Gorgeous Gothic Church, tastefully converted into a 6 bedroom house, with stunning original features, sleeps 17 (a few more with a squash)! In a peaceful village, 2 miles from the historic Cathedral City of Wells, Bath and Bristol - 30 mins. PLEASE NOTE: 1) Price listed is for 16 guests. Welcome to this magical part of Somerset, only 3 miles from Glastonbury festival site! From quiet family get-togethers to grand house parties – the Gothic Church is a unique and fun modern party venue for all occasions and will ensure wonderful memories of your special celebrations. Built in 1838 the Old Gothic Church stands in the sleepy village of East Horrington, 2 miles from Wells, Britain’s smallest city (it has a Cathedral, therefore it’s a city!) offering good shopping facilities as well as restaurants and pubs, a cinema, churches of most denominations, together with open-air markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Wells is making a name for itself as a film location, the most recent productions which have been filmed here are “The Libertine” starring Johnny Depp, the hit movie Hot Fuzz and the second film about Queen Elizabeth 1st called “The Golden Age” starring Cate Blanchett. The Gothic Church is a fine example of early Victorian sacred architecture and has been recently renovated to the highest of modern standards. It is now a unique and fun party venue for private celebrations offering sumptuous living and working spaces and rooms with individual interiors. Entering via the immense vaulted atrium you’ll find three downstairs bedrooms, one bathroom and one shower room and a fully-equipped 44ft kitchen/breakfast room. There are also stunning spaces for optional spa/pamper sessions. Ascending the open-plan double staircase you will find on one side of the atrium the spectacular banqueting gallery with its three original stained glass windows. On the other side are three further bedrooms, another shower room and the spacious Chancel living room with its central glass wood-burning stove and impressive Gothic windows, with views as far as the mystical Glastonbury Tor and the Isle of Avalon. Outside is a private decked courtyard complete with indoor hot tub and seating area. There is off-road parking for 3 cars with additional parking available further down the lane.
Spa and pampering sessions: You can book external treatments direct with Thermae Bath Spa (in Bath), or we can help you arrange for local qualified therapists to visit and treat you at The Gothic Church. Countryside activities – The Mendip hills are a beautiful part of England where you can find activities to suit everyone. From peaceful walks, golf or horse-riding to more unusual sports such as clay-pigeon shooting, hot-air ballooning, karting, rock climbing and 4×4 off-roading Eating In: You can plan to cook your own party meals to be enjoyed in the atmospheric banqueting gallery. If cooking is not your forte, you could select a local take-away to deliver, or arrange delicious catered meals by high quality chefs; delivered, served and cleared away – all great options and none needing taxis! Eating Out: There is a wealth of local restaurants and cafes to choose from in Wells as you wander through the picturesque streets.
  • This. Place. is. AMAZING! 14 of us stayed here for my best friend's Hen Party. It was honestly better than I could have ever imagined. If you are planning a hen or big group getaway, THIS IS YOUR PLACE! It is SO COOL! And unique and amazing. It's absolutely huge and to have so much space with such a big group is really important - we totally didn't feel on top of eachother at all. The space is VAST. Lots of fridge space and eating space and everything you need to do big meals etc. Everything was spotless when we arrived, which must be difficult with such a huge place so credit to the cleaner!! We decorated the place with things we could tie with string, as they specify to not use cellotape / blue tac or anything which was absolutely fine. Plenty of things to tie balloons etc to, with string. The beds are actually incredibly comfortable as well! We bought a speaker with us to play music and had lots of fun and dancing in the kitchen. We were concious of noise but were able to have lots of singing and dancing, within reason! On the Saturday night we got a minibus (would reccommend SouthWest Minibuses) into Bristol to go for dinner and cocktails. It is worth noting that the drive into Bristol is about 45-50 minutes, rather than 35 mins which I think is in the AirBnb description. The hot tub in the shed in the garden is LUSH. It's lovely and big. We had about 8 of us in there at one point. Was lovely to sit in there with the door open to let fresh air in. It was a bit disappointing that when we arrived, the housekeeper told us it was too cold for us to go in but that it would warm up for the evening, however when we checked it in the evening it still wasn't warm enough for us to get in. I told the housekeeper and within minutes the maintenance man came round (which is incredible - thank you!) and he said there was a technical fault that morning so it didn't have time to heat up in time. It just meant we couldn't use it on the first day, but that was fine as we were too busy chatting and dancing anyway! By Saturday morning it was absolutely perfect. The maintenance man & housekeeper were just a phone call / text away and were very helpful (the heating went off at one point and they helped us fix it right away). James, the host, was excellent in the run up to our stay. Really good communication with lots of advice and answered all my questions. This place literally made the hen weekend. Wish we could go back and do it all again! Thank you so much to the team @ The Old Church!

  • A great house really good location and very warm and comfortable great for families and large groups. Very smooth check in and good communication during booking would highly recommend and would defiantly stay again good parking outside and around the house

  • We spent NYE at James' place and it was amazing. The building itself was unreal (probably better than the photos) and the location was really easy to get to from London and also a great base for a nice country walk - Especially when there is a hot tub to come back to! The house was so spacious and fully equipped for 16 people to relax, have dinner and sleep. Check-in and all comms were really easy between James and Ewa and they provided everything we needed to know upfront. Overall, we all had a fantastic time and would really recommend it to groups wanting a weekend outside of the city. Thank you James and Ewa!

