  • Very friendly host!

  • Fairly basic, but I knew I was not going to be spending much time there and all I was looking for was a bed, coffee and shower in the morning, which I got!

  • Great place to stay, Sean was really helpful and friendly. Would definitely come back if I’m in the area again.

A spacious barn conversion in the grounds of the The Old Hall in Old Dalby, within the Vale of Belvoir. Secluded with great views, within gated grounds. Completely separate from the main house with a kitchen and bathroom.
The main living space will hold 4 people, but is probably better suited to a couple or family of three. The main space is a living room and kitchenette, making the room feel spacious and light. The living room contains a sofa bed able to sleep two people. There is a bedroom with a king sized bed and storage space to hang up clothing. The Barn is situated within the Vale of Belvoir, which is host to many local activity and lovely landscapes. There is a whole host of culture to explore such as Belvoir Castle, Wollaton Park and Nottingham Castle and caves. If it is relaxation you are looking for then Ragdale Hall Spa has everything you need and is just a 5 minute drive away. There is a log burner with FREE logs to keep you warm on cold winter nights!
The Barn is situated in the quiet village of Old Dalby. There is a lovely pub only a 5 minute walk away that's also dog friendly. We are situated between a few towns and cities: Nottingham - 25 mins drive Leicester - 25 mins drive Melton Mowbray - 15 mins drive Loughborough - 15 mins drive
  • A lovely cosy spot in a great location. Plenty to do in the surrounding area as well as relaxing in from of the fire. Our little pup Ruby enjoyed herself too with the safe and spacious garden to explore and the local pub which was also dog friendly. We would love to come back in the spring to explore some more.

  • Definitely worth visiting. A lovely homy place with a beautiful garden, close to Melton. Hopefully, we can come again some other time.

  • A wonderful view and very comfortable accommodation. Little extras were much appreciated

    Jo2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Really lovely barn with almost everything you could need - including cheese in the fridge & ham - which our dog had!! Really good log burner with plenty of logs - made the place really toasty & warm. Secluded location down a private lane - but still only a short walk to the village. The local pub is also really nice with very good food. Comfortable bed, good hot shower, everything clean. We'd love to stay again!

    Janet2019-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • The Barn is a beautiful place to stay, very comfortable beds, the perfect place for our mother/daughters spa day at Ragdale Hall, only 7 minutes drive away.

  • wonderful sand relaxing space and location. Highly recommended!

    Bryony2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • There is a reason this place has so many great reviews. We had very specific criteria mainly a place that our crazy spaniel could run around and tire herself out as my husband has a injured foot . I can confirm she absolutely loved it, the garden was secure and the squirrels kept her entertained for hours. The cottage itself is spotless and the power shower is perfect. Honestly couldn’t fault the place and plenty of free logs for the fire and Williams Mam was sooo welcoming and friendly. can’t wait to return.

    Emmy2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • A pretty barn set in beautifully kept grounds. Incredibly peaceful but yet within walking distance of the local pub. Beautiful log burner and use of Netflix to enjoy curled up on the sofa on a cool evening. Bathroom was immaculate, furnishings pretty and vintage and the bed was very comfortable. We have stayed in a number of Airbnb properties and we would recommend this cute barn. A really lovely place to stay. (For any 'runners' visiting the property, it is well placed for the local 'Park Run'. ) A very enjoyable weekend!

    Chiedza2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Review for Paul: Paul was the most incredible host, and made us feel immediately welcome and comfortable at the Old Diary. Every single detail was taken care of in regards to home comforts, and the accommodation was outstanding. The bed was super comfy, and the decor was so well thought out. During our stay Paul made sure at various points to check in with us via the app to see if we needed anything, and even to recommend some nearby places to eat. We have found our 'go to' airbnb in this little gem. 15/10!

    Chiedza2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing space, Paul was so helpful and generous with the little touches in the room, including drinks and food. Highly recommend and will definitely be returning.

  • Lovely place for a quiet evening away. The room had so many little extras, fresh fruit in the fridge, beer, wine, hot chocolate, biscuits, fresh flowers etc. The bed & pillows were comfortable. Sockets in the right places, a well positioned television and a good quality shower. Thoroughly enjoyed our time.

  • Unfortunately, we didn’t get to stay this time but James and Amanda have been very generous, gracious and accommodating. I hope that we can stay with them sometime in the future.

