The BlueBell pub in Langham is now open, only 5 doors away and offers gastro pub food. The Shed in my garden is only 2 miles from Blakeney with pubs and shops and 2 miles from Morston where there is a lovely pub and trips to sea the seals. Holkham is 20 minutes, regularly voted one of the top 5 beaches in the world! Wells-Next-The-Sea has plenty of shops, award winning pubs and cafes plus the wonderful golden sands of the beach. Guests like the Egyptian cotton linen, feather bedding and hot shower in The Shed in my garden. Others have commented about the peace and tranquility and the view of my garden from the cosy warm interior of The Shed. Guests always appreciate the nibbles and facilities for making a drink and it's always easy to park right outside my house. 2020 will see the opening of The Harper, converted from the Langham glass factory offering The Stove restaurant, single use plastic will be a no-no with the additional aim of minimising their carbon footprint as much as possible. • Super cute little place to stay for a couple of nights! Lovingly decorated and really cosy - obviously a lot of thought has gone into transforming the shed and it really shows. Regular check in messages from Alison and its was super easy to find and check in, only comment is that local transport is limited so would recommend having a car! Thanks a lot, loved staying here.

Little Gem is barely 2 mins from Sheringham beach, bijou, self contained, bright and modern. The space is limited but well laid out to provide a bathroom with a shower and a fully equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar for dining. Additionally, there is a sofa on the first floor for watching TV Wifi now up and running! Bedding is feather and Egyptian cotton, deep firm orthopaedic mattress with feather topper There is unlimited parking available on nearby roads but no private parking
Little Gem is the smallest freehold property in Sheringham. Best for short stays and slim guests with little luggage. Sheringham is one of the few places in Britain where you can see both the sunrise and sunset over the sea The bathroom is off the kitchen on the ground floor and the bedroom is on the first floor with ceiling open to the rafters so restricted head height in some places. The electric shower is not a power shower, please don't be disappointed. The accommodation is fresh with a seaside theme. We leave UHT milk, biscuits, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and sugar to welcome you. Soap, shampoo, Egyptian cotton bed linen, bath towels (please note no hand towels), hairdryer and iron are provided. There is a key safe which offers ease of access upon arrival. The property is only a few minutes from Sheringham beach. On road unlimited parking can be found on Cremer St and Cliff Rd, both very close by. There is also timed parking on the High St and a pay and display car park at the bottom of beach Rd. The Salvation Army car park is practically opposite Little Gem and if spaces are available, it would be possible to unload upon arrival. Parking may be limited during the peak holiday season and not always easy to find There is Wifi and a TV I do not allow pets
Sheringham is a vibrant, friendly seaside town. Beautiful golden sands and traditional beach huts, ice cream cones and bunting set the scene. Sheringham offers a wealth of things to do, with The Mo museum, Steam Railway with steam trains running frequently to Holt and Weybourne, Splash Swimming Pool and Golf Course. The thriving high street offers a wealth of independent stores, coffee shops and places to eat. Local attractions include, The Muckleburgh Collection, National Trust properties at Felbrigg and Blickling. From Morston and Blakeney take a trip to see the seals or simply enjoy being beside the sea.
  • Little Gem is an ideal base from which to explore Sherringham and the surrounding area. Alison is a fabulous host and we would definitely recommend.

  • Little Gem is a cosy, warm and well equipped modern space close to the sea and in a great location for exploring North Norfolk.

    Marion2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Absoloutely gorgeous. A very well located dwelling situated in the heart of the town and minutes from the sea. Beautifully decorated inside and lots of extra little touches for when you arrive. Everything was easy to find during our stay and a well equipped little home.

    Louise2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic stay! What an incredible space Little Gem is. Such a sweet, cosy yet modern place to stay. Location is great. Lots of places to eat/drink. Little Gem has everything you need, you could just turn up with a change of clothes! Kitchen & bathroom kitted out with everything you need. Extremely clean. Alison was in communication with us lots and provided a wealth of information. You won’t be disappointed if you stay.

    Louise2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place to stay. Very clean with lots of tips on where to go and where to eat. Great location just off of the High Street and is situated two minutes from the beach in one direction and the station in the other. Not much in Sheringham is open late in the off season (November - March) but there was plenty of places open in nearby villages if you have a car, or in Cromer, which was only a very short and cheap train ride away.

    Robin2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Little Gem is well named, it is very small! But that's part of its charm and Alison has somehow managed to cram in everything you're likely to need. It's a great place to stay for a visit to the north Norfolk coast, being in the heart of Sheringham means it's very close to some good local pubs, cafes, and restaurants and a short journey away from the other towns and villages along the coast.

    Steven2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Little Gem is just that, a compact but beautifully formed haven in a nice little seaside town. The ‘house’ is very clean, warm and well equipped. The linen is lovely and the bed comfortable.

    Wootton2020-02-07T00:00:00Z

  • We loved our weekend away in Norfolk. Sarah's is just lovely! From the communication we received from her in helping us plan our trip before we arrived but also messaging us when the pubs shut with suggestions and asking how she could help. The Little Stables is also lovely. So peaceful, clean and private. It had everything we need especially when we ended up probably being indoors a little more than we planned. Also the thoughtful touches with the welcome food pack was just brilliant. We will definitely be back!

    Tara2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • I booked Sarah's place as a weekend mini break for my parents and their cocker spaniel. They had a wonderful time, found it very relaxing and peaceful, and haven't stopped talking about it since! Everything was easy to organise, and Sarah went above and beyond to make their trip memorable.

