The Seattle neighborhood of Ballard has many restaurants, bars, coffee shops, a cinema, bakeries, and quirky stores. The Sunday market is a must. Golden Gardens Beach, the Ballard Locks, and the Nordic Heritage Museum are all close by.
  • I have been enjoying this wonderful cottage for many visits and this time, I had the luxury of going for long walks in the surrounding neighborhood where the roads were quiet, the people friendly and the spring blossoms above and beyond. I love this place!

  • I absolutely adore this place! It was in the perfect location because it was close enough to all the places we wanted to go in Seattle but just far enough that noise and parking were never an issue. They left some great little personal touches to greet us. Will definitely be back again, thanks Bev & Grant!

Great work-from-home alternative or staycation during these challenging times! Conveniently located near the Island's village & Seattle ferry, this 200sq ft architecturally-designed, eco-friendly backyard guesthouse is the perfect getaway. Ride into town on the bikes, enjoy the hot tub, garden patio, fire-pit and high-speed wifi!
This is a 200 sq ft guesthouse located next to our main house in the backyard. It has its own bathroom and shower, and kitchenette - a coffee maker with complimentary coffee and tea selection. A mini-fridge, microwave, electric tea kettle complete the kitchenette. The guesthouse is flooded with natural light and a full suite of blinds on lower windows provides complete privacy should you desire that. Like the unit, the hot water heater is small so short showers (6 mins) are recommended (unless you like them cold). If you like long showers this is probably not the place for you. If the water begins to lose heat, it only takes about 30min to recharge. We also have a pack-n-play available upon request for a baby. Just keep in mind that the space gets pretty tight when it is in there. The guesthouse does not have a TV but you'll find a delightful patio garden with a fire-pit and hot tub to enjoy instead. And of course high-speed wifi for streaming on your device. The guesthouse is located in a quiet residential neighborhood near to our little town of Winslow and all its amenities, and close to the Bainbridge/Seattle ferry. While not in the country it has a delightful mix of deep green, moss, and natural sunlight. We think it's perfect. We might have a slight bias, but still. **Please scroll down this page (below the reviews) to read more details on our location and how to get around. NOTE: Due to the current health crisis, we’re taking extra care with our cleaning and disinfecting of the space between reservations.
Our Island guesthouse is just under a mile (.9), about a 15 minute walk from the Seattle ferry, a 25 minute (1 mile) walk to the quaint village of Bainbridge Island (Winslow) and only a 5 minute walk, through the back of our neighborhood, to our up-town shopping area: Ace Hardware, McDonalds, Walgreens, Safeway, Family Restaurants & of course a Starbucks. In a car or on a bike, it's all moments away. Our residential neighborhood is full of kind, working families and it's quiet. The place has a unique blend of being close in, while feeling a bit further out.
  • Outstanding space, the place is great with lots of natural lighting. The hot tub was a great way to relax, overall as depicted in the posting.

    Jesus2020-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • It’s a cute spot with very responsive hosts!

    Simona2020-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay while in Bainbridge Island. Very cozy and comfortable and central to the main part of town. Ben & Deb were great hosts and friendly and warm and helpful in every way. Hope to return someday soon!

    James2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Snug, quiet cottage close to town with a really comfortable bed. Quiet residential neighborhood near ferry. East to get to. Had a good night's sleep.

    Charlie2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at this little getaway was so relaxing! The space was slightly smaller than we thought based on the pictures but was the perfect place to celebrate our 2nd anniversary! We never got to meet either of our hosts but they were so sweet and helpful in our messages back and forth! There were some minor cleaning oversights but once we mentioned something to them, they remedied that immediately! One of the chilly days we were there, my husband started a smoky little campfire and roasted some veggie dogs before we hopped into the small hot tub cocooned in bamboo to chat with each other and just look up at the beautiful, twinkling stars. The atmosphere radiated relaxation and the outdoor string lights added charm and whimsy to the backyard entertaining area. One thing to note: We realized very quickly that the water temperature in the shower could shift immediately from the Misty Mountains to Mount Doom in the Black Land of Mordor. Be careful if you’re sudsing up and singing out heart out like Anna Kendrick without a care in the world and accidentally bump the water handle. I may have burned my backside slightly before I realized what happened. Definitely take short showers to preserve the hot water of more than one person is hoping to get squeaky clean but we’re used to that at home so that wasn’t any sort of adjustment for us. Overall, this was a wonderful place to stay! Even in February, there were still some things to see and do and we had wonderful hosts!