  • The Gothic Church is a fantastic place for a group of friends, with lots of bedrooms and communal areas. We loved the lounge room with the fireplace, the big kitchen, and the mezzanine with a table that could seat us all for group meals. The booking process was simple and James was very accommodating and helpful with local recommendations. There are some lovely country walks and local pubs nearby.

  • Stayed here for my sister’s hen do and it was perfect for it! Great location and James gave us lots of ideas of things to do nearby. The church itself was beautiful and had everything we needed. Thanks very much!

  • We had such a lovely weekend stay at The Gothic Church, a perfect space for friends or family to stay. The church is super clean, inviting, beautifully decorated and in the cutest of villages with a fab pub a nice walk away. James and Ewa are great communicators and made it super easy to find things about about the area, and how to get in and out of the church. The hot tub was a fab addition, which was lovely and relaxing and a whole lot of fun. I totally recommend staying at The Gothic Church for a relaxing weekend with friends, or family or as a base to the amazing surrounding village and towns. :-)

  • We have just got home after the most brilliant weekend at the Old Vicarage. There was plenty of room for 21 of us, and we loved the hot tub! Everything was exactly as advertised and more! We arranged a caterer to come and cook for us on the Saturday night, so we could make the most of the fabulous kitchen and dining table. Harriet was so helpful and gave loads of brilliant information about the local area etc. I’m already trying to think of an excuse to come back!

    Katie2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The Old Vicarage was the perfect location for our friend group to gather over New Years. The house is spacious- plenty of room for the 8 couples and two children on our mini-holiday to spread out during the day for work, naps, cooking, and privacy. In addition to being an amazing property, the surrounding village, local pub (The Oakhill Inn) and surrounding attractions were an unexpected value-add, making our trip that much more memorable. Harriet is an excellent host!

The Coach House is only around five minutes walk to everywhere you could need or want for a weekend away: historic buildings, lovely shops, places to eat and drink. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly everywhere we went. The accommodation was warm, cosy, kitchen really easy to use, comfortable living room. Even in the bad weather, it was nice to look out into the courtyard. Staircase was very easy to climb. Lovely bathroom with easy-to-use shower, and really comfortable beds with plenty of space in the bedrooms for luggage and clothes. There was a hairdryer, ironing board and iron on the landing too, so you didn't have to hunt for them. The hosts were very thoughtful, greeted us when we arrived and made it clear we could contact them at any time if we needed anything, but they'd already thought of everything! Thank you again for a wonderful stay.

  • I cannot recommend the Manor or our hosts highly enough. The house is absolutely stunning - even bigger and grander than expected - the perfect setting for a rainy retreat to the country. Maryam and Emma both responded to all of my queries before and during the weekend with lightening speed and their recommendations were spot on. Can’t fault this place at all, an AirBnb gem - get booking!

    Elizabeth2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Just echoing other reviews - the place is absolutely stunning and pictures can't do it justice. I had my 30th birthday weekend here with 15 of my friends and it was wonderful. We also had a welcome bottle of prosecco and flowers waiting for us, which was a great touch. Maryam was very quick in replying and accommodating. Amazing place and location! Highly recommended!

    Oana2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most amazing time at Maryam’s house; we were a family of 8 adults and 5 teenagers (and 2 dogs!) and had plenty of space for everyone to relax since they were coming from Brazil and Portugal. The house is even better then the photos and both Maryam and Emma were incredibly helpful and provided us with best local knowledge of places to go, restaurants and pubs. Thank you and we can’t wait to be back in the Summer!

    Andrea2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • The house is beautiful. Both Emma and Maryam were so helpful in making sure we had everything we needed for the most special Christmas. The kitchen was perfect for cooking and we had so much space. The children had the most wonderful time and we brought our dog who also loved it. The hot tub was brilliant and the games room. We didn't leave the house at all there was no need. Plenty of showers and bathrooms it's really great for large groups. The hosts went above and beyond to make it so festive with two Christmas trees and lots of festive decorations. Everyone loved the house and would definitely recommend it.

    Annie2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful property! More than I expected, you could tell it was well looked after, very clean and had beautiful touches for Christmas. Also met with a big bottle of Prosecco which was nice. Would love to go back again in the summer time but definitely a great option to go for a nice weekend away with friends.

This unique little hidden gem in Somerset, is all you need for a cosy break away from it all, be it summer and enjoying the rural scenery or thriving towns of Frome, Wells, Cheddar or Bath, or a cosy winter break with hot chocolates by the log burner, book a little bit of peace in Le Shed, where you will be warmly welcomed. Breakfast is included!
Le Shed, in Somerset, is a unique bolt hole for a couple or single to get away from it all, nestled within our garden in the valley of the river Frome. The space is a converted coal and tool shed. Dating in origin to 1913
Our property is in the old part of the Mendip mining village of Coleford, Somerset, with a huge network of local walks to lovely country pubs. You can borrow maps and walking tour books. The village has a local Co op shop and post office at the top of the village. There is a local traditional somerset pub serving local cider where a pint can be enjoyed in the beer garden, (cash only.) We also have a doctors surgery should the need arise.
  • I was looking for a rural getaway for my boyfriend's birthday and didn't book in until relatively last minute. If you're looking for a cosy, romantic getaway, this definitely ticks the boxes. Lovely touches and cosy bed with an amazing log burner. It may be small but perfect for a couples getaway. Jane is a wonderful host and so friendly.