    Madeleine2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This two nights break was booked as a surprise Christmas present for my parents. Sarah was amazing from the day I booked and all the way through the stay, even sending a gift certificate so I had something to give my parents on Christmas Day. My parents had an amazing time and couldn't comment anymore highly about the decor, generous welcome goodies and Sarah's hospitality. They are keen to return and I will be booking a stay for myself!

    Rebecca2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Expect everything and more! Couldn’t fault it for anything. Beautiful interior, everything you need is there and location is great :) we will be coming back!

The Shed: A beautifully restored, detached annexe of a large family house, comfortably sleeps 4 with secret cubby hole for a 5th person. Perfect for couples, friends, a family and foodies with Michelin* Morston Hall next door. Morston is a pretty coastal village in fashionable north Norfolk. The Anchor pub serves excellent food. Beautifully decorated south facing rooms and suntrap terrace. An idyllic rural location with off street parking, just minutes from beaches, culture, pubs and shops.
Master bedroom - south facing and spacious, kingsize bed, reading lamps and mini library, luggage bench, wall hooks and underbed storage. Bedroom 2 - comfortable built-in adult bunk beds with reading lights. An additional cubby hole sleeps the 5th person (always popular with children!). This is accessed from the top bunk - please note limited headroom here. The sofabed in sitting room offers additional flexibility. Please note the bunk room does not have a door to the corridor. A corridor links the bathroom and each bedroom to the sitting room/kitchen. The sitting room with kitchenette has a hob, microwave, fridge, toaster, kettle, Nespresso coffee machine with some tea and coffee provided, and table & chairs. Cooking facilities are basic but adequate for simple quick meals. There is comfortable seating with board games, freeview TV / DVD player, DVDs & books for you to enjoy during your stay. French doors lead out onto a sheltered sunny terrace with your own BBQ looking out over a pretty kitchen garden. Please note The Shed's terrace adjoins our family terrace which on the whole will not be in use while you are staying although we and our dogs do pass through regularly - see photos.
Morston is a pretty village on the north Norfolk coast with heaps to do. Daily seal trips leave from Morston Quay for Blakeney Point, a sailing/power boating school, the Anchor Inn village pub is fantastic(!), as is the michelin starred Morston Hall restaurant - booking is advisable for both in high season. The AONB and Norfolk coastal path is just minutes away for fabulous walks, the sea, sailing, birdwatching, fresh sea air and the beautiful salt marshes. Surrounding Area - Wiveton Cafe and PYO fruit farm (famous for the Normal for Norfolk TV documentary) and Blakeney village for mud-sliding and crabbing are both within easy reach by foot or bike. The sandy beaches of Wells and Holkham 5-10 mins drive. Historic houses of Holkham Hall and deer park (10 mins), Houghton Hall (wonderful outdoor sculpture in the park and walled gardens 30 mins), Binham Priory (5 mins, take a picnic, the ruins are great for hide and seek, visit to the Raw Milk shop which sells coffee, local cheese and ice cream is recommended) are all nearby. There are many other National Trust properties and other attractions to visit too. Just 10 minutes away is the Warham Iron Age fort - a must for a picnic on a sunny day. There are also plenty of historic churches to visit - Binham Priory, Cley, Salthouse, Wiveton to name but a few. A paddle in Glandford ford and visit to the tiny Shell Museum, a hidden gem (check opening times as not open every day). Walking - best walks are on the beaches of Holkham, Wells, the Wells pinewoods (great for a sheltered walk on a cold windy day), the Norfolk coastal path and Peddars Way - all within easy reach. A walk from Morston to Stiffkey (1-1.5 hour) along the coastal path followed by a pub lunch is ideal. There are golf courses, farm shops and farmers markets...the list is endless. The market towns of Holt (10 mins) and Burnham Market (20mins) and the village of Cley (5 mins) are great for shopping, cafes, fish shops, a bookshop and delis. The Spar shop in Blakeney the next village is great for essential supplies and is open until 10pm most if not every day. This really is the perfect base for enjoying and exploring the beautiful north Norfolk Coast.
  • This is a perfect retreat in a fantastic quiet location, We couldn't recommend 'the shed' more highly!

    Simon2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place in the perfect location. Would highly recommend anyone looking for a coastal break heads here.

    Michael2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous little place! Great location - walking distance from a great pub and to the coastal path.

    Julia2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Fab location, 2 minutes walking distance from Morston Quay and Morston Anchor which has amazing food/drink. Close to Wells and Blakeney, lovely accommodation, lovely and warm despite staying during a storm! Beautifully comfortable beds, would stay again

    Jemma2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Susannah’s place is just beautiful - the photos really don’t do it justice. Spotlessly clean (as others have said) and perfect for a little weekend get-away. The location is really what brought us here but the cottage will keep us coming back. It was lovely and warm and oh so quiet. There is a very thoughtful welcome pack put together by susannah with recommendations for pubs, coffee shops, walks and more. We tried several and she is spot on; they were fab. A short walk across the farm and you reach a lovely little pub where you will receive a warm welcome and a delicious meal - we ate here twice. We will be back!

    Hannah2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Susannah’s cottage is beautifully decorated, very comfortable and the perfect location to explore the North Norfolk coast! Would recommend

    Abi2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay to explore North Norfolk. Made all the better by the local pub ‘The Anchor Inn’ serving great food . We will be back to do more coastal walks.

