check-out very easy.

  • Great place. Worked Out perfect for a 2 night stay with the fam.

    Chris2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • So perfect! 30 minutes from the bustlin' town of Truckee! And just up the street from the Sierra Hot Springs!

    Kiana2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Pet-friendly right next to Sierra Hot Springs!? What a gem! It was the perfect location for taking trips up Hwy 49 and exploring the surrounding forest roads by day, and then soaking in the hot springs by night. Brendan was an ideal host--very responsive, amenable to my special requests, and full of helpful local info. Highly recommended!!

  • Clean, amazing location, great price and awesome owners. Would recommend.

    Cole2020-01-22T00:00:00Z

Canyon Ranch is situated in the town of Sierraville and has been hosting travelers and backcountry enthusiasts since the 1950s. It was taken over by our family in fall 2019 and we've been lovingly bringing it to life ever since. We believe connecting with nature should not have to mean roughing it and our modern cabins are a dreamy place to switch off and gather with friends and family. The property is perfectly situated to enjoy the boundless outdoor activities the area boasts, from fly fishing, bird watching, gold panning, mountain biking and hiking in the summer to back country skiing and boarding, cross country skiing and snowmobiling in the winter - you can do it all. Just a short drive away is the historical town of Truckee, offering countless bars, restaurants, supermarkets and boutiques. We are blessed to have countless stunning alpine lakes on our doorstep, including the pride of the Sierras, Lake Tahoe. And for those who want to just sit and be, our own property with its creek and forest on six acres provides what we think is a pretty magical base. Sundowns are spectacular and when the day turns to night, look up and watch the sky explode with stars.
  • Georgie and Sebastian's place is the perfect getaway to completely unplug. A beautiful location, helpful hosts, and so nice that they allow dogs for a fee. My dog had a great time playing with the dogs on the property. Proximity to the hot springs is particularly nice!

    Grace2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Georgie and Sebastian have an awesome ranch. STAY HERE, YOU WONT REGRET IT!

    Zachary2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Georgie and Sebastian have an ideal home base for any Sierra adventure you might have in mind! We wanted to be close to the hot springs, which are less than a 10 minute drive away, but we look forward to future visits for cross country skiing and hiking in this beautiful area. I cannot recommend these wonderful cabins enough!

    Lauren2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay over a long weekend with our dog. Georgie and Sebastian are the sweetest hosts - so warm and inviting and made us feel like we were at home. Their dog Blue is a sweetheart and played great with our boy and joined us on a hike. The newly installed gas fireplace (looks like a wood stove one) is just magical! All of the little touches throughout the cabin were well done and thoughtful from the welcome candies and dog biscuit to the mini record player and stylish decor. Lots of updates coming to the property and we can’t wait to come back for their planned coffee shop and supper clubs! Would add another star if we could!

    Beau2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved it, this place was so incredibly charming and was everything we hoped it would be.

    Chris2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay at the ranch. Our dog Zoey had an amazing time also. The cabin was clean and in a perfect location. We were able to meet Georgie and she was so nice to talk to. :) we are excited to come back soon. It for sure will be our new go to getaway place.

    Bianca2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • This was an amazing cabin to stay in. Very clean and stylish. Another bonus of this place was how comfortable the bed was. I would stay here again in a heart beat

Loyalton is a tiny little farming community located in the gorgeous Sierra Valley. The Sierra Hot Springs are located just 13 miles up Hwy 49. There are ample opportunities for outdoor recreation in this quiet little corner of California.
  • Such a cute and cozy room close to the hot springs! About 40 minutes from Truckee which is full of cute shops and diners. Only an hour north of North Lake Tahoe. A lovely room with awesome decorations and thoughtful touches. Would recommend!

  • This place is great! A paradise out in the country. I definitely recommend

    Peter James2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay and value! We really appreciated the warm space with all the wonderful amenities. The room and living area was very cozy and the butler pantry and kitchen were set up to be really self-sufficient. House has a nice old charm with creaky floors. Great experience!

    Christina2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place. You feel like you’ve gone back in time while also having cell service! Will definitely come back.

    Maddy2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a definite gem. I was able to book just two days before arrival and Chelsea made check in easy and low-stress. I wanted to be near the Sierra Hot Springs but somewhere that had its own charm as well. Each room here is painted in an excellent jewel tone (the sort you want to do at home but are too nervous to commit to) then decorated with an amazing eye for style that matches the gold rush era theme and has a good dose of humor, too. The whole place is cozy, from entryway all the way to the back of the house. The kitchen is stocked with all the amenities needed to cook a serious meal and has good fixtures and appliances. The common space really does look as good as it does in the photo. The only thing to note, as the listing says, is that sounds do carry in the very old house; the walls are thin and the floors creak. Just bring ear plugs for sleeping and you’ll be fine. Highly recommended!

    Caroline2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful inn with tons of charm, character, and style. Wonderful location that is walking distance to two great restaurants and only a 15 minute drive to Sierra Hot Springs. Always a joy to stay in a place where the innkeeper is fulfilling a dream... highly recommend!!

    Joseph2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • My 2nd stay here. So clean, so stylish, so many fine little details to take in. Just love it here.

