The Markthaus is a historic gem and is a listed building, designated as the first hostel in Saxon Switzerland. Directly from the property you can hike to the Schrammsteine, the Kohlbornstein or the Rathmannsdorfer lookout tower. All other highlights of Saxon and Bohemian Switzerland can be reached quickly by car or public transport.

Our house is a 270-year-old timber-framed house that we have lovingly renovated and remodeled. As far as possible, we have preserved or restored the old wooden floorboards or wooden framework. Our garden is designed in such a way that living beings that are native there can still feel comfortable, such as salamanders, hedgehogs, fireflies, kingfishers and wild bees. Anyone who stays in the garden for a long time can observe these many rare inhabitants in our garden.

The apartment is nicely spacious and airy. Thanks to the many windows, it is not only flooded with light and friendly when the sun shines, but also cosy through the wood stove. The one bedroom is slightly larger and - matching the Elbe sandstone mountains – has a great flair thanks to an exposed old sandstone wall. The other is wonderfully bright. In both bedrooms there are reading lamps. The dove blue and white tiled bathroom is equipped with toilet, sink and shower.