    Sarah2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • The Shed is adorably quaint, perfect for a small family or couples holiday! It was sparkling clean and comfortable, and we really really enjoyed our short stay here.

🌈 Recently featured in an article in Norfolk Magazine as one of Norfolk's top 8 Airbnb's with the following review; “If you’re fond of sand dunes and salty air you’ll love this old two-bedroomed fisherman’s cottage found just a short walk away from the shingle beach in Cley near Blakeney. The interior is whimsically decorated with lots of fun, local art on the walls. Guests talk of beautiful views across the marshland and the local deli as added perks". Also with high speed fibre optic WiFi!! ❤️
THE COTTAGE~ ⭐️Built in 1850, Mallard cottage is a two bedroom, two bathroom cottage with covered off-street parking in the heart of the village of Cley-next-the-Sea. Cley lies within the AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) and the North Norfolk Heritage Coast.🌈 🌷The master bedroom has a king sized bed, an ensuite shower room and loo and a really good view over the reed beds of Cley. The twin bedroom is a good size and a lovely room which looks over a very pretty part of the village (photographed, as is the view from the master bedroom).😍 🧚‍♂️The family bathroom is very nice and light and is also a good size, benefitting from a double ended claw foot bath. 🍎Downstairs is a fully kitted out open plan kitchen, dining and living area. There are characterful pictures and paintings all over the walls and some books and games to choose from. 🍭The house has been refurbished to a good standard and has high speed Fibre Optic WiFi and a full range of Sky channels including Sky Sports. It also benefits from double glazing and a very good, new boiler and heating system so you should be warm and cosy all year round. The cottage is the winner of a 4 star Best of Britain self-catering award. PARKING~ 🚘There is off street parking at the property which has it's own covered parking space clearly marked 'Mallard' (photographed for scale with the listing of the cottage). The turning into the arch way is very steep and the space is tight for larger vehicles so whilst Range Rover's have been known to park there (normal sized cars are fine) drivers of large vehicles who aren't comfortable 'manoeuvring' into the off street space can find plenty of parking near by. Old Post Office Lane gives pedestrian access to the Fairstead where there is free off street parking with no restrictions. There is also the Village Hall where there is a free and large off street car park with no restrictions.
Cley-next-the-Sea is one of the prettiest villages on the North Norfolk coast. It is on the River Glaven 4 mi (6 km) north-west of Holt (3 miles) and east of Blakeney (2 miles). It lies within the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the North Norfolk Heritage Coast between the villages of Wiveton and Salthouse. A few suggestions of things to do in and around Cley... The Wiveton Café is a must and is now open in winter as well having previously been solely open in spring and summer. It’s about a 15 minute walk or 3 minute drive from the cottage. Do check out their website. Artemis Cafe in Cley is always a good place from which to start a walk. turn right and right out of the cottage, it's about a 20 second walk away. They serve delicious coffee, cake, sausage rolls and salmon bagels directly behind Mallard Cottage and the famous coastal walk along the wall starts from their garden. The George in Cley does really good food, has really friendly staff and is about a two minute walk from the cottage. Picnic Fayre in Cley, less than a minute's walk from Mallard, is a fantastic deli with masses of locally sourced treats and depending on the season they serve really good homemade ice cream from a little hatch in the wall. Blakeney is about an 8 minute drive away or a beautiful hour and a bit long walk along the river wall. I never feel as if I've really had my 'Cley time' until I've done that walk. You don't need to go all the way if you're not big walkers but the look of the landscape and sky change almost hourly and and we never get bored of it. Cley beach is accessible by car (2 mins) or on foot (8-10 mins) if you turn left out of the cottage and through the village, past the windmill and you'll see signs for where to follow the path to Cley beach (also photographed with the images of the cottage). The Blakeney Hotel is probably the most 'get dressed up' place locally, although I have to admit we've never been as we never bring anything approaching the right wardrobe with us... It does look lovely and it has a good reputation and apparently stunning views. The White Horse also has a good reputation and is popular, with good food. I actually prefer the Anchor at Morston next to Blakeney. Blakeney is lovely and definitely worth a visit but it can be seriously packed with day-trippers in high season so at the risk of sounding like a snob, it's better to be a bit outside it and Cley is a much nicer place to stay... Morston and Blakeney also offer Seal trips which are really fun to do depending on the season so it's worth looking on local websites. 'Beans' seal trips is one of the companies. The Cley Smokehouse directly opposite the cottage serves amazing sea food. People travel from miles around to stock up on their crab and their fish soup so we are very lucky (it's pictured in the view from the twin room in the pics of the cottage). There are galleries and a lovely pottery and book shop in Cley, plenty of shops and galleries in Blakeney and some of the best birdwatching in Britain at Cley Spy and in Salthouse which is the next village in the other direction from Wiveton and Blakeney (turn left for Salthouse, in the same direction as you walk for the beach). There's also a great pub in Salthouse called the Dunn Cow with fantastic views across the marshes from the large garden and good food. For Bird Watchers the cutting-edge, sustainable visitor centre at Norfolk Wildlife Trust's Cley Marshes Nature Reserve is a must. It has it's own café and some of the best bird watching in the country. The Coast hopper bus has bus stops in both directions from outside Picnic Fayre (about a one minute walk from the Cottage). It runs a good and regular service although personally I prefer to walk as much as possible and everything I have mentioned is walking distance, obviously depending on what you consider walking distance to be/if you have toddlers etc. The marshes around Cley are internationally important for their populations of rare breeding and visiting birds. Cley Marshes bird reserve has been in the care of the Norfolk Wildlife Trust since 1926, making it the oldest county Wildlife Trust reserve in Britain. Among resident breeding birds are Avocet, Bearded Tit, Bittern, Marsh Harrier and Spoonbill. Winter visitors include Brent Geese, Wigeon, Pintail and many species of wading birds. Cley, like neighbouring Salthouse is ideally situated at the apex of the North Norfolk coast as a staging ground for passage migrants, vagrants and rareties of all kinds. An eco-friendly visitor centre opened in 2007 containing a café, shop, viewing areas (including viewing from a camera on the reserve), exhibition area, interpretation and toilets. The view from the visitor centre across the Marsh to the sea is breathtaking. Cley Marshes is the home of the Bird Information Service, publishers of Birding World. The shingle bank holds large numbers of Yellow Horned Poppy. The Grade I listed medieval church of St Margaret's, Cley is the largest church in the Blakeney area dating from (phone number hidden) Cley was once one of the busiest ports in England, where grain, malt, fish, spices, coal, cloth, barley and oats were exported or imported. The many Flemish gables in the town are a reminder of trade with the Low Countries. Some of the buildings that once lined the quay remain, notably the 18th-century Cley Windmill which was used as a backdrop of the 1949 film Conspirator with Elizabeth Taylor. Cley Mill has often been depicted by local artists and was the subject of a painting by the 20th century English landscape artist, Rowland Hilder. In the late 19th century Cley became a holiday resort. The poet Rupert Brooke was staying in Cley when news came that Britain had entered what was to become the First World War. Brooke had dreamt about the war and woke to find it a reality. He did not speak to his hosts all day until his host said, "But Rupert, you won't have to fight?" to which Brooke replied, "We shall all have to fight". We hope you will go ahead and book! I’m sure you’ll love Cley as we do! Melissa (✿◠‿◠)

