  • Everything you could need for a break away from it all. A stunning place, both inside and out. So many adorable features, found myself keep wandering into the downstairs bedroom and saying over and again how cute it was! Despite coronavirus partial lockdown beginning while we were there, the owners did everything to provide what we needed without coming into any contact with us. A perfect getaway. Highly recommend

  • Had a lovely stay at Hedgerow Barn, lovely touches with the biscuits coffee, teas, milk, and flowers. Found the barn very cosy and inviting, loved watching all the birds on the feeders. Would love to come back and visit during the summer months. Had a very relaxing time, thank you Nicky and Denzil :)

  • A beautiful, quaint stay! There were 4 of us with 2 dogs and the space was perfect. The upstairs bedroom is very spacious, the downstairs bedroom is small but we loved it! So cosy! We spent every day going on long local walks to the local pubs and spent each evening playing board games with a glass of wine. The kitchen and living room space is a perfect size - and had everything we needed. Thoughtful touches were added - especially the yummy biscuits!

  • Nicky & Denzil’s place was perfect! Exactly as it was described and had everything we needed. We wanted to book a space that allowed us to chill out and explore. It was just over an hour to Southwold which was perfect for us! It was clean and tidy and had everything we needed to make delicious dinners. Little touches, biscuits (for us and the dogs) and flowers. We felt relaxed and at home. We were four adults and the space was perfect for us. Thank you very much. We will be back.

Only 1/2 hour away from Cambridge on the train, Bury is a lovely historic town built on a medieval grid. My Victorian house is on a quiet street and in the town centre, and the room has bunk beds so is ideal for young people travelling together.
This room is ideal for two young people travelling together - sleeping in adult-size, comfortable bunk beds, or for one person. You can have use of the kitchen to prepare your meals, and use the fridge, cooker and washing machine, as well as all crockery and utensils.
Bury is large enough to be interesting and have lots to do and see, but small enough to walk around and not get lost. It is very old and has amazing churches and a cathedral, public gardens and many medieval buildings.
  • It's the 2nd time I've stayed A nice pleasant stay , highly recommended

    Richard2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Karen was very accommodating, was very quick to response and was happy to take a booking at very short notice, the room is bigger than it appears in the photos, it was comfortable and very close to the town centre.

    Myles2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Karen's house is the perfect place to stay in the heart of Bury St Edmunds. She was very kind and welcoming and she has the sweetest dog. Everything was just as I expected it to be from the listing and I would not hesitate to stay there again. Thank you Karen

Bury Saint Edmunds, Suffolk, United Kingdom

A period detached country cottage with great character and charm and modern amenities in the heart of Suffolk near Bury St Edmunds and Cambridge. We have successfully hosted family reunions, wedding parties, friend and family get-togethers and hen parties. Set in a rural village, bracing country walks abound, most ending in splendid country pubs -- indeed an award-winning country pub is at hand. Accommodation for 8 - 12 persons (stretching to 14) @ an average cost of £30-45pp.
The Cottage sleeps 9 comfortably and two large sofas with bedding & sleeping bags provided allow 10/12 within the House at a push. An Annex room above the garage sleeps an additional 3 with shower, bathroom and tea/coffee facilities, and is available for a modest additional cleaning charge. This is a charming country cottage in a pristine rural setting. This period detached property offers relaxed, comfortable and modern accommodation with many period features and great character. Perfect for weekend getways as the accommodation is quite flexible and lends itself very well to a reunion of friends and family groups of all ages.
Bury St Edmunds is a charming market town with an impressive ruined Abbey set in a great park. The town itself is bustling with many attractive shops and great restaurants and pubs. Try a pint in The Nutshell, Britain's smallest pub in the town centre. Moyses Hall Museum also in the centre has many local curiosities. A range of excellent shopping is available in Bury. Market days are Wednesdays and Saturdays when trader stalls take over the town centre selling fresh local produce, cheese, meats and assorted other goods. There is also a local farm shop, complete with tea room, in Depden, the next village beyond Rede.
  • We had a fantastic stay with the host very helpful and the house lovely. I actually don't think the pictures do the house justice in terms of size of the rooms and how aesthetically pleasing the house is.