And the log burner a perfect added bonus! She even gave us a plant based alternative breakfast, thanks again Jane. We will definitely be visiting again. Tom and Jess x

  • We booked a last minute weekend stay with our two children (aged 7 and 5). Right from the start Julie was quick to reply to messages and was extremely helpful. The house is spotlessly clean and is really well equipped. A beautiful location and a great base for visiting lots of lovely places nearby. The hot tub was just amazing. We will definitely look to return. Highly recommended

    Caroline2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Julie was a wonderful hostess. Prompt, professional and down to earth. Happy to give us the down low on local sights to see and even happy to post something I left back to me when I hadn’t even realised i’d forgotten it!

    Alex2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely weekend here, lovely and clean. The underfloor heating was really nice, and hot tub amazing! Loved the stream at the bottom of garden. Thank you 😊

    Lily2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Just utterly perfect . Peaceful setting . You provide a warmth and comfort you would never get in a hotel . Your discrete hosting was appreciated .. allowing us to enjoy our break together but knowing you were there for our needs .. will be making this our yearly get together . Thankyou also for special touches . Thankyou

    Rachel2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Julie is a wonderful host and communicator. The directions were spot on. The property is absolutely pristine. So, so clean and sparkling. So many elegant and thoughtful touches, really made us feel at home. The beds were one of the comfyest I've ever stayed in! And the hot tub, well, just the perfect addition. Thank you so much. You have a beautiful place.

    Claire2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The photos of this place don't do justice to the quality of the finish, it really is a gorgeous place. The underfloor heating was so great for the cold days and kept the place so cosy. The kitchen has everything you could need - and the host left us fresh bread, butter and milk which was lovely. There are also robes and toiletries which are such nice touches. The hot tub is AMAZING - very big and goes up to 40 degrees, we were in there on very cold nights and it was perfect. Lastly it was spotlessly clean, and the host was so warm and friendly. Highly highly recommend this place, we will definitely stay here again :)

    Helen2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay at Julie's place. We are 2 adults and 2 children and slept very comfortably and had ample space to relax and play. Julie met us to check in and went through all we needed to know. Very friendly family and cute dog. We were greeted with some basic food essentials and home made mince pies. The kitchen has everything you need - we didn't cool much as we were out a lot but it is very well equipped (and modern). The living space has two sofas and a TV with Netflix on - an essential for our little ones. The bi fold doors lead onto the balcony over looking a lovely stream at the bottom of the garden. The hot tub was huge! A firm favourite with my oldest son in the morning. Be sure to check the rules for using. Small details like given robes to use and extra towels makes this air BnB accomodation a cut above the rest. Bedrooms were super comfortable - I have a real bad back so it is unusual to sleep so well. Ensuite in the double bedroom and another bathroom in the living room. Very modern bathrooms and powerful showers. Thanks for a lovely stay - would love to return maybe in the summer to appreciate the outside space more.

  • Debbie has to be one of the best and nicest hosts I’ve dealt with on Airbnb. From booking to exit, everything was seamless. The apartment itself is stunning, spotlessly clean & very comfortable. We only stayed for a night to attend a funeral in nearby Wells but Debbie met us at midnight to check us in and gave us detailed directions. Thoughtful touches were provided such as breakfast, extra blankets, shampoo and shower gel. Debbie is obviously passionate about her beautiful home and I would recommend this property wholeheartedly. Thank you Debbie and all the best.

  • Welcoming, friendly and accommodating. Just 3 words to describe our Superhost Rebecca. We were invited to attend a wedding near Glastonbury at the weekend and after searching Airbnb a few weeks ago,I came across Rebecca's cottage listing. So glad we booked to stay here! From our first exchange of emails, she has been nothing short of brilliant! Lovely comfortable cottage in a quaint Somerset village. We did not feel like paying quests, we felt like long time friends invited for the weekend. Nothing too much trouble for Rebecca and breakfast on Sunday morning was like a family affair. Suffice to say, her Superhost status is well deserved! Sara and I have no hesitation in endorsing that award and would happily stay there again. Andy and Sara.