    Ember2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great backyard hideaway. Check in was a breeze and communication was on point. We really enjoyed using the hot tub. We take short showers so the lack of hot water wasn't an issue for us. Would stay again.

    Bobby2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful space! Deb was great at communicating and extremely kind! They had some great local tips as well! I would highly recommend!

  • Beautiful place with a great view! Highly recommend Kathy’s place.

    Nia2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was a wonderful cozy place right behind Kathy and Dan's place. Our favorite touch was the heater that is positioned perfectly at the foot of the bed for those chilly Seattle nights. We enjoyed the view of the city skyline and Space Needle from our window. What a wonderful place to stay.

  • Amazing place to stay! We went here for a 30th birthday getaway for my boyfriend and I and it was perfect. Romantic. Secluding. Perfect distance to the water. Everything we wanted! The hosts were very responsive and kind

    Devan2020-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • This was what I needed, a night without roommates, dog and an amazing view. The place was great, my boyfriend and I had a great time. The location made it more convenient for food and cocktail delivery. Definitely a great place.

    Miguel2020-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • Definitely recommend it! Beautiful view of the beach & sunset which is about a 3minute walk away. If you ever have any questions they respond right away & make you feel at home. A location you want saved at all times not sure I can find any place in alki beach with an amazing view in the patio or even in the room

  • Definitely would recommend for anyone! Marian took good care of me and would check in to see if there was anything i needed or had any questions! Cleanliness was spot on. Its a cute getaway especially for couples with an amazing view :) Surely exceeded my expectations! 10/10

    Stacy2020-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • This studio was in a great location by Alki beach and the mountain view was amazing! Loved the neighborhood and the style of the home. Would recommend 10/10. Thank you Marian!

    Jasmin2020-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • Being familiar with the Seattle area, I chose this location based on location. I've visited Alki Beach many times but Marian's place is located up away from the main drive tucked away on a hillside that overlooks the water. Beautiful views and quiet little windy streets. It is also a quick walk to the beach. The place is set up like a hotel room with the bonus of having your own private entrance and a little kitchenette with all the basics you would need. I booked this place last minute and Marian was very quick to respond and was flexible with my check in time. It was such a nice "social distancing" getaway for the weekend that was filled with meditative walks along the beach, views of downtown Seattle skyline and hikes (Schmitz Preserve Park - highly recommended) a short, but steep walk to the entrance of the park. Everything was so relaxing and had everything I needed to feel at home and rested.

Beautiful waterfront location. Your rental is the downstairs unit of a duplex located on Beach Drive in West Seattle. We are a mile from Alki Beach and Alki Avenue restaurants and shops.
There are stairs on the side of the house to the lower unit. Beach can be accessed from the deck. The kitchen has an oven, stove, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, keurig coffee maker with K-Cups, pots/pans, plates, glasses utensils. A charcoal BBQ is available for use on the deck.
Beach Drive is vibrant, but not as hectic as Alki Avenue. There are many restaurants and shops along Alki Avenue and up the hill on California Avenue. There are a few parks within walking distance, and the Seattle Waterfront is 20 minutes away.
  • Brian and Amara have really thought this through and anticipated more than most guests ever will. From spare hand lotion to a pre-heated hot tub to everything in between.

    Dan & Kris2020-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • The place had the most amazing view, the house was extremely clean and we loved the little things like the Keurig with different selections of coffee. They left a sweet note upon arrival with my favorite chocolates, it was a super nice touch.

  • Brian and Amara's place was a great place to spend a week. All the amenities you need and a view you can't beat. More kitchen tools than I've ever seen and made it easy and fun to cook and make coffee and tea as needed. The location was great for a walk and easy to access freeways. Would recommend highly!

  • Brian and Amara took extra care to prepare and clean their place for us before we arrived. We felt completely comfortable even though the virus was beginning to upset our city. It is an incredible, restorative retreat, and I highly recommend reserving a few nights there the instant this lockdown is over. Thank you Brian and Amara! Stay well!