  • This place is wonderful! Please make the trip to this friendly farm town and enjoy the hospitality. When we walked in to her place we felt right at home. Thanks, Chelsea!

The Blithedale Suite offers a 4-poster queen bed in the main bedroom and a second queen bed in an attached bedroom. A private en-suite bathroom is attached to the main bedroom. Rooms at the Inn all feature original wood floors and restored windows with views of the gorgeous valley and surrounding mountains.  Common areas include a library/lounge area, guest kitchen and outdoor seating areas.

The attached bathroom is fully modern with a combo bath/shower, changing area, toilet and vanity. The suite looks out on the garden. • I booked the Blithedale room at about 6:30pm on the day of my stay. I immediately got a note with all the info I needed. When I arrived about an hour later everything was perfect - a personal note and my room key awaiting and a cozy, clean home & room. You will love The Gilded Drifter Inn!

  • I agree with other reviews, it is a hidden gem. Pictures are very accurate, and the place has a very positive cozy atmosphere. My friend and I were impressed with interior and thoughtful details, and would love to come back if we have a chance. Thank you, Chelsea, for being a wonderful host :)

    Elena2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is such a hidden gem, and I’m almost hesitant to leave a review as I want to keep this as a little secret getaway. It is such a special place to stay with so much thought and love in every detail. An art piece in itself! It’s perfection.

    Kelsi2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Our family of 3 had a great time for a night after a soak at the nearby hot springs. We were pleasantly surprised with the thoughtful amenities, the high-quality snacks and the warm, welcoming atmosphere. This place is like a treasure trove with so many cool books, games and antiques, no need for screens! We'd love to come back again and enjoy the outside patio and BBQ sometime. Great price too.

    Jennifer2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. Cozy and have some historical aspect to it.

  • This was a really special place and a great find when we couldn’t get into our favorite hot springs in Sierraville. We were so comfortable in our room and loved having access to a kitchen and cozy living room of this Bed and Breakfast.

    Ava2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place with cozy furniture and vintage decor. Very nice library in the shared living room. It felt like stepping back into a quieter and calmer time. Highly recommended :)

    Constantin2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The Gilded Drifter is an incredible little place! The decor is out of this world, and the experience of it all transports your back in time. The stay exceeded my expectations, and my boyfriend and I hope to come back to Loyalton to visit once again.

    Julie2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • if you are passing through and need a place to crash then i would recommend this spot. Especially if you are heading to sierraville for the springs.

    Andy2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • I have family I visit in Loyalton and was searching for a place close by that I could stay at for a reasonable rate. Not only are the rates fair, I fell in love with the rustic charm of this place! The Guilded Drifter look and ambience echoes with the past. I experienced more of a warm sense of hospitality and really appreciated the level of cleanliness. Thoughtful snacks (GF options) are in your room and you can conveniently Venmo Christine - total lifesaver since I rolled in pretty late and just wanted to relax in my room. As mentioned in the location profile, this is a remodeled Inn built in the 1800s - walls are thin & you can hear movement around the house, but I found guests to be respectful and quiet here. Perfect for writers, self-care vacays, or just a short getaway! Travel can be difficult here during the winter months as a heads up. ✌🏽

    John2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay right near Sierra hot springs

    Thomas 2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Loved it! We were in the area for the Sierra hot springs but they were fully booked. We got the last room at this place about 20 mins away. It was such a unique stay. I love the antique feel of the inn and they have an amazing kitchen. Would recommend to anyone who’s visiting. Only downside is the creaking hears throughout the house when guests walk around.

Hi, I’m Rob and this is my family cabin! Only minutes off the I-80 Truckee exit, it’s a 1-bedroom/1 bath with a loft. Approximately 800sf and a mere block from the public docks on Donner Lake, downtown Truckee is also only minutes away! Ideally situated near all the big ski resorts; Sugar Bowl, Squaw/Alpine, and Northstar, I invite you to a taste of mountain living in the beautiful Sierra’s! -Rob
Inside and out, this property is fantastic anytime of the year. Everything is super clean and well maintained. The kitchen has everything you need; 4-burner gas stove, microwave, toaster, brand-new refrigerator, utensils, etc. Custom Shaker cabinets, quartz countertop, deep stainless sink, and subway tile make preparing meals a joy. A tankless water heater ensures you will never run out of hot water for dishes or showers. The bathroom is completely new from tub and tile to the vanity and toilet. The downstairs bedroom has a triple-bunk bed and is great for children or adults under 6ft tall. Up the stairs is the loft, a cool retro room that has been left to its original vibe. With a desk, closet, dresser, extra blankets and pillows, the loft has everything you need to relax comfortably. The Lazy Boy sofa downstairs also pulls out into a comfy queen bed.
The location of the cabin is amazing. We are in a fun and cool neighborhood full of relaxed locals. Centrally located on Donner Lake, it is a <5min walk to the Donner Lake General store and only a few minutes more to the public docks. Beautiful Old Hwy 40 aka Donner Summit is a 5min drive to the west and Donner Memorial National Park 5min to the east. There are numerous public beaches and docks everywhere in between. There are no shortages for adventure so get out there and see what Mother Nature has to offer! p.s. There are bears in the area. They pose no threat to your safety but it is IMPERATIVE that all trash be put in the bear-proof trash box at the top of the stairs. If you leave food out the bears WILL COME FOR IT and make a HUGE mess. Don’t be that person. Also, don’t leave food in your vehicle with the door unlocked because the bears will also get into your car. Not a fun surprise.
  • This cabin is warm, cozy and inviting. Everything is easy use and if you have any questions, Robert is especially quick to respond. He is very accommodating and friendly. Would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a fun place to stay with their family.