Who would’ve thought that a humble, disused barn could be reimagined into such an uber cool pad? The perfect hideout for two, the Bolt can be found off the beaten track in a wild and rustic countryside setting; for the most part undiscovered and yet within only four minute’s-drive from the town of Wells. Designed around its original features there’s a distinctly urban feel to the space, with split-level resin flooring and steel beams contrasting the interior’s plush retro styling. A contemporary wood burning stove and chic furnishings add to the luxury of the open plan living area, and a modern kitchen complete with a cooker, fridge, and dishwasher means guests get to enjoy their time alone in complete comfort. A large folding door makes the most of the beautiful setting and rural views, flooding the home with natural light and inviting the fresh country air inside, and the deliberately darker colour palette that adorns the walls creates a romantic, sultry mood throughout. Carefully positioned lighting brings a unique atmosphere to every area within the space, and a gorgeous master bedroom featuring a king size bed and bespoke cowry shell chandelier; fashions a sumptuous retreat that’s perfectly suited to lazy mornings and breakfasts in bed. Outdoors there’s plenty more on offer with a spacious slate patio being the perfect place to enjoy the sunshine. Grab a throw and relax on a sun-lounger with a good book, or spend hours soaking in your own private hot tub without a care in the world.

  • The Bolt is such a beautiful and well thought out property, inside and out. Our hosts were helpful, communicative and made us feel so welcome and really like it was our home away from home for the weekend. Everything was flawless, such great attention to detail - everything you could want and incredibly clean. It really made a special weekend perfect. We can't wait to go back. Thank you!

  • A beautiful, quiet and relaxing location. Decor was stylish but cosy, and it had all the amenities youd expect. The hot tub is an amazing addition. As the name suggests, it's a feels like a great hideaway. My friend and I wanted somewhere to escape our busy lives for a long weekend, and this was the perfect setting. The hosts were really friendly when we arrived and departed, but also allowed us our privacy during the stay. I would recommend and hope to go back!

We were there mid December on the last weekend before they close for the winter & were impressed by how warm the 2 heaters kept the hut, we were nice & toasty throughout our stay. Charlotte was always there on the end of the phone if we needed anything but gave us lots of privacy & space to relax & enjoy our time together. Great space, great host, great time, thank you!

  • Gert Lushing is the perfect little place to get away from the hustle and bustle for a while. Communication was great and we had everything we needed for a few days stay. The Oakhill Inn served lovely food and the 10% discount was a bonus. Would definitely stay at Gert Lushing again!

  • We loved this cozy cabin! It had everything that we needed. We were worried about being cold during November however were pleasantly surprised by the 2 heaters which made it very warm and toasty. Charlotte was a great host and provided quick replies. All in all a great stay and we will definitely be coming back sometime!

  • Beautiful cabin with stunning open fields, peaceful, tranquil perfect for getting away from the rat race.

    Sarah2019-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place to stay away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, great views of the field and farm and a really cosy cabin! There was everything we could possibly need to cook and prepare food, managing to make fajitas, hot sandwiches, jacket potatoes and even bake some cookies! The cabin was amazingly clean and cosy, and the choice of two heaters to use to warm the room up were much needed when it got chilly! It felt especially comfy when laying in bed listening to the rain on the roof (there was lots of it!). Thanks again Charlotte, we hope to see you soon.

  • Claire and Jake are amazing hosts, they made everything possible to make my stay the best they could. They are very friendly and warm welcoming and treated me like one of they're friends. Airbnb should create a category called supermarvelicious cause they would fit right in that. Thank you so much for the lovely week I had. Definitely recommend and if I ever need a place to stay again I will return to Claire and Jake.

  • This is a beautiful peaceful little haven with a stream running through the outside seated area. . It offers a perfect healing retreat with total privacy yet is so close to all the attractions. The hosts are outstanding and I felt they genuinely cared about me as a guest. They provide a super comfortable bed, lovely continental breakfast and sky tv. They are a genuinely warm and kind couple and I felt very welcome, I slept peacefully and this property was also sparkling clean and cosy too. I didn’t want to leave and I highly recommend it to anyone.

    Rosie2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • A very warm host couple. The equipment is small and beautiful. Everything you need is available. Very clean, cozy. In the cold season it has a small fireplace, the room is immediately warm. The small garden, made especially for the guests, is very inspiring, the brook you have in view comes directly from the Holy White Spring. A little magical place. Highly recommended, we will be back. Thank you. Big hugs

  • This place was truly relaxing and cozy . It was well thought out with attention to detail . It is by far the best air bnb place I have been to ! The extra plus was the great location and the little stream next to the house which was nicely set up to relax by .

  • Mark and Mei were the perfect hosts! Mark was really friendly and welcoming and really made us feel comfortable and at home. The space is cosy, warm and clean, and has everything you need for a long weekend. You can basically walk everywhere in Glastonbury but the space is very convenient - only 5 mins walk to the high street. We had such a nice time!

    Margaret2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • This place was absolutely perfect! I actually stayed here earlier in the week with a friend but booked again for a solo trip for the weekend. The room was really cozy and comfortable, especially the bed, and it was very clean and well taken care of. Check in with Mark and Mei was really straightforward and they were lovely hosts! This place is also in a really central location for everything in the town centre. I will definitely stay again!

    Katie2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect Glastonbury retreat. Mark and Mei were so helpful when I asked, but let me have plenty of space to myself. The private access was to the spring was magical. Parking on the street. Plenty of room to relax after a day in Avalon. Highly recommend. Close to everything!

