Welcome to Old Manor Cottage, brought to you exclusively by Character Cottages, local specialists in stylish, Cotswold holiday rentals. Old Manor Cottage is a beautiful Grade II listed cottage that dates all the way back to the 17th century and sits peacefully in the large grounds of the owner's manor house, which is also run as a small B&B facility. The cottage is located on a quiet lane in the small village of Halford, on the north-eastern edge of the Cotswolds, surrounded by stunning countryside. There is a shop and a pub in the village, and the famous Cotswold market towns of Chipping Campden and Moreton-in-Marsh are both within 10 miles, with their wide range of shops, pubs and restaurants. William Shakespeare’s birthplace of Stratford-upon-Avon is also less than 10 miles away, and many other attractions are within easy reach, including Warwick Castle, Blenheim Palace and Oxford, as well as the many stately homes and gardens located in the north Cotswolds. Important Customer Notice: - Special Events: Christmas, New Year and the Cheltenham Horse Racing Festival are Special Events, with bookings typically limited to weeks only from a specific start day If your dates don’t appear to fit, then please click Contact Host below to find out what options may exist for you!
Old Manor Cottage is a beautiful thatched property that sits in the grounds of the owner’s manor house. The front door opens into the hallway, with the following rooms on the ground floor: Living room: This lovely room has exposed beams, an oak door and a roaring open fire. There is a two seater sofa, two comfy arm chairs, and a Freeview TV with integrated DVD player, plus an iPod dock with radio and CD player; Kitchen/dining room: A well equipped kitchen, which includes an electric cooker with four ring electric hob, fridge, freezer, slimline dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster and a combined washing machine and tumble dryer. There is also a glass dining table, which comfortably seats three; Cloakroom: Contains a toilet. Stairs lead up from the hallway to the first floor landing, off which are the following rooms: Bedroom 1: This room contains a single bed. Bedroom 2 is accessed via this room, making bedroom 1 better suited for a child; Bedroom 2: Accessed via bedroom 1, this is a lovely dual aspect room, which has beautiful views across the gardens and contains a king size bed; Family bathroom: Contains a bath with an overhead shower attachment, heated towel rail, toilet and wash basin. The cottage sits in three acres of beautiful grounds, and guests have their own private lawned area within the grounds, including a summer house and a table with four chairs and two sun loungers. There is a well maintained tennis court in the grounds, which guests can use by prior arrangement with the owner, and the grounds run down to the River Stour, where fishing is available. Off street parking is available outside the cottage for two cars.
The Cotswolds are characterised by attractive small towns and villages, built of the underlying Cotswold stone (a yellow oolitic limestone). In the Middle Ages the wool trade made the Cotswolds prosperous and some of this money was put into the building of churches, leaving the area with a number of large handsome Cotswold stone "wool churches". The area remains affluent, which has encouraged the establishment of many high quality pubs, restaurants and antique shops.
  • My wife, our 8 month old and I really enjoyed our few days at this cottage nestled in the cotswold countryside. The value for money is exceptional! The kitchen and bathroom have underfloor heating which is so nice when making the first cup of tea of the day; and the log burner in the lounge really adds to the cosy atmosphere. Yes, the beams are low and the stairs are steep, but this just adds to the quirkiness of the cottage - plus I’m 6’ 3” and didn’t have much trouble. Our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer.

  • Perfect! We had such a lovely time staying in this beautiful place. We were welcomed by a bottle of Prosecco and a box of chocolates to see the New Year in, and found everything to be very high quality, very clean and well thought through. The shower is quite literally the best I’ve ever had. The bathroom has all sorts of extras in case you’ve forgotten anything. Iszy was very welcoming, check in extremely easy. The kitchen is well stocked with all the pots and pans you need to make food. There’s a fridge, washing machine and dishwasher - luxury! Thank you, Iszy, and I hope we’ll be back!