    Helina2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • James and Amanda have a beautiful home which is perfectly fitted out for a comfortable stay. They are lovely hosts, very friendly and accommodating, and Timmy the dog is great! The location is within easy reaching distance of both Nottingham and Loughborough, and there is a convenient village car park next door to the house, so you don't have to park on the road. The room was very comfortable, beautifully decorated and had lots of extra touches that I really appreciated. The bed is very comfortable and the en-suite was perfectly clean and fresh. Just what I needed.

    Faith2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • A delightful cottage in a lovely village. I needed somewhere at short notice due to a housing situation and this fitted the bill perfectly. My own cosy room up a separate staircase with a cute en-suite wet room. James and Amanda are so welcoming and I was made to feel very comfortable. The dog was very welcoming too! Perfect all round.

  • It's an absolutely lovely place! All you need to feel welcome in a wonderful spot. The local village is very friendly. My partner and I only had one night there, but the first question on leaving was, "Can't we stay longer?" Super easy and smooth check in/out. Rosalyn was really helpful and nice, but the space has the exact amount of privacy you could want.

Lovely apartment on a former farm in open countryside. Open plan living, with sofa bed, bedroom with double bed. Shower room. The steps upto this flat are steep and narrow. Please do not book if you have any mobility issues. There is only on site parking for one car. Pub and restaurant, 1.5 miles. Many lovely walks and places to visit nearby including Belvoir Castle. Super market 5 miles. The price advertised is for two people, double room basis. If you require a twin please book for 3 guests.
For those of you with keen eyesight, you will notice that there is a flight of steps up to the apartment. These are original to the building and, as such, some of you may find them a little steeper than modern stairs. For this reason this apartment is not suitable for those with mobility issues. Please do not sleep on the additional sofa. There is absolutely no need to rearrange the furniture.
This is a very rural property. It has been located in the same rural position since it was built over a hundred years ago. If the location doesn’t suit you, it is neither the property’s nor my fault. It is where it is and cannot be moved. Please do not complain about it’s location. It is a beautiful RURAL location, there are no amenities within 1.5 miles.
  • Brilliant location, beautiful place, great hosts!

  • A great place for those wanting peace and quiet

    Mike2019-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • Peaceful, quiet, uncluttered by technology - an ideal place for someone looking for peace and quiet in an easily accessible rural setting.

  • Sue's place is set in an idyllic countryside setting down a private gravel road. It was easy to find and a great base for travelling into the local villages and Loughborough town. When we arrived we were greeted by Sue's partner who was very friendly and explained how everything worked. He was polite but also gave us lots of space! The loft was very clean and comfortably furnished. It has a cosy and relaxing feeling. We would definitely recommend it as a place to stay and look forward to visiting again soon!

Set in the Vale of Belvoir between Cropwell Bishop and Colston Bassett a self contained annex is offered. The house lies 20 minutes from the historic town of Newark, Nottingham and Melton Mowbray and is ideally placed for a day out exploring Belvoir Castle or Holme Pierrepont Country Park (a major water sport centre). The property backs onto the Grantham Canal providing excellent walks and a cycle route. A secure garage is offered for bicycles.
The space is self contained with its own door and key. It has a large upstairs bedroom with an ensuite shower room, and a welcoming downstairs living area. The room has a log burning stove, smart TV with Netflix and a compact kitchen with sink, fridge, fan oven and hob. The property has its own 1 acre plot and guests are welcome to enjoy the area but should be aware that the garden may have children and chickens roaming.
The villages of Cropwell Bishop and Colston Bassett are famous for their Stilton cheese and a factory shop is open during working hours. The Vale of Belvoir offers a number of attractive villages and guests can enjoy the Wharf cafe in Hickling or a pub lunch at the Martins Arms in Colston Bassett.

  • A lovely little find. Self-contained annex with facilities for cooking and delicious breakfast offering. A peaceful, calm space in the countryside perfect to get away from it all. The log burning stove is a nice touch and was much appreciated on one of the windiest nights of the year. We even had daffodils left for us, which had opened by the time we left on Saturday morning. Great communication from Jo, who was close by if needed but left us to ourselves otherwise. Could not fault this place.

Our home is within a beautiful village in the Vale of Belvoir. You’ll love staying here with the village feel and lively local pub. The room is a private access annexe attached to the main house which would be great for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers.
The annexe has a vaulted ceiling, a small kitchenette (has a microwave but no other cooking facilities) and a well proportioned en suite. Guests have access to fast wifi and parking. Great if you are looking for a relaxing break in village surroundings.
Harby village is lively with a pub serving food 7 days a week, a cafe and a local shop and garage. It's a beautiful, friendly village with walks and bike rides directly accessible.
  • We really loved this little annex and had such a lovely weekend here. The room is very comfortable and cosy. The host had left food for breakfast and there were toiletries in the bathroom too so they really went above and beyond. Despite being attached to the hosts property, we never felt like our privacy was being compromised and the location is rural, peaceful and perfect for a little weekend break in the countryside. Thanks so much for a great stay, would highly recommend!

