“A cosy cottage kitted out to a very high standard. Handy location for Staithes, Whitby, Saltburn and the North York Moors railway and good network of paths from the cottage. Be aware that the road is a bit rough and parking fairly tight. The bathrooms are cosy but you do have 2. The view of Boulby Mine was a surprise, but other directions have lovely views. Overall, we loved it.”
Newly refurbished ground floor cottage, including new kitchen, bathroom and quality oak furniture. Gloriously located in the heart of the North York Moors, these former stables have been expertly converted and enjoy a peaceful riverside setting alongside a picturesque caravan Park. The cottage is one of five, immaculately presented and equipped to a very high standard. Surrounded by spectacular countryside River View is an excellent choice for a family holiday or a relaxing break with friends.
“The cottage is fantastic. We travelled as a family of 3 (baby only 3 months) and found everything we needed at the place and more; the kitchen and all other amenities were excellent and well equipped. It was big enough that we could have had another 2 adults with us comfortably. Being able to have breakfast in the sunny courtyard - including fresh baked pastries made to order from the site shop - was a lovely way to start our days. The location is perfect for exploring - we spent a day in Whitby and another on the steam train from Pickering - both only a short drive away. We will be returning again 😊”
Characterful and quaint 3 bedroom Grade II listed cottage, built in 1800 with open plan living. Within easy walking distance of many shops, tea rooms, restaurants, pubs and the castle, there is parking very close by. Castlegate cottage is a perfect base for exploring the many local attractions and places of interest, such as The Steam railway, Beck Isle museum, The North Yorkshire Moors, Whitby, Scarborough, Flamingo Land, Eden Camp, Dalby Forest and York.
“This is a fantastic cottage that is spacious, welcoming and in the perfect location. We were there just before “lockdown” so we didn’t get the chance to properly explore Pickering but this cottage was the perfect place to stay inside! We had our dogs with us and they enjoyed the nearby walks around the castle and town and I’m sure we’ll all be back in the future!”