Beautiful, 400 year old Grade II listed stone bakers cottage, in the picturesque and peaceful Somerset village of Pilton, nr Shepton Mallet. The cottage has been lovingly and sympathetically renovated through 2017, and is now available for occasional holiday rental. The perfect bolt hole for 2, with super comfy king size bed, squashy velvet sofa and wood burning stove, this really is the place to be to enjoy a cosy time away with a loved one (and your dog!)
The cottage is set back from a quiet little road in the village of Pilton. When you come in the front door from the little cottage front garden, you’ll be greeted by a lovely little lounge, with original flagstone flooring. There’s a tv, WiFi, Sonos speakers and Alexa if you want your tech, and boho-chic colours and styling with a wood burner and a soft sofa and vintage comfy arm chair if you just want to kick back and relax. The lounge is so peaceful, getting the afternoon sun in through the little window, and staying cool in summer with the stone flooring, yet you can stoke it up nice and cost for those winter evenings with the wood burner !. The kitchen is through the doorway off the back of the lounge - all recently refurbished. We love to cook, so we’ve provided almost everything you could think of in the kitchen to make your stay easier !. There’s an induction hob, electric fan oven and microwave, and a small fridge freezer. You’ll also find a nespreso machine and a couple more sonos speakers if you fancy music and coffee (although please bring your own coffee pods!). There is a small bathroom, with an electric shower over the bath. The light above the mirror will come on automatically when it detects movement after dusk, to help you navigate the cottage at night!. Through the back door in the kitchen, you can access the fully enclosed rear garden. There’s a patio set, and lighting for using the outdoor space at night. (Although be sure to keep the lights off when star-gazing ! - the village has no street lights, so there is hardly any light pollution - the Pilton stars are hence amazing !) Upstairs at the cottage is 1 bedroom with a lovely comfy king size bed. There’s a little desk and chair if you have work or makeup to do (!) - and a comfy little armchair if you want to sit by the window upstairs and read.
Pilton is quiet ! - and there are no streetlights !. The village pub is a few minutes walk up the lane, and there’s a rechargeable torch by the door to take with you if you go out after dark. The Crown ( https://thecrowninnpilton.wixsite.com/mysite ) serves food till 9 most nights, worth a call to check in advance. It's basic pub grub, but you'll get a friendly welcome and a good local pint (of cider!). Pilton Working Mens Club is also in the village, and open to all. They have bands/events on most weekends, and the "Emerging Talent Competition" for Glastonbury Festival is often on on Saturday nights. http://www.piltonvillage.co.uk/village/pwmc/ The village itself is beautiful. Spend some time wandering the lanes and checking out the old stone houses set back from the roads. You have some fab country walks round the outskirts too, if you head down Hitchen Hill from our front door, you're on Worthy Farm. You'll see plenty of dog walkers and amblers out and about if the weather is nice. (Stick to the paths on the farm though please, remember this is a working dairy farm). Also in the village - the Tythe Barn, St John The Baptist's Church, and Pilton Methodist Church - all worth a look. Further afield - Glastonbury, Wells, Shepton Mallet, Cheddar - this list goes on - we've written about some good places to go in the guide you'll find in the cottage. Country pubs and little local somerset places in abundance....
  • The Cottage is lovely. The owners have made the placve their own with things that they love and have kindly let others in to share. It's a wonderful space for a couple and with touches like sonos it adds to the atmosphere. Communications with Darren and Nic was superb throughout. THe kitchen is one of the best equipped for a rental we have seen. Highly recommended.

  • We had a wonderful stay in this beautifully restored cottage. Warm and welcoming, we arrived for a Christmas get away to a house with a thoughtfully constructed Christmas tree and an array of small gifts! Definitely ranks as the best AirBnb experience I have ever had.

    Jamie2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • What a fab little cottage! Great location to explore lots of Somerset. It has everything needed for a comfortable stay. The hosts are excellent too, very quick to reply when I had any questions. Highly recommend.

    Nikki2019-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • This cute and cosy cottage is a perfect idyllic get away. With an enclosed front and back garden it was perfect for the dog. The kitchen is so well equipped-you will not want for anything if cooking up a meal after a long walk. The cider that was kindly left by Darren went down well! I loved the stylish touches in the cottage and the wood burning fire was a perfect way to end the day on this cold weekend.

A character cottage in the centre of Shepton Mallet. The cottage is situated at the top of the high Street close to the tourist information, two supermarkets, the bus stop to nearby towns and Collet Park. There is on street parking opposite which is free out of working hours.
The room is a cosy single and has a wardrobe, shelves, single bed with bed linen and towels and is next to the shared bathroom. You will have access to the kitchen which is fully equipped with all cooking utensils, there is also a cupboard and a shelf in the fridge for any foods you wish to buy.
The high street has an eclectic mix of shops and cafes. The Art bank and Cheeky Bean cafes are certainly worth a visit as is Kilver Court designer village and garden. Shepton Mallet is centrally located for visits to Glastonbury, Wells and Frome.

Charming log cabin studio set in 8 acres. Suitable for 2 people with a private bathroom and kitchen. Well behaved dogs welcome. Good local pub and shop in walking distance.
Located near the historical cathedral city, Wells, this comfortable self contained studio cabin is perfect for long or short stays.
  • The cabin is super cosy & a lovely place to come back to after a cold windy walk in the mendips! As a couple of other reviews mentioned there is a house very close by but we barely noticed it once you are in the cabin - it has an undisturbed beautiful view & you feel like you are the only ones there! Cathy was lovely when we met in passing but I was also very grateful that she just let us get on with it. If you're looking for a cosy hideaway close to plenty of beautiful historical villages etc then this is perfect!! Would ahppily go back!