Canyon Ranch is a newly renovated ranch nestled in the heart of the Sierras, providing a magical place to wind down and reconnect with friends and family. Enjoy the sound of the bubbling creek that runs through the heart of our property and when the sun goes down, lie back and be captivated by the starry night sky. Our seven cabins have each been lovingly restored with the discerning traveller in mind and provide the perfect base to explore the stunning Sierra Nevada mountains.
Recently refurbished with all new furnishings and fixtures, Coldstream Perch exudes rustic modern charm. Handcrafted reclaimed wood shelves house enamel dinnerware from Canyon Crow Home and the kitchen comes equipped with full fridge, oven, toaster, French press and every utensil you’ll need to hunker down, gather and cook with friends and family. The bedroom area is perfectly set up for families and offers a new queen bed and twin bunks. With a luxury Casper queen mattress, crisp white linens and Faribault wool blankets and gas stove, you’ll be counting down the minutes until bedtime. The living area comes with vintage rattan chair and vinyl player and records, so when you’re not listening to the relaxing babble of the creek, curl up and listen to some music. Or maybe kick your shoes off and dance! Lighting is by Schoolhouse and a private bathroom offers a shower with organic shampoo and body wash to refresh after a day connecting with Mother Nature. Outside your own private deck directly overlooks the creek and a charcoal BBQ is provided for the ultimate in cooking underneath the stars. The cabin is perfect for 4 adults maximum or two adults and two children. One well behaved dog is allowed for an extra $20 per night, but please no pooches on the furniture/textiles at any time.
The many world renowned ski resorts of Tahoe are all just a short drive away, yet far enough away to offer a tranquil reprieve from the bustle of the mountain. Lucky for our guests, the world famous Sierra Hot Springs are situated close by, offering a place to soak and let the stresses of everyday life melt away.
  • Had a peaceful and restorative weekend at Georgie and Sebastian's. They kept the cabin very clean and nicely appointed that all details were well thought out. My husband and I especially enjoyed the records and turntable, the gas fireplace, and breakfast at the porch next to the rushing creek. The bed was so comfy too! Georgie and Sebastian were very responsive to communications and accommodating of requests. They're putting a lot of care into improvements on the cabins and the property that we can't wait to return and experience more of their place.

    Trish2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a complete gem!! We're already planning our return trip. Cabin is literally on the river, with a beautiful deck overlooking the water. Owners are incredibly friendly. The cabin is a well spaced studio. Kitchen is well stocked and was fun for us to cook in. Totally recommend it!

  • Very cute place next to a lovely river. Georgie was very helpful and communicative. The record player was a great touch as we listened to records our entire stay!

    Ryan2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Woodsmoke and our girls called it our 'wooden house' for a few days. Georgie was so helpful with information before we arrived and left treats for the kids and us. The beds were comfortable and it's clear the positive updates Georgie and Sebastian have made to the cabin so far. Having the creek just outside and seeing the clear night sky was something very special. The vinyls are a great touch and we played dominoes together as a family for the first time ever. To anyone heading West upon leaving Sierraville, we really recommend taking the 49 westbound if you have time, as a scenic way to avoid the 80 for a while. Thanks again Georgie and Sebastian!

  • Dow was a great host -- friendly and responsive. It was a great place for my dog too -- she was very welcomed and had fun hanging out with Chief.

  • Wonderful stay at the cozy cabin. Everything we needed for a few days in mountains skiing with my 11 year old daughter. Room is very cozy and we had access to whole house and often had the place to ourselves. Felt right at home. Chief, the dog is the best! Hot tub is a great bonus especially after skiing. Would definitely come back.

This studio is complete with a queen size bed, full bathroom, kitchenette, a desk, a sofa bed and a flat-screen smart TV mounted on the wall. There is ample parking spots and guest passes for all the amenities. This desirable location is within close proximity to several other mountains and attractions. 1 mile from Tahoe Donner Cross Country Ski Area 1.5 miles from Tahoe Donner Golf Course 6.5 miles from Historic Downtown Truckee 8 miles from Donner Lake 8.6 miles from Boreal Mountain 12 miles from Sugar Bowl 15.1 miles to Squaw Valley This little condo is at the base of Tahoe Donner ski hill. It's ideal for two or three people. Great view. I try to keep the price discount because there are some minor imperfections in the kitchen and limited furnishings. No pets! Current furnishings are modern. Amenities include: kitchen (with convection microwave, hot plate, coffee maker, sink, and fridge, not a full kitchen); queen size bed with memory foam topper, a couch that becomes a queen (not in photos) & two Japanese folding beds. It could sleep 4-5 people but that would a lot of people in this small studio condo. There is flat screen TV; (with Netflix, YouTube, no cable); high speed internet (WiFi); balcony; picnic area with BBQ, bistro table and chairs (during summer); playground in the back of the building, laundry facilities (coin operated); two pairs of snow shoes (in closet); and onsite management. • Wonderful view and very comfortable studio. Better than I expected. And bigger than photo shows. Bright and clean. Comfy bed, heating, all kitchen stuff. And location! You can ski right to the porch. With guest card we got discount for lift tickets. We were in spa, it was good. A place like this doesn’t need advertising. This is the best of the best. Nice, stylish and comfortable. There is everything you need. Just come, everything else is here. You will love this place!

