I can not recommend this accomodation high enough. From the very first contact with Jennie up until after we left it was a pleasure. We were greeted at the house by Jennie at 10.45pm with some lovely supplies ready for breakfast!! The house itself is very welcoming, clean, spacious, and located very close to town centre. Whilst there is no allocated parking with the house, we managed to park right outside the front door and we were supplied with parking permits for both days. There was clear, concise instructions for appliances and wifi, and an abundance of leaflets to help with any sightseeing. We were visiting due to a local wedding, and Jennie had sought a number of 6 seater taxi numbers for us to get to the venue. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your beautiful house. We can't wait to return for an extended stay. On a side note, we found an amazing cafe called the Boston Tea Party. Just what we needed the morning after a great wedding :-)

Jennie was a super level host. Not only did she greet us personally but she checked in with us periodically to check we were comfortable with the facilities in the house and was settled in. Pre-checkin information was very detailed, car parking was no hassle at all as the pay car park was behind the house and payment can be managed over the phone. AirBNB can do more with hosts like Jennie as I personally think it's always nice to meet the owner of the property before staying, just my opinion. Keep up the great work Jennie.

Jennie was a great host meeting us at the house and providing keys and instructions together with a helpful selection of foodstuffs to help us settle in. We didn't need to contact her but it was great to know she was close by if needed. The house was very clean, well decorated and had everything we needed for a comfy homely stay and it was so much better than a hotel for a family stay. Only compromise for us was a downstairs bathroom which was ok for a short stay but not something I would choose long term. Even though there is no parking provided we had no trouble with using the nearby options even with a baby and a car full of bags.

Brian is a really lovely guy and very accommodating. The place is nice a cosey and has everything you need! Brian leaves out lots of extras like tea, coffee, crumpets, cereal, milk and fresh bread which was a great touch!

Brian was a good host - very concerned that we had everything we wanted / needed. The flat was clean and tidy, comfortable, and parking was good. Brian had filled the fridge with necessities, and he replaced these as required. The bathroom was good - easy-to-use shower, thank goodness. Parking was also good and we had the opportunity to use the electronic keypad to open and close the gate late at night! Brian also advised us of a shortcut into town so we didn't always need to use the car.

Great stay - Brian was communicative and helpful arranging check in and out (including offering a lift back to the station!). Was a lovely little base from which to head to wedding festivities I was in town for - private, own facilities and didn't need to worry about getting back late.

From the moment we booked, Brian made sure we felt welcome, from ensuring accurate directions (GPS, as he wrote, doesn't know everything) to milk and crumpets. This was a private self contained flat, which was really close to the town centre. Great host. Great value for money.

This little flat is easy to find and convenient for visits to the north coast of Devon. Near to Rosemoor and the Tarka trail. It has everything a couple would need for a short stay. Private, quiet and self contained.

We booked at very short notice and Brian was a very attentive host, making sure that we could find the place and knew everything that we needed to. Inside is compact but has everything you need and is very quiet and secluded for an urban location. Easy stroll into Barnstaple and easy access by car to North Devon. Minor maintenance work was being done but that was because the property was a new rental. Great value too. Compares well with other airbnb properties we have used. Would certainly stay there again.

Only real problem was me not receiving the full address details by text! I dont know why this happened, maybe my phone, i did look for a second txt but there wasnt one. Brian showed it all to me on his phone. Just unfortunate really. Just dont look for 'The Mews, as it does not show that name on building. comfortable bed, good food for breakfast. nice to have own little flat. Brian very friendly.

Thankyou Jemma! Such a lovely little cottage within easy walking distance of Barnstaple town centre, we loved our stay. We arranged a late arrival on a Sunday, no problem, and met Jemma the next morning. Everything in the cottage was as described and it was lovely to meet such nice people. Many many thanks for the local information, (especially the Sri Lankan beach hut at Woolacoombe!) which made our stay in North Devon even better.

Gorgeous! Very sweet shabby sheek cottage. Perfect location within walking distance of the town. Felt like a home from home. Host very friendly and welcoming. Plenty of space for our little three (couple, baby and dog). The weather was glorious so we even managed to get out into their quaint little courtyard. Would definately stay there again.

The title of this little place says it all. Far from conventional, but made it fun. Quirky little cottage, made my work week quite enjoyable and have rebooked for my colleagues. Excellently postitioned for Barnstable and surrounding. On street parking, use a small car as streets very narrow, but no issues parking. Definitely a recommendation.