  • Any need you could think of and those you might not they have for you. As a bonus the had a generous sampling of local treats and any tea, coffee, and chai you could imagine. • Wonderful place! Great hosts! Lovely farm! Friendly animals, lots and lots of adventure. Me and my boyfriend stayed in the greenhouse for 3 nights. The stars are so beautiful sleeping underneath it and waking up to alpacas and chickens crowing makes this visit unforgettable. I love the whole feeling the farm gave me while we were there. Every morning Denise and Kevin would have coffee and bagels/muffins in the saloon and let me tell you, drinking coffee and having the farm around you gives a whole different meaning to a good morning. We also had the fresh eggs. I love eggs and eat them on a daily basis- but once I got a taste of the farm’s eggs, it is hands down the best eggs I have tasted in my life. Oh and the kale! The kale is delicious, I can munch on them by themselves. Me and Tyler love our greenhouse experience. We still constantly talk about it afterwards. We hope to get another free time this year to visit again!

  • Wonderful place to relax with the animals.

    Marcy2020-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • I’ve always wanted to stay in a glass building so this was the perfect opportunity. Everyone there was super nice and everything was super clean!! I expected a fancy camping experience but instead got high class camping, had a blast with the farm animals, and made friends! My new favorite spot!

    Anna2020-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much Denise & Kevin, this is exactly what we needed for a getaway. I will say we definitely made a new best friend. Shout out to Blue the alpaca! We will definitely be returning in the summer for a full weekend getaway in this peaceful location. The greenhouse was warm, adorable and had the perfect touches.

    Madison2020-04-04T00:00:00Z
  • 10 out of 10 recommend. We loved it and everyone was so friendly. We had a lot of fun exploring and playing with the animals.

    Morgan2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • I’m so happy we decided to stay our last two vacation nights in the greenhouse. We made animal and people friends and slept cuddled tightly in the greenhouse. The nights were cold but we kept warm with the heated mattress pad. The saloon was real nice. Hung out with Howard and Kevin one evening and had a really nice conversation. The animals were just fun. The really excited alpaca and the sweet dogs and goats just added to the loveliness. I really can’t recommend this enough. If you have a sense of adventure, enjoy nature, making new friends and living simply this is definitely for you.

    Chanda2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Where to start?! This place is such a relaxing retreat! Yes the green house is cold at night but the heated mattress pad and blanket felt so perfect! Absolutely loved waking up to see all the farm animals and getting some fresh eggs from the chicken coop to cook for breakfast! This is the place for relaxing and enjoying your surroundings! Thank you! I will definitely be visiting again.

Come stay in your private suite out in the farm country nestled right between historic downtown Poulsbo and Silverdale. You will be surrounded by the sounds of nature and farm country, birds, chickens and turkeys all day long and frogs all night in the fall and winter months. Poulsbo allows you to enjoy unique small shops, famous bakeries and take in the gorgeous views of the waterfront of this Scandinavian town.
Enjoy the unique wood fireplace in the winter months while being serenaded by nature sounds. Please be aware that we are on a well, so the water does smell of sulfa. It is completely safe to drink and shower in. So, just to keep this in mind! No cable or wifi. Just good old fashion dvd and VHS. No parties please.

  • 2nd time staying here, will be a regular. Great location for adventures on the West side of the sound and hoods canal.

  • This cabin is a perfect getaway! The location is ideal - it is close enough to the city, easy to get to, even by public transportation, yet it is quiet, with Nature around and beautiful glimpses of the Olympic Mountains. The cabin is well equipped, very clean and cozy. It felt like home for the five days I stayed here. Jennie&Scott are quick to respond and helpful. They were even kind enough to drop me off to the ferry. I enjoyed staying here and would consider coming back when I need some quiet time in Nature. Thank you so much!

    Anya2020-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely worth the visit! The amenities were great and the cabin was clean and neat upon arrival. Jennie and Scott were great communicators and made the process easy. We will for sure be back!

    Dave2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We loved being the first guests to stay at Jennie and Scott’s mountain cabin! The cabin is nice and roomy, and the accommodations are great! The coffee and tea station is wonderful to wake up to, the bed is super comfortable, the shower was nice and hot, the kitchenette was perfect for small meals and they even offered a mini bar with drinks and snacks for purchase! It was great to crack a cold beer upon arrival! Also, the Brita in the fridge was wonderful. It was nicely surrounded by trees with lots of windows to admire the outdoors. We enjoyed our weekend getaway to Silverdale!