Rustic charm with modern amenities. Built in 1927, our stone cabin in the Rainbow community near Donner Summit beautifully blends historic cabin charm with the comforts of modern conveniences. The cabin features original stone walls and timber ceilings and loft. Modern upgrades include updated bathroom, stove, oven, and dishwasher in kitchen, and laundry machines. The cabin is surrounded by granite boulders, trees, and the Yuba River. Placer County TOT70724
Situated in the Rainbow neighborhood along the Yuba River, our cabin is in an ideal spot for nature lovers and those seeking a quiet, relaxing stay. The popular Loch Leven hiking trail is a few minutes from the cabin. You can hike to the transcontinental railroad tracks and beautiful mountain lakes. There are several swimming holes near the cabin to use during the summer. Donner Lake and the town of Truckee, which offers shopping, dining, and a historic downtown, are only a 20 minute drive away. During ski season, there are several ski resorts nearby, including Boreal, Sugar Bowl, Tahoe Donner, and Squaw Valley. We are currently listing the cabin for late spring, summer, and fall for our guests to enjoy the hiking and swimming nearby. Because the cabin is situated at 5700 feet elevation, winter months bring a lot of snow which makes accessing the cabin difficult. If you are interested in renting the cabin during the winter, please message us. This cabin rental is run by a family and not a service. As such, you won’t have 24 hour concierge service or the fees associated with it. Our family will work hard to provide an enjoyable guest experience. Additional information: Due to the open loft area, bringing small children is not recommended. We put a baby gate on the stairs and we bring our toddler all the time, but we want to be clear that small children need to be supervised and are not allowed in the loft. Be safe as the loft stairs are a bit steep and lack child proof railing. Our Chocolate Labrador, Jasper, loves the cabin and invites other four-legged friends to visit! If you are bringing a dog there will be an additional $20 cleaning fee for your stay as our cleaner will spend significantly extra time cleaning. If you are allergic to dogs, please understand that dogs have been in the cabin and no matter how well we clean there will likely be some allergens present. There are dog beds, water and food bowls, etc. Fun fact: The water for the cabin used to be bottled by Crystal Geyser Spring Water, so enjoy the great tasting water! The Cabin is in the forest so bears and other animals do exist. Do not leave food or trash outside or in your car. We are installing bear bins for you to put your trash. Please bring your own beach towels for swimming in the river.
We are in a very quiet neighborhood next to the Yuba River, Loch Leven trailhead, and the historic Rainbow Lodge.

Tucked away on historic Donner Summit, our cozy cabin home is the perfect place to relax and rejuvenate after a day of mountain activity. Your private room has a queen-sized bed and a walnut deskspace w/monitor. We are just off of I-80, 5 minutes down the road from Sugar Bowl and a Pacific Crest Trail trailhead, and a 15-minute drive to Truckee. Relax in the comfy living room by the fire, or get some fresh air among the trees and rocks. Access to our clean, well-equipped kitchen, too.
This place is our mountain sanctuary. We think you'll find it can also be yours during your stay. We've arranged the interior space with thought, care, and charm. The location allows you to enjoy all the North Lake Tahoe area has to offer, all year round. Basically next door to Sugar Bowl, Soda Springs, Donner Ski Ranch, and Boreal skiing, not to mention Royal Gorge, the largest cross-country ski resort in North America. A reasonable drive to Squaw/Alpine and North Star. When the weather is warm, you might want to go rock climbing, take a run around Donner Lake, or explore the world-class trails by foot or mountain bike.
Soda Springs is a quiet, peaceful community of fewer than 100 full-time residents. We enjoy that it feels separate from the rest of the busy world, but we don't feel like we're in the middle of nowhere, either. The general store in Soda Springs has all your basics, and even wine tasting at 2:30pm on Sunday afternoons. The neighboring Serene Lakes neighborhood is a quiet residential area with connecting lakes for swimming, paddle boarding, and canoeing/kayaking. Check out Thai Food Fridays at Donner Ski Ranch, or the Summit Haus Biergarten for locally crafted sausages and accompaniments.
  • A charming, cozy, intimate winter cabin nestled among lovely trees and large beautiful snow drifts; much more character than a standard hotel/motel or more expensive Airbnb place would have been. The wall-mounted computer monitor at the desk in the bedroom was a nice touch. The place was great for crashing after a day at the Royal Gorge Cross Country Ski Resort. Shawn was very helpful, even when, due to my not following his suggestion, my car slowly slid backward into an embankment b/c I didn't put tire chains on. He pulled me out. Thank you Shawn!