    Will2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • The Anex is a fabulous living space above the garages of Kineton Grange Farm. It is a busy farm (with beautiful horses) in the Warwickshire countryside so prepare for muddy shoes in the driveway. Iszy herself was absolutely charming and a most helpful host despite being rushed off her feet when we turned up earlier than expected. Would be happy to stay here again. (Directions: Look out for the large name sign for the farm at the end of the driveway as it’s easy to intrude on the neighbours’ by mistake)

    Ally2019-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • Would highly recommend this space. It was stylish, clean and very comfortable and cosy! It had absolutely everything we needed and we loved our stay!

    Katie2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely perfect from beginning to end. Thoughtful touches, great communication and always created with a smile by Iszy. The bar is very high for any future stays.

  • Had a lovely weekend stay at The Stables. Toasty warm, tasteful accommodation in quiet rural surroundings. We enjoyed first-class hospitality from Caroline. I was visiting the area with my mum to take her to visit old friends, so the downstairs sofabed was ideal for me, as was having a non en-suite bathroom! In all a very relaxing stay - and somewhere we hope to stay again.

    Oliver2020-03-01T00:00:00Z

Modern, light and clean accommodation located in a quiet cul-de-sac. A very comfortable super-king bed in its own bedroom, with plenty of space to spread out and unwind in the living room. A big, flat-screen TV for when you've done exploring or working, there's a dining table for two and space to work if you're here on business.
Around here there's something for everyone! We're conveniently located just 4 miles from Shakespeare's Stratford-upon-Avon, 7 miles from Royal Leamington Spa and 8 miles from historic Warwick and its famous castle. More modern amenities, such as a supermarket, are just a 5-minute walk away and the Post Office a short drive. We pride ourselves on making our place feel like your place, with comfort in mind. Rumour has it you won't want to get out of bed in the morning because it's so comfortable and the living room has all you need to work, rest and enjoy your stay. Radiators to keep you warm in winter and an oscillating fan to keep you cool in summer; we want you to be just right. If there's something you need, just let us know; we'll be happy to help with whatever we can. We look forward to welcoming you and we hope you enjoy your time here.
Eating in Wellesbourne offers several choices; two pubs - The Kings Head Restaurant & Bar and the Stags Head; a Chinese takeaway and a Fish and Chip takeaway. Also, there are places to buy food - two One Stop Shops which stay open very late and a Co-Op grocery store. These are all about a mile away. There is a Sainsbury's supermarket just a 5-minute walk away.
  • I’m not sure if I want to tell the truth about this place as it might be booked solid the next time we pass through! Hilary and Lionel have created a lovely space in which the thoughtful touches - a fantastically appointed kitchen with the basics in place for cooking and heating food, an excellent shower - hot and great pressure [and a heated towel rack!] and a comfy bed - a comfy BIG bed - just add up to a delightful experience for weary COVID-19-avoiding travellers. It’s amazing value and positioned so well for travel to Coventry, Birmingham, Stratford. If you’re a motorcycle nut, the Triumph Factory Experience as well as the National Motorcycle Museum are not far. A short hop up from London - it’s a brilliant location to use as a base. Hilary and Lionel have travelled extensively and as a result, I think, they’ve really thought of everything a traveller might need. Oh, and there’s a good sized Sainsbury’s very close by. Onsite parking. It was secure and quiet. I wish I was still there!

    Nadia2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is a really lovely place. Easy check in, very convenient to local sights!

    Kirstin2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • An excellent place to stay, spotlessly clean, well equipped and close to local amenities. Hilary and Lionel were very welcoming and helpful, which all added to a thoroughly enjoyable weekend.

    John2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • I've stopped with Hilary on a number of occasions and got many future stays booked - A great little property if you are on business or looking for a base to use for Stratford or Warwick

    Barry2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I stayed at Hilary's places a couple of weeks ago for the weekend and we had a lovely time. Hilary's place was very cosy and the bed was unbelievably large and very comfortable. The location was within a very quiet neighborhood which was lovely for walks even late at night. The kitchen had a single hob induction cooker which was surprisingly really good and worked brilliantly for us when making meals. Overall we were very happy with our stay at Hilary's place and would most definitely stay there again.