  • Lovely little annex to spend the night. Comfortable bed, wonderfully clean, with handy little kitchenette to make hot drinks. Jennifer and her husband were also very flexible with check in- allowing us to arrive early so we could rush off to a Christmas concert. Handy place near to where family live- so I expect we will be back!

  • As the name suggests this is a small venue but is perfectly formed and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The property is tastefully decorated and well equipped. It is spotlessly clean and the hosts provide toiletries and plenty of choice of breakfast cereals. The hosts are very knowledgeable of the local area and were able to recommend excellent local eateries. Entry into the property is private and straight forward. It offers a perfect base for exploring this beautiful area.

  • Phil is amazing. He is so kind, welcoming and hospitable. He was spot on with communication before I arrived, giving me very clear instructions on how to get to his place. I stayed in the upstairs room which is huge, warm and has an amazing ensuite. He made me a cracking breakfast both days which was lovely and he is a very interesting person to chat to. Would definitely recommend to anyone, especially people visiting BGS.

My home has been tastefully renovated with quality fittings and a period feel. It is immaculately clean and tidy. There are 2 bedrooms, one of which is my own, and I have cats and rabbits. NB: additional fees for single-night, and additional guest, apply.
Sileby is a typical village with all the usual amenities: shops, coffee shops, pubs, churches. It is situated between Loughborough and Leicester and has a train station enabling access to both. From my home you can walk along the river/canal to neighbouring villages. Watermead Park is also on the doorstep, with its lakes, walks and cycle paths.
  • Great stay thank you Bev for inviting me into your home, all good.

My house is all about about music, literature and retro games. 4 minute taxi ride from the centre of melton, 20 minutes from East midlands airport, and parks. You’ll love it here because of the warm friendly atmosphere and being surrounded by music and culture.. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers. PLEASE PLEASE CHECK MY LOCATION. The only thing I ever get a 4 out of 5 for is my location. This is a little harsh as I really cant move my house haha
Great room, with 2 single beds. Access to the dinning room, lounge and kitchen bathroom with bath and shower. Happy for you to chill around the house, listen to music and cook.
Melton Mowbray is about 1.5 miles away there's lots of places to eat and drink in the centre.

    Radoslaw2019-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent value with a friendly and accommodating host, Ross made our stay comfortable and relaxed, The location was fantastic for us and onsite parking was really useful. The small things such as chocolates on our beds, marvel pillow cases and fresh coffee in the morning made things so much more enjoyable. We requested a later check out time than usual, which he was able to accommodate, and allowed us to get a good nights sleep before our long journey back home. Couldn't recommend highly enough, if we are ever in the area we will definitely stay with him again.

    Shaun2019-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Ross is a great host and very friendly. The property is clean and very comfortable . We got such a good nights sleep. It is Ross's home a standard 3 bed semi . The walls including the stairwell are lined with shelving to house all manner of entertainments, but does make the walk ways a little narrower than usual. We loved it and would stay here again.

You won't have to go far for an amazing cup of coffee, the BREWery coffee shop and deli is just downstairs, there is a Tesco just a little ways along the main road for all your groceries and there is a range of take aways available all within walking distance. The Free Trade Inn is only 500 yards walk away if you want a local pub for food and drinks. The train station is less than 0.3 miles away making walking easy to connect into Loughborough and Leicester Stations.
  • Lovely accomodation with plenty of space. Beds were super comfortable and had a great night's sleep. It was also wonderful to have a cafe downstairs for coffee and croissants on Sat morning. Tom was a brilliant host.

    Jillian2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our 2 night stay. The apartment looked just like the photos which was great. We were visiting a relative in hospital in Leicester so being in Sileby was excellent for the A6 for our daily commute to Leicester. We utilised both takeaways opposite which are recommended, and also very handy having the Tesco Express. My sister recommends the 5 mile circular walk she did to Seagrave, all flat and to start you go under the railway bridge and then follow the footpath. We were able to park outside the flat which was a bonus on arrival, then as we were there on a Sunday we could park outside the flat all day, we just moved the car around the corner to The Maltings before Monday morning which worked out fine. The café below is shut Sunday and Monday, so didn't hear the chatter from below! We will definitely stay again if we are in the area.