  • Really enjoyed our stay at Mallard Cottage in January. It has lovely interior decor and was warm and cosy. Really appreciated that basic things were provided and that there was milk in the fridge on arrival. The cottage is well located - we enjoyed going for bracing coastal walks.

  • Its the second time I have stayed here and I just find it very comfortable and I love the location. There is a private parking space for the house which is very handy and it's so quiet and has everything you need, it's also stylish and homely. I would certainly stay there again. Thank you.

  • Great little find. Perfect in January as it was quiet in the village- but the coffee shops were closed for the month. That was fine for us. Dangerous deli along the road (as in REALLY nice nibbles, etc... watch out for your budget!). There is a well stocked Spar in Blankey, 2min drive. Cley marshes visitor centre was wonderful- lovely warm, interesting cafe informative centre.

  • Spend Christmas here, what a wonderful cottage in cley. Had all we needed for our two night stay if though downstairs is cosy still felt like we had enough space for 4 adults and baby. Such a quiet village this time of year felt like we were the only people there. We walked up to cley beach which was nice over the marshlands. Highly recommend.

  • Beautiful annexe, easy to find, everything was made very easy and a great breakfast :-) Thanks very much. North Norfolk is a beautiful place to stay, a credit to you both.

  • Comfortable stay in a really quiet spot. Stylish small and self contained space. Chris was a friendly yet unobtrusive host. The space has a double bed and en-suite bathroom with shower. There is a coffee machine but no tea making facilities though when we asked Chris for a cuppa after a long day walking he was kindly happy to oblige. Breakfast was yummy, sourdough toast, croissant and homemade Bircher mueslis along with orange juice and tea. It’s super quiet at night meaning you’ll get a quiet night’s sleep. Thanks for a nice stay!

  • Stone Cottage is a delightful place, very quiet and with a pretty garden. The location is excellent, very convenient to reach Holt and the lovely North Norfolk coast with its wonderful beaches and birdlife, as well as visitor attractions such as Holkham Hall, Blickling Hall and Felbrigg Hall. The accommodation was spotlessly clean, the bed comfortable and the bathroom excellent with a good shower. Christopher put two champagne glasses in the room when he knew it was my wife's birthday. Another nice touch is the small speaker which can link with mobile phones for music, etc. The breakfast was delicious. Christopher was there when we arrived to check in. He made us feel welcome and gave us some useful local information. Recommended.

  • The perfect location to explore the Norfolk Coast. Stone Cottage is cosy, classic and wonderfully caters to a couple wanting a weekend away. Comfortable and charming private cottage with everything you might need, coffee machine, a few books and own breakfast nook with Chris serving a delicious & delightfully prepared breakfast at a time you specify. Great suggestions for places to eat out. Would stay longer next time!

  • A charming host in a quaint idyllic setting. We stayed there to attend Thursford Christmas Spectacular and it was ideally located. Breakfast was spot on and check in was straight forward. Can't recommend highly enough.

  • Our stay at Stone Cottage was pleasant and relaxing. The breakfast was delicious and we loved the small and thoughtful touches in the room. We had a lovely time and would stay again when we are back in Norfolk.