  • Had a wonderful stay at the cabin, surrounded by beautiful countryside and a short walk away from local pub and quaint little shop. Fell in love with the sleepy village of Croscombe with its friendly villagers. Perfect location to explore Somerset and all it has to offer Thank you Cathy for a wonderful and pleasant stay.

  • Comfortable and quiet log cabin with all amenities in place. Main windows look towards fields. Good parking away from the main road. Good access by road to Wells and Shepton Mallet. Perfect for a short break to enjoy the area. We would book again on a future visit.

  • Location was ideal for both Wells and Glastonbury. The cabin itself has everything you could possibly need and was warm and cosy despite the pouring rain and windy weather outside! Cathy was a fantastic host, definitely pop over and say hello to her and her husband.

    Rachel2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is set up a hill it has everything you would need for a short or even long stay. Lots of beautiful walks nearby and if you don’t want to drive again till you leave there is a pub a 5 minute walk away that is also a restaurant and a shop that sells basic things including newspapers. Wells, Bath, Cheddar and Glastonbury all very near near if you want to do some sightseeing. Would highly recommend.

    Lisa2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • A very VERY comfortable place to stay with every possible convenience inside the lovely cabin. Would definitely recommend and I’d love to stay again sometime soon. Hard to fault. A couple of things to be aware of though - there’s a large house just metres away not shown in the photos. Although I was disappointed on arrival I soon got used to it and didn’t meet the residents. The village shop is in a room at the local pub and good for essentials only, so stock up before if required. Great accommodation, you’ll love it!

    Gary2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice cozy cabin with everything you need. Lovely decorated A quiet relaxing place surrounded by green meadows and hills. The cows in the nearby pasture watch over breakfast. We spent very nice days there.

  • We really enjoyed our stay! Bettina is very lovely and always wanted to make sure we have everything we need. For example the boiler broke down on our stay and she quickly procided us with an electric heater. The location is perfect, just a few minutes from the town centre and the 2 cats are adorable and love to cuddle with you!

The hot tub was fab and having tea bags, coffee, milk, sugar etc was a really nice touch. Great location with various things to do near by such as visiting Clarke’s village or Glastonbury. • I had a fabulous experience staying at Rosie's house. Rosie is warm and welcoming and her home is beautiful. Beds are super comfortable and having a private bathroom (with a rain fall shower) is a pure delight. Rosie's home is closer to town than I expected, just a few minutes walk away. And breakfast was fantastic, lots of thoughtful little extras. I can't recommend Rosie's place enough, I would love to stay there again when I'm back in Glastonbury.

    Rachael2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Rosemary is a true super host. Wonderful quiet residence, close to town, great breakfasts and great shower! Would definitely stay again.

    Kirsty2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • This place was not only spotlessly clean and with a gorgeous kitchen and dining space, but Rosie also was very graciously accommodating, pleasant and relaxed. She responded to all my queries in no time at all, the bed was ever so comfortable and having a stylish and efficient private bathroom to use was a real bonus! And it is very close to the centre of town and the local supermarket (Morrison's) whilst being quiet. Parking can be close if you're lucky, or less than a minute away otherwise. I can see why everybody wants to return, i would!

  • Don't hesitate to book, great all around and I will look to stay with Sue next time I'm in Bath.

    Ross2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Sue was an excellent host even though we never met. The extra little touches in the property where very much unexpected but appreciated. Very clean, warm and cosy with excellent communication. Would definitely recommend and return to stay again if I was returning to the area.

    Wayne2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • The standard of accommodation and amenities goes way above and beyond the 'norm'. We were amazed at just how many extra things were available in the kitchen: not just salt, pepper and oils, but a whole range of herbs, plus milk in the fridge, tea and coffee (and filter coffee if wanted) ~ loads of things that we didn't use as we took most of our own stuff! We never got the chance to actually meet Sue unfortunately, but communications were friendly and she was quick to reply to questions. The bed was like being at home for us: a memory foam mattress that was incredibly comfortable. A nice touch were the motion sensor lights that came on as you entered the kitchen and the bathroom. We couldn't fault the cleanliness of the whole apartment, and it was lovely and quiet, too. We were down in the area to attend a weekend event at the Bath & West Showground, and it was an easy 30-minute drive from there.

    Jane2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Nice apartment

    Nichola2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed at Sue's for a visit to Bath for the weekend and it did the job perfectly. About 20ish minutes outside of Bath. The space is finished to a high standard and has lots of thoughtful extras such as hand creams and something for breakfast. TV also has Netflix and youtube :) Lovely place.