We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in Pilton, Barnstaple, and Jemma's cottage truly made our stay! Although we were unable to meet our hosts, we felt that they were easily contactable and helpful when we had any questions or queries. Their tips for restaurants were great and we were grateful for the warning to book ahead! Jemma's home was presented beautifully and care was taken to make it feel like a cosy cottage that anyone could feel at home in. Although there is no parking onsite, we had no trouble finding parking on the road throughout our stay - bearing in mind this was a bank holiday weekend I am sure that parking would be easy for anyone at any point throughout the year. We would recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a holiday in North Devon.

A charming, cosy and comfortable cottage hidden away in a quiet off-shoot off a residential road. It has a little courtyard, too. Jemma is a great host with excellent communication. The kitchen is very well equipped and the bed is comfortable and the cottage overall is clean and well presented. I would certainly stay here again and would recommend it.

Jane's place was perfect for my overnight stop on my long distance cycling trip. The bed was very comfortable, there was a handy kitchen with lots of breakfast things, and I was able to store my bike safely out of the rain. Jane was a good and friendly host and made sure I had everything I needed. Recommended.

Perfect peaceful well appointed hideaway! Jane was very kind about a number of things including flexible timings. Jane was a fantastic host and the room was beautiful! The bed and reclining couch were extremely comfy. Jane was extremely accommodating, including offering her own bedroom to us for a second night when she thought we didn't have a place to stay. Jane also made a great recommendation for Indian called the Ganges which was walkable and fantastic! The WiFi was slightly unreliable but otherwise I couldn't complain!

Lovely small studio, short walk to town centre. Very dog friendly which is a bonus. Jane was very helpful and communication was great. Lovely buffet breakfast options. Barnstaple and the nearby coast is also well worth a visit.

We had a lovely and really comfortable night. Christy (and Banjo, a beautiful and very friendly dog!) made us very welcome and the room was great. It was right next door to the large, clean and airy bathroom and we were able to use the kitchen to make cups of tea which was a real bonus. Very relaxed, happy atmosphere, I would definitely recommend.

We had a really lovely stay over Easter at Heavitree Cottage. Katie and David were really welcoming and the cottage was really well equipped with lots of extra little touches including everything we needed for breakfast which was a lovely surprise. The space was perfect for our little family, and our daughter had her own room which gave us all a bit of peace and quiet! Katie had lots of suggestions for family outings and things to do so which was really helpful as we were slightly unprepared and hadn't done much research before arriving. Would definitely stay again in the future

A very cute 2 bed cottage with enough sleeping space for 6. I would suggest that a family of 4 would be the ideal number though! The cottage was immaculately presented and we were welcomed very warmly by Katie and her family. There was a lot of good info on local and regional attractions in the cottage as well as a "favourites" folder. Breakfast was provided in the form of bread and butter. Tea, coffee and milk were also in place throughout the stay. The kitchen setup is perfect for a very casual dinner with everything you need to prepare and cook simple dinners. The master bedroom upstairs was very tastefully presented with a super comfy king sized bed. There were cushions and pillows galore! The second bedroom contained a bunk bed - ideal for 2 kids. Bathroom again, nicely presented with an awesome shower. Location wise was perfect. A 15 minute stroll into Barnstaple with all it's shops or a 5 - 10 min drive to the local supermarkets. Private parking was off street. I would highly recommend this for anyone wanting to explore the north Devon region!

Very easy to find and relatively central to Barnstaple town centre. The flat is on the top floor so be aware that there are four flights of steep, but carpeted, stairs to negotiate. All worth it though as the room, kitchenette and bathroom are compact and amenable.

A perfect stopover for us - own bathroom and kitchenette on the same floor was perfect. Location central for shops and restaurants

What a beautiful place to stay - 2 minutes from Barnstaple and a short drive to the beautiful beaches of Croyde, Putsborough and Woolacombe. Emily made us feel very welcome and gave us some great tips whilst we were there - particularly good/cheap parking places! The cream tea she delivered on the first day was a lovely gesture and we thoroughly enjoyed such a warm welcome to Devon! The apartment had ample space for the 2 of us and had all we needed to cook and prepare picnics! Thanks Emily - we will definitely be back!!

Great location for exploring Barnstaple and Exmoor, rural and scenic but only minutes away from town. Plenty of walks on your doorstep which is handy if you are visiting with a dog. A comfortable space with very relaxed and welcoming hosts.

Emily made us feel very welcome and storm as well, did'nt think he would get use to it being first time away from home but he did and enjoyed playing with Emily's dog too.cream coffee's and scones went down well after our long journey.