Tree Top View is a reverse living detached Eco house with views. Built 2016 down the end of a private road having views over woodlands, yet a 10 min walk to the blue flag beach & town. It has 2 large bedrooms downstairs, 2 bathrooms & parking. Upstairs has vaulted open plan lounge/kitchen/diner with a wood burner & Juliet balcony. Sheringham is a lovely seaside town on the Norfolk coastal path/Deep history coast with theatre, steam train/mainline train, leisure pool, golf course & more.
Upside down living. Downstairs has two good size bedrooms, one having a king size bed and the other two single beds which can be zip and linked together for one super king bed. Both having T.V.'s in the room. A travel cot can be provided upon request. Also downstairs is a high pressure shower, WC and basin and a washing machine. Upstairs has a lounge/kitchen/diner which has a wood burner, by-fold doors with a Juliet balcony opening onto a Tree Top View, TV with Free-sat, DVD player and CD player. Upstairs also has a double ended bath, with mixer taps and shower hose to rinse your hair, a WC and basin. The property is eco friendly and has under Floor heating, MHRV system to circulate the air, PV solar panels on the roof heat the hot water and provide electricity during the day and a rainwater harvesting system that collects rainwater and uses it to flush the downstairs toilet and feed the washing machine. The property Borders onto Sheringham and Beeston Common, an area of SSSI (Site of Special Scientific interest) which means you can watch the wildlife from the upstairs sitting room or step outside and you are there! At the end of the road (2 min walk or less) is a bus stop connecting both along the coast and inland, plus the mainline train is only a 10 min walk which can take you to the broads, Norwich, London and beyond.
The beach and town are both about a 10-15 minute walk or the bus stop is a 2 minute walk away which takes you to town, beyond and in the opposite direction. Sheringham is a lovely seaside town life with traditional fisherman's boats still in use, a steam train, theatre, fitness centre, swimming pool with and golf course right on the sea cliff edge with breathtaking views. We are located great for bird/wildlife watching, both here on Beeston & Sheringham Common site of SSSI (which the property looks onto) and at Cley-next-the-sea, just a short picturesque drive along the coast. Scenic drive/bus rides along the coast take you to some tranquil Norfolk villages where you have lots of walks and great places to eat. Sheringham train station links us to the surrounding area including Cromer and the fine city of Norwich. One change at Norwich see's you arriving in London, no transport is not a problem. You can walk to some lovely restaurants in Sheringham and of course have a good selection of seaside Fish and Chips on offer.
  • We had a lovely stay at Tree Top View and can't wait to come back. The space and location is perfect and we really enjoyed seeing all the wildlife out of the window! Charlotte was really helpful, thoughtful and quick to reply.

  • This a fabulous place to stay. Previous reviewers have said it all before, but Charlotte is a fantastic host. The house is a joy to stay in; it is in a wonderful location, spotlessly clean and very comfortable and well equipped. We highly recommend this as a place to stay.

    Caroline2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • We visited in mid January and Charlotte’s place was warm, cosy and perfectly located for country and coastal walking, as well as delicious meals in the town and in nearby villages. The accommodation itself is unique in its architecture and homely. We enjoyed spending time watching birds from the large windows or relaxing in the lounge doing a jigsaw and watching tv. Easy to walk into sheringham town or drive 15 minutes to the Dun Cow in Saltmarsh. Good nights sleep in comfy beds.

Garden cottage stands with the Bolt Hole in row of buildings forming part of a small group of old farmworkers’ cottages. It has been carefully renovated to retain its original character, whilst providing contemporary accommodation. The en-suite bedroom can be organised as a double or twin. Downstairs is the cosy living space with log burner to keep you warm when the north wind blows - and does it blow! Superbly renovated - but please note the original staircase has been retained, so it is narrow and steep!

Bird Box is a traditional Norfolk 'brick and flint' cottage which has recently been restored to reflect modern living whilst retaining its Victorian character.
Bird Box cottage is set in a little Square tucked behind Byfords Holt's landmark restaurant/deli . You'll be in the very heart of Holt with all the local shops and restaurants a stroll away. The cottage is a one bedroom Victorian terrace which has recently been sympathetically and lovingly restored.
Holt is a unique town with scores of independent shops and mouthwatering eateries. Bakers and Larners department store is a local landmark and its incredible food hall won the coveted National Food and Farming Award for best deli in 2019. The Black Apollo coffee shop is 'small but perfectly formed' and produce their own unique blends and roasts of coffee. If you like clothes you'll love Holt with boutiques brimming with treasures for your wardrobe! Holt is also very canine friendly and recently, 'Woofers and Barkers' a shop catering especially for our four legged chums opened on the High Street for the 'top dogs' in town.
  • Bird Box is a delightful little cottage in the centre of Holt. Despite it’s proximity to the shops it is peaceful and quiet. There were many lovely and thoughtful touches that the owner had left for me. I really enjoyed my stay and hope to return. Thank you.

It would not be suitable for low slung sports cars! There is a paved patio and parking area to the rear with garden furniture. French doors giving access to the cottage. To the front is a paved area..
Surrounding area St Nicholas Cottage in Norfolk (photo 4) The area surrounding the cottage is beautiful with the church to the rear. Walks can be had directly from the house, to the sea, salt marshes or up into the lanes. The charm of the house is its peace and quiet and the views. It is perfect in any season for anyone wanting a real getaway to bird watch, write, paint or just relax. The Dun Cow is a short walk away which serves excellent food. Cookies Crab Shop, made famous when Rick Stein visited is again just a short walk away. There is a village shop in Salthouse selling basics and beef from the marshes. The Coasthopper bus comes through the village regularly giving public transport access along the whole coastline, if you want to leave your car behind. Salthouse is right on the coast and is next door to Cley famous for the RSPB bird reserve. The cottage will give you front row seats for the Autumn migration..
  • We are at a loss for words to describe how wonderful this cottage and the whole experience has been...! Simply delightful and a cottage where literally every eventuality has been thought about! I cannot be more complimentary to the owners and operators for providing us with a magical weekend break....we shall be back and will be driving our friends into St Nicholas's cottage as well. Thank you so much Dan & Mol

  • My third time here, and as lovely as ever. Of all the places I've stayed in through Airbnb, this one keeps bringing me back as much for the location as for the cottage itself, which immediately feels like home every time. Cleverly decorated and fitted out in a way that feels cosy and personal without suggesting someone else's taste; and the panoramic window in the living room gives a stunning backdrop to a lovely bright space. Great communication as ever from Penny - many thanks!