    Joe2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Myself and Jay had a lovely stay at Sue’s place! Very thoughtful touches such as milk and butter as well as toiletries available which added to the thoughtfulness! Great location as only 30 minutes from the places we were visiting such as bath and cheddar gorge, would definitely recommend

A large double room with private ensuite and private outdoor space set to the side of the main house and affording plenty of privacy, with fabulous views of the town and Somerset levels. We don't serve breakfast, but you are welcome to bring your own. There is a kettle, toaster, plates, cutlery and bowls available in the room. Note: We have a cat, but he is not generally allowed in your room. Speak to us if you have allergies. We are also a vegan/vegetarian household.
We all like to think we are unique, so we think our annexe is a rather special too! The room is as pictured, and has in it: A comfy double bed, with clean cotton sheets and duvet. In the winter there is an electric blanket to help keep you extra cosy! A small woodburning stove. Wood and firelighters are provided. (But don't worry, the room does have gas central heating, and a quality oil filled electric heater is also provided in the winter - so you don't have to stoke the fire all night long - unless you want to, of course!!) & Also : bedside tables and lamps, clothes hanging rail, a breakfast bar / desk with two stools (large enough for a laptop!); - and a small cupboard with kettle & toaster (cups, plates and cutlery, and small selection of herbal teas and instant coffee). There is also a selection of hippy, spiritual and eco-living books and magazines to inspire on cold nights. We have good unlimited wifi, the room has a signal booster just outside it too. The shower room is fitted with an electric shower (i.e. unlimited hot water, but not a power shower!); a basin and toilet. Clean towels and the basics are all provided. The room has patio doors onto the outside space, where there is some seating and fab views. There is a carbon monoxide and smoke alarm.
Our house is a 5-10 minute walk from Glastonbury High Street, using a pedestrian shortcut it is downhill there - and uphill back - which might take longer. There is plenty of free street parking outside the house. We are on a hill - which means spectacular views, but also that if you are walking you will need to walk up and down a hill :-) It is lovely and quiet up here (most of the time, though this is Glastonbury so there may be the sound of a beating drum drifting up from somewhere!). There is a small shop / supermarket less than 5 mins walk from our house where you will be able to get some of the basics you may have forgotten.
  • This is a gorgeous spot, high up enough to enjoy stunning views, and yet still close enough to the High Street to feel very well connected. The wood burner is such a cosy touch, and the bed (particularly the pillows!) makes for a wonderful nights sleep. Hard to imagine staying any where else in Glastonbury.

    Rebecca2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderfull how Sorita stayed on the phone with my taxi driver to find the house in the dark. Very welcoming people. So nice of them to make the fireplace in de room burn by the time I arrived. Nice clean room, very comfortable bed. Towels, shower gel, blowdryer, tea... everything I needed was there or they were so nice giving me a coffee when I really needed one 😃 Easy going people, open heart, ready when you have questions. I would definately return if I'll ever get back to Glastonbury!!!💗

    Kathy2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • By Oak and Ash's place is just as described. It is on a hill above the town with great views. The room has its own private terrace, with shelter and chiminea that looks over the town and surrounding countryside. The room itself is cosy with ensuite bathroom. There is a kettle to make tea, with a good selection provided. Bed is comfortable. There is woodburner, which, although I did not use it, would be lovely on a chill evening. Oak and Ash are great hosts. Communication was prompt and directions excellent. I would definitely stay here again

    Rob2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • I cant say enough about how enchanting this space is and how it is situated within magical Glastonbury. I slept so well...best of my journey in England so far. It was beautiful with a private patio and fire hearth to sit by overlooking the town. Savita is lovely and so knowledgeable I highly recommendthis flat Catharine

    Catharine2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • This home is a great find with welcoming hosts. Essentially it’s like being in a little annex with a lovely en-suite and a door directly from the bedroom to a part of the garden. Easy parking on the road and great wifi.

    Lizzie2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Ingenious accommodation: large room with fireplace, private terrace with fireplace, wonderful views of the countryside, very quiet location - and very warm and helpful hosts. I will definitely come back.

Just 2 minutes from the famous Abbey and 5 minutes from the Chalice Well and Glastonbury Tor, a lovely cosy single room with a view of the Abbey.
I am passionate about Glastonbury and am very happy to provide information and directions to many of our sacred sites. I offer a very warm welcome and a relaxed and easy atmosphere.
  • Vicky was very friendly and the most welcoming of hosts. I felt immediately at ease in her company. I had got slightly lost after getting off at the wrong stop, but after one or two calls, I managed to find my way okay. Would highly recommend both the host and the location of the property. As it is just next door to the center of town. The room was incredibly quiet, which is a blessing. I would certainly book with this host again.

    John2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at Vicki's was great. Vicki is a great host really friendly, welcoming and a really nice lady and great to talk to over an amazing breakfast. The accommodation is also great as is the location. There's even the cutest dog. I would highly recommend to anyone and I hope to stay again when I go back to Glastonbury in June

    Suzanne2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Vicki is so warm and welcoming and her dog is adorable. The location can’t be beat, a 2 minute, flat street, walk to the center of town and the Abbey, as well as restaurants, pubs, shops and bus stop. About 25 minute walk to the Tor in the other direction. Fantastic deal, great place to stay!