Stunning views of Poulsbo marina and Olympic Mountains. Centrally located on Kitsap Peninsula with easy day trips to Seattle, Port Townsend, and the Olympics. Downstairs apartment in older home one block from town with famous Sluys bakery and galleries. Includes bedroom with view of marina, separate entrance, deck, bath, exercise room, and living room with full-size fridge, microwave, toaster oven, and coffee pot. Laundry with arrangement. Quiet neighborhood so please be respectful with noise.
This is a cute downstairs apartment. Although there is no kitchen with stove or sink, it has the basics (full-size fridge, microwave, coffee, toaster oven, etc) as listed. Separate entrance with no contact entry is down a short but semi-steep incline from the parking space. There’s a nice side deck right outside your bedroom door. TV: I don't have cable TV but I do have Roku/Netflix and DVDs. Bathroom: There's a jetted bathtub with a new hot water tank and a new bidet toilet. Smoking: I have a no smoking policy inside the apartment or on the premises because I’m highly allergic to cigarette smoke.
One block from downtown Poulsbo with art galleries, antique shops, Sluys bakery, coffee shops, ice cream, restaurants, kayak rentals, marina, gazebo, boardwalk, and waterfront park.
  • Really nice and close to shops and the water for walks.

    Scott2020-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • This is one of the best Airbnbs we have stayed at. It was incredibly cute and within walking distance to downtown, which we loved. We also got to watch the sunset and wake up to the amazing view of marina everyday. The bed was extremely comfy too. In addition to the amazing hospitality, Carol recommended many places to visit and explore! We will definitely be back again. Thanks Carol, you rock! :)

    Samantha2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • 10/10 recommend this stay! Carol left personal touches all over the place that made us feel welcomed and at home. The views are stunning, looking right onto the water. Carol communicated quickly and that helped make our experience even more seamless. The airbnb is just a 5 minute walk to the adorable shops and restaurants in the downtown area.

    Caroline2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Carol is an excellent host with a lovely place to stay. It was nice, clean, and full of amenities and tips for the area to make our stay even better than we anticipated. My husband and I especially loved the view from the bedroom looking over the waterfront. And she even left some nice little treats for us!

    Bethany2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I each had a day off just prior to the COVID-19 outbreak, and can’t think of a better way to begin our social distancing! Carol’s place has it all. Parking is easy, access is both private and easy to get into. The space is absolutely perfect for a person or couple. Everything is cozy, has space, and Carol’s stocked the place with everything you could think of, and a lot of things you never would. On SEVERAL occasions, one of us would quite loudly say something to the effect of OMG I NEVER WOULD HAVE THOUGHT OF THAT, THIS IS PERFECT. Location is outstanding. You’re an easy block’s walk up a short hill away from downtown, so we hit up a couple of our favorite places, closed the night out at Slippery Pig, and then home to watch a movie. Carol’s super friendly and was great to have a quick chat with, but we never felt intruded on. She was available but respectful. Cannot say enough good things. Other than please stay away because we want to be able to stay here again sometime.

    Adam2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • I almost don't want to say how fabulous this place is so I can stay more often. Fabulous place, comfy bed, clean, well appointed furniture, did I say comfy and luxurious? I highly recommend this as a get away airbnb

    Barbara2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic Poulsbo getaway! Carol’s place is enchanting, with a perfect view of of this lovely town’s picturesque harbor. Full of extra touches like fairy lights, treats, tips for fun things to do, and even a heated toilet seat! Carol was great with communication and we enjoyed chatting with her on our way out for a walk. Her family is generations-deep in the area, so she has all the local lore.

  • Our stay at the loft was fantastic. Peaceful to say the least. The deck and view were worth the stay alone. The space was spotless and very comfortable. Everything you’d need to quarantine outside your daily quarantine. Hah! The hosts were very friendly and always open to a quick chat. Very nice and welcoming folks. We appreciated that very much. We had a great few days in a relaxing setting. Well worth it and hope to stay again.

  • Ayla was an amazing host. Always got back to my questions and messages. The house was beautiful and so was the scenery. The airbnb place was clean, spacious and open, allowing us to spread out and relax. We had a great stay. The house is a short drive to shops and restaurants in pretty much every direction. It was easy to find and get to. The dogs and chickens were great entertainment in the down time. All house necessities like dishes, silverware, soap, and washroom were easy to find and use.