    Michael2019-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely spacious cottage, with great views of the sea, quiet location and excellent local pub.

    Gideon2019-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time in St Nicholas cottage and it was even lovelier than we remembered. The living room with its wraparound windows must be one of the sweetest spots in Norfolk - glorious in all weathers. We'll definitely visit here again - it's an ideal spot. And Salthouse itself has been much improved since our last visit by the opening of a really cute village shop and cafe a short walk from the cottage.

  • Marlpit Cottage was absolutely lovely. Really stylish and well thought through cottage. The kids absolutely loved their bedrooms with the quirky bunk beds and additional loft space for them to hide in. Garden is also lovely, big and mature. Location excellent for both the beach or the heath (with great views). Norfolk Holiday Properties were also amazing to deal with - super quick, helpful and friendly.

  • We had a lovely stay, the weather was amazing which helped. The cottage is perfectly situated in Salthouse just off the Coast Rd so rural walks one way and wonderful beach walks the other. The accommodation is stylish with some great art and quirky touches. The kitchen is well equipped and everything was clean and well organised. The bunk beds are indeed high and not recommended if elderly, they were fine for us and very comfortable. The garden is a lovely bonus. We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend. Thank you.

  • We had a fabulous stay in this lovely barn conversion. It was in a wonderful location, just a short walk from the beautiful beach in Weybourne. The accommodation itself was excellent and the photos, although lovely, really don't do it justice! We particularly enjoyed the log burner after our windy beach walks. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing stay in a stunning barn conversion.

Early check in. Late check out. My place is close to the wonderful North Norfolk Coast. It is a lovely, airy modern apartment in the beautiful, historic Georgian market town of Holt which is brimming with interesting and eclectic shops and eateries. It is within 5 miles of the sea. The apartment is perfect for solo adventurers and couples but can also accommodate a third person as there is a sofa bed in the lounge. Furry friends (pets) welcome as there is access to a garden and private deck.
A light, modern apartment which is entirely self-contained with its own front door. The large lounge leads on to a fully equipped modern kitchen. The shower room is located in the large double bedroom and any third guest would need to appreciate this. The garden is south facing and very well maintained. Perfect for pets and their owners who enjoy the sun.
A unique apartment, in a quiet setting, but within minutes of the town centre. It can be used as a perfect base from which to explore and enjoy this outstanding part of the country with its breath-taking coastline and stunning sandy beaches, as well as the opportunities to have fun closer to home by discovering the range of eclectic shops and restaurants that are only minutes away
  • Comfortable property in a good location the heart of Holt in Norfolk. The house offers everything for your needs and the host was very generous providing all the supplies for when you first arrive.

  • Wonderful stay with a fabulous host. The Flat is impeccable and the garden a real delight. The place was spotlessly clean and we were warmly greeted by Jane with lovely additional touches like bread, milk, eggs , jam and croissants and chewy treats for our dog. Close to town yet in a quiet space , what more could you ask for . We would highly recommend Tracey, Paul and Wilfred

  • A great place to stay in Holt. There is plenty of space for two with a large kitchen and big living room which opens out onto a deck area and garden. The house is full of individual and 'quirky' little design features which make it fun and unique. There is a good selection of books, DVDs and CDs if you need some entertainment on a rainy day. Or its a 10 minute walk into town for a bit of shopping, a coffee and cake or a meal. There was a fresh loaf of bread, butter, jam and milk waiting for us and plenty of tea and coffee - which means you can move in and start to relax straight away. Definitely recommended.

  • A fantastic find in Holt, a stone's throw from all the local shops and pubs. It's set off the road and in a quiet area that looks over a nice garden, and the space itself is brilliant and spacious - with a wood burner and cosy underfloor heating making it ideal for the winter. The Annex has been done up really well with two great bathrooms and a well stocked kitchen. Great communal areas with huge sofas and loads of floor space - ideal if you have a baby or toddler like us. The main bedroom was huge and the king bed extremely comfy and very large. The second room is much smaller but ideal for a cot or for one/two children (there are two decent single beds). The whole place has been decorated really well, with nice touches everywhere - from books to local info and games. Wifi works, there's private off-street parking, and the hosts Toby and Zoe are great, providing guests with a little hamper of essentials such as tea, crisps, local apple juice, bread rolls, milk, biscuits etc etc. Would definitely recommend anyone looking for a place in Holt near the Norfolk coast.

