Farmstay holiday rentals in Pennington County

My husband and I stayed here for one night while we explored Badlands National Park. I wish we had gotten to stay more! The property was just gorgeous with the river overlook, and our hosts were great. The breakfast in the morning was fantastic. Our room was comfy and we enjoyed using the kitchen to cook ourselves dinner. Seeing the chickens and burros on the property was also fun. Would definitely stay here versus the other options in the area, no contest.

There were five of us staying at the cottage. Three women upstairs and myself and my husband downstairs it was the perfect layout because of the bathroom downstairs in the basement and the kitchen so that helped all of us organize and be comfortable in planning our meals, showers and bedtime. The house is located right where we needed it to be off the Mickelson and downtown Hill city.

An absolute delight! Excellent directions and a beautiful view and place! The beds were so comfortable and everything was clean and perfect. I cannot recommend this place enough. Would love to stay again!

We had a glorious time in the hills staying at Joy’s little red inn. The kids enjoyed the large front yard for playing and the adults enjoyed the fire and beauty that surrounded the property. We enjoyed being close to Custer and Joy being so responsive to us. We hope she will have us back soon!

Location was perfect! You can see the badlands park right from the property. Amy and Phil were very friendly and good hosts. Even the dogs were very welcoming. I would definitely recommend this place and come back if I’m ever in the area.

I had a one wonderful evening of solitude at the cabin, and I'll return again in a heartbeat with my entire family. What a spectacular spot. The listing makes it clear, but all prospective guests should take note - no plumbing, no electricity. Outhouse/vault is a few steps away from the cabin. You bring your own everything, including bedding. You are completely alone out there, except for the sounds of the birds and the coyotes. Paradise! Note also that the stream was very shallow and silty and not swimmable when I was there in September. Not sure if the level rises much in the spring, but looks like it! Thanks Amy and Phil!

We believe that this is the most beautiful rental we have ever visited! The furnishings and deco were very fitting for the ranch theme (aspen furniture was outstanding!). The furniture and bed were extremely comfortable. The ranch was beautiful and our view from the Aspen Room was gorgeous! We walked amongst the horses and petted them. We took a beautiful hike on the property. The weather didn’t cooperate with us to use the fire pit and hot tub but they were nice features. The rental was extremely clean and had everything that we needed for cooking breakfast and some dinners. We loved the convenience to Custer St. Park, Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, several beautiful lakes. We travelled to Rapid City, Hill City, Keystone, Devils Tower, Badlands, Sturgis, Deadwood and Spearfish Canyon. We had a wonderful visit to the Black Hills and having such a comfortable place to stay made our trip awesome! Thank you Lee Ann!

Beautiful ranch house and property, perfect for a large group, plenty of space, plenty to do nearby, this place is awesome!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this Airbnb for our daughter’s graduation celebration! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The home was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had all the amenities we needed to feel comfortable and relaxed. It truly felt like a home away from home. The outdoor space was perfect for hosting a small gathering with family and friends—it was spacious, well-maintained, and had a warm, welcoming vibe. Our host was incredibly responsive and thoughtful, providing helpful local tips and ensuring everything went smoothly for such a special occasion. This stay made an already meaningful event even more memorable. We’re so grateful to have found such a perfect place to celebrate our daughter’s big achievement. Highly recommend this property to anyone looking for comfort, hospitality, and a touch of something special!

We loved the house and the surroundings. There was enough to do and we took advantage of most of it; the hot tub, the arcade game, the fooseball table, the fire outside.

The Aces and 8 cabin was quiet, beautiful and a comfortable place to stay. We loved our stay there.

Clints was a great host, pointed out where to go and was very personal and friendly. The place looked liked the photos, very peaceful and great scenery and he showed us some new animals, his horse and the dogs where very friendly. I truly recommend stay at Clints house 100 percent and that goes for me staying there again. Thanks Clint you made are stay great.

My family had a great time at Liana's farmhouse. It is a restored old farmhouse with tons of space and everything we needed. The kids loved seeing the animals, they really are all as friendly as the other reviews say. My kids want a Lucy of their own now! We all loved having the hot tub on cold nights and it was so quiet and peaceful. We could drive to every Black Hills attraction and Badlands in about an hour. Rapid City was 15 mins away with stores and restaurants. It was a beautiful place and we'll never forget our South Dakota adventures.

This was one of our favorite Airbnb stays. The place was so clean, cozy, and peaceful—it was just perfect for our family. I loved starting the day with coffee and enjoying the beautiful view. The kids had fun playing in the toy area and hanging out in the loft, and the hot tub was such a relaxing way to end the day after exploring. The location made it really easy to get to places like Mount Rushmore. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you for such a great stay!

This was our first AirBNB rental and all went very smooth. Impressed with the quality of the place including appliances and furniture. Would definitely stay here again if we need a place to stay in the area.

This place was everything, and more! It was awesome being out in your own space! My boys loved exploring the nearby forest, and being able to just run around! The nearby town of Nemo has so much to do and great places to eat! Mount Rushmore and other attractions are close by to enjoy! This place was hands down the best! We will definitely be back!

WOW…Beautiful unique modern designed home right in front of a Bison ranch! We absolutely loved the location and amenities and close to all the sights we wanted to see (Custer State Park, Crazy Horse and Mt. Rushmore). Our family was on a trip to all 50 states and came across this home that we were able to book at the last minute and same day! Host was very responsive and offered lots of suggestions and amenities! We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area. Loved that we could park our car in garage and unload! But being across from the Bison and able to see them early morning and late afternoon made our trip!

We really enjoyed our stay. We were biking the Mickelson Trail and the location was adjacent to the trail, which was very convenient. The kitchen was well stocked and the beds were very comfortable. We felt right at home. Just beware that there are cattle nearby and that means flies, which is important to know if you plan on wanting to hang out on the patio. We would definitely stay here again.

We loved it here and will be returning in the summer for another mini vacation. Sarah is very nice and helpful. 10/10 recommend!!

This is our second time staying here as we travel across country. Michelle is so great and easy to work with. She even took care of setting up an additional day along with a discount. Enjoyed the property, got to meet the baby sheep and here about the different animals they have there. Also the store there is so convenient and full of great organic selections. We'll definitely be back...🤗

Walt's Retreat was very easy to find and check in. The home was extremely clean and clutter free with plenty of plates, glasses, pots and silverware so we had everything we needed. The location is close to town but is very private with lots of acreage and a huge yard that has a tire swing my granddaughters loved. Shana was accessible, helpful and the perfect host. We would definitely stay again!

Absolutely an amazing place to stay! Our family i enjoyed the quiet stay with spacious room, nice views, and a great host who checked in on us often!! We will absolutely return again and rent this home if possible on our next trip!! Absolutely amazing!!

Spacious, nicely decorated cabin. Comfy beds and linens. Private, surrounded by nature, yet very close to town. Loved having our morning coffee on the large deck watching the deer and bunnies. Would definitely stay again!