Lots of remodels have been done to this rustic cabin. The cabin is wood stove heated. Wood is provided. There are 3 bedrooms. One on the main floor with a queen bed, one at the lower garage level (this room stays nice and cool). This lower level room has a queen size bed and double size bunk beds. The upper loft floor has a double and two twins. Pets that will not be left alone & are not prone to indoor accidents, chewing, excessive barking are welcome.
This is a rustic cabin that has had some remodeling done. New tile and flooring is in the kitchen, bathroom, and throughout. The cabin is wood stove heated. Wood is provided. The wood stove is very efficient and will burn for 8-12 hours. Although the stove does a great job heating the cabin, I currently am not renting the cabin out during the cooler months, unless you can provide me with a statement with your experience using a wood stove as the sole heating source in the past. If you book without this statement, I may have to cancel the reservation for this reason. There are 3 bedrooms. One on the main floor with a queen bed, one at the lower garage level (this room stays nice and cool). This lower level room has a queen size bed and double size bunk beds. The upper loft floor has a double and two twins. As described, the house is a tri level with sleeping areas in each level. The laundry room on the main floor has a washer/dryer. The kitchen is fully functional with a dishwasher, coffee maker, and juicer, although there is no microwave. The bathroom has a shower/tub combo. The living room is large to seat everyone and has a card table that extends to sit 6. This with the kitchen table can sit 12 total. The front porch faces toward a park where you can whistle your kids home. The park also has basketball hoops, tennis courts, and a baseball diamond. The back yard has a charcoal bbq and faces wilderness where there is lots of privacy. There are nearby quad, sledding, and snowmobile trails so bring your toys. Nearby is the trailhead to Calpine lookout, Graeagle for golf, beer/wine tasting and cute shops (15 minute drive), Sierraville for biking, hot springs, and a shooting range (15 minute drive), Gold Lakes with great hiking and swimming at Sand Pond (25 minute drive), and Portola where a grocery store and public pool are (30 minutes). North Star ski resort and Truckee are about a 45 minute drive away and birdwatching in Sierra Valley is beautiful. Jackson Lake is a 30 minute drive for great fishing.
There is a park with basketball hoops, tennis courts, and baseball fields 300 yards away.
  • Heather's house was a great stay. Ideal location for our needs, great back porch, right against a forest. And did I mention an epic collection of VHS tapes and DVDs. The wood stove has no problem getting the house nice and cozy. We'll be back.

    Adam2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • This by far has been the best place we've ever stayed at. Everything was absolutely perfect it was clean and there was more than enough space for our big family. Heather thought of everything anyone could ever need and more. There were fishing rods and bikes that we were able to use on our trip and even caught fish with. The juicer was a fun touch. The kids got to play the Wii upstairs at the end of the day and my husband absolutely enjoyed the awesome collection of movies. There was nothing at all that we needed for that wasnt already there and there was absolutely nothing we would change. Cant wait to come back again!

    Yelena2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. Great host. The cabin is perfect. Location is on a very quiet side street with ample parking and a great back yard. The cabin is clean and spacious and well appointed. Heather is a treat to work with. She is responsive and helpful. I'll be staying again when I'm working in the area next.

We are a dog friendly adventure land, and their humans who love dogs are welcome, with or without their own dog. You can enjoy your vacation knowing your dog/s are with you, and enjoying theirs. You can eat out, cook your own food, or enjoy our specialty dinners at the end of your adventures, please order in advance. There is always water, coffee, tea, sugar and milk or cream, or a glass of wine or a beer. We do not accept Children under the age of twelve because of our dog commitment.
We are a large 5,oo plus sq ft cabin. the bathroom is not attached to the bedroom, but the trek is short and private at night. We occasionally have other dogs staying here for training. They are friendly, well behaved and ready to meet new friends.
We are located on 26 acres of woods, 8 miles outside of Truckee up Hwy 89. It is peaceful, and has many adventures right outside the door for hiking, snowshoeing, biking, kayaking, and of course skiing resorts like Northstar, Alpine and squaw Valley are close. Downtown Truckee has great restaurants, amazing shopping, and high gas prices. There is most every service you would need.
  • We absolutely LOVED our stay here and have been telling all of our dog-lover friends to visit and stay here! Our space was perfect - a bedroom and solarium. Both were very clean, calming and with beautiful views of the trees outside. Jeffrey Lynn was an absolutely incredible host. She pays attention to the little details, is incredibly kind and communicative and is just a lovely human being overall. We cannot wait to go back! (And were even going to board our dog there for a few upcoming trips!)

  • Comfortable bed and private dining area. Great place to bring your dog. Gained insight into rural living . Best if you have an AWD vehicle to get in and out on days when there is snow. My daughter, our dog and I really enjoyed our weekend. Luna loved the homemade gourmet dog food! - thank you

    Lisal2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Jeffrey Lynn goes above and beyond as a host. Her place is clean, quiet, spacious, and fully equipped with all the necessary amenities. She provided us directions to get to her house to avoid getting stuck in muddy roads and even stayed up to check us in when we arrived late at night. She is warm and welcoming, which made us feel at home right away. She has great tips for anything Tahoe, Truckee, dogs, etc. I highly recommend staying with Jeffrey Lynn! :)

    Wendy2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Jeffrey is beyond amazing. She’s an incredible host and an amazing dog trainer. Loved the quaint, quiet space on her property. Highly recommended!