    Sebastian2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • I spent a weekend in this lovely cottage to celebrate my 60th birthday with 5 friends. We had an amazing time relaxing in this well equipped, cosy and spacious accommodation. Everything we needed was here. A nice touch was the welcome package which included snacks and Prosecco. The Plough pub was recommended by Eric and did not disappoint. We had a delicious Sunday lunch and the staff were so friendly. We would love to stay here again.

    Sally2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Eric’s place is charming cosy and in a beautiful location. There was plenty of space for our group and we loved being all together in the large dining room. The local pub (The Plough) is fantastic we had a delicious lunch here. There are scenic walks from the door and pretty Bury St Edmunds is a short drive away. Thanks for a lovely New Years break!

    Emily2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Eric's house was the perfect place for our family Christmas. The photos in the listing don't do it justice. The space is warren-like, with three sitting room spaces (one with a fire place) and a dining room on the ground floor. The master bedroom above the snug sitting room is completely dreamy; high, beamed ceiling and an en-suite shower. Just fab. Above the kitchen are two bedrooms, a guest bathroom and an office with a single bed in it. We didn't use the annex but the garage utility room was great for food prep/storage and laundry etc. The kitchen has everything you need - big double oven with separate grill and tonnes of pots, pans and plates. Sound travels in the house, so don't gossip about your sister or do anything else noisy, to save blushes. If you're tall, practice ducking before staying as it's a historic house with some very low beams and ceilings. There isn't much in the village within walking distance... apart from a pub, which happens to be possibly THE friendliest pub I have EVER been to (I've been to lots) and opposite the house is a red phone box, repurposed as a tiny library - so you really have all you need within a few steps of the house. In short this is a great place for get-togethers, big meals and chats by the fire.

    Alice2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay out in the country, a stone’s throw from a pub with great food.

    Melissa2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic house in a great location. Full of character have to watch the low beams!

    Kate2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is such a beautiful house and was perfect for our weekend away with friends. The dinner room very much became our hub and it was the perfect size for our group.

    Suzie2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely stay at this gorgeous, historic house. The home was a wonderful base for our weekend and the surrounding area is just beautiful. The hospitality was perfect and I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks for such a superb space to the host.

  • We had a lovely night away at Kerry’s place. It’s beautifully designed and very comfortable, with everything you could possibly need to relax and recharge. The living room feels like a home cinema, complete with bar, and is perfect for a movie night, which made my husband very happy. For walking, the location is amazing, with direct access to Ickworth and we will definitely be back to explore again later. Kerry is a lovely, friendly host and this was a five star stay in every way.

Located off a quiet country lane, this barn annexe is a great place to unwind in peaceful surroundings. The spacious enclosed garden has uninterrupted far reaching views of this wonderful constable countryside. There is an abundance of foot paths and wild life all around the property and only a 10 mins walk to the village of Hartest which has a great country pub. Close to market town of Bury St Edmunds and villages of Lavenham and Long Melford this is a perfect place to explore suffolk.
The property is set back from a quiet country lane at the end of sweeping driveway. With separate access from the main house, leading to an entrance hall with plenty of space for shoes, coats, boots and even pets. There is a large main lounge/dining area with 49 inch smart TV, comfy corner sofa and pitched ceiling with beams making the whole area feel very spacious. Leading from the living area there is a bathroom with bath and shower attachment, kitchen and stairs to the twin bedroom which is in the eaves of the barn. This room has far reaching country views and is ideal for children. The large master bedroom has king size bed, open pitched ceiling and countryside views. BBQ and seating area is located in own private garden to the front of the Annexe. The surrounding fields are a real haven for wildlife including resident Barn owls, little owls and at night badgers passing through. There is also lots of wild deer. Care should be taken when driving up the lane especially at night to make sure they are avoided.
Hartest is a beautiful village set around a picturesque, traditional Suffolk village green, complete with award wining pub serving great food with a large garden and children's play-frame to the rear. Plenty of footpaths all around with stunning scenery. Bury St Edmunds is a very pretty market town with an abundance of independent shops, bars and restaurants, historical buildings, a cathedral and gardens, and is located approximately 20 minutes away by car. The pretty (large) village of Long Melford is an approximate 10 minute drive; it offers a good choice of coffee shops, pubs, independent shops, PO, pharmacy, general stores and a Co-Op. The famous, historical wool town of Lavenham is also a short drive away. Should you wish to go further afield, the University City of Cambridge is an approximate 45 minute drive. There is a butcher on the village green and a good general store and PO in nearby Glemsford.
  • We booked this place to have some quite and peace. We’ve got what we wanted and we have done it in a very stylish and unique environment. We loved every details of the barn... Kitchen is very well equipped and there is a dishwasher as well. Floorheating was a big plus for us. Bathroom is very nice too. Jon is very kind and responsive, we had no issues at all. Looking forward to visit it again.