    Rachel2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at this beautiful apartment. It was very clean and modern. The kitchen had all that we needed. Tom was very quick to help when communicating with him about the property. Check-in was simple. Location was excellent with a Tesco express close by and the train station within walking distance. We loved our trip on the Saturday night to the local pub with a thatched roof down the road, which had live acoustic music and a great atmosphere. Plenty of local takeaways available. We also really loved the Brewery coffee shop beneath. As to be expected on the Saturday morning we did start to hear noise from them from about 8.15 in the morning. At times it was more noisy than at others, but it didn’t really impact on our stay. Worth noting that the hallway below the apartment is shared with the coffee shop, making it feel a little less private, if that is important to you. We thought the apartment was incredible value for money and was better than we expected. It was a lovely space to catch up with friends. Thank you.

  • I had to come over to Nottingham (where I spent my childhood) in a rush from France because my grandma was passing away. I had considered a hotel but they were too expensive and was aware of Tollerton being near where I needed to be. Rosemary was a perfect host, does a lovely breakfast, and I was able to move freely in and out of my accomodation without fuss. This was ideal for me as I didn't really know where or for how long I was going to need to be for my Grandma. My stay with Rosemary really couldn't have been better to be honest, and I would recommend her to anyone. The accomodation is self contained, with comfortable bed, warm (underfloor heating), and it's own private bathroom. I believe there is also an attached conservatory but it was winter so didn't investigate. Thank you Rosemary, you did a great job and it was a pleasure meeting you.

  • I had fabulous stay with Rosemary. I was greated by a warm and friendly smile followed by a lovely cup of tea. We had such a good natter, I was late going out to meet my friends 😀 The accommodation was spacious, spotless and tastefully decorated. As a Coeliac it can sometimes be challenging when it comes to eating away from home. To my delight, Rosemary caters for people with special food requests and made me a wonderful tasty gluten free breakfast. I would not hesitate to recommend Rosemary's accommodation and hospitality to anyone.

  • We had a really enjoyable two nights at Linda's place. Perfectly located for a visit to our nearby family friends and a flying visit to unique/boutique shops at The Engine Yard... The accommodation was spotless, well-equipped, cosy, with supremely comfortable beds and lots of lovely extra touches such as croissants, orange juice and of course, the table tennis table! Without doubt we'd definitely stay here again.

    Rebecca2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • This was an ideal place to stay for me and my friend who live far apart but met tin the middle. Linda was such a great hot - timely responses, easy instruction and a very clean studio with lots of lovely little touches that just added the sprinkles onto the cake. Very pleasant and friendly hosts - would definitely return.

Designed and built by me and my sons, this Tiny House Trailer overlooks the River Wreake and the grazing pastures beyond. It has a long double bunk bed with a generous single bed beneath. It has a tiny woodburner ,12 volt lighting plus phone charging point. Composting toilet just outside, plus a conventional toilet and shower 2 minutes away. Camping kitchen available 10 metres away. You are welcome to use our canoes on the river during your stay. Very basic but fun. There is now a swing seat.
I have wanted to make a Tiny House for many years, in fact one of our Cabins was listed on Tiny House Swoon , but this really is a Tiny House.. We built it ourselves, based on an old trailer, and the design is totally unique, although it is inspired by the whole Tiny House movement. It is sited on the banks of the River Wreake, where we have canoes which you can use. It has a tiny wood burning stove which not only warms the space but allows you to heat a kettle. It is totally off grid, with 12 volt lighting and a phone charger. ( in the winter I can run a mains lead across to the trailer for a fan heater; this is £5 extra per night. Just let me know if you find you need this ( especially useful first thing in the morning before the stove is going ). Amenities like Mains electricity, water, toilet, shower, WiFi etc are close by, but you are free to get "away from it all".. Just sit on the swing seat and look out over the river and the fields beyond, with beautiful Lincoln Red cattle wandering about . Take a paddle down the river, watch the kingfishers and ( occasionally) the otters. Sit round a camp fire.. Bedding is provided but I recommend sleeping bags too, especially in frosty weather. There is space to sleep 3.5 ( ie 3 adults, one child).
Our valley is in an Area of Particularly Attractive Countryside, with pretty little villages dotted along it. Lots of tall hedges, welcoming pubs, cattle grazing, lovely walks. We are about 2 miles from the nearest small shops, and 3 miles from the nearest supermarket. The nearest pub is the Blue Bell in Hoby ( 1 mile), which serves excellent meals and has a lovely outdoor area looking out over the valley towards our house. There is a great delicatessen and cafe 2 miles away in Thrussington which makes a good target for a nice long walk along by the river. Leicester is a vibrant, happy, multi cultural city with many facets, and we can recommend some brilliant places to eat there.
  • John's place is unique and very charming as well as refreshing. Very ramshackle and personal which made my trip there all the much better. I went there with my 2 dogs and they absolutely loved the space. John is a great guy and very accommodating. I will certainly be going back, next time with wife and kids in tow.