  • We stayed here for Christmas while visiting family in Poulsbo. We were really delighted with this Airbnb! The space was really cozy and spacious and the bed was REALLY comfortable. We had a long traffic filled drive up from Portland so we took advantage of the hot tub that evening and got to say a quick hello to their super cute dogs. Between our holiday plans, we really enjoyed our downtime in this Airbnb. We enjoyed watching movies in the evenings and making coffee/tea in the morning. The property is beautiful and captures all the magic of Washington with fog, trees, and starry nights. Thank you, Ayla!

    Amanda2019-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • It was our second stay at this lovely property and we continue to be delighted by the gracious hosts and amazing accommodations. In addition to a Poulsbo location near local attractions and amenities, the property offers the tranquility of country living and the sound of cheerful chickens to greet us in the morning. We recommend this property without hesitation.

It provided the perfect amount of comfort while still allowing us to feel close to nature. We stayed plenty warm with the space heater and heated mattress pad. Caitlin2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • It has a great view of Bremerton and even Mt. Ranier on a clear day. Its very spacious, well-kept, and just a great place to stay (esp. for PSNS work).

    Ian2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great little place to stay if you are going to be working on base! It’s also a vey convenient walk to the ferry and restaurants (we recommend Noahs Ark for quick and fun family eats and Axe and Arrow for a little nicer sit-down). Not a far drive to really any of the beautiful surrounding areas such as Bainbridge or our favorite, Poulsbo. Well within walking distance to the base or bus ride. The coffee shop staff and breakfast/coffee offerings were wonderful and it smelled really good first thing in the am. I would recommend. The host, Sam, was very responsive to my questions!

    Kimberly2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great unit and great location. Spent a couple months here and I would highly recommend it to people working in the shipyard. A 10 minute walk to downtown Bremerton. Sam is a great guy and will take care of you. Be sure to check out the coffee shop downstairs.

    Ruairí2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Right outside the gate to the shipyard and very easy to walk around Bremerton. Easy check in process with Sam, and he even had on site parking for a small fee. There is a nice little coffee shop downstairs with great breakfast items. I’d definitely stay here again if I’m in the area. Thanks again Sam!

    Chris2019-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • If you are Navy or working on Naval Base Kitsnap this is a perfect spot. It is literally next to a turnstile gate, no need to drive or fight for parking. Great little spot, close walk to downtown Bremerton.

    Jesse2019-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • awesome place to stay that was inexpensive and close to where I needed to be

    Michael2019-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • When you stay at Sam's place you can expect a very cozy home with a wonderful view and a wonderful host. Sam was very responsive and understanding of my ever changing schedule, and went out of his way to accommodate. His AirBnB is very stylish and had every amenity that I could have wanted. If you work on the shipyard you cannot find a closer place, and with the State Gate Cafe downstairs you cannot find a better place to stay especially TDY.

    Debbie2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • This was, unquestionably, one of the coolest Airbnb’s we have ever stayed in. It was incredibly comfortable and felt very roomy, despite being a “mini” home. The location was incredibly quite, but not isolating at all - we were just a few minutes from downtown Poulsbo. The heated floors were an extra nice touch for the cooler washington mornings and the view out the main window was relaxing. Cell phone service was great as well (we have Verizon).

Cozy, private art studio/cottage with all the amenities, surrounded by water, with views of Oyster Bay and Ostrich Bay. Walking distance to NAD Marine Park, 5 minute drive to Dickerson Waterfalls and Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. Minutes to dining options in Silverdale and Bremerton, 5 minutes from the Bremerton Ferry Terminal which goes to Seattle. This is a working art studio, so the art is always changing. One bottle of wine per booking provided, most important; a comfy bed & no cleaning fee!
Full kitchen and laundry. There is also coffee and tea available as well as a BBQ and lower patio. There is a book of activity ideas, trail guides, and local dining options available, as well as Wifi and TV. We also have a swing, treehouse and a full size bathtub for relaxing.
The studio is located in the quiet neighborhood of Madrona Point. Hiking and beach walking are just a stones throw away. Some of my favorite dining options are Hound and Bottle and Toro Lounge, which are both about 5 minutes away.
  • The perfect space for the perfect getaway. Everything was so beautifully thought out; clean, bright, inviting and the colors were delightful. Relaxing and enjoyable. This stay was exactly what we needed and I slept just like a baby. All the comforts of home were such a treat. Will definitely stay again and recommend to family and friends.