My beautifully presented apartment is situated in the old market town of Sudbury. Just a three minute walk from the town centre, Sudbury offers great restaurants, bars a theatre and boat trips along the river Stour. The house of Thomas Gainsborough is also within walking distance of which is now a national museum. Our market is every Thursday and Saturday which offers a variety of fresh veg, meat and fish. • What a find! Peters apartment is 7 minutes walk into town where there was much more to do than I expected. His apartment was very clean and beautifully decorated. His eye for design is obvious and inspired me and my friend! The apartment had everything we needed and was very cosy. Perfect for me and my friend meeting halfway between North Norfolk and West Sussex for chinwags and crochet! Peter also recommended Padro for lunch in town and we loved it so much we went back for breakfast the following day. Really enjoyed our break in Sudbury, and would recommend and return to Peter's apartment without a shadow of a doubt.

Flat is small but fine for one or two people, clean and with everything provided, efficient heating system, a pleasant place to come back to in the evening. On a quiet road so no problems with noise. Peter was there to meet me when I arrived, very helpful and welcoming. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

Private small single room , does contain some personal items. New mattress, comfy bed. Quiet single country road a rural location, no street lighting. We provide an extensive breakfast. Quiant, homely, friendly atmosphere with pets. Country walks and lots of wildlife. This 'one pub' village is located by a golf course. Sudbury is set between ; Ipswich , Bury St Edmunds and Colchester. London is about 1 1/2 hrs away via motorway A12 or 50min by train. Our house is a home from home.
Our space is a home with animals in the countryside. It is quiet, small but has a big welcome. We are unexceptional, but it is a very personal service, intimate but relaxed and laid back. we're open and none judgemental so you can come and go freely.
Mostly quiet, there are some neighbours with families

Perfect for us - two guys on bikes doing a bit of touring round Suffolk - as we could store our bikes safely, shower and chill out after our ride, and then stroll out five minutes up the street to enjoy Bury St Edmunds' range of atmospheric cafes, bars and pubs. We enjoyed the free basic breakfast too!

A 3-bedroomed detached house, with lots of light and great views. Situated in a quiet neighbourhood, it's a quick 5 min drive into Sudbury town centre, or the silk factories and Gainsbourgh House museum. Alternatively, If you fancy watching the swans and signets along the river and water meadows, it's a 5 minute walk. We're also a 5 minute bike ride to Nethergage brewery. Off street parking is available and overall, it's a wonderful location from which to explore the Suffolk countryside.
Happy for you to cook - basic food and space are always available in the fridge/ freezer. In addition to seats in the kitchen there are also seats outside in the garden.
Sudbury is a rural market town with train links to London. Known for being the birth place of the painter, Gainsbourgh (now a national museum) and silk weaving, it also has river cruises in the summer, an abundance of wildlife in the water meadows (swans, herons, ducks, cows) and a wave swimming pool. All in all, a great base from which to discover Suffolk. In addition, the church which sits at the top of the market place has been deconsecrated and is now an entertainment venue
  • I’ve stayed at 5 different places in Sudbury (for work), and this is by far the best I’ve stayed in. Can’t recommend enough.

  • The place is really well set up. Recommended. An annex to a modern house on a recently built estate just outside central Bury St Edmunds. Spotless, looks like very recently decorated, plenty of space and nice touches like microwave, fresh milk, breakfast things. Completely self contained and private. I had a comfortable night's sleep and will book again if I need to stay over in Bury. Same price as Dragonfly hotel but a much nicer experience.

Angel Apartment is a light and spacious upper floor flat in a Victorian House. It has its own private entrance and and front garden. It also has a bathroom ,Kitchen, Lounge and Bedroom. Glemsford has many Tudor houses and is surrounded by lots of pretty villages to visit including Long Melford , Cavendish and Clare. There is lots to see and do including pubs , Antiques and National Trust Properties to visit. Lavenham is only 15 mins away with the popular Crooked Tea shop and NT Guild Hall.
  • Clean and spacious, was ideal for us as my partner was working locally. Sad to not be able to try any local amenities as the pubs and restaurants lockdown commenced this weekend but kitchen was well equipped for us to have dinner indoors. Had a really nice but short stay, will have to revisit when everything is back to normal!