Great location for exploring and having the comfort of coming back to a quiet, comfortable, and cosy place to stay in the countryside. Plenty of space for the two of us, i also loved the outside table to sit in the sun in the morning. This place is perfect for what we needed. The hosts were so lovely, made the stay very welcoming, so thank you! Nice touch with the cream tea as well. We would definitely consider staying here again if we come back.

Myself, my husband and our 18 year old daughter have just returned for a short break. Emily our host was really lovely and helpful with basic local information. The property itself was also lovely but very small! The description provides as suggested a double bedroom and a double futon in the living area, but realistically the annex itself is only big enough for 1 couple & maybe a small child as the toilet/shower room is tiny and the kitchen only supplies 2 chairs for the table. No ironing board, wardrobe or washing machine all of which would have been a bonus, especially if, like us guests have nothing but wet weather for their entire stay! Having somewhere to hang wet clothes or wash laundry would have been a big help! The linen and towels provided where fresh and clean but the general cleanliness was a little disappointing. The property is located in a lovely part of the world and I would recommend a stay, especially if a few of these issues where addressed!

If you are looking for a place to stay in Barnstaple then I would highly recommend staying at this very homely & pretty apartment. It is so close to everything you will need, it's just a few minutes walk away to the town centre with lots of shops for everything you may need to buy. The apartment is close to the river & the cycle trail, we ended up doing a 34mile cycle along the old train line. We always had good communication with the host who was also very helpful with the car parking space. The apartment itself was very clean & had everything we needed for our stay. I saw that there were a good range of books and DVDs to chose from also a tv & radio if you just want to stay in and chill out. My favourite part of the apartment was the view of the river side & the beautiful sunset everyday & we were lucky to see a rainbow over the bridge after it had been raining that day & the sun came out.

We really enjoyed our overnight stay. Fabulous apartment very clean and everything we needed wonderful views also! Francoise was a great host very welcoming and we did not feel we had to rush off the following day.

Location.Excellent,very central for exploring surrounding areas.Barnstaple train station within walking distance , direct train to Exeter runs every hour. House decor very modern, clean, views over the estuary.

Francoise met us at the RR station and drove us to the flat - greatly appreciated and well beyond the norm. Her flat is lovely and just as shown in the photos. My family : (2 teens), husband & 2 dogs had a wonderful time. The barn was well equipped & cosy. I loved the styling of the barn & there was enough space for us all - including our own little court yard. Claire's parents were very friendly & made us feel at home. The view from the kitchen window was fabulous! A great setting!

I booked the little barn for my boyfriend's birthday weekend. We were welcomed into the barn by their lovely dog Maggie which our dog loved! Jackie and Claire couldn't be more welcoming. The barn was beautiful and had everything we needed, Claire's husband even gave us some bread to save us making a trip out on Sunday morning! The barn is in a perfect location, being very close to Barnstaple yet you feel like you are in the middle of no where - utter peace and quiet! Overall we couldn't be happier with our stay and would thoroughly recommend the little barn, we will definitely be back! Thank you once again!

Claire's place was really lovely & my husband & I had a great time! It's tucked away down a long track in an old farmyard with chickens, dogs, a horse & guinea pigs to keep you company! Incredibly welcoming and relaxing stay in a house with plenty of space to offer. Hosted generously with great food and great organisation. Use of the garden was a surprise but welcome inclusion. Host accommodated changes of timings and plans on arrival and was both open to chat and gave space to guests to enjoy their stay.

Our stay at The Poplars was excellent. Our host Maggi made us feel both welcomed and welcome to share her home. Nothing was to much trouble. We had little surprise cakes each time we came back. Breakfast we excellent and the list of local places to eat was very comprehensive.

Chris left the keys at a late opening pub which was very helpful as the drive from London meant we arrived late. The street and the building itself is very pretty with a decent pub opposite. The apartment is huge and could easily fit twice our number in there. We were really happy and would be back any time.

We stayed here on a road trip from Devon to London for one evening. Arriving late in the evening key pickup was easy at the local pub. The flat itself was huge! Lots of space for people. We left very early in the morning (7am) to be on our way. Parking out the back was tight - and we misinterpreted the directions about which space to park in and were left a note by one of the other tenants- but it is convenient. The town of Barnstaple is a very short 5 minute walk past a city park and hosts Costa Coffee, Boston Tea Party, etc. Key drop-off at the pub was also a breeze.