Shell Cottage, a charming period Grade II listed brick and flint cottage with sea views is situated in the heart of the historic coastal village of Blakeney, a moments walk from the famous Quay. Perfect for couples or small groups the property has been furnished to the highest standard. This spacious retreat is perfect for couples or a family of three wishing to relax and enjoy the natural wonders of North Norfolk as well as Blakeney’s traditional pubs, restaurants and boutique stores.
The stylish open plan living space incorporates a sitting room bathed in natural light with a traditional and sympathetically restored sash window to the front aspect. You will also find a cast iron wood burning stove, comfortable dining table and sofa as well as a bookcase filled with a collection of good reading material. The property benefits from an array of traditional features reflecting its period character which are complimented by the use of traditional materials and Farrow & Ball paint. The newly fitted integrated kitchen brings the cottage up to date consisting of a Bosch electric oven with halogen hob, fridge, washing machine, Russell Hobbs appliances, wooden work tops and quarry tiles. The large modern bathroom includes a full sized bath and superb ‘rain style’ shower head as well as under floor heating. Leading from the sitting room you will find an easily accessible wide staircase which takes you onto a hallway where the bedrooms are accessed. Bedroom one is a beautifully decorated dual aspect double bedroom with coastal views over neighbouring rooftops and also has a cast iron fireplace. Bedroom two is a lovely single bedroom providing comfortable accommodation for children or adults. Outside, this beautiful cottage benefits from a small outbuilding to store and dry wetsuits, bikes, crabbing gear, fishing rods, wellington boots or other such items. Sitting at the end of one of the prettiest lokes in the stunning and well maintained desirable coastal village of Blakeney, 55 High Street is perfectly situated to visit all year round. For those who love walking or bird watching, the cottage provides easy access to the famous coastal path and salt marshes as well as the famous Quayside. For foodies or those simply seeking pure relaxation, the cottage is surrounded by traditional pubs, restaurants and delicatessen of this historic North Norfolk village. We are eager to make sure everything is done to make your stay in our cottage as enjoyable as possible. We own and manage this property from our base in the neighbouring village of Stiffkey so we will be on hand to offer any help or advice you may need. Outside and garden To the front of the property there is lovely antique bench with a beautiful table and chairs to enjoy the sunshine with a glass of wine or fresh coffee from the local delicatessen. Testimonial: Alan & Jill from Derbyshire - Really lovely cottage. Great location. Perfect for our needs. The only regret is that we could not stay longer. We will certainly return, it is just a matter of when!
Surrounding area Blakeney must be one of the most sought after coastal villages in North Norfolk. The whole coastal area, much of it owned by The National Trust, is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, attracting both sailing enthusiasts and ornithologists. The village retains a unique atmosphere with many of the old mariners’ and merchants’ houses remaining in its narrow streets with others tucked away in flint walled alleyways. The main street runs down to the Quay with its salt marsh and channels, with Blakeney Point beyond. There is a surprisingly wide selection of shops, public houses and hotels. A wider range of amenities can be found in the Georgian town of Holt, about 5 miles to the south.
  • Shell Cottage is exactly as described. It was perfectly clean and Michelle is brilliant at keeping in touch. You can normally get a response with an hour. If it’s any guide, we are going back again once this global madness is over.

  • Fantastic in one of our favourite spots - Thankyou for the Norfolk wine and liga etc for the fire!

  • We enjoyed a last minute 2 night stay at Shell Cottage. The location was great (Blakeney is an excellent base), the cottage small but perfect, just right for a couple or 3 people and very good value. It was spotlessly clean and communication with Michelle was excellent. I would definitely recommend to others.

  • We loved staying here and found the whole place to be really comfortable and relaxing. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen well equipped, everything has been thought of. Stuart was a great host, quick to respond and very hospitable. The only thing that was a very minor shame was the fact that the kitchen windows didn't open (or at least we couldn't get them to open) to let some air in after cooking but that's all. Really recommend this place and will definitely be coming back in Spring.

Welcome. Kiln Cottage, Blakeney, is our family home which we would like you to enjoy. It is the perfect location for a holiday or short stay capturing the magical beauty and tranquillity of the North Norfolk coast without having to use the car. This modern cottage, built to traditional Norfolk flint pebble design, is just a moment’s walk from wildlife, the coastal path, the village harbour, shops and eateries while offering total peace and quiet. Parking for two cars. Discount for 7 nights plus
The accommodation downstairs offers comfort and style in a tasteful, relaxing, light and airy environment. The porch leads into a hall with downstairs toilet and stairs to the left and a door to the right into a modern, well-equipped and open plan kitchen leading into a light and airy open plan living area. This leads further into a conservatory and protected courtyard garden. There is a large private lawn in front with parking for two cars. Kiln Cottage is one of four homes built three years ago to a high spec including underfloor heating downstairs and central heating with radiators upstairs, but we retain all the character of a modern and efficient cottage. There is wood-burning stove too. The cottage offers two good sized double bedrooms with built-in wardrobes, bedside table and lamps. The property is in a secluded location with all the conveniences you would expect in a modern home. The fully fitted kitchen has all appliances and storage you need including oven, hob and extractor, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and microwave and an island unit. It will appeal to families, couples and friends who are looking for a peaceful, rural environment where the car can be abandoned while you relax in one of the best birdwatching areas of Britain or visit the colony of 500 plus harbour and grey seals on Blakeney Point. And it is within striking distance of other beautiful coastal villages.
Blakeney is an historic fishing village, one of the jewels of North Norfolk’s unspoilt coast half-way between Cromer and King’s Lynn. It is a haven for ornithologists, artists, walkers and families whose children may want to try 'crab-catching' where they tempt the crabs to come out and play on the quay. Blakeney has a bustling harbour, rowing association and sailing club. The facilities in the house mean you can self-cater or eat out at any number of excellent venues in Blakeney or nearby with stunning seaviews on your doorstep. Blakeney Point is a three - mile spit of sand dunes and shingle with uninterrupted views of the landscape, seascape and 180 degrees of skyline. Walking the spit provides the opportunity to watch wildlife close up with its colonies of breeding Terns and England's largest colony of harbour and grey seals. The coastal path heading East or West heads through unspoilt salt marshes and hundreds of varieties of birds, many of which stop over on their migrations.
  • I took my parents for their first ever AirBnB experience to celebrate my father's birthday and the cottage did not disappoint. Lovely home, clean, well stocked with everything we needed and a great location to access everything we wanted to do along the coastline easily. Lawrence was great with quick responses and checking we had all we needed. The experience has certainly won my parents over and we hope to use the cottage again. Many thanks L & S for helping us have such a lovely Norfolk break. L