This is a Unique and cosy space situated on the edge of town with parking and a 15 minute walk into centre or short taxi ride. There is a comfortable sitting area, super-king pod style bed to climb into. full en-suite, fridge, microwave, tea and coffee making, TV with Amazon stick and with swing bracket for living area or bed. It is a detached building, accessed through a gate directly from the drive. Hot tub may also be made available at a pre-arranged price. Friendly dogs maybe allowed?
The structure is a fully insulated timber framed building with private access through patio doors off our patio area. It is a lovely quiet and private space, unlike most hotel rooms. The sleeping area is Super King so 2m wide and just under 1m tall so you have to climb in which makes it very cosy and a bit quirky. A great base to visit this lovely town.
If this is a first visit to Bury St Edmunds then you won't be disappointed. Lots of history and a great town centre with plenty of shops, cafe's and restaurants. There are also some lovely country pubs and one recommendation would be the Hawkedon Queen. About 15 minutes drive. All home cooked food. There is a popular Green King pub(The spread Eagle) 3-4 minutes walk away.

Pretty cellar room in a quiet house with use of the kitchen, bathroom, living room and all facilities. I am not often in the house so your time will be more private than an average room.
The house is a little bit bohemian when you first come through the living room but the cellar room is a very tranquil quiet area with neutral colours and a comfy double bed.
There is easy access to the town centre which is a very short walk away along just one road, access by road to the A14 is very simple too.

We booked a room and as she wasn’t there we had the run of the house so on price it was a steal. I love all the environmental products and attention to detail. Artist flair in the house is paramount along with culture and travel. Brilliantly placed for the town literally a 5-10 min walk. Off street parking was easy. Along with essentials like milk tea coffee etc. Thank you for the chocolate and birthday wishes. I feel like I know you already!

  • Jo's place is a delight! Lovely cosy home that's a short and beautiful walk through the Abbey gardens to the city center. The bed is ridiculously comfortable, and even though I didn't get to meet Jo she was super helpful and kind over the phone and made everything a breeze.

The ensuite double bedroom is annexed to the main house - a stunning 15th century barn conversion, and has its own lockable entrance ensuring privacy. It is decorated in a light contemporary fashion with a further toilet and entrance hallway forming part of the annex. There's parking space in the cart lodge for guests to use. The room has wifi, tv, mini-fridge, microwave, kettle, tea/coffee, 2 seat sofa, toaster, cutlery, iron & ironing board, hair dryer and toileteries.
Our home is located in a conservation area at the heart of rural Suffolk with Lavenham only 3 miles away, and a number of other popular tourist attractions including Bury St Edmunds, Long Melford, Kersey, Bildeston, Hartest, Clare and Cavendish all a short drive away. Newmarket and Cambridge are under an hour away.
Cross Green is the only conservation area in Cockfield which was nominated as Suffolk village of the year in 2012. There are many places to explore in the area and numerous traditional country pubs to visit. Cross Green is a hamlet of around 50 houses with countryside all around, so there are many walks and places to explore in the area.

  • Comfortable, attractive, clean and well equipped rooms. Despite being attached to the main house, we had complete privacy. Check in and out was quick and easy. Didier was friendly and offered advice on local restaurants and pubs. We will certainly return to this property when we are next visiting this part of Suffolk.

  • We had a really positive experience of staying at Didier's place. We were met by Didier on arrival, who gave us some great tips on places to visit and eat in the surrounding area, then showed us to the beautiful flat. All in all a great stay - and we especially appreciated the croissants he left out for us! Would highly recommend. Tom and Amy

Sitting pretty in a wild flower meadow surrounded by open fields, this barn conversion is countryside simplicity at its best: updated appliances and rustic furniture arranged for open-plan living to relax unwind and enjoy the tranquil surroundings.
The barn is located in the meadow behind our thatched cottage. The space is entirely your own and is self catered with a well equipped open plan kitchen.
Enjoy pastoral tranquility here whilst being within an easy 10-minute reach of the medieval charm of Lavenham. Public footpaths are close by or venture further afield to admire the beautiful Cathedral in Bury St Edmunds.
  • A great place to relax and enjoy countryside. A massive thank you to Sue & Mark.