    Priyank2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Another “home away from home” stay at Hilary’s. Future stays booked. Brilliant property

    Barry2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely quiet rooms, loads of space and well-appointed.

    David2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • An absolutely spotless, modern space that is within a stone's throw of so many local sights. The extra attention to detail really made us feel welcome during our stay. I'd recommend this to anyone considering days out or work trips in the nearby Stratford Upon Avon or Warwick.

There is a patio with a pizza wood oven and a big green egg for bbq’s. Plenty of seating and looking into the grounds. There is a pond and recently installed bee hives. Children would love this. We have a small veg patch which we are trying to make enough available for guests.

Farthings Cottage is a little hideaway in our garden close to our house but with a feeling of privacy. We live in the southern part of Warwickshire and whilst easy access to Stratford on Avon, Warwick and the Cotswolds, we are nestled away in our 26 acres of horse fields and forest. As well as two children there is also one rather shy cat and three friendly horses. We would say that a car is an absolute necessity as we are a drive away from all amenities.
Farthings Cottage is a charming and welcoming little space perfect for a hideaway time with nature and wildlife on your doorstep. Though quaint and secluded there is also fast internet and central heating as well as a good shower and a fully equipped cottage kitchen but no microwave oven.
We live in the Warwickshire countryside and though secluded have easy access to Stratford Upon Avon, Warwick and the Cotswolds as well as being approx 36 miles from Birmingham. It is a thriving countryside full of gastro pubs, National Trust Homes and general activities.
  • Mia’s cottage is around a 20 minute drive from Warwick Castle, which is easy to find as she provides great directions! The cottage is set behind the main house which has a great view of the garden. We were delighted to see around 8 deer outside of the window in the evening and we watched the birds over breakfast. This is a place to relax and enjoy the quietness! We are hoping to return in the summer so we can sit outside on the patio.

    Stefanie2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely space in a beautiful location. Thoroughly recommended.

    Chris2020-03-14T00:00:00Z

    Alice2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely small place in the countryside, twenty minutes to both Warwick and Stratford-upon-Avon for day trips. We enjoyed not having a tv as we got to play a few board games and enjoy the quiet.

  • We had a lovely break in a nice quiet location surrounded by the beauty of the country. We visited some of the local towns and villages and enjoyed some of the excellent food prepared fresh by local pubs and bakeries. Mia and Mike were very friendly and helpful. Thank you.

    David2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • What a find! Such a beautiful place to relax and unwind. Full of character and a super comfy bed. No telly, which we loved, but good WiFi if you do want to watch something on your laptop. Mia and Mike are so lovely and made us feel really welcome. Loved the horses too! Can highly recommend the car museum, which is just down the road. We'll definitely be returning to Farthings Cottage again!

  • Highly recommended. Beautifully decorated with great amenities in all rooms. The home cooked bread was a great touch and cooked to perfection. Beds were extremely comfortable, great water pressure. It was a home away from home.

    Michael2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Just wonderful! We stayed at the Coach House for 2 nights for my husbands birthday. The place is beautifully clean and beautifully furnished. We were met with fresh cut flowers and freshly baked bread and a view to die for. Such comfy beds and great amenities we didn’t really want to leave the cottage :-) we did though, and visited the local village and enjoyed a lovely walk in the nearby Little Rollright and saw the wonderful Rollright Stones. A fabulous stay and we all agreed we’d love to come back!

    Clare2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely quiet rural retreat. Clean and well looked after. We didn't need a lot of looking after but Bryony was very helpful for anything we asked.