  • This place was so charming! The view of the water was breathtaking and peacefully located. The place was so sweetly decorated and the host thought of everything. Coffee/tea, A BOTTLE OF WINE,toiletries and bottled water. The towels were soft and so were the sheets. The bed was very comfortable. Smooth check in, Erin had great communication. I can’t complain about a thing and will absolutely be staying here again on my next visit! Oh yeah and if she offers one of her art classes, take it, it was a blast!!!

  • Ron and Cathy were wonderful hosts. This beautiful studio has one of the most amazing views of the sound and boat yards. It was just finished in December and still had that new smell to it, sparkling clean and stylish. We were able to walk downtown from this location very easy. So close to shops, restaurants and the sightseeing boats. Check in was keycode which made it very easy and on our own time. No pressure. Loved the murphy bed, very comfortable. This is great for one person or a couple. We will definitely return.

  • This is a great little space in a perfect location to Poulsbo's historic district and marina. There were so many little touches that made such a difference. The "Perch" is quiet and clean with a fridge full of goodies. And don't worry if you forget a razor or toothbrush those are provided as well. • Such an amazing place. Very, very clean and comfortable. It was Valentine’s Day when we checked in and they left us a box of chocolates, very thoughtful. There was breakfast items, water, juice and milk. It was a great area and close to everything. Everything exceeded our expectations. Would definitely recommend and come back.

May 2020 Update: We are open for new bookings, following increased cleaning & disinfecting protocols. Find your landing place nestled in a cottage amidst a PNW garden landscape with peekaboo views of the Puget Sound. 10 min from the Kingston ferry to Seattle. The main suite boasts furniture hand built of old growth timber with modern amenities and a stocked coffee bar. The attached sun room provides a tranquil setting with a hammock and expansive garden windows that offer natural sunlight.
The Upper Left Landing is a completely separate and private guest house, sharing a 1 acre parcel with my home. The cottage is located approximately 100 ft away and includes bottom up/top down shades for added privacy. The main guest suite is a studio, with all the vibes of the Pacific Northwest. The kitchen includes a fully stocked coffee and tea bar with a variety of local coffee beans and teas and preparation methods - pressed, poured over or traditionally brewed. All the utensils and necessities for cooking, including a smaller blender and waffle maker (including all the necessities for waffle making). There is no microwave. Sip your coffee from a bar top hand made from old growth Douglas fir, and enjoy the peekaboo view of the Puget Sound from the hand built bed made of old barn wood from the Skagit Valley. The attached sun room includes the lower hang out area, a couch and a hammock. There is no guest access into the loft above yet. The sun room is lightly insulated and colder during the winter months when there is not as much sun to heat it. Two portable heaters are provided for you to heat the sun room while you are there.
The cottage is located in a residential area on a 1 acre parcel overlooking an empty lot with a peekaboo view of the Puget Sound. The Upper Left Landing is a 10 minute drive (3.5 mi) from the Kingston ferry terminal. Take the car/bike/passenger ferry sailing from Edmonds, or, walk/bike over on the passenger-only fast ferry directly from downtown Seattle (currently operating Monday through Friday only during the off-season). The town of Kingston is lively in the Summer months, hosting the gateway from the Olympic and Kitsap Peninsula to the Seattle metro. Stop by the Saturday Farmers Market (May-Oct), try Mora Iced Creamery's famous blackberry ice cream (available only on this side of the Puget Sound). Stop by CBs Nuts - our own local producer of barrel roasted peanuts and peanut butter. Grab a beer or Kombucha at Downpour, our local family owned craft microbrew taproom. Visit Bloedel Reserve, one of America's 10 best Botanical Gardens, a 20 minute drive to nearby Bainbridge Island. Stop by a tasting room at a vineyard on the Island or see what's new at the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art. A 15 minute drive, is home of the picturesque national historic landmark, Port Gamble - Washington's oldest company owned town located on the shores of the scenic Hood Canal. Visit one of many lavender farms located an hour drive in Sequim WA. Drive an additional 30 minutes to Olympic National Park's gateway including nearby Lake Crescent and Hurricane Ridge. The cottage is located near the end of a dirt road - we ask all guests to abide by the 10 mph speed limit to mitigate dust and ensure the safety of our neighbors.
  • This space was wonderful and Rhonda was incredibly responsive and kind. The sun room is everything!