    Milda2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Spotlessly clean accommodation like new, great facilities, great communication, peaceful, wildlife spotting from the sofa, private, rural location close to great pubs and walks as well as beautiful villages. Highly recommend.

    Katie2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Sue and Mark are fantastic hosts and went out of their way to make us feel at home. They gave us a warm welcome and showed us around and gave us tips on the local area including a great local pub, the 6 Bells, for dinner. The barn is gorgeous and spacious and the views are incredible. I’d thoroughly recommend Sue & Mark’s place to other guests.

    Sam2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Sue was very responsive and Mark was very welcoming and helped us check-in. The place was really nice and quiet just like what we wanted. Worth recommended and we wouldn't mind coming back.

    Jingkee2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • This is a truly stunning little space if you are looking for a countryside retreat away from the city. It has everything you need if you want to stay in, self cater and chill, from a full kitchen to amazon prime and Netflix. However if you love a walk and a country pub with character and a fire then you are spoilt on this front too. Will 100% be back

    Steve2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the barn was the perfect location for a family Christmas getaway. The barn itself was clean and beautifully decorated and we were so touched by the Christmas decorations and a little Christmas tree which made our stay extra special and made us feel at home. Upon arrival we found a jar of honey from their own bees and a postcard which made us feel welcome. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook a Christmas dinner and there were even board games in the cupboard for us to play afterwards. We also appreciated the binoculars which we used to have a closer look at all the wildlife just outside our window. We were thrilled to spot pheasants, muntjac deer, hares and even an owl during our stay. The barn is a perfect place to relax and slow down for a few days.

    Driton2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect bolthole for a weekend relaxing, just what was needed. Loved seeing all the wildlife from the sofa too. Close to lots of nice cosy pubs. Sue and Mark are absolutely lovely and leave you to it once they have made sure you are comfortable - they even lent us wellies following the onslaught of rain in the previous few days! Thank you :)

    Helen2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • A peaceful and beautiful place to stay if you want to escape the city. Spacious, clean and homely, the barn is really a home away from home. Sue and Mark are excellent hosts who made us feel very welcome.

Welcoming basic accommodation within walking distance of Bury St Edmunds town centre (about 20 minutes) and train station (about 10 minutes). Plenty of parking, pub that does food, 24 hour petrol station/mini shop and supermarkets nearby. Happy to advise on places to visit, and chat if that's what you want and I'm around.
Bury St Edmunds is a lovely historic town, with plenty to do and see. The Abbey Gardens are stunning, there is a good market twice a week, and some interesting historic buildings. Good range of shops, both independent and chain, and variety of eating places. Easy access to Cambridge and London.

  • Jen was super relaxed and also left me a biscuit on arrival which came in handy one night! Couldn’t have asked for more.

    Sam2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Jen has been a wonderful host who is very warm and welcoming. She has been very attentive to any of my needs and I had an absolutely wonderful time staying there. Although regrettably only for one night. If I am at that area again I would most definitely stay with her again.

    Irena2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Greeted with a warm welcome, Jen showed me to my room (which looks even better and spacious in person). The room was clean, a kettle is placed in the corner with choices of hot beverages. You can even use the kitchen facilities, cooked my dinner and had a lovely chat with Jen and her friend. Good company! And I travel to university which is convenient for me as the accommodation is closer to the train station. Will definitely visit Jen again.

    Criszel2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, super comfy bed and warm! Jen is very welcoming and relaxed so I didn't feel in the way and I could come and go as I pleased (which really suited me as I was working). Breakfast was great and all the various hot chocolates and teas in the room were a great touch. Also Lynne who is staying there temporarily in another room is really friendly and great company. Overall I had a perfect stay.

Bridewell Cottage sleeps 4 people and is located in the very heart of Bury St Edmunds Suffolk. This enchanting spot is home to the famous Abbey Gardens, Cathedral and buzzing market. Surrounded by traditional pubs, fabulous restaurants, independent shops, it is a truly captivating place to explore. All guests will receive a welcome hamper which will include tea, coffee, crumpets, milk, port and gin and tonics. Hope you enjoy :-) Parking is available for £10 a day a few minutes walk away.
Guests have access to the whole property and a sunny charming courtyard garden. I keep the cellar locked for my own cleaning products. There are two out buildings in the garden. One holds the general waste and recycling bins and the other is used for my personal DIY storage. I would recommend keeping children and infants out of both the out buildings.
The cottage is set in the sought after area of the medieval grid. Close by you have the beautiful Abbey Gardens and Cathedral. Around the corner you have the award winning restaurant Maison Bleu. I highly recommend you book in advance. If your looking to be in the central hub of Bury St Edmunds look no further.