    Charlotte2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We have stayed with Jeffrey at least 4 times, we (and our pups) love it so much! She is so thoughtful and welcoming, and so wonderful to talk to. We love that we can leave our dogs with Jeffrey and not have to worry while we go skiing for the day. We are lucky to have met Jeffrey and to consider her a friend now!

    Kimberly2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • My husband, our dog and I had a wonderful stay this past weekend. Jeffrey Lynn was a gracious host and her place was clean, comfortable and restful. There are many special touches that make her place special - the warm decor, the cozy sitting room, all the amenities needed for a home away from home. The setting is quiet and away from town, yet close enough to grab a bite for dinner. It was fun for our dog to have some dog friends and very pleasant to chat with Jeffrey Lynn. We look forward to staying with her again!

    Mary2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed for a ski weekend and it was wonderful to have a fun and safe place for our dog to stay as well. We would definitely stay here again! Jeffery Lynn was so welcoming to us and our dog and she is obviously very experienced caring for dogs.

    Cassie2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place to stay out in the woods and a total bonus if you like dogs or would like to bring your own. Make sure you bring a 4WD car with you if you suspect rain or snow. The house was super cozy and Jeffrey Lynn was an amazing and very kind host. The provided breakfast was a huge plus for us as it really fueled us well for skiing in Tahoe. I would definitely encourage people to check this place out.

Enjoy the outdoors even when you are in! Family friendly, too!
This is a cozy unit with an upstairs/downstairs totaling 888 sq feet. Built in the early 70s, so feels more rustic and cozy than a more modern style. Kitchen is fully stocked for your cooking ease, and in summertime, BBQ is ready to go on the upstairs deck!

The Trout Creek Rec Center is within walking distance, just over 1/4 mile down the hill. Spa, pools, steam, sauna and full exercise area! Tahoe Donner also has 11 immaculately groomed tennis courts, equestrian center and mtn bike rentals. In winter, FAT Bikes, as well as XCountry skiing are at your fingertips as well. Lastly, the downhill ski area of Tahoe Donner is only 2 miles up the hill from your tree fort. Or, if you prefer to go out of the resort and experience any of the World's finest ski resorts, such as Squaw Valley or NorthStar, you are within a half hour drive (without traffic). Truckee is a charming 'train town', and if you are lucky enough to visit during winter you will think you walked into a 'snow globe'....the magical lights and trees along with festivities of all the quaint shops makes you wish you could stay just a little bit longer.

  • This is our second stay here and the place is still as good as we remember it. The house is clean, has everything you will need and has good restaurants walking distance from it. Check in is a breeze. We will surely be back next year!

  • Probably one of the few airbnb in Sierraville and a super clean one. We will stay again.

  • Everything about the Valley House was amazing! The whole house is spotless and it was so cozy and comfortable. The house had everything you would at home and that’s what it felt like HOME. This is our first Airbnb stay and we are super satisfied . We would definitely recommend a stay here and we will be back ourselves.

    Luis2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first stay in Unit #1. It's a lovely space which happens to also be ADA. Very comfortable accommodations, as well as clean. We found everything we needed in the kitchen. Love the location, since you can walk to grab a meal just a block or so away. Sierra Valley is a gem for birding and Brendan and Megan's place is perfect.

    Susie2019-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Really clean, easy, well furnished to sleep and eat, sweet bathroom, spacious, looks out onto the the valley.

  • We spent 3 months in unit 1, feb - may. What a fantastic spot. Brendan was highly accommodating, the unit itself was perfect, the location is amazing, the Sierra Valley is a special place. The soundproofing between the two units is quite good, we never heard our neighbors. Any issue or question we had, Brendan was on it. We couldn’t have asked for a better situation.

    Tyler2019-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • Brendan and Megan are excellent hosts. They provided all relevant information promptly. The property is clean and well-equipped with all the essential amenities. We hope to stay here again in the future.

    Pranav2019-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Megan and Brendan’s place is very special. We stayed for several days and left feeling relaxed and ready for life. It was a great escape! It’s a really preferable alternative to Truckee if you are looking for a proper quiet getaway. It is hands down the most comfortable bed other than my own (maybe better?) that I have slept in. There’s 2 great cafe spots with the nicest people and good food, though we do recommend bringing most of your own food since there’s a full kitchen. In a pinch, and if you need booze, the gas station/general store is right there. Those folks are also super nice and helpful. Also, if you’re up for an adventure, the Sierra Hot Springs is a quick drive. Most of all, Brendan’s kindness and clear concern for his guests makes this a must.

Especially loved hanging out on the back patio and playing old dean Martin records in the library. We went to the hot springs every night, a very quick 13 minutes straight down the road. During the day we went exploring the many surrounding lakes and even dug up some cool crystals! Chelsea also has a great book collection.

A lovely 4 bedroom house on a 1400-acre working cattle ranch in a large sub-alpine valley in the Sierra Nevada, 25 miles north of Truckee. Private meadows and forests to explore, as well as a jumping off place for excursions in the northern Sierra.
  • This house is beyond epic. beautiful and everything was thoughtful and of the best quality. beautiful property and energy

  • Eveline's home is absolutely spectacular. We rented the space as we were headed to a wedding in the area. This Air Bnb made the weekend for us. It is beautiful, serene, spacious- it is almost impossible not to relax just by being there. We were so sad to leave! Highly recommend if you are traveling to the area. Eveline was also a very responsive and kind host, accommodating our check-in needs. Overall, one of my favorite rental experiences I've ever had!