    Lauren2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was very clean, comfortable and quiet. Lawrence was very helpful and responded to any questions. It’s a great location for amenities such as supplies at the local Spar (2 minutes walk) and eateries. Also visited a few galleries. We popped into the local coffee shop a few times which was very relaxing. We walked from the cottage along the front to Morston, stopped for lunch then back again to Cley, again stopping for coffee and cake, before walking back to Blayney. Although the weather was very windy it was still nice to get out and walk and lovely to see the great expanse of sky. We walked along Blakeney quay a few times in the evening after eating. On our last day we visited Warham Camp Iron Age Fort after a delicious lunch in the local 3 horse shoes. In all, we had a very relaxing break.

    Loretta2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • This delightful cottage was our first air BNB in the UK and only our second ever. Lawrence is a super host and now we understand why. Communications from start to finish were speedy and extremely helpful. On arrival we saw immediately that the photos and description did not lie. The cottage is immaculate, clean and stylish but also very comfortable. It is in a great location in Blakeney only a couple of minutes walk from the Quay but very quiet. Lawrence is very knowledgeable about the area and leaves his guests good tips for sightseeing and places to eat and shop . On arrival we found that we had been left a bottle of wine and some delicious biscuits as well as tea coffee milk etc together with a good supply of condiments and staples. There are books and games for guest use too as well as a wood burning stove. If you want to cook the kitchen is well supplied with pots pans utensils etc. We can confirm too that the cottage is cosy in winter weather. We plan to return and would definitely recommend both Lawrence and the cottage itself.

  • Thank you so much for our wonderful stay in Blakeney. The house was beautiful and had everything we could have wanted. The location was amazing just a short walk into the centre of the village and all the brilliant amenities it offers. The information provided by Lawrence really helped make our stay special as we managed to do all the best things in the limited time we had. We will absolutely be returning!

  • Just back from a 3 night new year stay with our 2 daughters at Kiln Cottage. This is the probably the best holiday cottage that we have stayed in – immaculate, beautifully furnished yet cosy, and so many thoughtful extras which made for a very relaxing break. The location of the property is excellent - steps from the coast path and with off-road access to the nearby pub. Lawrence is incredibly helpful and accommodating, and a font of all knowledge on the delights of the local area. We cannot wait to return. Thanks for everything Lawrence and Sally x

A cosy single a storey retreat with open plan living space and fabulous, spacious garden. The first of our barn conversions, but still a long term favourite of our regular visitors. With easy access to the best parts of North Norfolk - and plenty of nearby walks for dog lovers and bird watchers too. The Bolt Hole is set away from our other barns in a separate part of the village – good for grandparents who want to be close-by but not on top of children and grand children! Please note the bathroom has no shower – just a bath

Bramble Lodge offers self-catering, cosy holiday accommodation for two people and dogs in the heart of the North Norfolk coast. Relax and enjoy majestic landscapes, breathtaking walks and the pleasures of coastal life in Blakeney. Whether it’s bird watching, rambling or simply some time out by the sea, the Annex offers the perfect base to unwind and explore the joys of coast. Bramble Lodge has shared ample parking, a private patio and is only a short walk from Blakeney Quay, pubs and shops.
Comfortable accommodation for two and is well-equipped with all modern facilities and has distant views of the Marsh from the bedroom. The private patio is secure for dogs as it has a fence all round with a gated entrance.
Blakeney lies on the North Norfolk coast where the River Glaven meets the sea. Blakeney Point is a 4 mile long shingle-sand spit that is home to numerous migrating birds and a large seal colony. Sheltered by the Point and banked by salt marshes, ‘the Pit’ is the silted up estuary of the River Glaven where the current Blakeney Quay channel flows into. Prior to silting up, Blakeney used to be one of the busiest medieval ports in the country. Now it is a picturesque coastal village that offers numerous opportunities to view the local wildlife and stunning landscapes. Whether it’s walking, bird watching, sailing, a boat trip to the Point or simply enjoying local village shops, pubs and restaurants, Blakeney has something for everybody and is enjoyable all year round.

  • We had a great time staying at Rum Bar. Comfy bed, nice bathroom and a good space to relax in after tramping up and down the North Norfolk Coast. MIchael was a great host, available when we arrived and responded very quickly the one time we bothered him. There really wasn't any need, we had everything we wanted. I'd go to Salthouse again and I'd stay in Rum Bar again. PS. Local pub has great food. We also visited Blakeney, Wells and Cley, all good.