    Britney2020-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect spot for a weekend of relaxation!! Tons of natural light coming into the house and lots of birds for some killer bird watching. The rocking chairs on the front port were the best. Rhonda had all the tools for the perfect cup of coffee (grinder, pour over system, kettle). Not too far from town and a really nice neighborhood to walk around and explore

    Emilie2020-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • Would stay again!

  • Would definitely stay here again! Was beautiful and great privacy!

    Whitney2020-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely amazing place. The cottage is very comfortable and well laid out, from the comfy bed to the kitchen setup. The sun room is such an amazing addition to the stay, had breakfast and coffee out there every morning and relaxing in the hammock was a dream. We both wish we could have stayed longer before returning to Seattle. We are already talking about when we will be back. Just book it, you wont regret it.

We are using CDC guidelines as close as possible for your safety. Enjoy our secluded park like setting, comfy bed, sauna, homemade bread/jam/cookies, huge cedar trees, gardens, sitting areas, golf chipping/horseshoes. Close to Seattle via ferry ride from Bainbridge Island (30 minute drive) or 10 minutes to Kingston ferries (walk-on or car). Near beach, golf (White Horse GC) & miles of hiking/biking trails (5 minute drive), close to shopping & restaurants. Good for couples and solo travelers.
Our guest cottage is by itself away from the main house. You have deck seating with the golf chipping platform adjacent. Your shower/sauna is next door with bathrobes and slippers provided. Two dressing/toilet spaces with hairdryers/magnifying mirrors/hand lotion, etc. The sofa bed is by American Leather in TX, we invite you to visit their website to glean information about their comfort which is most appreciated.
Indianola is a very small town with a lovely beach (ask us for beach towels) and public dock. We have a Post Office, General Store (great Reuben sandwiches), a pavilion and grassy park like corner (both suitable for a picnic lunch). A short drive takes you to shopping and restaurants.
  • Such a wonderful stay! The small touches, homemade goodies, and wonderful hospitality made this weekend fantastic. Thanks again for hosting us!

  • When we first saw the cottage among the cedars on Airbnb we were immediately attracted to it and booked it for a long weekend / birthday getaway celebration. So glad we did! It was a perfect, thoroughly delightful stay. The cottage is situated so well among the cedars you see them wherever you look; and the cottage itself is truly elegant with beautiful natural light, and smart nice touches here, there, and everywhere! Their family history really shines through. And all the delicious homemade treats were delightful and appreciated. Such beautiful grounds and gardens to enjoy from within the cottage and while cooling off from the sauna, which, since we visited in January was a very special treat. Bonus: there is a lot of good information to help newbies like us enjoy it in the traditional Finnish manner. It was a fun experience. Nancy and Duane are such warm, gracious and welcoming hosts. We had a wonderful, relaxing stay and are so thankful to them for sharing this. We hope to be back!

    Alyssa2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • What a place! Nancy and Duane are such warm and welcoming hosts and this little cabin is a relaxing slice of solitude. Their whole property is so beautiful and serene. The cabin is very well outfitted with all sorts of thoughtful touches and the bread/cookies/breakfast items are really above and beyond. It was super clean. I loved the sauna and used it all three days - such a nice little bonus. It was the perfect place to ring in the New Year - thanks Nancy and Duane for such a perfect stay!

  • Duane and Nancy's place it's beautiful and the perfect weekend getaway from Seattle. Duane and Nancy were very thoughtful and enquired about what we'd like to eat before we even got there. We had freshly baked bread and cookies and fresh blueberry jam when we got there. They greeted us when we got there and told us a few things worth doing around the area. Nancy also showed us some of the art she picked up in India. The cottage itself is gorgeous with beautiful wood finishings and very tastefully decorated. It is well lit had everything for a comfortable stay. There's some light road noise that really didn't bother us too much. We really enjoyed the detached sauna and took contrast showers everyday we stayed there. It's close enough to visit many places in Bainbridge and one place we'd easily recommend is the Bloedel reserve. We had a great stay there and we would like to thank Duane and Nancy for their hospitality.