  • Absolutely stunning cottage, traditional but with a fabulous lux modern twist; Cosy, comfortable, romantic and spotlessly clean. Beautiful flooring throughout, a gorgeous copper bath, well equipped kitchen and the loveliest window dressings. Katie was very responsive to messages and the welcome pack goes above and beyond what you’d expect for the very reasonable price of this let. I’d stay again in a heartbeat and thoroughly recommend to couples. Dog friendly too!

  • You won’t want to leave! We didn’t! From the moment we booked Katie was an amazing host. She was quick to respond to our questions and happy to help with anything we asked. The cottage itself is perfect. Beautifully designed and so homely. The photos do not do it enough justice. And Katie’s little personal touches can be found in every room. The cottage is in a central location in Lavenham. Literally a few steps from some great restaurants/bars. We will definitely be returning!

No.24 is Lavenham's newest boutique holiday home that opened in July 2019. The Grade ll listed terrace is believed to have been built in 1896, and has just been fully renovation. I have carefully selected beautiful homewares to ensure you'll have maximum comfort during your stay with luxurious bedding, toiletries and towels, and a special welcome hamper. No. 24 has a pretty courtyard perfect for four and private parking - both sort after in Lavenham! Suited for a romantic or family get away.
No.24 is located on Lavenham's historic high street which once saw the hustle and bustle of the village's famous wool trade. Now a days on the high street, you'll find quirky shops and delicious foodie treats all set in the wonderful crooked buildings. The house has just been fully renovation from top to bottom and comes with the huge bonus of a garden and parking. My vision has always been to make guests feel like they experience luxury hotel touches, but in the comfort of a home. With this in mind, at No.24 you'll find; Siberian goose down bedding, large Egyptian cotton towels, bathrobes, luxury Cowshed toiletries, crystal glassware, cocktail making equipment and a coffee machine (with pods), but you'll also find home comforts like cosy throws, cooking books and all the kitchen equipment you could need to make delicious dinners. For families, I can provide a stair gate, high chair, travel cot, fluffy baby towel, suitable cups/plates etc for little ones and a selection of toys. Please do let me know in advance so I can get these bits ready for you. To note, the travel cot is suitable from birth up to 36 months, up to 13kgs or a height of 85cm. No.24's ground floor is open plan, with high ceilings, you'll find; a lounge, brand new kitchen with solid oak worktops, and diner that opens onto the sunny courtyard garden that has a table for four, causal seats and a BBQ. The gardenleads on to the private parking space, which is a real bonus for Lavenham as parking can be in demand with the village being so popular for visitors. There is also a small cloakroom downstairs. There is a fabulous new heating system, but if you're like me and love a glass of wine by the fire, you can use the log burner in the lounge. From October - March, kindling, logs and lighting equipment will be left out for you to use. You should be quite toasty! In the lounge there is also comfy seating, a Smart TV, DVD player and free wifi. Upstairs is a bathroom (large shower, toilet and sink unit) with Cowshed toiletries (as seen in top London hotels) for you to use during your stay - will you choose to be relaxed or invigorated? As there is no bath I can provide a baby bath for little ones. Bedroom one has a super king bed and dressing table, and as a treat you can watch TV in bed. Bedroom two can either have two small single beds or one king - as standard it is made into a king so please let me know if you would like a twin set up. The Cowshed pillow mist should help you drift off to a wonderful night's sleep. If you're looking for peace and relaxation, there are some beautiful walks around Lavenham, in particular I would recommend the Lavenham to Long Melford railway walk. If you have a well trained, small dog you're welcome to bring them along to enjoy your break, please do let me know in advance though so I can make sure your pups stay is as comfy as yours. Lavenham is well connected to surrounding towns and villages with a bus service, the bus stop is just a few minutes walk away. Information will be available at the house. To top all this off, I'll leave a welcome hamper for you with some bits to get you started and some treats. If you have any questions, or you would like to book over Christmas or New Year please drop me a line.
There are lots of beautiful sites to see and yummy places to eat and drink in Lavenham, from a glass of wine at The Angel on the square, handmade ice cream at The Parlour, to tapas at the Greyhound, the list goes on! I'm more than happy to help with recommendations.