    Mark2020-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved our stay here. John is a very accommodating and knowledgeable host. Excellent location with nearby walks, canoeing on the river and watching the passing trains. We enjoyed it so much we stayed an extra night.

    Alex2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay. The canoe is a great touch, very relaxing paddling up the river.

    Martin2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great little place, with a very warm and welcoming host. In a beautiful setting with everything thought of.

    Sam2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • My best friend had recently had a baby and we were looking for a local destination that was local to where we live and only for one evening. John was able to accommodate us and we had such a wonderful time. Lots of different amenities to make the stay comfortable and John's checking in process was brilliant! We thoroughly enjoyed spending our afternoon swinging on the porch swing, overlooking the gorgeous countryside and sipping a glass of prosecco. There is much to do on site including canoeing up the river, playing in the tree-house, cooking on site OR if you prefer walking the mere mile to the local pub; The Bluebell. Thank you John for a wonderful stay-- we'll certainly be back soon.

    Kate2019-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to relax, glam in style and experience the great outdoors! The trailer is very cozy, the log burner is great to keep you warm at night and the outdoor shower was invigorating!! We were able to use the canoes and bikes which was very generous of John, and the surrounding areas are great to explore! There are loads of cows and horses around to view, and the local pub is very nice with a beer garden with a great view! We really enjoyed ourselves!

    Alexandra2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • The host John was very friendly, helpful and interesting to talk with. Our stay in the "Tiny House Trailer", was just what we needed- peaceful, relaxing and cosy, despite the nearly endless rain! It was great to snuggle up with a book in front of the tiny wood burner, or, when the rain had stopped, on the swing looking out to the river and fields. Highly recommend.

  • Phil’s home offered a great experience for staying in an Airbnb. He went out of his way to make me feel welcome in his home. The accommodation was excellent being a large bedroom with a very comfortable bed and good illumination for me to prepare my work for the next day. Bathroom was clean and roomy with plenty of hot water in a large shower. Will happily stay with Phil again when next in the Keyworth area.

Keyworth is a thriving medium sized village, positioned south of Nottingham, just off the Nottingham to Melton Mowbray road. Keyworth has three decent sized grocery shops (Sainsbury's Local and 2 xCo-op) two easily accessible on foot. There's an excellent fish and chip shop/restaurant, indian restaurant/takeaway, chinese takeaway, pizza takeaway and cafes in the village. There are a selection of pubs (4 in easy walking distance) all of which serve food. There is a library, newsagent, butchers, bakers, DIY store in Keyworth. There are also excellent local sporting facilities in Keyworth - Golf club, tennis club, table tennis club, bowls club, bridge club, gym/swimming pool and a Leisure Centre/swimming pool.
  • Very spacious and modern annex. It was an ideal location for the wedding we attended at the Carriage Hall, although bear in mind it is up a hill if thinking about the walk home in heels (my wife said she would have worn lower heels if she'd known). Steve was very friendly and helpful and there was bread, butter, milk etc supplied.

Immaculate and equipped with modern furniture and fittings with lovely touches (fresh fruit and choccies). Big comfy bed. Lovely and quiet. Really nice breakfast supplies. Thanks very much.

    Debbie2019-12-15T00:00:00Z

  • Exactly what the details on Airbnb say; a very convenient and comfortable place, with a host that is very supportive and communicates well and quickly.

  • Had a great stay in a well situated location - really need a car - was quiet and spotlessly clean - bed was very comfortable and the shower was clean and provided plenty of water - for me the fact that the kitchen and loo was in a room immediately next door was not an issue and just added a bit of charm. Would definitely rebook if in the area again....

  • Susie’s place was perfect. On arrival we were shown to the property which was beautifully clean and tidy. When getting our luggage in we were offered tea and coffee. Which when it came it also came with homemade cake (delicious) We had taking our 4 month old puppy with us for the first time, he was also made very welcome and they have a lovely grassed area which was very secure for him to run around in. Overall we were very pleased we’d chosen Susies place and we will definitely be returning in the future.