  • The cottage is a cozy retreat under the big cedars on a cloudy day in the Pacific Northwest (we were there in the winter) and it would be delightful to sit outside on the patio on a sunny day to enjoy the lovely garden. The sauna is an added treat! Duane and Nancy are wonderful hosts and thoughtful, among other things providing homemade breads and jams for breakfast, and home-baked cookies. The cottage and sauna are impeccably clean. It's a good location for further exploring the area. We will definitely stay here again next time we come to Indianola!

    Mary2019-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful sanctuary in the woods. We will for sure be returning guests!!!

    Kathleen2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy and Duane were so kind and welcoming, making our visit feel so personal. The garden was refreshing to walk through to the cottage, and the cottage itself was so cozy and well stocked with toiletries. The sauna was a wonderful addition that really was the cherry on top of the whole stay!

    Kaiona2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Such a wonderful stay! A great fall refresher with reflective relaxation. Perfect scenery, easy directions, delightful touches, a truly luxury stay with a touch of Nordic history/culture sprinkled on top. Hope to stay again soon!

This unique get-away offers the blissful relaxation of country life without compromising any of the comforts of a modern studio. Located on over 5 acres, the studio space is a part of a turn of the century farmstead that is now home to alpacas and chickens who lay fresh eggs every morning. Enjoy the outdoor areas on the property, easy access to Poulsbo's downtown, and being minutes away from miles of hiking and mountain biking trails.
There is free and convenient parking right outside the front door to this lovely space. Although we ask that you do not go into the field with the alpacas and chickens, you are more than welcome to look at them from the other side of the fence, and enjoy walking through the gardens.
Our home is located on Big Valley Road which attracts bikers and runners due to its charm and beauty. There are multiple historic farmsteads on this road, some with barns dating back to the 19th century. We are minutes away from Kitsap Memorial State Park and downtown Poulsbo by car.

Next to the beach in a quiet friendly neighborhood on beautiful Bainbridge Island. 10 minute walk from Pleasant Beach Village with restaurants, a bakery, small grocery store, etc. On the Kitsap Transit bus line. Separate from the main house with its own entry - full privacy. Firepit for an evening roasting marshmallows. Now includes a refrigerator with freezer, microwave and two burner hot-plate. Check our guidebook for local info!
Space is on second floor, exterior stairs for access. There is no separate kitchen but it has a refrigerator/freezer, microwave and two burner hot-plate. The bathroom inside is a 1/2 bath but we have a propane heated camp shower outside.
A 10-minute walk away is Lynnwood Center. This is a wonderful village that includes a small spa, hair salon, farm store, a small grocery store, several restaurants, frozen yogurt, shops and more. At the end of the road (400 feet from the house) is the popular Lytle Beach. It is one of the few sandy beaches on Bainbridge Island. Located on Rich Passage you can watch the ferry go by, start a fire for an evening watching the sunset or look in the tide pools for crabs. Downtown Winslow (great shopping, more restaurants, etc.) is a 10 minute drive away. There are also over 1000 acres of protected "parks" on the island. Including the Grand Forest which has miles of trails for walking or biking. Seattle is a 35 minute ferry ride away. The ferry is a beautiful relaxing experience. The ferry has a galley that serves food, beer and wine. If you are lucky you might get to see the Orcas in Puget Sound during your trip!
  • Everything was great! Would recommend!

    Leilani2020-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute lofted room in a beautiful part of Bainbridge Island! Would certainly return to this cute beachside spot! Very spacious with comfortable bed and futon for extra guests!

  • We loved staying at this loft guest house. The location was perfect and easily accessible (10 min walk) to a grocery store, restaurants and a cute old-time movie theatre. The Airbnb was very comfortable and private. The owners were also very quick to respond to any questions we had. Would highly recommend.

    Kristina2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Just a lovely peaceful place with the quant little town of Lynwood within walking distance. If you are looking for a bit of peace, I highly recommend.

    Jess2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Nice, spacious, clean room with windows in all directions. Beach is just steps away (it was blustery the night we stayed, but still a treat). Twin also had a guide prepared that made us aware of a smaller cluster of restaurants and shops that we would otherwise not have known about.

    Nilpa2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Easy to find and great location