    Paula2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Our visit to Bryony’s place was just perfect. The house is big and while the main rooms are huge, they still remain cosy and warm. The main thing we noticed was the quiet, the house was incredibly peaceful and it was just what we needed for our break. Bryony had placed some wonderful little details that made us feel very welcome from the moment we stepped into the house. Bryony was also very quick to answer messages and questions. The place has plenty of room to park and is not to far from some wonderful locations (we drove into Stratford which took around 15-20 minutes). We have stayed in some wonderful AirBnBs over the last couple of years for holidays and when attending friends’ weddings but we both agreed that this has been our favourite AirBnB experience so far. Highly recommend. Thank you again Bryony for letting us stay!

    Matthew2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had an excellent stay at the Coach House. We travelled during a named storm and Bryony was very communicative regarding road conditions, both running up to and the day of our travels. Really helpful and quite indicative of the attention to detail throughout. A very comfortable place (nice and warm) in a tranquil setting. The little one definitely loved exploring the and seeing all of the animals. Hope to be back.

  • Lovely little place. The Den is stylish and fully equipped with everything you’d need for a long or short stay. Breakfast items were provided, cereal, bread, yogurt, juice, butter and jam. Towels and shower essentials provided too. Lovely little gastro-pub a 30 sec walk away, food was nice- service left a lot to be desired though- obviously this has nothing to do with Louise. Sky tv and Wi-fi provided for downtime. Although attached to the main house, we had a lot of privacy and space, although I knew if there were any issues ( there was none) I could approach next door with ease. Thankyou for a lovely break away Louise, wish we could have stayed longer and Thankyou Emma for the warmest of welcomes.

Next time I am in the Cotswolds I would definitely come back :).

People from all walks of life are welcome here - LGBQT and straight alike. All I ask is that you treat my place respectfully. Lovely three storey Victorian terrace with recently decorated double bedroom and en-suite bathroom with separate power shower. (Second room available on request (please see separate listing). Well equipped kitchen, free WiFi, TV, blue tooth speakers, toiletries supplied. Just minutes walk from Banbury town centre, bus and train stations.
Beautiful three storey Victorian town house. You will have the space to yourself. You will have the run of the ground floor living areas, and the top floor - bedroom and bathroom. If you have booked the one bedroomed option, the middle floor is not part of your accommodation, please do not use either of those rooms. Double bedroom and adjoining bathroom (the only one in the house), as well as full use of the kitchen, dining room and living room with WIFI and internet TV. Downstairs cloakroom. Back garden where you can bbq - weather permitting! (disposable bbqs in the kitchen cupboard). Please see separate listing if you are interested in having the house for 4 people (2 separate double bedrooms but one shared bathroom which is only accessible via the main bedroom on the top floor).
This is largely a residential neighbourhood and once in the house, you would never guess you were almost in town.
  • Highly recommended for a stay in the area. The house is deceptively large with all amenities and decorated tastefully to a very high standard. I cannot recommend it enough!

    Stephane2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Really lovely home, nicely decorated and plenty of books around to read. Sarah also included thoughtful touches like some food in the freezer in case you arrive late and didn’t get a chance to buy any yet! Would 100% stay here again

    Michaela2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely and clean house. Very homely and the most comfortable place we have stayed in. *****

    Terry2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Simply lovely, clean, welcoming and a stylish place. Friendly host. Would highly recommend.

    Lydia2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah's place is honestly the nicest Airbnb I've ever stayed in! It's sparkling clean, decorated beautifully and is super cosy. We loved the thoughtful details (milk and cokes in the fridge!) and the bed is so comfortable. Our Chihuahua loved it too. Thank you Sarah.

    Naomi2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • This house is brilliant value! Stylish furnishing and a very comfy bed. The bathroom is large with a lovely shower and fluffy towels. Sarah responds to messages very quickly and is very generous with food in the kitchen/toiletries etc. It’s less than 10 mins to walk to the nearest supermarket and there is free on the road parking around the house. I stayed here for work, and it was like a home away from home. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

    Natalie2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah's home is a beautiful place and so close and easy to get to Banbury train station where you can get to Oxford or London so easily!