  • Number 24 is a gem! Perfectly situated and very stylish. The bed is very comfortable and everything sparkling clean. Lots of very thoughtful touches which we much appreciated. We were made to feel very welcome and our dogs were too. As an Airbnb host myself I learnt a lot from Hanna, and you can’t say more than that! Thanks for a lovely stay in beautiful Lavenham.

  • Lovely modern accommodation in central Lavenham. Loved staying in this newly renovated apartment with a gorgeous new bathroom and kitchen. Hanna had gone right out of her way to provide an allergy free convenience pack including gluten free bread and treats as well as beautiful fresh eggs, milk. Such a thoughtful and appreciated gesture. I loved using the toiletries, bath robe. Lots of soap and dishwashing tablets provided to keep it all fresh. We had a bit of a glitch one morning and Hanna was quick to respond and had it sorted straight away. The kitchen is well equipped with Olive oil, butter, salt pepper, foil etc. so that you can cook. This is a great apartment to stay in, there are some steep stairs to the upper floor for those with mobility issues but otherwise just beautiful.

  • We absolutely loved Number 24 in Lavenham. A gorgeous space, perfect for a relaxing break for our small family. Hanna was so helpful, with excellent information and answers to our questions, as well as such thoughtful touches for us and our small baby. We’d love to stay again!

  • We visited the house for a combined 18th birthday for my son, 80th for my mum and Christmas. This house is located ideally in Lavenham, walking distance to all the local amenities and with private parking which is rare in Lavenham and a premium perk of this house. The house is immaculate and well presented. It comes with everything that we needed and fit the three of us comfortably. Hanna was a great host, clear and timely communications and some really nice personal touches were left for us in the house. The birthday cake for my son was very touching. I cannot praise this accommodation and Hanna enough.

  • Absolutely gorgeous stay. Design of house is so well thought out. House was immaculate too! We had our two 18 month old boys with us and it was a thoroughly lovely stay. Hanna put up festive decorations and it just made our stay even more special. Hanna is a wonderful host and super quick to reply. Thank you!

Cosy, terraced cottage close to the centre of the historical town of Bury St Edmunds . The property is in a great location to access main tourist attractions, including Abbey Gardens and the Cathedral, all within walking distance. Main chain-stores, shops, cafes restaurants, real ale pubs and fine dining if required.
This is a home from home property with a well equipped kitchen and facilities. It has much prized off road parking for two cars at rear of the property, small garden at front and rear, garden furniture so guests can enjoy the early morning and evening summer sun.
Quiet neighbourhood, close to thriving allotment garden community.
  • Located conveniently in the heart of Bury. Neat, warm, clean and cosy property. Lynn and Andy are extremely friendly, welcoming and provided valuable advice for our stay. We had a great stay.

  • We would thoroughly recommend Lynn’s place. We loved our stay and how close it was to Bury St Edmunds centre. It was the perfect cosy spot to retreat to after a day out exploring the Christmas market. Definitely will be back again. Thanks for making us so welcome Lynn xx

  • This is a comfortable cottage in a great location for the town. Easy walk into centre of town plus more local eateries within a 5 minute stroll. Great shower, good wi fi, warm and a cosy sitting room to snuggle up in. We certainly hope to return.

  • A great stay in a very centrally located cottage with the essential 3 Cs: cosy, comfy and clean! The fact that there's parking is a huge bonus in busy Bury. Lynn couldn't have been more helpful - an excellent host!

  • A charming and very comfortable home from home, perfectly placed for a walk into Bury St Edmunds. The friendly and communicative hosts respect privacy, but are on hand to help if required. Highly recommended.

  • Lynn and Andy's cottage is a great space to stay and explore Bury. Super clean and well stocked and Lynn communicates very quickly

  • A snug, historic cottage on a quiet street, about ten minutes from the town square. On Wednesdays and Saturdays there is a public market on the upper street in town with fresh produce, sheepskins and the like. The train station is a fifteen minute walk. This house had a hot, efficient shower, but we would have liked more than two towels in the bathroom.