  • We had a perfect retreat at Lemon Canyon. With a wrap around porch, outdoor shower, beautiful views, comfortable beds, and great kitchen, it was hard to leave! We spent our days exploring different lakes in the area and our mornings and evenings relaxing at the house. Eveline was great to communicate with, quickly answering any questions I had. I can't wait for our next visit to Sierraville!

    Megan2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Truly wonderful! We felt immediately at home & honestly so sad to leave! Lots to see & do in a 50 mile radius, relaxing & beautiful house & ranch! Absolutely loved it!!!

    Stephanie2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is our second time at the house, and it does not disappoint. A beautiful, cosy, relaxing house styled more European than American, which adds to its charm. We use it as a base camp for visiting some incredible lakes, walks, and waterfalls in the area. Not to mention the 1400 acres at your disposal from the front door. Very quiet, peaceful, and about the best retreat space I have ever been to. Highly recommended, and worth the higher price! I really love the kitchen, and make full use of the double oven and 6 burner stove. The kitchen is small but efficient and lovely to cook in! All in all, we love it here; it suits our needs for quiet, function, beautiful aesthetics, but without the overstuffed and ostentatious feel of other places at the same price point.

  • Lemon Canyon Ranch is a dream of a place. The eloquently relaxed home, the expansive view of land and sky from inside and out (including the stars from your bed!), the variety of natural habitats to explore and the delightful bird song pull you to stay here all day for days on end! You will be enticed to drop your devices and become absorbed in this remote and beautiful slice of Sierra Valley. It's healing and calming effect are unmistakable. All creature comforts are superbly met (beds, bedding, fantastic "bathing" room, kitchen with all the appliances, pots and utensils you can want), lovely spots to dine from the deck to the lawn chairs to the front porch to the dining room with its "wrap around" fire place, and reading materials for every interest - including good resource materials for the surrounding area. While I've been coming to Sierra Valley for 3 decades I only found this special retreat last year. I hope to be returning (along with all the birds) every year from now on. Thank you for making it available! ps: communication with Eveline was always cordial, responsive, helpful and prompt. She went out of her way to resolve a problem that arose in the reservation process. Couldn't ask for more.

    Kitty2019-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • This place is very special. I'm so impressed with the location and what the owners have done here; it's an incredible place to spend a week, with beautiful views, a light and wonderful home with verandahs all around, streams and forests and grassland available to walk in from any direction, and the people we met were so friendly. Our dog had the best time of all. Thank you so much to Eveline.

    Lisa2019-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect place! Cosy, comfortable, super clean, well appointed, blissfully quiet. Amazing views. Awesome kitchen with everything we needed to feed our little group hearty homemade meals :)

  • Sandy's studio is the quintessential Tahoe space. It's tastefully themed (cozy cabin vibes!), clean, and warm. Perfect for quiet evenings after long days skiing. Sandy was quick to respond and kind. When we arrived somewhat late at night the fireplace was on and the studio was nice and welcoming. We absolutely plan to stay here again in the future!

    Grace2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is adorable. It is cozy, but was just the right space for our family of 4. The location is great. There is a bit of a hill down to the lake, but a public dock right across the street makes the water easy to get to.

    Jillian2019-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Was here on a romantic getaway. It s size was comfy, not too big not too small. Bed was ultra fluffy. Charming kitchen. The wool pellet fireplace was fun and a new experience. Bathtub is nice a big. Nice vintage lighting with stained glass lamps. If you are going to take a bath be sure to give the hot water heater plenty of time to warm up, because the bathtub is so big and you might run out of hot water. Porch was nice place to eat. I recommend a nice 3 hour hike of the Mount Judah Loop Trail which is a 12 minute drive from the house and a 4.8 minute hike to the summit of the mountain. Download the All Trails App to be sure not to get lost!

We checked in within two hours of booking without any issues! The place was very clean. 2.5 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms with a couch downstairs. The kitchen and place seemed newly renovated and modern. Truckee is a great place to stay as we were close to the resorts and 80 highway. Would recommend!

