Stone Cottage in Grounds of a 16th-Century Castle

The cottage sits on the grounds of a castle dating back to 1543 offering an authentic stay. The interior retains a decor that matches the historic charm of the area with modern comforts added and a shared pool in the stunning gardens outside. This is our smallest cottage and cannot take an additional bed or cot. The other cottages are all larger and can do this. All 3 cottages can be rented separately or together. They are in the grounds of a 16th century castle with beautiful gardens and large swimming pool enclosed by stone walls. The lower salon and summer kitchen in the main chateau is available to share. Access is by the side garden gate and all cottages are accessed by stone steps- sadly not suitable for wheelchairs. We will most likely be present living in the main Chateau and available to help and advise about restaurants and things to do in the area. We will share the pool and gardens. The old village is in a beautiful part of France that is has retained its iconic beauty through the centuries and still feels untouched by modern life in many places. Experience true local dining and bakeries with scenic walking trails all around. parking is in the church square below the Chateau. There is a local taxi service in the village and bus service to Avignon, Banyols sur Ceze and Uzes but car hire is recommended. We are 20 minutes from Avignon TGV rail station and about an hour from Marseille, Nimes or Montpellier airports. The cottages are completely private and tranquil.

Décoration soignée, cuisine équipée avec lave vaisselle et plaques induction, salle de bain, lave linge, extérieur privatif avec table, chaises et transats. Stationnement aisé et gratuit dans l'impasse à coté du logement. Sentiers de randonnée aux alentours. Arrêt de bus à 400 m. Commerces dans le centre du village.

Located near Avignon, Nîmes, Pont du Gard, Anduze, Alès, Saint Quentin la Potterie... very well placed for sightseeing as for beautiful hikes in the countryside or climbing in the rocks of our village ( site la beaume des gaulois) Very close, Dions, Collias or the jumpadet, the Pont du Gard are water points to cool off in and very beautiful to visit.

Bergerie de Cassagne Gîte

The cottage is located in a small typical Gard village around Uzès. Beautiful stone village, on a hill, built around its church. On the heights of the village, just behind the cottage, you will have a beautiful view of the Cévennes for the sunset from the 11th century chapel. The building is part of a larger complex, an old sheepfold, the sheepfold of Cassagne, named after the last shepherd of the property.

I am renting out a spacious 300 m² village house located in Gaujac in the Gard region, within a vineyard producing Côtes du Rhône. You will be close to the Duchy of Uzès and Pont du Gard (20 minutes), the Cité des Papes d'Avignon (30 minutes) and the ancient city of Nîmes (40 minutes). The seaside resorts of Grau du Roi, La Grande Motte and Port Camargues are 1 hour drive away.
