What a great find with fantastic friendly hosts. Claire and Seb have a great little place right near the beach. So cozy and easy to settle into. It is by a main road (as they mentioned and the only reason I didn’t give location a 5 star) but it wasn’t a distraction (fans and heat pump made it easy to not notice). They even supply ear plugs if you were a sensitive sleeper and can’t block it out. The beach is right across from their drive and a great place to sit and listen to the waves crash. And the bed is super comfy! Seriously, don’t swipe past this Air B&B. We definitely plan to come back for a longer stay!

The place is blessed with an awesome view. It lights up with fantastic colours in the morning and the moon rises right behind the mountains, with premium front seats from inside the hot tub. It is far from the city, but the host puts so much care and effort into providing the room with all that’s needed that you don’t really feel the need to be anywhere else. Our routine was great, petting baby cows in the morning, breakfast with a view, walk down to the river, then bubbles in the hot tub in the afternoon. All the plant ornaments inside and around the room were real. The good memories the place provided were real. But we still cannot believe we saw two shooting stars going across each other at night. Melissa’s place was perfect for our 3-night stay in Hawkes Bay. Only a 20-min drive north to Napier, a 30-min drive south to Waimarama Beach, within walking distance of The Figgery and a short drive to the town centre and Hastings. Our favourite part was relaxing on the deck overlooking the pear orchard. It was comfortable, clean, well-equipped and in a great neighbourhood. We would highly recommend!