    Roxanne2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Just stayed the weekend at Sarah’s and couldn’t recommend it highly enough, it’s a home from home. Everything you need is there and Sarah can’t do enough to help and suggest places to visit and frequent. A really great venue and an excellent host.

This is a truly beautiful spacious barn conversion, in the Cotswold countryside, suited for a large family or a group get together. This property is 7 miles/ 13 minutes drive form Jaguar Land rover and Aston Martin so its ideal for the short/long term employee or sub contractor that would require a 1 night stay or more. It is also perfect if you have a family that they wish to join you. Pets allowed. We have a safe key box so the access is easy and we will provide the code on the day of rental.
The village is in the heart of the countryside. Fantastic country walks and amazing views. Please read the below the information for the local towns. Visit Stratford-upon-Avon introduces you to a market town with more than 800 years of history, containing not only many buildings that survive today and would have been familiar to Shakespeare, but also a thriving community offering a wide variety of leisure. Warwick is a town on the River Avon, in England’s West Midlands region. It’s known for the medieval Warwick Castle, founded by William the Conqueror. The Collegiate Church of St. Mary has a tower with city views and a Norman crypt. The timber-framed buildings of 14th-century Lord Leycester Hospital cluster by the city’s West Gate. The St. John’s House Museum is housed in a Jacobean mansion with gardens
Excellent footpaths through the Cotswold countryside.
  • If you're looking for a quiet place away in the countryside, without disturbance from any neighbours, then I'd highly recommend this place. Response times are extremely fast from Claire and check-in/check-out was extremely easy too.

  • Great property in an ideal location for our needs. Helpful owner who was easy to communicate with.

    Rob2019-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely and spacious property. The bedding, towels and soft furnishings were not luxurious but was not expecting it for the price paid. Overall we were very happy and satisfied with our stay.

    Ali2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful accommodation in a great location.

    Jeff2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely accommodation in remote countryside. Lovely house very accommodating and clean & Claire very responsive when contacted. If wet weather would recommend "wellies" as the yard is working stables and fills up with puddles very quickly! Would highly recommend the Rose & Crown in Ratley for dinner. Thank you & hopefully we will return next year.

Bishops Itchington is an active village in the south Warwickshire countryside, easily accessible by road and rail.
  • I stayed here for work - Amanda’s instructions made it easy to find. It is near a train line as mentioned in description but it didn’t really bother me and I already wear ear plugs to sleep and wasn’t disturbed. I had assumed that the annexe had a separate bedroom from the kitchenette/TV area and would have a separate entrance, though this was not a problem - think of it more like a hotel room with a kitchenette! The room was warm and the shower lovely, it was a great place to stay for my work trip.

    Natalie2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place, very clean, bed was really comfortable, the shower was great - very powerful and hot! Amanda was very helpful and replied quickly to any questions. Would definitely stay again if we were in the area.

  • Amanda was a great host during my stay. She was very welcoming and let me just get on with my stay during my week. Unfortunately my stay was cut short as I was informed I would have to work from home due to corona virus, but Amanda was very understanding about the whole situation. Overall, perfect!

    Marcus2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • A well kept stay in a beautiful location. The train mentioned in the description was not a problem at all.

    Richard2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Amanda was an excellent host and was very flexible with my arrival. The house was very clean and peaceful with everything I needed readily available. Will happily stay again.

    Sylvia-Violet2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Amanda’s The Garden Room is an absolute gem of place! Located in the countryside on a farm, the accommodation is a gorgeous annex with wooden beams, big comfortable bed, Smart TV, kitchenette, clean shower and always at a nice temperature. I slept like a baby both nights I was there, I honestly wish I could have moved in! Amanda and her husband were even kind enough to rescue me after my van got stuck in some mud, don’t know what I would have done without them. Will absolutely be staying there again for any future trips.

    Adam2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed whilst working in the area and it was Lovely. Amanda is a lovely host made me feel welcome. It felt like I was on holiday and in the summer the views would be amazing. Would stay again.