    Alicia2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Had an awesome stay here while doing workshops in Glastonbury. The house was clean, Vicki was lovely and I couldn’t recommend more. Will definitely stay again when I’m back in Glastonbury 💕

    Serena2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Vicki is an unbeatable hostess. He informed me of everything I needed, was cozy and even saved my life by lending me the adapter I had forgotten! I will repeat without hesitation.

  • Vicki is a stellar host. She was great to communicate with ahead of the booking, and even met me at the bus stop! She is really good (and very experienced) at hospitality, even offered to make me breakfast, which was delicious. We had some lovely chats; she is a very open and kind person. 100% recommend for a delightful hosting experience in Glastonbury.

    Aaron2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely time at Vicki's place. Close to all interesting points in town and amazing bed to rest after all the energy work one usually does in Glastonbury. Highly recommended place and host. Thanks Vicki.

  • I very much enjoyed my stay at Vicki's home. It's in a very convenient location in town and the cosy room is peaceful and quiet. Vicki is friendly and really knows how to look after guests. She offers a selection of tasty, healthy options for breakfast, has excellent local knowledge which I found very useful and has a really cute puppy. I will certainly be staying again!

Comfortable cozy single room in quiet house (twin room also available under listing 'Twin Room in Sunny Quiet House. Glastonbury Town'). 10 minute walk to High street, Glastonbury abbey, bus stops and taxis. Countryside walk to Tor and Chalice Well garden. . Shared bathroom with shower. Free parking. Astrology chart Reading by arrangement. Also can taxi to or from Bristol airport / Train station by arrangement before your arrival.
The room is small but light and comfortable and situated at the back of the house and overlooks my small garden. It is ideal for a short stay. Hot drinks are always available. You are welcome to heat vegetarian food and prepare snacks in the kitchen
The neighbourhood is peaceful and the house situated in a small cul de sac. At the top of the road there is a green space and a children's play area. The Tor and Chalice Well gardens are both a 25 minute walk away through countryside above the town and similarly a 10 minute walk to the town centre, shops, cafes, restaurants and supermarkets. There is a bus stop, shop 2 minutes away. The short route to town does involve using steps but the longer route by road with footpath takes 5 minutes more.
  • Helena is an amazing host. She is so attentive and caring, you feel immediately good as soon as you arrive at her house. The house is lovely, the bedroom was very comfortable, I felt safe and in a soft cocoon there. The cats are also so cute ! Everything is clean, and the bedroom has an addictive smell of clean sheets that I personally loved.

    Maëlle2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Helena is absolutely lovely , perfect host 100%, not intrusive but really helpful , the house is only 5 minutes walking to the town centre. Will definitely book with her again! Highly recommend

  • Very good location, kind host, easy walk (downhill) to town main street and a direct (uphill) walk back. Comfortable room and access to bathroom and kitchen.

    Raphael2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • I enjoyed my stay at Helena, her sense of ease make me felt at home. I also enjoyed our conversation, as Helena is quite knowledgeable about Glastonbury area. The space is very tidy, clean and simple. I also loves her friendly cats!

    Shanni2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • I had been given some last minute time off work and when looking on AirBnB came across Helena’s place. It seemed perfect for a solo trip for a couple of says away, and it definitely was! Helena was quick at responding and great with all of my questions before I booked (including reassurance of car parking spots!). When I arrived, she gave me a warm welcome after driving 5 hours to get there - letting me in, offering me a drink and to sit down/chat before showing me my room and leaving me to settle for the evening. The room itself was lovely, perfect for a couple of days stay - clean, comfortable bed, a lamp for evening reading, drawers should you need them (I tend to travel light). The shower was clean and simple to use. Helena also offered me to keep my milk in the fridge and have use of cutlery, should I need it. The house is only a short walk from the town and right across the road from a local corner shop (which is open late if you need anything!). The only thing I’d say is that it IS uphill so maybe not suitable for those who will be in + out a lot during the days. Helena was lovely and friendly - giving me tips and recommendations for what to see in the town and where I could get good veggie food. But she was also very respectful of giving privacy. There are two cats in the house too, but I am an animal lover so was happy to make friends with them 😸 Will no likely be back to explore some more in the future!

    Vee2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Helena's space is a true oasis away from the hustle and bustle of Glastonbury High Street. Beautifully located on a hill with view of the Tor from a nearby sweet parc. Helena is highly knowledgeable of the area and has many a useful advice. Would surely stay again if my path leads me to Avalon once more.

    Simona2019-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Helena is a friendly host that respects personal space. Accommodation is clean and comfortable.

    Suzanne2019-07-14T00:00:00Z

  • It's nice. Location great for seeing different bits of country side, feels really clean /safe/warm. It's kind of basic - there's no Wi-Fi as far as I could make out, and kitchen has bare minimum, but that's reflected in the price. I'd stay again.

  • Very well situated, easy to reach. Ideal when you wish to visit Wells, Cheddar gorges and Glastonbury. Studio is very comfortable and has everything you could need. Perfect for two people. It is very quiet. Because there is no much light around the area, it is great for stargazing too!

  • Great place in a beautiful remote valley. Set on a lovely farm with friendly dogs to welcome you. Simple and practical space - quite spacious. I didn’t need the host but felt well looked after and welcomed. I’d happily stay again