ON THE TRUCKEE RIVER right in the historic downtown area, our little studio is a 2 block walk to restaurants AND shopping. You’ll love our place because you can sit inside or in bed and watch the river flow by. It's peaceful place, new and modern, private and the middle of it all. It's not just a place to stay, it's a destination. QUIET people only please. We have a high end sofa sleeper on the main floor + 2 twin beds in the loft up a ladder. It's a tight fit for 4 but doable if you're close.
Our space is unique because it's right on the river in downtown Truckee. We just built this home so it's super clean, modern, light and bright and energy efficient. We try our best to make it the most welcoming and comfortable place you can stay in town. We appreciate QUIET peaceful guests as it's sort of a little sanctuary here. It's more of a tranquil getaway and don't want to encourage parties or loud get togethers. Please settle down by 9:30 or 10pm. There is extra sound insulation between the apartment and the house but if people are outside or loud inside some noises do travel and we want to keep a relaxing more quiet residence here. The queen sofa sleeper is in the main room and made by "American Leather" although it's not leather at all. It's a dense foam mattress and does not have springs. Most people think it's very comfortable and a few think it is not so comfortable because it's quite firm. Let us know before your arrival if you would like it made up into a bed for your arrival or left as a couch. Since the apartment is pretty small, once the bed is made up there's less hang out room. The bedding for it is inside the coffee table/trunk and the hall closet if you want to make it up later yourself to. There are 2 twin beds up the ladder in the loft. It's all pretty small so there really isn't privacy between the loft and the downstairs. We have a small kitchen with a refrigerator, toaster oven, microwave, drip coffee cones and filters, electric burner with pots and pans, BBQ outside and sort of miniature everything. Make sure to look inside the kitchen drawers and cabinets to find these items. We supply a bit of coffee, tea, sugar and cream. The heating is hydronic. It's tubes of hot water in the floor. The place is usually very warm and comfortable. The floor is concrete. Northstar is about a 10-15 min drive when there isn't any traffic. Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows are about 20-25 min away. Lake Tahoe is about 20 minutes away by car. Warning: We have a couple Bee Hives on the property. The apartment is attached to the west side of our house. The Bee Hives are in the back yard on the east side of the house. Please do not go near them. You probably won't even see them but if this makes you nervous you may want to stay somewhere else. The apartment is it's own place with it's own entrance but it is attached to our house. Remember this is a mellow neighborhood so we try to attract more mellow, low volume guests, no parties please. No humans under 12 please, sorry.
Our neighborhood is so unique because it's just a couple level blocks to town, restaurants, shops and the train station yet out the back door it looks like we are in the wilderness with the river right out the back door. This really is a space for quieter mellow people. No parties please.
  • We were stuck in Truckee during a blizzard and found Christine's lovely studio. Such a comfortable place to hunker down and enjoy the river! When the town (including us) lost power, Christine brought us solar lanterns and the house stayed warm thanks to thier generator. Plus, Paul helped us get our car out of the snow the next day. Highly recommend!!

    Hannah2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • I have stayed at this place before and love its convenience to Old Town Truckee and all outdoor activities. Chris and Paul are wonderful hosts, and I am already looking forward to staying with them again soon!

  • Great location right on the Truckee River and less than 10 minute walk from downtown Truckee. We loved being able to walk down to the river or just sit on the porch and enjoy. Easy check in/out and stocked with all the necessities. We would absolutely book again!

    Zachary2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the place! The view of the river was beautiful and the place was impeccably decorated, loved all the wood touches. Stayed very cozy and warm during the stay. The place is also walking distance to the downtown with shops and restaurants. Would recommend this place to anyone and would come back again!

    Jill2020-03-01T00:00:00Z

  • Love this location squeezed in between the trains and the Truckee River. I hadn't thought before the river would be quieter in winter than summer, and of course the sliding glass door wouldnt be left open in winter either. A very calm experience was had without being far away from people or town.

  • Very comfortable space in a great location. Worked very well for a group of friends skiing for a long weekend. We were disappointed to find that the hot tub was not actually an included amenity, but rather a fairly significant extra charge per person for single time use in a public rec center. Beyond that, everything was as advertised and great!

    Jack2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay, great location only 10 mins from downtown Truckee. Pictures were accurate. The house was very clean and stocked with plenty of cooking utensils and dishes. Loved the expresso machine. Just one mention; the Trout Recreation Center membership doesn’t include access to the use of the facility without an extra fee. That being said, the place was very cozy and we would definitely stay again.

  • Allison’s Place is beautiful and cozy. We had so much fun playing in the snow during the day and sitting by the fire in the evening. Quick walk down the hill to a convenient neighborhood grocery store. Easy access by train. Only issue was that the damper on the stove pipe had fallen to the bottom of the stove and first we couldn’t light a fire. But then we manually turned it open from inside the stove and it worked out! Hopefully that will be fixed! Hope to be back next year!

    Elena2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • What an incredible cabin in a spectacular place. We found the accommodations to be warm, comfortable and exactly what we were looking for. Truckee itself was also terrific, majestic and beyond expectations. Great bunk beds for the kids to share and comfy beds. An overall warm vibe!

  • Allison’s home is the perfect mountain getaway! Our family enjoyed our stay immensely. Everything was very clean and comfortable. We appreciated all the kitchen amenities, plenty of options for cooking and serving. Enough room for all 5 of us to spread out comfortably yet still be together. The home is decorated beautifully and the location is perfect. We will definitely stay here again, the kids already want to go back.

    Brittany2019-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. Very nice cabin, with good amenities. I used to own a house nearby and thought it was the greatest. Allison's place is even better. Wonderful views of the woods and open space. Nice deck, open living room. Everything works great, fast wifi, modern heating system, lots of hot water, strong water pressure, driveway close to front door with no stairs (great in heavy snow). The master is the whole floor upstairs. A real gem!

  • My friends and I had an amazing stay at this cabin. We drove up for a long weekend in winter and the roads were clear! The cabin was even better than we could have imagined, with a nice view and extra long driveway that was perfect for sledding!!! Would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a quiet trip away.
